I work for Ram.. and we bust our balls trying to make the best truck possible there is literally sweat drippings on every truck.
Is that why they rust out so fast, leave the factory wet, get a head start on that rusting out eh!! I know people who work for Crapsler and the last thing they do is work hard, shitty corporation, shitty old platforms. Absolute rubbish. I laugh at you stupid asses bragging up trucks like you know something, most of Ram drivers are girls who like that soft ride from that weak ass suspension. Frigging girls.

The problem is the people who can afford the luxury truck trims want a luxury feeling and looking truck on what they see the most, inside. The Ram to me still has that over all the others, even with Fords new interior being nicer but still not enough to sway me away from my Ram limited. I traded my 2019 Ram limited in and got the 2021 version over the Ford due to it just not being enough for the extra money. I love the Rambox, and multi gate bed along with the heads up display and digital rear view mirror. With the discounts Ram offer at the end of the year, I got my fully loaded 74k Ram Limited for 63k. For a higher priced truck, where is the spray in bed liner , the wheel liners, the basics you should get without having to add it on as extras in the higher trim levels? Its the small stuff that Ford is missing for Luxury money. You could at least offer cooled rear seats. Yes, the Ford is quicker but at the end of the day, so what? All of the other trucks are no slouch either. Plus, that little better 0-60 comes at what cost, a less reliable turbo engine. So I may get there a second or two slower, well I still got there not far behind you. And with another 10 to almost 20k in my pocket in a what feels and looks like a more luxury truck to me. So you may be rated to tow more than me, but all 1500 trucks can tow anything most people would actually tow. If I was going to tow anything near the top end of a 1500 truck, I would buy a 2500 truck to do it. I own a Ford f150, a Toyota Tundra , a Ram 1500 limited and a GMC 2500 with the 8.1 liter engine and they all have their pros and cons. Buy the one that will make you the happiest because at the end of the day, they all have their issues. I love all trucks but I just bought the 2021 truck that I felt was the most luxury for my dollar and had the tech that I would actually use , the Ram .
i got a bighorn and i have been loving it. its so good to have a truck again after along time away from them
The difference between the GMC in the Chevy truck is GMC is junk and Chevy is even junkier LOL!

@@Bearjew2995 I'm satisfied with my 2017 Silverado. Just disappointed in Chevy's design team lately. Idk how they thought those new Silverados looked good. And they don't have a model to compete with the Raptor or TRX. Their interior isn't as good as it could be. I sure hope they have a new trick up their sleeves...a new _truck_ up their sleeves. It's hard trying to be loyal to a brand that won't come out of its shell. But I'm still here I guess.

@@BabyMamaMaker I’m one of them! I like that they always keep it somewhat the same from one generation to the next. It’s a truck ! Not supposed to be a luxury vehicle in my opinion. I personally find the latest w/t trim is pretty nice for a base model. People demanding all these high end features is why prices are getting out of control.

I’ve owned seven new rams over many years and not one ever went into the repair shop other than a couple of them had recalls that were minor in nature... I can buy any truck I want and I only buy ram so the quality must be pretty darn good....👍

Spot on, ben. I believe, and other youtubers (savage geese, etc.), have said that RAM still has the nicest interior in any full-size truck, because while they may not be outfitted with the latest and greatest tech - their components flow so nicely together that it feels like a more cohesive environment. No doubt that the 2021 F150 has a fantastic interior with tech and luxurious details, but it doesn't "flow" as nicely as the RAM. Coming from a Ford guy.

I agree with you completely on price. Figure 60k for the big three. Ford you have a highly optioned up XLT with cloth seats or a basic Lariat with leather. Ram you’ll have a Laramie with leather and quite a few options. GM twins you’ll be kind of in between the Ford and Ram options wise. What would help GM I think is putting the 6.2 in lower trims. The best part of Ford is you can get the 3.5 Ecoboost and now the PowerBoost motors in the bottom trim.

