Good advice here mate
Just tried my first group ride this past weekend and was in the very back and all I did was play catch up the whole time. It was nerve wracking lol To top things off the guy in front of me kept kicking his foot out in a weird way and I finally figured out he was pointing out debris. That signal wasn't on my list lol.
I finally sort of caught up with them at a stop sign and broke off to head home.
I read where the newbies were supposed to ride behind the leader. I guess it's just different with different groups.
I bought my first bike April 30th on my 54th bday after an All Clear from my oncologist. Loving every minute on my bike! ❤️ Thanks for all your videos!
Some groups put slow riders in the front, some in the back, If I don't know everyone then I try to put slow riders in the back so someone riding aggressive doesn't push them to ride to fast. They should have had an experienced rider in back behind you so you were never left riding alone with no support. Most important is Ride your own Ride, don't push yourself to keep up. Glad you are loving it and your ALL CLEAR. Welcome to the channel.
@ I think the most important thing is to ride your ride, your safety is your responsibility, you can’t trust it to someone else. My skills are different than people that ride with me and I tell them ride your ride, if I see you dropping back I will slow the group. You are not “stepping up” cause of him, I would either explain why and maybe he will give it food for thought or move on. You might ask others how they feel, you may not be alone. If your not comfortable with discussing it with him or others then I suggest moving on. Stay safe brother.
Slowest or inexperienced always at the front. Then they will be taking risks trying to catch up with faster or more experienced riders.
New riders in the back. If the front pulls off let them pull of. Go your own pace not hold up and destroy the entire groups fun.
Good reminder and sound advice.
I rarely ever ride with anyone else but when I do I don’t ride staggered. I space the bikes out farther so they can use their whole lane and also leaves space for cars. I’ve seen cars invite themselves into tight formations too many times. We can argue all day long about who is right or wrong but cars are bigger than bikes and you’ll lose the physical battle.
I like riding in the back because I like being able to see the whole group. I ride slower on purpose so I can keep in the back too.
Great video 🏍👌🏼
Thanks!
Love the vid. I'm trying to get into group riding all I do is do commute writing right now
We just did a Memorial Ride yesterday and we were in a group from 6 bikes to over 40 at different times, start with a small group 5-10 before getting into bigger groups if possible it will help you develop skills and experience.
True Brotherhood HOOAH!!
I've done a few group rides. Not for me. I prefer the freedom and independence of riding solo. When I, by chance encounter group rides I stay about 30-40 yards behind.
thank you ... from a 'newbie'.
You're welcome!
Wanna be friends? " nice ride, wide roads
My area has no motorbike meetups
I have to ask where do you have your camera mounted?
