one thing i do is when im in a challenge rift and the necklace from the chest doesnt match my color i use it to increase my hp during the rift since having more evenly distributed scrolls is better hp this applies to almost every rift i go in but once i accidentally recycled my original necklace so be careful ig

Ok but correct me if I'm wrong, aren't the enemies found in each biome different in 1BC compared to 2BC?... Or is it that once you get a new boss cell the enemy types in each biome change regardless of the number of boss cells you're using?
@@Remag123I get what you mean, getting good at 1bc doesn’t let you get used to the difficulty of 2bc per se, but I think what they meant was get better at the game in general by being able to beat 1bc more consistently in order to prepare for 2bc better
@@Remag123the enemies change depending on the active Boss Stem Cells, not how many you have gotten so far. So you can have all 5 boss cells, activate only 1, and the monsters you face will be the usual 1bc monsters(so no oven knight, no Rampagers, etc., only knife throwers).
@@nashhhhh41 Right, I get that but if the enemies are different, will becoming good at 1BC actually prepare you for the enemies in 2BC? I think you would be better off learning the patterns of the 2BC enemies. I'm now on 5BC and, just for fun, decided to see how I'd do at 1BC and the challenge was the same as I remember it. What made it easy was I could get some many health flasks between biomes.

Absolutely, I'd even recommend doing that at 0BC, it's one of the most powerful mechanics. Just be careful with Armadilliopack and Assault Shield, their timings are a bit different.
Omg, in all my time playing this game across 3 platforms and upto 2bc I have never even looked at the exclamation marks on the affixes, this is going to be super helpful and game changing so I can find synergies.
I just got such a golden 3bc run, I am baffled at my luck. I was having so much trouble, dying before I even made it to clocktower, so I decided to play the long game and play slow. In said run, I got a corrupted artifact AND the fragment of the Philosopher's stone within 5 monster kills at Promenade, setting my gold count in 6 digits. That made affix rerolling and flask buying so easy. On top of that, I managed to get Legendary Flint(from altar) and Legendary Rapier(from slasher nearby altar) inside Prison Depths. From Flawless Concierge, I got legendary stun grenade. Cashing in the Rapier, I porcupacked the flint for crits while using Spite Sword. I kid you not, even at HPC, I was decimating elites with a single roll. Fast forward to HPC, I open a secret chest and guess what dropped. Level VIII++ GiantKiller. Switched it for spite sword, and spent all my 70k gold to synergize affixes, and then went to HotK with 28 Brutality scrolls. Easiest HotK win of my Life. Got my 4th BC. I will probably never top this luck, ever!
I tested the baseball bat on 3 bc and just broke the game on my Second try, now I'm struggling because the giant doesn't get destroyed by the baseball bat

This was incredibly refreshing to see. Every other guide video I've seen has had some advice that is fundamentally incorrect but everything here is excellent. The game's official discord is also a great resource for people who want to know more about the finer details of the game, as it has the highest concentration of experienced players out of any forum about the game that I've seen.
Thank you so much for these guides! I randomly found them because I started playing again after about two years. Back then I felt pretty satisfied to where I got (got 2BC but never tried it), but looking back I noticed I really got not even half way there in my DC journey. I'm an Isaac player and if anyone else plays it too, it basically equates to beating It Lives and stopping there, you have so much to see yet! In any case, these guides have been incredible at helping me get better again after so long and encouraging me to keep trying! I learned a ton from the 0 and 1 BC ones and now I'm pretty consistently getting to the Hand of the King with a full Health Flask (and still dying lol). One question I have is that, I know stories in roguelikes are hard to follow, but I really didn't remember how the game started and what you've learned until 2 BC (for example, I didn't even remember the throne wasn't empty on your first full playthrough until I saw the scene in one of your vids I think), so is there a way to catch up on that side of things to where I am now without getting totally spoiled? I haven't seen this video in full because I want to at least beat 2BC before going any further, so I apologize if you mentioned it somewhere in there! Thanks again and sorry for the long comment!

