We also discuss some of the coolest Halloween costumes sets which do a little more more than just visual changes to your character, and of course much more.

imagine someone having the whole spy set with an unusual fez, an unusual taunt, and 2 unusual cosmetics, that would be a couple of effects
Now we're getting somewhere
Also called " lord of the elements"
and also a community sparkle effect
And an unusual revolver and some unusual miscs
And for extra server lag, make it an Unusual Buy a Life (wich comes with it's own personal particle effect as well).
Eliminating the Impossible set used to do something
Before the Pyromania Update was fully released,there were random items like Goldfish and a Cheese with cyphered descriptions. If you equiped the set,those descriptions would appear deciphered. Sadly the items were (literally) burned because of how hot the Pyromania update was

I was surprised he didn't mention this in the video.
Actualy, wearing the "Eliminating the impossible" set changed some of the descriptions aond effects of the Pyromania update items. (example goldfish, secret diary, banana peel)

yeah. IIRC they all added up to a quote relating to hell from a sherlock holms story.
I was about to say I remembered it being involved with one of the ARGs...
The Descriptions of each item when put together form a quote from Sherlock Holmes (I see no other comment on it, so I'm gonna type it) "[W]hen you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth[.]"
It's also equipable by the spy (The Hat).

Oh shit it’s mr weedman It's because they use the same animation of the Saxxy Award, which has a little base that forces you to hold it like that, they could've made a new animation or simply fixed it but they didn't, so I guess they were just lazy or they decided to leave it like that because of the obvious joke of having your character holding it as if they were fake aristocrats doing gentlemen things...

Actually it's a pretty definitive no, since all the Alien films have female protagonists.
@@HOTD108_ Wait a minute, if all main protagonist in Alien franchise are Females, then that means pyro is a female because Pyro is the only one who wears the Mark 50 In a set with a weapon that is reskin of the flamethrower that is based of the same flamethrower in Alien movies

The medic solving effect did have a use for the pyro update; with it equiped you could decode certain items to find hidden messages on them.
Not a useless effect, just one that had 1 use ahead of time and now nothing but a memory.

Honestly, that motor cycle outfit for Scout looks pretty badass.
I actually collected Halloween sets that give you taunts, I had the Soldier robot and the Demoman warewolf but I also had the Frankenstein Heavy

If you equip the original Halloween set for the heavy, he throws his arms up and screams when you taunt. I had a group of friends all equip the set and we ran around the map spamming the taunt. We would circle around enemy players and just scream at them and they were too confused (or entertained) to attack. One of my fondest tf2 memories :’)
When you wear the Frankenstein set for heavy, you eat a sandvich faster.

i remember when i get all weapons set for saharian spy and the crocodile for snipers after a lot of effort, and 2 weeks later, Valve update TF2 and revome the bonuses, damn!
6:15 That set actually does have an effect. It's say so right on the Wiki. When you have this set equipped it changes the description of certain items.

For the charmers chapeau they should have a set that says "60% lower epicness levels."
Heavy could use that hunger reduction set... I've been burning through sanviches.

Actually the hidden medic set wasn't a joke, it could be used to boost the time or smthng to solve the fireproof secret diary easter egg.
The eliminating the impossible item set changes the description of some items when equipped. The barely melted capacitor and the fireproof secret diary are just two of the items affected by it.

I am known on Steam as The Item Set Guy, and I am on a journey to obtain all Item Sets. It a long way to go, but I know for sure it will be worth the effort. It won't matter if the Set has Stranges, Genuines, or Haunted, if it's in a Set, it will do. Hopefully, I can be able to successfully get all the Sets; it's not gonna be easy, but Item Sets are my passion.

I remember seeing the item sets back when they impacted gameplay. It made me actually work towards one of them. I got the milkman hat and finished the set with a loadout I liked and a bonus that made them even better, I still wear the set from time to time. If you paid attention to the kill feed the holy mackerel could have been an upgrade to the bat by telling you when you killed a dead ringer spy.