I agree about pricing with the RAM. My current RAM is a ‘17 Laramie. Got about 9k off w incentives. People who’ve never been in a truck are amazed how nice my trucks interior is. Heated and vented seats, heated rear seats, ambient lighting, WiFi....etc. Luxury and 4x4 all in one.
I agree the ram interior is still the best I see one for sale online 2020 ram limited and literally looks like your driving in a Rolls Royce in my opinion thanks Ben good video 👍👍👍

I think you’re spot on in your analysis. If I went back to buying a new truck every couple years I’d buy a Ram or F150. Buy now I’m keeping the 10+ years I’ll probably be staying with Tundra.

I met your channel just recently and I aplreciate your usual work but this one is really a lesson that explains perfectly the world of trucks. Thank you so much. I watch from Italy and here a 5.7 engine or so is simply a nonsense nevertheless now I just want one of those and you'll be my reference and advisor to choose the "right" one. Also, I'm sure that you could be and maybe are the best advisor for producers. I'm even improving my comprehension of American English thanks to your crazy speech speed 😂. I'm amazed from the choice of different models and version available in USA and I'm sure that I'll be disappointed when I will look for a dealer here, I'm pretty sure that I will overpay to get what I want or wait decades to have it delivered from US (through Germany that maybe has a wider market for trucks, I guess) any suggestion on this point? Last thing (I apologize) the interiors of F150 Limited with those quilted seats in clear color is simply crap 😂.

Love watching your videos Ben. I am a Ford guy always have been and I have to agree that Ram has the nicest interior by far, but for me Ford just looks all around better than any other truck. I am not putting down all the other trucks cause Ford has their cons but I just think if you’re a Ford guy you’re going to buy a Ford if your a Ram guy you’re going to buy a Ram and so on. I just like like the looks of a Ford I think they look better that all the other trucks that’s just my opinion.
Best analysis I have seen on UA-cam I think you were spot on. Ram is the truck of the year but Tundra is the truck of the decade. I fall into the Tundra demographic perfectly. Willing to settle for less technology and horrible gas mileage for a balance of capability and incredible reliability. I love what Ram has done and would probably be my second choice in half ton. Super Duty Duty Fords on my opinion are a much better value than 150s.
Agree on the Ford. If I ever have a need or desire to go 2500/250 I would strongly consider a Ford. Never will though as long as I am in the 1500 market. Just ridiculous prices which creates terrible value.
Despite the Tundras lack of tech and an update, I would still drive one if it had a proper crew cab combined with a 6.5 box. Instead, I drive a crew F-150 with all the tech.. which is great but in the middle of nowhere it sure would be nice to be in a Toyota instead
Best interior still....powertrain....not,less power,less mpg...tho I actually dont mind the Hemi/8 speed combo.
Reliability....some guys have problems some dont....the air bags have been a nightmare for everyone up here in colder climate.
Up here the Ram rust away,salt is used alot in the winter.
Window sticker prices here are high on the Ram,but discounts are higher than Fords.
My Chevs have rust problems too....I do alot of gravel driving.
The aluminum body of the F150 has been so nice,and I haven't had any problems with the Ecoboosts.
And any truck that requires premium gas(6.2 Chev,which I've owned) is automatically crossed off my list.
that is why Ford is number one ! , Ram is still chasing Ford , F150 , 2400 sold every day !
I notice reliability wasn't mentioned for the 'American' brands. All vehicles no matter the make will have their good and bad ones.

Correct. Because Ford has a great truck. We have own both F150 and Ram 1500. I spent more time at Dodge than at work.
If the F150 is so bad (NOT!) why do they consistently outsell everyone else ? I will give Ram credit for passing G M (like that was hard to do lol) but they will have a real challenge to dethrone the mighty F150 ! Ford sells 2400 pick ups every day ! , and i am waiting for mine ...
Ford has 3 plants to flood the market with f150s. Ram only has 1 plant. Ford will sell more because they have more volume.