I haven't played Isaac but when I read your analogy I thought of Hades, where some people play until they beat the game a few times to get the ending and then stop... there's so much more content after that! I don't think I get into story stuff in this video but there's not too much that's revealed outside of that first ending. I'm on 3BC since septemper 2023, really stuck on this and made a pause for a month. And after that I started to learn how to use shields so I finally achieved the HOTK (I was really far from this before the pause) but couldn't beat him. But anyway it's a nice feeling when you learned something new and can make a progress.

10:50 that roll was *so* hard but I did it eventually. Ended up just attaching to the top of the wall and mashing jump and roll until I got through each side.

Thought this channel had like 100k subs considering how good the editing is! Just cleared 1bc and got to hotk first go in 2bc but my damage was so subpar. Will have to get used to taking cursed chests for more scrolls No health charges in passages in 4bc looks rough though!

It's kinda wild this guide is 6 months ago. I wish this was here two years when I bought Dead Cells... I keep dying over and over at 2BC that my '++' forge is already maxed by the time I got to 3BC. After a year of hiatus, I went back to the game and tried to getting used to take cursed chests, and I managed to hit 26 Brutality scrolls on 2BC, which never happens before because I waa afraid of curse... Turns out cursed chests isn't so bad after all! I'll be back (prolly in a few months-) for the 5BC guide. Still got some secret weapon scrolls to unlock! Edit: How dare I not thank you for the great guide. Thank you very much! Your guidance combined with my friend's experienced tips really helped a lot.

Your eyes aren't deceiving you! They added that feature to the game in v2.9 as part of the Breaking Barriers accessibility update, so it's a more recent update.
just got the game last week randomly cuz i liked the cover art, and now im addicted lol got to throne room once in 0bc on a random run where i got the baseball and a lot of brutality scrolls. finally found out how to get to draculas real castle and the medusa thing i ran into just whooped me, barely scratched it.

@@98ore I personally like Wolf Trap but it doesn't always work since some enemies can't be rooted. It's tough to say what's "good" since there are so many different uses for different items. The basic advice I have is to try everything you have to see what you like and to learn more about each playstyle (fast melee for Brutality, ranged for Tactics, heavy close combat for Survival). I have a beginner's guide video up that has some more info on trying different things out and how each color/style works, so I recommend checking that out!

It can be tough! Try to position yourself right under the hole when you jump into the wall, and then when you jump and roll press toward the hole. If you're playing on a controller I recommend using the d-pad or Joy Con buttons instead of the analog stick since it's more precise.

That revelation about the cursed chest at the 2.5 biomes was unexpected, but I have tried a lot now and still can't seem to get through that gap. How to do it?
It takes a little practice. I find it's best to press jump right after pressing roll but you may need to try some different timings to see how it works best for you.
@DisappointedGiant I play on Android so i guess maybe that quick click thing is the cause of my failure. But, I found out a few days ago that there is some sort of bug that prevents this door from closing once you go through if you spam your homunculus both through the door and through the hole above, while standing just outside the cursed chest room. I posted a video on it in reddit as well. Though, I speak of this bug as of 3.3.15.
i just beated the hand of the king in 1bc and i was wondering when is worth it to buy new weapons ? i aways buy before the time keeper and is worth it to reroll weapons or just buy a new one 1 level higher ?
It depends on the item but I generally don't buy any weapons until after the Corrupted Prison or Prison Depths. Before Time Keeper is a good time, too, since that's higher gear level. If a weapon is one level higher it doesn't make that much of a difference in damage. At this point the affixes are where it's at! Using rerolls to make sure you have good synergies between weapons is really important and is sometimes better than just going for a newer gear.
These videos have been quite helpful, thanks for making them! I've had the "secret zone visibility" option turned on, but I'm not noticing any difference. What should I be looking out for?
I'm glad these have been helpful for you! The secret visibility option makes secret areas in walls and ceilings a little easier to see. Think of where the Quick Bow blueprint is at the beginning of the Prisoner's Quarters or the area in the Graveyard behind where the key is. The walls look like they have little holes or bubbles in them, and that option makes that effect more visible. I hope that makes sense!

