Just purchased one and it is a big step up! In a few years I will realize this investment in sound is one of great joy and memories! Thanks Zack and PRS!!!
Today I bought this guitar, I have had PRS SE 24 08 Standard, custom 24, custom 22 semi hollow. But the one I liked the most was the Zach Myers. You have a great talent as a guitarist, I congratulate you, I like your videos
Love your demos, I like when the guitar is actually demonstrated by playing as if you were playing a gig rather than running through a few shapes. make the choice of buying it easier.

Always a pleasure listening to your artistry on the guitar. After watching your review of the SE Custom 24-08, I was all set to buy that guitar and then I came across another UA-camr's video of this beauty. After watching yours and other's reviews and hearing how great this guitar sounded, I now have one. I think the 245 S pickups sound better than any of the other SE model's pickups. The satin neck is nice and smooth and so easy to play, even being a little thicker than the wide-thin neck on the SE Customs. I do wish it had push/pull pots to split the coils to offer more sounds. The tuners aren't great; they work, but are very stiff and will take some exercising to loosen up some. I will be replacing them with locking tuners at some point, as well as the tone pots to the PRS push/pull pots.
@@JonIsJustTooLoud yeah sweetwater is backed up ordered mine a month ago, keep in mind it's a que to get them as they come in. These guitars have an extremely high desirability and people that do have them praise them pretty highly, When I looked into it anybody with issues seems to complain about the nut binding the strings, which seems pretty mundane to me will slight work and lube.
great review! Great Playing and thorough explanation of the "details"!! Thank you Jonathan! I too was "taken" by the looks of this guitar when I saw it online! lol!
Great playing and great demo. I just bought one but haven't received it, yet. Can't wait to get it, and then start practicing so I can make it sound as good as you do.
Hey Jonathan...Excellent review! I went to a local music store last week. I was looking for something lighter then my 65 Reissue Jazzmaster, which I love, but it's a bit heavy, and has gotten heavier as I've gotten older. The Les Paul Style guitar has never been a favorite of mine, I saw this PRS had a chambered Body, so I gave it a try. Wow! The neck! Smooth, and kind of like my Jazzmaster in thickness. It felt great! The other thing, I usually don't get along with 24.75" scale guitars. This Guitar was 24.5" scale, which I think a lot of PRS models are 25" scale, didn't realize it. Workmanship is excellent. I'm not use to the color, I usually do white or sunburst, but I'll see past it. I'm sold! I will be picking one up by the end of the month. Enjoyed your playing, you sound fantastic.
Great guitar, I almost bout one in Santana yellow. That color your playing is awesome. Great playing by you. That guitar is probably going to be my next guitar. I just like the way they look and play. Subscribed.
A great looking and sounding guitar, the Blue flame maple top looks stunning. Thanks for telling us about the chunky neck, baseball bat necks are not suited to my small hands, of only you could fit an Ibanez neck! Thanks again Jonathan.
Personally I have smaller hands, but prefer baseball bat thick necks as I don't wrap my thumb around unless I am using it for low E fretwork , I rest the bottom curve of the neck on my thumb and thumb part of the palm which gives a bit greater reach thinner necks I cannot do that as I am always muting the high E string by accident. It also allows me to use my thumb to do a high fret E high string and still have use of all four other fingers just by a slight underlean forward with the wrist allowing some interesting sounds, keep in mind this only works really while standing and on guitars that don't have neck dive. Also keeps me from having a death grip on the neck for normal playing as you only get enough tension to be able to push the strings just enough for the frets without it sliding off your palm. Its one of those things you get used to and when you do it makes it so much easier to play with a satin finish that glides nice on the thumb palm(Love the neck on the H.E.R. Strat because of this) I end up faster than people playing so called thin fast necks
@@nocturnal101ravenous6 I tried to learn on a Fender Strat with a 7.25 radius neck, and found that i soon had cramp like pains in my thumb, i tried changing to a 9.5 neck but same problem. After trying many guitar necks, i settled on an Ibanez RG with a Wizzard 3 neck and the pain was gone We are all different, and to this day i still struggle to play thicker necks.
@@nocturnal101ravenous6 Without them i may never have learned to play, there is a difference between the ones fitted to the RG's compared to the Jem Jr. I Have both a Jem 7v and a Jem Jr, the necks are far better on the Japan made Jem 7v. Just saw this video even though its 1 year ago. This is a fantastic looking guitar but IMO like lots of PRS SE's it would look better with nickel covered pickups. PRS always put open bobbin pickups on the SE line with a very few exceptions. Not saying its looks bad like this but a bit of variety on the models would be nice. Great review.

Hey John. I recently watched your review on another guitar, the LTD Deluxe EC-1001 with Tiger Eye finish. I was considering either that one or this Zach Meyers PRS. In your opinion, what guitar do you consider to be better, or which did you personally like more?
Such a beauty - but why are those backplates standing up, why they don't level them with the back? It wouldn't only look much better, it would not give you those "stoppies" while playing standing on a gig imao. It's a minor issue, but that's the difference to a outstanding guitar i believe. Great review like always. Stay safe
1- Its for cost cutting so they can make it in that price bracket, 2- some people prefer non recessed back plates as its easier to get them off, I have known many people that don't even use backplates because other than the shielding on the control cavities they only serve as dust covers basically.
@@nocturnal101ravenous6 i get what you're talking about and agree for the spring backplates, but the backplate of the switch isn't that often replaced and can be egalized by costs of some cents (they're all done by CNC) and who want's can leave the spring backplates off (like most of us)......
