From a police officers perspective of these trucks/vehicles in our fleet. We use Chevy/GMC (Tahoe, Silverado, Sierra), Ford (Explorers), RAM/Dodge(1500, Charger, Durango). Out of all them, the Dodge/Ram’s have great features and feel/look the best when new. However our GM and Ford vehicles last the longest by far. We have plenty past 100k miles that run great and they are definitely driven hard. The Dodges have the most problems and the interior fit and finish fall apart first. Not always the case but the general consensus. This is from a police vehicle perspective and we beat our vehicles up. Just my two cents. All three make good vehicle though.
In Mexico, the three types of polices use nothing but pickup trucks, even the military have Silverados
I assume the rams that you have are from the previous generation? It would be interesting if the new style ram holds up to the abuse you are talking about. I guess a few years we will have a better idea.
No way I would ever go with a Dodge Ram I had one brand new it was garbage instrument cluster went out after a week I had it the AC went out 2 times fuel pump died after the 1 st year shopped the truck 3 times for the damn transmission truck barely had 60,000 miles on it finally had enough and traded it in on a used Silverado z71 never had any issues my opinion I would go with either Ford Chevy or GMC
great information for sure!

Your review was spot on. The only other things that could be added is overall reliability and value.
The main difference is that Ford and Ram FCA listen to the consumers/customers.
@@paulfeasal6024 I was told the v6 was a rock solid motor with nothing fancy.
@@lastcall170 Nothing. There are pentastar V6's with 600,000+ miles on them! IMO the best V6 on the market. Also no direct injection crap to deal with.
2.7 v6 in the fords is a nice engine except for NVH. Terrible NVH but not as bad as the 3.5 in Tacomas. That's probably the worst V6 for NVH that I've ever driven.
@@paulfeasal6024 read about the Ecoboost V6 development. It was built for boost. An engine that was made to handle turbo boost will last a long long time.
I want a truck that lasts. Give me the best box frame, springs and brakes. I don't care about pretty interiors. I want and engine to last forever.
The mountains in the background when you talked about the Ram 1500 👌🏼 absolutely beautiful.
I drove a Silverado every day it was awesome. My company switched to ram and almost every month we had a problem with something on it.
I wish they'd concentrate on pricing more towards something is affordable (but not stripped). I'd like to see some concentration on pricing tech! Personally, I'd like the better trim bits...but without all the required "tech" that I hardly, if ever, use. It would be a better value for me with no less enjoyment.
Thanks Ben! This video was amazing. I would like to see another video like this with cars one day
The mic feed is cooked man. Good luck with the next one mate. Looking forward to the next one!
I have watched a lot of your UA-cam truck videos and you are the best! Thanks -
I do agree that the GM Truck Interiors are a disappointment especially if you’re paying more for the GMC Sierra. At least they’re getting an Interior Update in 2022, both the Silverado and Sierra will get an updated dashboard and Super Cruise, GM did add the MultiFlex (MultiPro) Tailgate to the Silverado for 2021 which is great and the Sierra will finally get a Digital Gauge Cluster. Great Video Ben!
The two things I miss the most about my 17 and 19 LTZ Z71s are the 6.2 what a great engine. The rear bumpers steps are such a simple thing you don’t think about till you don’t have them.
@@gmrtg1414 I have a GMC and I love the 6.2L V8! GM is adding that Bed-Step to the Silverado and Sierra 1500s which the Heavy Duty’s offer.
You know what I want? I want a 2 door, 4x4, long bed 1500/150 truck with zero options, all manual, with a v8. Miss those old basic work trucks.
farmers wet dream
Wow, Ben is a walking dictionary on all these trucks!
Good vid. Keep up the good work.
I have the same crack in my 17 Raptor windshield ... anyway - I’ve looked at all of them each time I’ve traded over the years and always fell back into Ford (last 4 have been Raptors so really nothing else to look at) ... paid off the 17 in December and have Wildtrak ordered so probably won’t trade (trucks) for a few years but when it happens it’ll be the F150 ... really like the new redesign (minimal outer but great interior) ... just a matter of whether or not it’ll be the Raptor! Great review - thank you!
I have a 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 HD SWD, no complaints so far, had it since last January.