on the part were you talk about bypassing the wall on corrupted prison/prison depths to reach the corrupted chest after you have passed the locked door, i was unable to go through the small gap even after half an hour, i play on switch i dont know if i am just bad or switch joycons are not fast enough to execute the maneuver properly (i have reached 3 bc thank you for your guide)
Congratulations on reaching 3BC, that's great! I've done that trick on Switch with the Joy Cons before so I was able to get it to work. It might be trickier since the Joy Cons are a little less sturdy than a normal controller. When I'm on the Switch I use the d-pad to play, not the analog stick. I can break down the steps in more detail, maybe that'll help? Double jump up and hold on to the wall under the little hole, while pressing toward the direction of the wall. Jump to release from the wall, and then jump again while pressing roll immediately after that second jump. Think about rolling your thumb right from jump to roll. Hold toward the wall as you roll and you should make it through (I hope!). It may take some practice but I hope you can get the trick to work since it's really useful. Let me know how things go!
BC means boss cells. When you beat the game you get your first boss cell (1BC) then can increase the difficulty so you can get the second (2BC). You can change the difficulty at the beginning of the game.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! One of my favorite survival weapons comes from the Bank (Gold Digger) so if you like heavier/slower gameplay I recommend going there to grab that blueprint. Otherwise I don't think it's worth going there that often. It's *so* long compared to other levels, enemies are tough, and you don't get any extra scrolls. I'll go on occasion if I'm in the mood for something different or to get top level gear if it takes the place of the final tier biomes (Cavern, Clock Tower, etc.) but often skip it.

Hello, I've been watching a lot of your videos recently. I just got to 1BC, how do you determine which stat to upgrade in the first level if we end up replacing the starting gear early on? I have a few things unlocked. Do you start off telling yourself you're only going to go Brutality this run, etc? Like I usually end up not being sure and pumping brutality and then a survival weapon drops and I have 1 survival
Great question! Since it's best to take both of the scrolls in the Prisoners' Quarters as the same color I'll make the decision on what stat I'm going to play before I get my first stat. Sometimes I'll wait to see if anything good drops in the level before I take it, and other times I'll just want to play a certain color and will take those scrolls even if I don't have much of a build yet. I find that I can generally get a good weapon somewhere in the first level or two that matches my color and then I just ramp up from there. If something happens like what you mention I would give the survival weapon a big :( as I recycle it, and then maybe I'll play that next time.
Damn your editing style, music and script has no right being THIS good for someone with only 1.7k subs. Also I’m kinda torn. I managed to beat 1BC last week but have been stuck on 2BC. Should I try to get some clears for 1BC first or continue trying to grind 2BC? I’ve been trying to experiment with survival and tactics as I used brutality to get both my 0BC and 1BC. I just can’t make it past 2 biomes without dying to a curse or getting deleted in one fight without being able to use a flask. I just love the doubled cells and farming with enticed biomes.
I'd say it may be helpful to hang back on 1BC for a bit and get a few more clears, especially if you're trying out new builds and items. Tactics has the lowest HP out of the bunch, too. You are 100% right about the double cell drops at 2BC, though. It's SO tempting! If you want to stay at 2BC (even though it's tough!) it might be worth finding the biomes you're most comfortable with and then consistently taking that path during your runs to get into the groove. Like, if you have better luck taking the Sewers then lean into that for now until you feel good about that path and then chase other biomes. That way you can build up to some consistent progress and either dump those extra cells into unlocks or the forge after the first boss. I hope things go smoothly for you - let me know how it goes! However check out HotK too (still on 2 BC) and you may find something useful that makes your initial biomes easier or just more enjoyable to conquer (and much faster too). I've took the same way, beat the queen on 2BC (since I failed really bad on HotK too many times), but then seen some nice videos about tubes and BC guides ;) Yes it was this one :D For me it took like 2-3 months to clear 2BC, and around 2-300 runs :/ I was really stuck on it... my first chance on a really optimized starfury build did the trick. Yes, I truly did not use the bow in the boss fight.
Hey there! You can get that outfit by finishing a run on any BC without taking any trap damage (spike pits, lava, ball and chains, etc.). Once you do that and beat Hand of the King the outfit will unlock automatically.
4:28 plus enemy reaction and attack times are MUCH faster. Ive tested this. It takes milliseconds for an enemy to notice you and attack as soon as you’re in their vicinity, whereas on 1BC and below they’re as slow as a dried booger sliding down a wall in the rain 🙃 PS Mobs that can attack through walls can suck my 🤬
lol dried booger sliding down a wall is such a funny analogy XD I've been playing this game for many years and many hours and I *still* hate and have trouble dealing with Inquisitors. I don't mind the enemies that jump through walls like Demons or Rampagers but Inquisitors and Arbiters are (and always have been) a huge pain.
Minor correction (or maybe less of a correction and more a mechanics tidbit you might not have thought worth mentioning that I think is good to know), but the base item level of a biome is not the item level you'll find everything at since various item sources give 1 or 2 extra item levels. The only really notable one is shops which give +2, so it's very worth looking at shops even if your gear level is close to what's listed as the base level of the biome.
Good point! I could have worded that better by saying that base gear level increases but also that the usual +1/+2 from chests/shops still applies and that shops have higher gear. Now that the video is up (and I can't edit it lol) I'm realizing I should have spent more time talking about the difference in item levels from various sources. Soo I first tried 2BC, can continuously beat it, but I’m heavily struggling to get even past 3BC‘s second boss. Do you maybe know, how I could improve?
Make sure you upgrade the Forge as much as you can and take some defensive mutations if you need some extra protection (Gastronomy, Disengagement, etc.). If there's a certain build you like or weapons that work for you try to build around those to see if that helps. Keep at it!

