Some of the items from the bottom of my tier list are not in this video, like Death's Scythe and Iron Staff. If something is missing here it's because I've used those items a bunch since the tier list(s) were published and didn't feel right using them in this run. Sewing Scissors 4 life
I love survival because I started to love slow weapons. There is a unique satisfaction you get when using them to clear multiple enemies at once. Scythe Claw gang 4 life
Dude I wish the best for you, what an underrated youtuber. I'm just a newbie on 1bc but I just love the content, I've been watching this vid while I farm cells for the forge. I really enjoy your content and I can't wait to watch more. I wanna see and high power 1-3 bc run to learn the basics of early game. I will 100 show my friends!
Oh yeah, 100%! I've been thinking about making a video that just shows some deaths and analyzes them like how I did here. I've saved a bunch so think that might be helpful. Side note: Modesto and I were thinking about asking if you'd be interested in doing some kind of collab or video with us. He has a really cool idea I don't want to post publicly yet but I was also thinking about doing some streams or run w/commentary videos if you're up for it. If so let me know! I'm at disappointedgiant on Discord.
@@DisappointedGiant Sorry for the late response, just reading this now. I would love to do a collab with you two, small problem is that i am still a little bit sick because of the dizziness. So for now i can't do it, in a few weeks i (hopefully) can. I will join the discord. Thanx!
@@danielsan0912 I'm sorry to hear that you're still not feeling well! Just saw your Discord request, will message you over there. Hang in, talk soon :)
I just started playing dead cells, about 10-15 hours in and these videos are great for preparing me for what’s to come in the higher BC’s. The breakdown of everything is really helpful, thanks!
Great run! Not surprised at how it turned into this max poison build over time. It really was shredding there near the end. I think your decision to go two melee weapons for biomes was a bit too... risky might be the word. If you look at what you have for tougher spots in biomes at that points, it's turrets, and it's stabby. For defense, you have... dodge roll. I think you analyzing your death and being like "I should have waited for the turrets" is valid, sure, seeing as how they are your only suction to problems, aside from "crit the mans quickly with stabbies". And I think you would have done that if you stopped and asked "what are my defensive options if shit hits the fan? It's not hp. And it's not healing. And it's not anything but dodge roll". If you knew that, intrinsically, having that fact in your back pocket means you'd probably wait for your turrets. I think there's two approaches to this as well: -know your weaknesses AS you play. Dead cells is about risk of maximizing strengths, and minimizing the punishment of mistakes. So if you think "I go flashing fans because they haven't seen much use", then you ALSO gotta respect a power stancing with zero defense and limited range options -other approach is to go "okay yeah, flashing fans would be great for hand of the king, or bosses in general, to build poison. But I'm gonna take magic missiles for biomes cuz of the flexibility". And you cement THAT decision point. ///////// I KNOW you were just trying to showcase thing you didn't use very much, so I think option 1, respecting just how important your cool downs are when your health and flasks are running low, that's probably the best option. In any case, I suck at doing any of what I just said, but I guess my point is that a lot of this game, moment to moment, is played "without thinking"; pure reflexes. And that's why we love it. But in reality, there's a lot of "meta-conclusions" that we can think about, ones that take into account our risk assessment of losing the run, JUST as much as ones about strengths, synergies, and affix stacking. I don't see dead cells content creators talk much about "okay, coming into high peak castle, what ends my run here". Would love to see that thought process voiced aloud more. I'm ALLLLWAYS on some great run, doing well, and then die to something dumb, so I feel like I probably need to do the same thing for myself. Stuck on 4BC currently
Appreciate the feedback, thank you for posting all of this. Totally agree with double melee being too risky since I didn't have a solid backbone of skills or mutations to back them up. I could have used the missiles for the tough stuff and then used the fans for HotK and got some good crits from his bomb barrages. I can't remember exactly what I was thinking when I did this since it was a few months back but I'm pretty sure it was like what you said about using something because they haven't had much use instead of what's the "smart" thing to do. I went back and rewatched the end of this and it's possible that I was just getting fatigued both from poor play and since I don't think I ever got into a groove. I used two potions in about thirty seconds toward the end of the video and my death was just a zero brain cell move, ha! Either way, great idea and I think this ended up being a solid experience and deconstruction of some of the things that happened. Dumb deaths happen to us all!
The thing about spiked boots is that the best thing about them isn't just the damage. The second attack shoots you up in the air quite a bit and allows you to momentum buffer/bounce much higher. Try it with throwing knife.
Video idea: Try heading into cutsom mode qnd turn on every single option possible. Every single modifier possible, no matter if it makes the run harder or easier For stuff, where you input a number, you can use a random number generator or smth It's really hard, but extremely chaotic and one of the most fun things I've ever done in Dead Cells And if you fancy the idea and maybe do a video about it My online name is Karvail Anyways, I personally really enjoy these long form videos from you and other Dead Cells creators Perfect thing for me to watch while eating LMAO
Those modifiers are pretty fun! I haven't done a run like that in a while but I'll have to give it another go. I'll likely make some more accessible videos coming up but will keep this in mind. Thank you for the suggestion!
Great vid as always! This might be a bit unrelated, but I was just wondering what you thought about the Dead Cells immortalis episodes, since people are a bit mixed about it, would love to know what you think. Love your work
Thank you! I haven't watched the series, not sure if I'm going to. I'll hit you up down the line if I end up watching any of it. Have you seen it and if so, did you enjoy it?
@@DisappointedGiant I have seen it, and I like it, sort of. They change up the lore a lot, and the beheaded can speak, so be prepared for those, since they were a bit surprising for me at first :) The animation is completely different from the one in the teaser but I still like it. Overall not really what I expected from a Dead Cells animation, but it’s decent. Each episode is like 8 mins so I atleast recommend checking the first one and see if you’d like to continue from there :D
@@star-crossedallies3667 I just watched the first episode and it was really dumb but also pretty funny. I'll watch the rest! Low commitment and low brainpower sounds pretty good.
Idea: you could cut out transitions between levels and the downtime (parts where you are just running around) like Pseychie(he no longer uploads) But obviously if it's not your kind of thing, these long unedited ones are fine too
Funny you mention that because I've been thinking about doing videos like that, too, hah. I enjoy these full run/stream type videos but may end up putting out more streamlined ones for item/synergy showcases or other more specific runs. Great idea and thank you for the feedback! PS: I did a previous 5BC run that was edited like that (no commentary though). You can check it out here if you're interested: ua-cam.com/video/9nwPsid-AQc/v-deo.html
I think DG needs the extra time for talking, lol. I mean, to be honest, he fills the gaps in time with interesting tangents to talk about. Edits would truncate the time to wrap up tangents and return to the main point lol. I could see both ideas making a good video either way, but stylistically, if uncut videos are easier to upload (yay zero editing), then my preference is two of THOSE over one edited video, as an example.

Death's Sythe would've been too easy and Iron Staff... yeah...
I could listen to that guy for hours
DIP IN THOSE FULL RUNS, BRO! Genuinely always an honor to get to play with you 🙏
Likewise, my man! Always glad to pound cans of Zevia, eat a fat burrito, and yell out "fuckin' MAGIC MAN" whenever someone dies to a curse.

This game might be much better if there were various curse types alongside with the insta kill one. Can you also make a syringe showcase with combo?
That's a fun combination, especially against some bosses like Giant or 2nd Dracula. Thanks for the suggestion!
