love your vids taku! im half japanese, born in okinawa in 1964. honestly growing up i had never ate “sashimi” until maybe 10 years ago. i always loved takoyaki and okonomiyaki when my mom would make it for us. now i eat sushi at least once a week!

Next time do like multiple ways of cooking squid (grill, steam, raw, batter and fry) , high heat wok : squid batter and fry add it to roasted dry chili Pepper , green onion , white onion , garlic , black pepper.
I have never try squid jigging , but have always wanted to try it , especially the fresh squids .

I love squid but never getting it as fresh here obviously. So i try to make sure cooking it all the way. But somehow it often ends up being too tough and kinda gummy. Maybe because i overcook it. Man, i need a friend like Taku :D

Always wanted to fish for squid but don't live anywhere near where they run at on the coast. One day I'll get over and do squiding 🦑🦑🦑 fish on and have a great day.
You always need a couple squid jigs in oregon/wa/ca...I've caught them spring time in the Canal, last year they were hot and heavy in the summer off Newport, and I've caught them many other years. They show up in seattle in the fall through winter. Thats a money fishery if you live there or have friends to call you and say come now! If you see bait that you can get to (not to deep) drop a Sabiki Rig, or squid jigs and see what's up.

Jocelyn's question about whether squid eggs are safe is a good one. Apparently cabazon eggs are quite poisonous.