Also another thing that helps for me for some reason ls wearing blue tinted sunglasses I have no idea why but it makes the game clearer for me and no i’m not colorblind You should probably check into this as well because it’s weird and maybe it’s a common thing Maybe some people have different color tints that gives the same effect as me Or maybe i’m crazy You decide

So i am right now stuck at 3bc (only gotten to HOTK once on 3bc ) and i have ++maxed. I hear so many people say 3bc was alot easier but for me having alot less healling is really hard but hopefully i can get a good run and just win it

Eh, not at all! I think using a mod to get cells for the forge is totally reasonable since it's such a grind. Maybe not for the regular weapons/upgrades since that's part of the regular difficulty curve but you do you :)
Every time I take a break from the game I immediately lose all skill I had, so I was going through the Cavern on 3BC and then took a 2 hour break and now I can’t even make it through Prisoners Quarters on 2BC! This happens every time I take a break and it takes over an hour to actually play good again. Does anyone else have this problem? And if so did you find a solution?
This happens to me sometimes. I've had great runs where I've paused for a few hours or until the next day and when I went back to them I got wrecked. There's a flow with Dead Cells and it might be hard to readjust after taking a break.

@@coffeedude OH! You need to beat Hand of the King on 1+BC in order to get them. I forgot about other bosses dropping cells but not that blueprint. Once you get the blueprint it'll show up in the Collector's menu like normal.
BC = boss cell, which is difficulty level. When you beat the game you get your first boss cell (1BC) and can increase the difficulty of the game, which allows you to get the next one (2BC), etc.
The increased damage makes a difference, too. Have you tried different color builds? Playing survival with Necromancy/Gastronomy/Soldier's Resistance for mutations might help out.
Im surprised that people got through 3BC easily. For some reason, i keep losing, and I have a lot of stuff and the forge for me is almost filled to the max.
On my first run, I did great. I got to the forgotten sepulcher, but died clumsily from a curse. I haven't been able to get out from toxic sewers or the promenade since then, mostly due to rampages in groups of inquisitors, zombies, rats, and buzz cutters.
@@ibeorange5217 It's nice to see you're mixing up your runs. On 3+BC it can take some time before a build comes together so it makes sense that those early levels are causing some trouble. At least for me, I notice that the first couple of biomes feel tougher than later ones; once weapons get higher quality and scroll count goes up it feels a bit more balanced, usually after the first boss. Rampagers are one of the few enemies that will chase you in 3BC so you can try to take it slow and kite them out of crowds to deal with them 1-1. When they're surrounded by other enemies (inquisitors ugh) they can be rough! They always have the same attack though, so if you can learn that timing it might get more familiar. If you're not taking Disengagement and/or Gastronomy those are good picks to save a death and get extra healing from foods. Good luck! im at bc 5 and struggle with interest. this game is the definition of on and off. i play it for a week and get bored and stop playing vor 2-3 months and go back at it. its hardcore what it expects of me, constant concentration for 2 hours if you really want to beat BC5. look at me, talking about it like i finished the game. ts.
one thing i do is when im in a challenge rift and the necklace from the chest doesnt match my color i use it to increase my hp during the rift since having more evenly distributed scrolls is better hp this applies to almost every rift i go in but once i accidentally recycled my original necklace so be careful ig