F150 would be my first choice with Ram right there in a close second. If I were to base it on exterior look alone, GMC AT4. So beautiful 😍
And you can get that 6.2 which is no joke
@@gmrtg1414 Oh yeah, GMC AT4 with the 6.2L? The only problem is you have to sit inside a GM interior.
@@joshuapisani1853 Yep. I miss my 6.2 but love my Ram Limited.
@@gmrtg1414 Did you pick RAM straight away? Trying to convince myself I'm not a Ford fan boy, and want to research all the half tons' Pros/Cons. I want the best transfer case with locking rear axle in the segment.
@@joshuapisani1853 I had 2 LTZ Z71s 6.2 a 17/19 before I got my 20 Limited. They all make really nice pickups I always say I wish I could get a GM 6.2 Ram Interior/Air ride and a F150 exterior lol. I’m not sure who has the best locking rear diff. I’m guess the AT4 or Rebel for that type of use.
I went ram rebel. F150s were about 8k more than my rebel. Love it so far but am looking forward to more snow this year
Out of RAM and Ford, I'd go Ford. If RAM offered a 6.4 hemi option it would be tough. The 5.7 is an old engine. I do like the look of the GMC at4. If I didn't have a Raptor I would've cross shopped between the f150, RAM, and GMC
Thank you for your time . Got all my answers 👍
I just sold my Tundra,
Bought a 2021 3.5 ecoboost...
If Toyota pulled their head out of their ass and refined the 5.7 liter for better fuel economy,
My new truck decision would've been quite difficult.
Minus the fuel economy, the Tundra is bullet proof and a joy to own.
That said, I'm more than impressed with the Ford so far. Excellent truck
The new Tundra gets 24mpg. But then again the F150 is a damn good truck too.
Lol v6
@@augustusgloop9330
Well the 3.5 Ecoboost will smoke any V8 on the market, tows more than the 3.0 liter diesels from Ford, GM, and RAM, and gets 20-22 mpg while doing it, I assume you haven't driven the 3.5 liter.
Lol?????
@@meyer7312 no but I’d take a v8 over a v6 eco boost lol
I would pick a GM or Toyota product any day over a dodge
One of the reasons for selecting my Ram 1500 Laramie was ride quilty. Ram was rated higher, along with other factors.
great video man! will you be doing a similar video with small trucks?
Yes
I chose the 21 tundra, might be outdated, but atleast it won't be in the shop as much as the others. Lol
Mine's in the shop... getting a lift :D
You will just be at the gas station !
Truth
@@ZelphrinsGaming for what ?
I'd go with the Ram, you can still get a very good interior with all the features for like $50k-$60k going with the laramie longhorn or even a laramie, i love how the sport packages look with them laramies and i'd go with that over a limited to save some money and imo get a slightly better looking truck with most of the tech and luxuries from the limited
Rama look nice drive nice and have great interiors there resale and reliable are the worst if you want a nice interior buy a sports car or luxury car their trucks use them to work. This is why there getting so expensive more tech equals more money more issues.
@@torintherrien6472 my ram 3500 dually from 2013 still runs like a dream and I beat that guy up I’m always hailing cows and hay cause I own a farming company and I’ve always gone with ram and they have never let me down
I agree with you especially on the Titan.. I have a 2016 Titan PR with the 5.0 Cummins.. by far a TITAN MISTAKE. Nothing but trouble since I drove it of the lot.. that is reason why Nissan stopped building the Titan with the Badge that sold me on it.. Cummins engine.. In my location area, the Diesel techs have all left Nissan.. so there is little experienced diesel mechs.. and the emission system only lasted me 23,000 miles before it threw a CEL. Nissan does not warranty a Nissan Diesel emission systems if the state don't test emissions. but truck could still throw you into limp mode for emission issues.. driving on a pray now.
We use one at work. I agree total junk. I hate hauling with it and avoid it like the plague, transmission issues 4x4 issues, no visibility when towing, just terrible, only 80,000 on it too. However we also have a f450 dually that has 220,000 that can just take a whooping and has never let me down. And can tow pretty much anything, oh and you can actually see. I love that truck.
Should take tow numbers into account next time. 9000 lbs vs 11000 lbs is a decent amount.
