    Beautiful footage of an awesome plane! I'll be sad to see it go. And your video taught me something that I didn't know before...only 3 of the 4 vertical stabilizers have rudders on them, not all four. 🤠👍

      Wife and I had a great visit there in 2002! Stayed at a B&B, which was just so much fun -- meeting fellow travelers in the breakfast room and getting ideas where to go next (York, it was!). Amazing castle, too -- tons of historical exhibits, a true museum of Scottish and British military history. Add the city to your bucket list Salute to Edinburgh and all Scotland from a retired U.S. Navy chief petty officer in the Pacific Northwest.

    Outstanding capture of this beautiful workhorse for the U.S. Navy. Everything in is this video accents the marvel of brilliant engineering including the reverse to taxi, huge eight bladed props with their neo tips at hold short for takeoff, and the sound of those magnificent turboprops!

  • @DavidOfWhitehills

    Didn't look like they used much flap. Maybe doesn't matter with such a long runway, but still, why wouldn't they use max flaps? A wee bit less strain on the gear maybe?

    • @AviateJack
      @AviateJack  Місяць тому +1

      They were only repositioning to Prestwick (about a 20 min flight) so I don’t imagine they had much fuel on board, so they could lift off pretty easy

All kitted up in Flight suit, G-Suit, oxygen mask, harness, survival vest, gloves and helmet, when what he should be wearing was actually an orange immersion suit... 😄😄😄