Ok but correct me if I'm wrong, aren't the enemies found in each biome different in 1BC compared to 2BC?... Or is it that once you get a new boss cell the enemy types in each biome change regardless of the number of boss cells you're using?
@@Remag123I get what you mean, getting good at 1bc doesn’t let you get used to the difficulty of 2bc per se, but I think what they meant was get better at the game in general by being able to beat 1bc more consistently in order to prepare for 2bc better
@@Remag123the enemies change depending on the active Boss Stem Cells, not how many you have gotten so far. So you can have all 5 boss cells, activate only 1, and the monsters you face will be the usual 1bc monsters(so no oven knight, no Rampagers, etc., only knife throwers).
@@nashhhhh41 Right, I get that but if the enemies are different, will becoming good at 1BC actually prepare you for the enemies in 2BC? I think you would be better off learning the patterns of the 2BC enemies. I'm now on 5BC and, just for fun, decided to see how I'd do at 1BC and the challenge was the same as I remember it. What made it easy was I could get some many health flasks between biomes.

Absolutely, I'd even recommend doing that at 0BC, it's one of the most powerful mechanics. Just be careful with Armadilliopack and Assault Shield, their timings are a bit different.
Omg, in all my time playing this game across 3 platforms and upto 2bc I have never even looked at the exclamation marks on the affixes, this is going to be super helpful and game changing so I can find synergies.
I just got such a golden 3bc run, I am baffled at my luck. I was having so much trouble, dying before I even made it to clocktower, so I decided to play the long game and play slow.
In said run, I got a corrupted artifact AND the fragment of the Philosopher's stone within 5 monster kills at Promenade, setting my gold count in 6 digits. That made affix rerolling and flask buying so easy. On top of that, I managed to get Legendary Flint(from altar) and Legendary Rapier(from slasher nearby altar) inside Prison Depths. From Flawless Concierge, I got legendary stun grenade. Cashing in the Rapier, I porcupacked the flint for crits while using Spite Sword. I kid you not, even at HPC, I was decimating elites with a single roll.
Fast forward to HPC, I open a secret chest and guess what dropped. Level VIII++ GiantKiller. Switched it for spite sword, and spent all my 70k gold to synergize affixes, and then went to HotK with 28 Brutality scrolls. Easiest HotK win of my Life. Got my 4th BC.
I will probably never top this luck, ever!

Thank you so much for these guides! I randomly found them because I started playing again after about two years. Back then I felt pretty satisfied to where I got (got 2BC but never tried it), but looking back I noticed I really got not even half way there in my DC journey. I'm an Isaac player and if anyone else plays it too, it basically equates to beating It Lives and stopping there, you have so much to see yet!
In any case, these guides have been incredible at helping me get better again after so long and encouraging me to keep trying! I learned a ton from the 0 and 1 BC ones and now I'm pretty consistently getting to the Hand of the King with a full Health Flask (and still dying lol). One question I have is that, I know stories in roguelikes are hard to follow, but I really didn't remember how the game started and what you've learned until 2 BC (for example, I didn't even remember the throne wasn't empty on your first full playthrough until I saw the scene in one of your vids I think), so is there a way to catch up on that side of things to where I am now without getting totally spoiled? I haven't seen this video in full because I want to at least beat 2BC before going any further, so I apologize if you mentioned it somewhere in there!

There's also some big story lore that gets explained by the Giant the first time you fight him. I wasn't able to find a video of that in particular and I don't have footage myself, but the Wiki does explain what happens if you want to see it. Most of the actual story and lore is discovered through the lore rooms around the island, so if you want to put some more of the pieces together I recommend checking those out when you come across them.

I'm on 3BC since septemper 2023, really stuck on this and made a pause for a month. And after that I started to learn how to use shields so I finally achieved the HOTK (I was really far from this before the pause) but couldn't beat him. But anyway it's a nice feeling when you learned something new and can make a progress.