Shout out to the time that the Medic's Mystery Solving Time cosmetic set had an effect on the Pyro update.
First thing that came to my mind:

Tbh ALL item sets should leave calling cards
I remember back before meet the pyromania they had that ARG in which you needed the eliminating the impossible set to get some clue.
idk if someone made a comment about this, but the Polycount sets for the Heavy, Medic and Demo you only needed the weapons for the set bonuses with their respective hats being more like addons for the sets andnot mandatory for the set bonuses. Also those 3 sets don't have the "Leave a calling card" effect.
My favorite is the bird head cosmetics. The voice lines are so freaking hilarious.
Honestly, the sets were fine as far as balance, mostly (Im looking at you Croc O'Style, cant be headshot was broken as hell)

It was either "interesting" or "cool" and I didn't want to give the impression the video was about how the item sets look!
Huh? No I just noticed the video was similar to mildly interesting hat facts by after breakfast who also made TF2's PTW past exploring set bonuses and I just kind of merged them in my mind leading to the above comment and this stupidly long reply.
I know I'm late but the sherlock set for medic would change the description of certain items before the "Pyromania" update was released, like little teasers.
So that's why x10 short stop gives you more health
Fun fact: Eleminating the impossible actually owned a effect back in time before MvM relased and played a HUGE role on solving the incoming update (MvM update)
So from what I know, a calling card is a symbol the killer leaves at a crime scene. For example, I think something they used as a calling card in the Batman Telltale series was a white rose.
The other polycount sets (Expert's Ordinance, Medieval Medic, and the Hibernating Bear) didn't require the hats to get the bonuses but also do not leave calling cards when you equip the full set unlike the other polycount sets when bonuses were removed in 2013.
Here were the bonuses for each set:
Expert's Ordinance: 10% fire resistance
Hibernating Heavy: 5% critical hit resistance
Medieval Medic: 1+ health regenerated per second on wearer
I really miss item sets. Like the Clinical trial could've had a mechanical effect, theres no cosmetic items in it.
If you take some typically bad items and put them in a set its a good way to buff them. Like the sharpened volcano fragment, pair it with the gas passer for the Fire Spawn set. Cuts your flamethrower ammo in half, increases movement with the axe out, deals more axe damage, afterburn affects pyros and while under water, double the gas passer AoE. Bam, we got a fucking melee oriented pyro.
I a humble pyro main takes the duty of burning the thing I hate most scout aliens :-:

The fankenheavy makes you taunt faster
There's also the fly cosmetic set for engineer, when the whole set is equipped all his voice lines are pitched up.

There is a pyro hat that would have some kind of effect with the napalmer, and it looked similar to the airtight arsonist. It had some kind of thing where the napalmer did more damage to you, but you did more damage to other napalmer pyros.

The Fruit Shoot's Reduce hunger by 13% is a reference to survival games where hunger is a problem, as you can eat the apple and get 13% hunger back ;p. The Don't Starve Promo items were likely going to have it as a hidden item set as well, but that's just speculation, as the Ham Bat in DS can't be eaten.
I think the eliminating the impossible set once revealed stuff during a TF2 arg.

I have a set for engineer, it involves the pip boy (1 new item) the power helm (looks like a much more battered and worse version of the t45 helmet) and the short circuit (gives effect that says +70% stupid item pickup)
There was a whole Crusader set for solider on workshop but Valve decided to only add The helmet from that set
4:11 does the scout/pyro need to use the set for it to effect or it works fine with normal pyro/scout
You kinda forgot to mention when the old Polycount sets got their set bonuses removed that for some the set bonus was moved onto one of the items in the set. Like the Gas Jockey set's bonus of added movement speed. That bonus was moved onto the Powerjack.
Fun fact if you turn the solider into a robot his halloween lines also change to sound like a robot. No other class has this.
the speed lover set should come with the bike taunt
I think the scout alien set should have a buff as the pyro has range while he doesn’t so like more speed while a pyro is attacking
Didn't mention how the Eliminating the Impossible set would reveal hidden messages on the junk items during the pre Pyromania update days.

I heard something about the Final medic set in the video was linked to those useless items from the pyromainia update. But Idk.
I do like the scout set that was on the workshop I had voted on it
I like the idea of small set bonus’s but only when the weapon combo is active and equipping the hat on top of the weapons set only leaves the set calling card making the hat optional and the sets still accessible to f2ps with no downside.
When you have the bird head for heavy he will say special things when the game starts
It would be interesting if it has a weapon (knife or revolver) that reduses your decloak sound (with a downside)