New F150’s have 3 engine options and one is the Coyote V8 so I had to correct you. You can get a V8 in a F-150
RAM - Excellente truck.
Ford - Tough truck.
Nissan - Fast truck.
Chevy/GMC - Entry truck
Toyota - Truck. Just... TRUCK. Like... TRUCKING TRUCK...
The ford has a coyote v8 option what are you talking about?!
Ford has the best looking truck for sure. Unfortunately none of the can build a lifelong truck anymore. Lucky to get 200,000 miles on these new engines. Just my opinion.
Completely agree with your opinions coming from a guy who owns a Chevy. One question: is the Chevy interior getting the Tahoe treatment this year?
I have a 2018 Ford F150 XLT. I'd love a new one but truck prices are just bananas these days. I guess that I'll drive mine til these prices become more affordable, if ever.
Be bold man. We follow you as we see you as the expert. Take a position. Right or wrong, we want to hear the position of the expert. ;-) i enjoy your video. Thanks
he bought the RAM
The Ford eco boost v6 is a great engine. And very fast. If you like torque get the eco boost. Twin turbo
TBH , I would have bought RAM big Horn, if wasn't for the dealership in my country, ( spear parts are Over Priced) it makes you walk away from it.
Which made me buy F150 XLT. 2019 in good price. ( 2020 XLT Model is not available).
Anyway Great Video though. Keep it up.
Love to watch at stuff I can't afford lol
GMC Sierra Elevation with the X31 offroad package and the 5.3L V8.
That's why the Tundra is go good, they don't just upgrade shit for the purpose of upgrading shit.
The market is flooded with trucks here in Utah, Ram dealership was overflowing. What brand would be your recommendation to get a good deal before the end of the year after looking all that pools of trucks.
I like the GM 4At but also the Ram HD
Depends on what you want out of the truck🤷♂️
@@BenHardyCars
Well I like think the AT4 fits my needs but I wouldn’t mind the Ram 2500 Diesel
Turbo Ecoboost V6 for high altitude running
Sorry, I just can't go with anything that's owned by the Fiat company
I love your videos
RAM needs to offer a 392 option as it would sit in the middle of the 5.7 Hemi and 6.4SC TRX
The trx is a 6.2L SC V8, not a 6.4L
The 392 is in the 2500.
That’s the thing I miss the most about my Silverado’s the 6.2 is a great engine
Agree that ram need the 6.4L as an option, I'll be in the market for a limited in the future and am toying with the idea of a whipple, if they had the 6.4 as an option it would be great.
Wow 2 videos a day I loving it
This whole month lol
I have never owned a Toyota, but have owned all the domestic brands and never had a truck that I thought was unreliable. In fact reliability is never even an issue, so don’t understand why people say the Toyota is super reliable. Compared to what?
Just bought a Ram Big Horn w/ midnight and 12” screen, absolutely love it
@@paulfeasal6024 I would chose a Toyota for reliability and price but I would choose a ram 1500 limited for luxury ,space, and better looks
The Ram is superior in many ways when compared side by side and with similar packages. Ram owns the interior and ride quality market.
Hands down all it takes is a person to test , in my case, a 2021 F150, Then GMC and finish with the Ram all in their mid level package (respectively) theirs a ton of options especially with Ram and Ford.
The Ram bighorn is excellent imo.
Ford now hauls more weight I’m told but that means nothing to ninety percent of people as the tow ratings exceed most needs.
All three will tow or haul most anything.
Some crew members spoke of bad experiences with Ram when I was shopping for fleet vehicles but Ram now on its own has created fantastic trucks and i may be lucky , I’ve never had an issue. My F150 2005 the transmission literally dislodged the first year. They recalled all those trucks on east coast.
Fords tend to run longer if you get a good one but fact is I trade mine in every five with a shit ton of miles on them and thirty years later I’ve yet to have any breakdown no matter what brand exception the F150 and it was repaired and ran fine afterwards.
Ford over Ram in the half ton segment. Ram over Ford in the 3/4-1ton segment. I feel like the cummins is a better engine and easier to maintain.