Broken flasks in 4 (and 5) BC is a pretty rough adjustment, for sure. They do ease you into it a bit starting at 2BC but that doesn't make it feel any better. Congrats on getting to HotK in 2BC! Hopefully getting some better gear or finding something good in a cursed chest will get that DPS up for you.

It's kinda wild this guide is 6 months ago. I wish this was here two years when I bought Dead Cells...
I keep dying over and over at 2BC that my '++' forge is already maxed by the time I got to 3BC. After a year of hiatus, I went back to the game and tried to getting used to take cursed chests, and I managed to hit 26 Brutality scrolls on 2BC, which never happens before because I waa afraid of curse... Turns out cursed chests isn't so bad after all!
I'll be back (prolly in a few months-) for the 5BC guide. Still got some secret weapon scrolls to unlock!

I’ve been playing this game on and off since it came out in 2018, and I never realised that synergise affixes had exclamation marks on them.
Your eyes aren't deceiving you! They added that feature to the game in v2.9 as part of the Breaking Barriers accessibility update, so it's a more recent update.

@@98ore I personally like Wolf Trap but it doesn't always work since some enemies can't be rooted. It's tough to say what's "good" since there are so many different uses for different items. The basic advice I have is to try everything you have to see what you like and to learn more about each playstyle (fast melee for Brutality, ranged for Tactics, heavy close combat for Survival). I have a beginner's guide video up that has some more info on trying different things out and how each color/style works, so I recommend checking that out!

How do you do that double jump roll into the cursed chest room in Prison depths? I am trying so hard but cant seem to get the roll at all!
It can be tough! Try to position yourself right under the hole when you jump into the wall, and then when you jump and roll press toward the hole. If you're playing on a controller I recommend using the d-pad or Joy Con buttons instead of the analog stick since it's more precise.
I always use the invincibility of the animation between opening a chest and scrolls and it saved be couple of times even before i got to 3 bc

That revelation about the cursed chest at the 2.5 biomes was unexpected, but I have tried a lot now and still can't seem to get through that gap. How to do it?
It takes a little practice. I find it's best to press jump right after pressing roll but you may need to try some different timings to see how it works best for you.
@DisappointedGiant I play on Android so i guess maybe that quick click thing is the cause of my failure.
But, I found out a few days ago that there is some sort of bug that prevents this door from closing once you go through if you spam your homunculus both through the door and through the hole above, while standing just outside the cursed chest room. I posted a video on it in reddit as well. Though, I speak of this bug as of 3.3.15.

It depends on the item but I generally don't buy any weapons until after the Corrupted Prison or Prison Depths. Before Time Keeper is a good time, too, since that's higher gear level.
If a weapon is one level higher it doesn't make that much of a difference in damage. At this point the affixes are where it's at! Using rerolls to make sure you have good synergies between weapons is really important and is sometimes better than just going for a newer gear.

I've had the "secret zone visibility" option turned on, but I'm not noticing any difference. What should I be looking out for?
I'm glad these have been helpful for you! The secret visibility option makes secret areas in walls and ceilings a little easier to see. Think of where the Quick Bow blueprint is at the beginning of the Prisoner's Quarters or the area in the Graveyard behind where the key is. The walls look like they have little holes or bubbles in them, and that option makes that effect more visible. I hope that makes sense!

Congratulations on reaching 3BC, that's great! I've done that trick on Switch with the Joy Cons before so I was able to get it to work. It might be trickier since the Joy Cons are a little less sturdy than a normal controller. When I'm on the Switch I use the d-pad to play, not the analog stick. I can break down the steps in more detail, maybe that'll help?
Double jump up and hold on to the wall under the little hole, while pressing toward the direction of the wall. Jump to release from the wall, and then jump again while pressing roll immediately after that second jump. Think about rolling your thumb right from jump to roll. Hold toward the wall as you roll and you should make it through (I hope!). It may take some practice but I hope you can get the trick to work since it's really useful. Let me know how things go!