How can GM truck lovers not have a major problem with the 4 door trucks being made in Mexico. But still costs the same. At least give the consumer that price discount.
Even the Ram Classic is way different from the Tradesman. The packages for Ram are honestly better, and I feel I’m getting more for my money.
I think you should be less dismissive of your introductory comment. Some very good points made on the Chevy and GMC interiors. A bit contradictory on Ford pricing. IMHO they are not overpriced if they don’t sit on the lot long enough to review them. Ram 1500 is great if you use like a car transporting kids and groceries. I have not yet seen a higher trim level Ram 1500 that has a CCC high enough to tow my camper with my family and all the gear.

They have been doing updates to their trucks therefore making them eligible for Truck of the Year. Ford will win this year because they did a refresh.

The Ram drives a lot better than the other trucks. I switched from GMC to Ram in 09 and haven't looked back. I have a fully loaded Limited and it's head and shoulders above the other brands in my opinion.
Ram needs a more powerful engine option for the limited. A 6.4 would be nice to see. Something premium like Ford does. Even make it an option for those who don’t want it.

With ram you get everything you need and everything you dont
Simple. Chevy / GMC has had bad interiors and reliability issues. Ford has always borrowed great ideas from Ram like the duel glovebox , the functional movable center console. The button switch options and the power lift gate.
Plan on Ford borrowing the Air ride as well as the barn style tail gate.
The Tundra is never in the top three because they have a missed mark on what American is. The interiors are large but tailored to a rather goofy Texas / ish wannabe style that is a big miss. Reliable as hell though.
The Nissan Titan is a big fail.
The tech in the Chevy /GMC is generic and toylike.
The Ram wins because it has the best tech , largest touchscreen, best ride and feel , best interiors, most luxurious and the air ride is special.
Rear reclining seats.
The Ram box and carlike ride is phenomenal.
All trucks can haul , pull just about anything and everything most people would need in a truck.
Fords are quicker but not faster in the haul. Quarter mile king in fact.
Ram has more options and customizations.
From the Warlock to the TRX. The Bighorn, Longhorn, to the limited which is the best truck on the road right now.
Ford is playing catch-up and has a history of borrowing others ideas to try and beat them.
The top two right now is #1 Ram
#2 Ford F-series
A close 3rd is
#3 GMC Sierra imo
Ram and the reason is Superior build quality, Reliability, Technologically advanced, Comfort & Safety, And most importantly a HEMI V8. Thanks Ben one of your best videos.

I personally think that it comes down to percieved quality. I bought a RAM because it felt just plain better than anything else out there. Is it actually better? Maybe not, but the difference in perceived quality was more than enough for me

This is spot on across the board, but especially with Chevy. I bought a Ram Rebel a few months back and would have loved to get a Chevy Trailboss but the interior quality was just so poor. I could not justify a $55k truck with that interior. Meanwhile with the Rebel it is absolutely amazing. I paid a little more than I would have for the Trailboss, but it was more than worth it just because of that quality. Chevy has everything nailed except the interior. Ram just does everything right across the board.
That was a ton of great information in a 20 minute video. Thanks for sharing Ben. I have driven all 3 trucks or should I say, all 4 truck brands. There are things I like about all of them and there are things I dislike about all of them. I am with you about Ram and the interior and exterior look along with its truck lineup and the value with discounts. I also agree that there isn't much difference between the packages and interior look of GMC/Chevrolet trucks. Ford exterior all look alike and all priced to high.

Discounts are usually quite big on the Rams but window sticker prices are higher here than for a comparable F150.

Let's be clear here... Ford and Gm sell more trucks because they both have 2 and 3 plants to flood the market with f150s and sliverados. There is way more volume coming out of a 3 shift plant compared to Ram's one 3 shift plant. So yeah f150 and chevy sell more trucks volume wise but Ram sell trucks and higher prices and the bottom line is unbelievable.