I own the 2021 tundra limited crew cab. It has the short bed. I didn’t much care for the tonneau cover it came with too damn heavy and clunky. I love the interior space. I hear the new 2022 model is a complete new design on the infotainment with a bigger screen. That’s cool but I like and prefer less electronics. . It’s my first truck and took a but getting used to since my other car is a Range Rover super charged that just flies and I love it too. Tundra is a big truck and big tank and with gas prices it’s makes me wince when I fill it up. I enjoy the ride and it’s smooth. Lots of interior space front and back. I bought it also cause i want to buy a truck bed camper and also haul my food trailer. Neither bought so far as COVID and this year it seems every thing price wise has sky rocketed. But I love my truck
Ford f150 limited is 🔥 however i think the GMC look the best exterior wise Mean and Aggressive.
Give me the exterior of the GMC Denali and the interior of the Ram Longhorn
Now that's a truck
I would definitely buy that truck.
I love the mountains in your videos, were are you located?
I kinda like the Nissan, I like the simple looks and not big on tech.
I might be bias, RAM!
Edit: Raptor exhaust sound. 🥴
What's the trim of the ram on the picture of this video. it looks like that could be the next vehicle.
Crazy the most American made truck on the road has been the Tundra for the last decade plus.
Best truck of 2021 is the 2021 Toyota Tundra.
It is the last of an era of true pick up trucks and a legendary V8 motor.
From this point on everything is plastic, tiny twin turbos, and luxury electronics you don't need in a truck that cost a fortune and are designed to break shortly after their warranties run out.
The 2nd generation Tundra was a true pickup and 2021 truly is represented by it's swan song.
I own one too. I love it.
Do a review with the v8 2021 f150
Can you make a similar video but with the heavy duty trucks.
I agree with you 100%. My opinion that is going to be different possibly is I feel the Rams hood, grill and paint colors are starting to feel dated
I really like the new 2022 GMC Sierra Dennali.
All these new trucks are good these days, just go with the the one the appeals and suits you and your lifestyle the most.
Here's the deal.... The big 3 want a small fortune for these luxury tech trucks yet the warranties stay the same ? They up the up the price, so up the warranty ! It would help people pull the trigger on $60-70-80K trucks knowing the company is behind them 6 years / 100,000 miles bumper to bumper !! LOL.... BTW: This dealer mark-up over MSRP should be fined and laws put in place to make it illegal !!
Might want to look into some actual fuel numbers from owners on fuelly. Tundra is with in 3 mpg of the others , so if you account for reliability at all it probably is the least expensive over time with highest resale value. With radar cruise and all that come standard on tundra not sure how behind the times it really is. Considering the other brands have many problems with there cooled seats, or massage features. Personal experience I have owned Ram, Titan and many f150s. The older f150s held up the best by far, but my 2017 and 18 were junk. A quick trip to edmunds reviews by owners basically lines up exactly with my experiences.
Love the front of the new ram but kinda annoyed the haven't changed the tail lights in forever do something to it!
No one is thinking about that. There's really not much you can do to tail lights on a truck without making it look like ur trying too hard. Just keep it simple... Besides, no one in the market for any of these trucks would care about that.
I got a 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 with 5.3L engine 6 speed transmission it is the LT style it has leather seats heated seats back up camera it even has a inverter in the console it's got chrome metal front bumper where all the others have plastic bumpers and the hood is like the one on the 2500 HD truck so this one beats out Dodge and Ford hands down. Great video keep them coming.
Chevy is an ugly looking truck, inside and out. Yes the most important part of a truck is the guts, but if you don’t like the look of your truck too, then you’ll never be fully happy, and Chevy trucks are uglier than sin.
How do you feel about coyote compared to 5.7 hemi?
I can decide what looks good, what I really want to know is reliability and value.
I’m 18 and was only able to afford the big horn trim, originally wanted a 5.0 on an xlt but they are way more overpriced with a worse interior
Trying to find a solid truck under 40k, doesn’t have to be new. But I need a good truck for commuting in the winters. As a carpenter, I need a reliable truck. Could use some recommendations.
Tundra for the win the rest are money pits. Know from experience.
It would be nice if they’d make a larger/ stronger version so you can haul more
@@KeeverConstruction that’s what american trucks are to foreign trucks. There’s your answer. (In my opinion! 🤣)
Consider using a lapel mic! Your audio quality will be that much better :-)
I resent the acronym meaning fix or repair daily for my F-150. My truck usually goes a few weeks or months before needing to be brought in to the shop. I’d go for the horrible fuel economy because of my short commute and the reliability.