BC means boss cells. When you beat the game you get your first boss cell (1BC) then can increase the difficulty so you can get the second (2BC). You can change the difficulty at the beginning of the game.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video! One of my favorite survival weapons comes from the Bank (Gold Digger) so if you like heavier/slower gameplay I recommend going there to grab that blueprint. Otherwise I don't think it's worth going there that often. It's *so* long compared to other levels, enemies are tough, and you don't get any extra scrolls. I'll go on occasion if I'm in the mood for something different or to get top level gear if it takes the place of the final tier biomes (Cavern, Clock Tower, etc.) but often skip it.

Hello, I've been watching a lot of your videos recently. I just got to 1BC, how do you determine which stat to upgrade in the first level if we end up replacing the starting gear early on? I have a few things unlocked. Do you start off telling yourself you're only going to go Brutality this run, etc? Like I usually end up not being sure and pumping brutality and then a survival weapon drops and I have 1 survival
Great question! Since it's best to take both of the scrolls in the Prisoners' Quarters as the same color I'll make the decision on what stat I'm going to play before I get my first stat. Sometimes I'll wait to see if anything good drops in the level before I take it, and other times I'll just want to play a certain color and will take those scrolls even if I don't have much of a build yet. I find that I can generally get a good weapon somewhere in the first level or two that matches my color and then I just ramp up from there. If something happens like what you mention I would give the survival weapon a big :( as I recycle it, and then maybe I'll play that next time.

Also I’m kinda torn. I managed to beat 1BC last week but have been stuck on 2BC. Should I try to get some clears for 1BC first or continue trying to grind 2BC? I’ve been trying to experiment with survival and tactics as I used brutality to get both my 0BC and 1BC. I just can’t make it past 2 biomes without dying to a curse or getting deleted in one fight without being able to use a flask. I just love the doubled cells and farming with enticed biomes.
I'd say it may be helpful to hang back on 1BC for a bit and get a few more clears, especially if you're trying out new builds and items. Tactics has the lowest HP out of the bunch, too. You are 100% right about the double cell drops at 2BC, though. It's SO tempting!
If you want to stay at 2BC (even though it's tough!) it might be worth finding the biomes you're most comfortable with and then consistently taking that path during your runs to get into the groove. Like, if you have better luck taking the Sewers then lean into that for now until you feel good about that path and then chase other biomes. That way you can build up to some consistent progress and either dump those extra cells into unlocks or the forge after the first boss. I hope things go smoothly for you - let me know how it goes!

For me it took like 2-3 months to clear 2BC, and around 2-300 runs :/ I was really stuck on it... my first chance on a really optimized starfury build did the trick. Yes, I truly did not use the bow in the boss fight.

Hey there! You can get that outfit by finishing a run on any BC without taking any trap damage (spike pits, lava, ball and chains, etc.). Once you do that and beat Hand of the King the outfit will unlock automatically.

4:28 plus enemy reaction and attack times are MUCH faster. Ive tested this. It takes milliseconds for an enemy to notice you and attack as soon as you’re in their vicinity, whereas on 1BC and below they’re as slow as a dried booger sliding down a wall in the rain 🙃

I've been playing this game for many years and many hours and I *still* hate and have trouble dealing with Inquisitors. I don't mind the enemies that jump through walls like Demons or Rampagers but Inquisitors and Arbiters are (and always have been) a huge pain.
Minor correction (or maybe less of a correction and more a mechanics tidbit you might not have thought worth mentioning that I think is good to know), but the base item level of a biome is not the item level you'll find everything at since various item sources give 1 or 2 extra item levels. The only really notable one is shops which give +2, so it's very worth looking at shops even if your gear level is close to what's listed as the base level of the biome.
Good point! I could have worded that better by saying that base gear level increases but also that the usual +1/+2 from chests/shops still applies and that shops have higher gear. Now that the video is up (and I can't edit it lol) I'm realizing I should have spent more time talking about the difference in item levels from various sources. Soo I first tried 2BC, can continuously beat it, but I’m heavily struggling to get even past 3BC‘s second boss. Do you maybe know, how I could improve?
Make sure you upgrade the Forge as much as you can and take some defensive mutations if you need some extra protection (Gastronomy, Disengagement, etc.). If there's a certain build you like or weapons that work for you try to build around those to see if that helps. Keep at it!
Another way is to farm boss rush, there is a forge at the end and generally gets 200-300 per run (faster with assist mode)

turn on legendary get trowable object and the cross for less moving bosses turn the the mode which has birds everywhere hitchdork i guess for extra cells and mutiple jump for ease stat masssacaring the enemies for no hit boss costumes get the legenday ice armor(i use this for hard boss fights such as the higher difficulty servants)

When I replayed the game, I didn’t upgrade the forge at all until 4bc. I just relied on whatever I got in cursed chests because it’s S tier.
That's wild! It takes some skill to stick with default quality and just use random items from the cursed chest. Nice!