No it’s not. My dam 2019 Ram 1500 sport gets snow stuck in the intake of the hvac for the cab. Every time it snows it gets under the sport cowl hood and falls down into the grill by the windshield. It’s the only truck I’ve ever had that has this problem and what happens is it makes good heat but no air flow to the cab therefore it can’t stand up to snowy days in 🇨🇦. That and I had bad door sealing issues right from the lot and a manufactured smell from hvac when ac was on and weak ac. Needless to say I’m trying a 2021 F150. My job lows me to purchase these trucks so yes I’ll be trading in lol
The Leather on my 2021 GMC Sierra Denali is definitely different than what I saw in the Chevy Silverado's. I "like" the interior of my GMC, but I don't "love it". Ford nailed their center console in 2021 with the 12" screen and button layout imho. But getting $13K off MSRP on the Denali versus ~$7K off MSRP on a Ford which starts out higher is a tough pill to swallow. I also *hate* the wheels on the Ford... Why are there no options???. My Denali has Beautiful 22" Black wheels that were part of the CarbonPro. But that on-board Generator in the Ford is also brilliant... in 2022, I may trade in my truck for the updated GMC or swap to Ford/Ram.. who knows.

Hey Ben.I live in Denmark 🇩🇰. i have owned 8 american suv/ pick up trucks. chevy s10, ford ranger, s10 blazer, ford f250, chevy tahoe, ford f250 6.4 power stroke, ram 1500 2014, and now has a 2019 ram 1500.In this order.ram and chevy are the only ones who have driven without problems.f250 6.4 power stroke was the worst shit I have owned. 40 miels and the engine was finished, noise from the 2 cylinders closest to the turbo. Drove 85 miels in the first ram 1500 without problems. the new one has only gone 19 miels so of course no problems😃👍🏻I love my ram 1500 Laramie 🤠

Good review but I think you missed an important aspect of the Ford's value- the resale value on them is excellent. You are paying more up front- but you'll get more back when you sell it, and it will sell incredibly quickly. Ram makes a good truck but their resale value (at least where I live) is nothing like the Ford's resale value.
It doesn’t matter what the magazines say, people will still hate on ram for one reason, it’s a dodge or it’s a FCA product, also ford owners will always buy a ford even if ram is clearly the better choice, people are gonna be biased it’s just nature

Not true at all if your truly interested in the best product. I personally like ford but last year needed a new F350 or 3500 for my company. Compared the large V8 from both companies with no biased opinion. Ram had many more reliability issues the more I looked. If you buy solely on brand knowing its a lesser product then you get whats coming to you.

lol its way too soon for a refresh. They just did that in 2019. Can probably expect minor tweaks and tech upgrades but it will be a while before any major changes. Honestly Ram can ride out this generation until 2030 and probably keep winning truck of the year and see sales skyrocket. They are just doing everything right.

I always wondered about resale value for a RAM trucks because they sell them so damn cheap all the time , can they really be worth that much when it comes to resale? I can walk into a ram dealership any day of the week and get $15,000 off a new truck. That’s awesome as a customer but makes you really wonder when it comes time for resale.
I drove a new rebel for 6k miles and 6 months and broke even on selling it

Cant believe nobody is mentioning that in order to contend for truck of the year the truck needs to be either brand new from the ground up or fifty percent new on power train or body thus Ram winning the past three years 2019 Ram 1500, 2020 Ram Heavy Duty and 2021 Ram TRX all brand new. In 2022 they dont contend and the title most likely will go to Raptor R.
In design and ride quality yes but none of the big 3 are reliable from my experience. They all have flaws but for the price ram is the way to go cause ford is insane on there prices and chevy is just ugly and bad interiors
The GMC is a good looking truck. I have to disagree on the Chevy, its just ugly. Why, why, why, did they change what was the most classic looking truck front end? Ford is a good truck. I don't like their front doors with that two level sill, much prefer the straight sill on the Ram. Also I like to have some actual gages. The Ram does a great job of giving you gages along with the screen. That new Ford that is all screen misses the mark for me. I would also submit to you that, especially during COVID, website design is very important to the truck shopper. Ram has a great website with the build your own configuration tool easy to use. Ford's site plainly sucks! You go in and say, hey I want the V8, well which truck level does it come on? Difficult to find. The Ram site has the engine selections right there (note this is just an example). Keep up these great review!!!

