I wanted to tell you two that I'm so glad your step out in faith in leaving the kitchen and doing what you're doing now has worked out. This time we're in makes it a little harder but you guys have hung tight and it continues to grow and improve for you. I am entering the sunshine of my life but have had a good run and regret nothing. Thank you for helping me and others like me to live your life adventures with you two. Onward!
So many quotable lines in this vid: "If you touch it, he's soft." "You just wait 'till the meat gets hard again." "There is really little people on the island..." "Six and a quarter is... pretty big."
One of my fav of vids. My parents live near there and the serenity, quiet and awe you feel there is indescribable. I always appreciate how you mention sustainability and local catch and size limits. A lot of people don’t give the same care you do. I sent this vid to my fam as we are big dungeness crabbers and campers so I know they’ll all love this recipe. So happy you and Jocelyn got to have this experience!
Hello from Texas Taku & Jocelyn, That was a awesome video and the crab dish looks absolutely delicious. I really like your catch and cook video's. Well you and Jocelyn have a great Sunday and stay safe and healthy. I am looking forward to your next mouth watering video.
Been watching you guys for about a month now. You seem to really enjoy what you do and that is the American Dream. Stay humble and prosper 🙏. Big John from Texas
Man I swear yall are soooo adorable together! Enjoying each other's company is the best. Jocelyn smiling, you're smiling. Definition of a happy couple. Can't wait to see Lil Takus or Lil Jocelyns in the future. ;)
You can really tell how peaceful the island is at the end of the video No car sounds, no people talking in the background... It's so quiet that Taku and Jocelyn are whispering like they're in a library
Crab feast was my Dads favorite so every New Year's Eve I'd go to Chinatown in Toronto to buy him his Xmas present. He was a fisherman in N BC Rivers Inlet before the internment. Love this episode, beautiful Lopez Island!
Oh man I remember when I first subscribed two years back and watched all your videos in one day. I haven't been on youtube in a while and love that I have sooo many videos to catch up on. Thanks always for your awesome videos!
On my 21st birthday I didn’t party with friends, I drove all night and took the ferry to San Juan island and slept in the backseat of my truck. It’s a special part of the world. Love your vids, I moved to Wisconsin one year ago and now I live through you haha
I made this dish. On the stove and finished it in the oven on broil. Washed it down with chilled arbor mist blackberry merlot🍷. It was pretty amazing, my bff and I was full and happy. Thank you so much for this awesome video. I have lived in Washington for a year now. Crabbing since July. Never ate so much crabs in my 35 years of life like I did in the past 5 months 😁
@@thepreparedpinoychannel I was just kidding. He makes a joke about this because I and other comment and named him "Taco". A Japanese Man, living in SF named Taco. Japanese, American, Mexican named
Brings back such fond memories of WA state in my youth, I have a picture from 45 years ago where I had freashly caught and fried sea cucumber for my 10th birthday. My Grandma would take us camping a lot. One time we found out smelt were running on the coast near our camp site. She had a one piece bathing suit with fish net between the top and bottom. Hitting the surf, we tried using a discarded torn boat fish net to catch them, and she would net some of them in her suit. We caught a meal and were very happy.
All those crabs are keepers for the state of Oregon, between his home state of California and where he was, 5 3/4 and the limit is 12 per person per day.
This episode is probably one of my favorites, glad you’re enjoying Washington!!! Caught my first Dungeness off of camano island and cooked it in sage and butter- made delicious sandwiches 💫💫 so great to see you taking in the northwest. thanks for the constant inspiration!!!
I'm glad you guys are ok financially through this pandemic. A lot of people in the restaurant industry have lost their jobs and livelihood I wish to moved and live in a place like this, so pretty and tranquil with nice people.
I save your videos for last, before going to bed at night. Why? Because it calms my mind and my brain. Helps me get my sleep. Keep the good stuff coming man. 👍🏼
Wow! That recipe looks amazing! As my grandma would say ah boy the crab miso is the best part! Loved Washington gotta do the fresh oysters and tempura batter them suckers! Mahalo for sharing! 🤙Aloha
I drove to Seattle from San Diego back when I was 20. I noticed the same thing as you with the great people there. I contemplated staying there and even applied for a job that got accepted. I ended up not staying but would consider going back.
Nice, entertaining and wholesome show, no theatrics, head bopping or screaming like some Aussie videos. You, your girlfriend and Andrew seem like lovely people.
This is a great dish. I will cook this for the family tonight. Great channel! Love the way you prepare and respect all of the food you guy's are cooking. Keep up the good work!!!
My favorite way to cook fresh crab is to clean them, spray them with coconut oil and grill until the shell turns color. It concentrates the Crab flavor and makes them much easier to peel and eat. BTW. That Bullhead you pulled in is extremely good eating.
Thanks for the inspiration Taku, I have a trip planned to see my family on Whidbey Island in november and its crab season 7 days a week where they are! STOKED!
That was a great haul on the kayak Taku! I’ve done the same and thought I’d flip a couple times. So full and very exciting. Especially when you throw the keepers in the kayak with you and they try to pinch you.
Alright enough is enough...you guys make such a great couple! Taku isn’t it time that you ask Jocelyn the big question to make this relationship permanent? Come on now! You have cooked your way to her heart...NOW SEAL IT! Stay Safe! Stay Healthy! Enjoy Life!
Love the way you just nonchalantly toss those crabs back into the water.
He did the no look pass lol
I like how the crabs were like "bruh...." while decending to the ocean floor lol