So i am right now stuck at 3bc (only gotten to HOTK once on 3bc ) and i have ++maxed. I hear so many people say 3bc was alot easier but for me having alot less healling is really hard but hopefully i can get a good run and just win it

Also about the Cell grinding There is a mod on the workshop called 100x cells i don’t think i need to elaborate it is what i used but it is kinda morally questionable
Eh, not at all! I think using a mod to get cells for the forge is totally reasonable since it's such a grind. Maybe not for the regular weapons/upgrades since that's part of the regular difficulty curve but you do you :)
Every time I take a break from the game I immediately lose all skill I had, so I was going through the Cavern on 3BC and then took a 2 hour break and now I can’t even make it through Prisoners Quarters on 2BC! This happens every time I take a break and it takes over an hour to actually play good again.
Does anyone else have this problem? And if so did you find a solution?
This happens to me sometimes. I've had great runs where I've paused for a few hours or until the next day and when I went back to them I got wrecked. There's a flow with Dead Cells and it might be hard to readjust after taking a break.

Custom mode doesn't lock achivements you just need to have more than 20 items unlocked and that modifier turned off

You need to beat one of the final bosses on 1BC without any aspects, which will unlock 2BC.
What's crazy is that I have 100 hours in this game (4bc currently) and I didn't know a decent chunk of this stuff.
I defeat final boss twice and I can't increase the BC iplay on mobile
Check custom mode and make sure you don't have an aspect enabled.

@@coffeedude OH! You need to beat Hand of the King on 1+BC in order to get them. I forgot about other bosses dropping cells but not that blueprint. Once you get the blueprint it'll show up in the Collector's menu like normal.

What is bc???
BC = boss cell, which is difficulty level. When you beat the game you get your first boss cell (1BC) and can increase the difficulty of the game, which allows you to get the next one (2BC), etc.
After years of trying, I finally managed to clear 3BC. All thanks to the Frantic Sword for meshing so well with my unga bunga style.

Im really struggling on 3BC. The RNG makes it difficult to create a good build.
The increased damage makes a difference, too. Have you tried different color builds? Playing survival with Necromancy/Gastronomy/Soldier's Resistance for mutations might help out.
Im surprised that people got through 3BC easily. For some reason, i keep losing, and I have a lot of stuff and the forge for me is almost filled to the max.
How far have you made it into 3BC? Is there a specific part or boss that's causing more trouble for you?
On my first run, I did great. I got to the forgotten sepulcher, but died clumsily from a curse. I haven't been able to get out from toxic sewers or the promenade since then, mostly due to rampages in groups of inquisitors, zombies, rats, and buzz cutters.
@@ibeorange5217 It's nice to see you're mixing up your runs. On 3+BC it can take some time before a build comes together so it makes sense that those early levels are causing some trouble. At least for me, I notice that the first couple of biomes feel tougher than later ones; once weapons get higher quality and scroll count goes up it feels a bit more balanced, usually after the first boss. Rampagers are one of the few enemies that will chase you in 3BC so you can try to take it slow and kite them out of crowds to deal with them 1-1. When they're surrounded by other enemies (inquisitors ugh) they can be rough! They always have the same attack though, so if you can learn that timing it might get more familiar. If you're not taking Disengagement and/or Gastronomy those are good picks to save a death and get extra healing from foods. Good luck! im at bc 5 and struggle with interest. this game is the definition of on and off. i play it for a week and get bored and stop playing vor 2-3 months and go back at it.
its hardcore what it expects of me, constant concentration for 2 hours if you really want to beat BC5. look at me, talking about it like i finished the game. ts.
I love having an insane ice crossbow build and autopiloting into giant, it is my favourite 4bc activity. :)