When these trucks are 6 plus years old with all that technology inside of it. Gosh the replacement cost is going to cost a pretty penny. Dealership will be making a killing on that they are just waiting.
Except for the toyotie
I like the raptor. What happened to the windshield?
I’m not commenting on this video cause people get very offended by some of my opinions AND my praise of the RAM brand...Great video Ben!
I love how you hid your non comment in a comment. Very clever lol. Well done.
@@themeach011 Well thanks for noticing...It was a coincidence I believe..😊🤔
Heavy on superficial aesthetics! Opinions, oinions….everybody has’em and they’re all different.
The question of which is the best/ rankings depends on engineering/ manufacturing to use(work/off-roading/ strengths/ others).
Ram= electrical issues
Ford= mechanical/ use
Chevy/ GMC= exhaust/ stabilitrac
Toyota= RELIABLE mechanically but doesn’t have the hauling/ work truck power
I bought the 2021 Silverado 1500 custom and I’ve drove it for a month and I honestly hate it , the transmission feels so unresponsive , it’s a 4.3 v6 . interior feels so cheap and scratches so easily I have to get into my truck slowly so nothing gets scratched by my boots lol . Steering wheel doesn’t even have a volume control I have to reach over and touch the touch screen all day long and For the big sticker price and how much all the mods are just to make the truck acceptable it just sucks man ... I really regret it
You get what you pay for
Maybe you should compare the top trim level on the F150 to the Limited Ram.
I agree
@@BenHardyCars not only does the F150 Limited have more luxury than the Ram, it’s also equipped with the same motor as your Raptor
I’ve had a Chevy. Blew up with 40k miles and only 2 years old. Never owning anything but a Toyota from now on
Could you do mid size trucks?
Silverado for sure !!
Def the Ford. The reason is the bed is much better. It has more hooks and an outlet.
No one will ever get the ideal truck ever. For me the top 2 priorities I look for are reliability and fuel efficiency. Everything else can come second or third in my wish list. Interior and techs not a huge priority for me. That's why I wish toyota tundra would at least try to put out a more fuel efficient truck. Like a hybrid tundra. If they come up with that, I'm buying it tomorrow.
Good review!! I agree with your ratings. The only way to separate the RAM 1500 and the Ford F150, is price. I think RAM is a better deal for now. I prefer the Ford but I think the same optioned truck is about $5k more than a RAM.
You will not regret it .I order the f÷150 limited myself. The luxury combo are insane 18 speakers, the soft seats reclined all the way with massage , best fuel consumption 700 miles per filled up.. ford all the way
Also can you review a 2014 Cadillac cts v Sedan fully loaded because my dad really wants it and you are the best guy to show everything he's going to get from that car.
Discontinued🤥
@@natelove187 I know but he will still get one because that's his fav body shape of it

Oh your socks is special, especially dust of it
RAM !
Tundra fuel mileage is lower due to 6 speed transmission and rear gearing set up to tow (4.3)
True but with that low of a gear it should tow more
@@gmrtg1414 They underrate the tow ratings on the Tundra
It's ancient tech
@@javilink7 so is the wheel but look how great it still is
Gonna miss the raptor 😭
Please compare the box frames, springs and brakes between trucks and discover who has the best.
I heard the box frame of the Ram is half the size of the Ford.
Ram surprisingly has the highest percentage of trucks still being registered and driven on the road over 25 years old
I would get an f150
Need to add toyota into this line up. Because u compared all 3 trucks I like... but I'm looking at the new TRD tundra
Is that the 'TRD turd' Tundra?
I bought the tundra limited 2021 and yes it should’ve been added to this list
Ford has a V8 available in their f-150s. The 5.0 Coyote and it has 400hp and 410ft-lbs. The 5.7 hemi has 395hp and 410ft-lbs. so if you’re looking for a V8 you don’t have to go with the Ram.
is that a white or ivory ram limited?
On one hand it’d be nice to have the tundra updated, but at the same time if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. No good deed goes unpunished
Yo me compraría la Chevy Silverado ❤️🤯🤩🤩
I like the GMC Truck