I don't think this is that complicated. I have never owned a truck but I am in the market for one. Today if you put a Tundra, F150, Ram, Titan and GMC/Chevy truck next to each other you would pick Ram every time. Their exterior design is more attractive and their interior is simply far superior. That is why they keep winning. This new Tundra is a total disappointment. Yeah...if you don't come up with new ideas, class leading technology/options and play it safe, you will have a "reliable" truck for a small circle of followers but you will never outsell competition. You want to no why the Ram won in 2021, because they didn’t test the new F150. Everyone keeps going on about the interior of the Ram, ( and it is nice ) but the truck I buy has to do more then just look pretty, and in that respect there are way better options.

You need to consider the effectiveness of the safety technology in each truck. We just drove Ram and Ford and the lane keep assist in Ford was amazing, the Ram was not even in the same class. Just because they "have" it doesn't mean it's good.
I couldn't care less what MotorTrend or what magazines say is the best truck on the road. F150 has been the "people's choice" award for decades. Good luck convincing the 900k people who bought a Ford last year that they're driving the wrong truck.

It’s a pick up truck. Way too much emphasis on the interior these days in my opinion. I get in filthy after work and wouldn’t want a truck that has a luxury interior. I personally like the plastic materials as they clean up easy. Part of the reason for having a truck for me is having a utilitarian type vehicle that you can get dirty and not feel too bad about it.
Agree, way too much emphasis on the interior. Three years ago when ram won motortrend truck of the year they were headed on these categories; Interior, drive train and chassis. Ram won interior while ford won the latter two. It is weird that the a truck is being so highly headed by interior

Believe it or not Scotty actually likes the f150, but to please him you must get the 5.0 v8. And anyway I’d get that engine over the ecoboost because it’ll be more reliable and I could supercharge it and get way more power

Because ram has better engineering, they took The time to try and dethrone Ford. They look much nicer inside and out and the hemi is just a better engine. They’ll keep winning truck of the year, next generation will raise the stakes again.

Yes Fords are expensive but who in their right mind would not buy a truck from July to September when Ford employee pricing is on. You save huge money!
No matter how much Ford gives discounts , there are no match to FCA discounts. Me personally I got my Ram 1500 on March 2019 and with friends and family discount and other dealer discount I dropped the price 11 grand . Sticker was 48 grand and I got it out the door for 37 grand . 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn level 2 V6 4x4 . I work for Henry Ford Hospitals and we have the so called X plan and we get 1500$ off of any Ford vehicle . I can’t speculate on how much Ford Co employees can save on their Ford purchases , but for sure I know that with just a friends and family discount you won’t be able to get a good deal at Ford .
@@ervinzefi8662 depending on the vehicle you can get up to 13k off during Ford employee pricing. We got 9k off my wife’s 2020 explorer last summer and another 1500 for military discount. We did ok.
@@Matts000 That’s not bad at all . The 2020 Explorer is a great SUV . How is the space inside ? My wife drives a Audi Q7 and third row is only for kids. I don’t think and adult can sit comfortably for a long drive . Second row is great and the kids love the heated seats on the second row.
@@ervinzefi8662 we love it, ours has the rear entertainment option as well (my kids love it). The third row is tight, but it’s doable for adults, just not for a long period hahaha. But it’s got great power and really good on fuel. Lexus makes amazing SUVs tho, are you glad you bought it? I’m sure you get that Toyota reliability with it
@@Matts000 It’s a Audi Q7 . The full size SUV for them . Not a Lexus . Ours is a 3.0 V6 diesel turbocharged . It is not really fast as it has only about 225hp but it’s has a lot of torque. Fuel economy is great as it gets about 22 city and 28 highway . The AWD system though on it is the best . It’s got a sporty drive for a 5600lb suv but Michigan roads suck balls so you feel every bump or pot hole .
