So sad that we have lost him, I was so lucky to see Led Zepp at Knebworth '79 one of Bonzo' s last concerts
This was actually video from a live performance in Australia with audio from, I believe, the LA Forum.......because there was no live footage of this song with audio available.
Yes, the video footage was from the Sydney Showgrounds. People started in the stands (as per agreement with the Showgrounds Trust), but as soon as the music started, fans rushed out onto the oval. No two-bit security guards were going to stop that. I thought the audio was from a Canadian performance. Doesn't matter, the video was spliced wonderfully well into the audio track.
I like how you mentioned that Zeppelin took their sound very seriously. For me, that's one of the little things that makes them great. In all of their studio versions of their songs the mixing is on point. They do a lot of little things in some songs like with panning, having the vocals echo before the actual vocals, leaving in vocals from other takes in the background, and in their song "When the Levee Breaks" (another great song you should check out btw) they actually recorded the instruments at a faster tempo than the singer and slowed it down to match the singer and it makes it feel so heavy. Not trying to sway you to listening to the studio versions, I get why you like the live performances and I like watching them for the first time with you.
One of the secrets to Led Zep's sound and the certain "groove" they had was because of the way in many of the songs Bonham locks into the pocket of Jimmy's guitar riff rather than the bass line of JPJ. There's an actual in-depth analysis of this on UA-cam. Really enjoying your reactions. Despite being from a totally different genre your insights are very thoughtful and fresh.
Zep's influence in Rock and heavy metal is immense. I usually don't sub to reactor channels but your treatment of Led Zeppelin is so appreciative I had to sub to your channel.
Jimmy Page was a stickler for detail and perfection even in live performances! Unbelievable drumming in Kashmir live 1979 at Knebworth and Achillies Last Stand same concert!!
With all respect, as I see you commenting all around the internet on Zeppelin reactions and you seem to be just as big of a Zeppelin fan and connoisseur as I am. Also, you are a patriot which I love. But I think Pages drug addiction really destroyed a lot of his live playing 1975 and later. A lot of it is hard for me to listen to as a guitar player whose single biggest influence is Page. Yes, I butchered all kinda of grammatical laws during that lol. I just woke up from a nap lol
@@TheVirtualNHL that’s why when I listen to Jimmy on his solo Outrigger album, or with Coverdale/Page or in the O2 concert, I am at the same time joyful and sad....because he had several “lost years” of great playing due to drugs when he should have been at his very peak. If you two are Zeppelin fans, then you ought to be on Soul Train Bro’s channel....most in-depth Zeppelin reactor on UA-cam. He’s done all the albums, all the official live concerts, the movie TSRTS and now into bootlegs and heading into their solo careers.
@@TheVirtualNHL - Yeah i was thinking this too. Page is actually the loosest and sloppiest guitar player of all time. Particularly beyond 1975. Perhaps a perfectionist as a producer but not a live player. That said he is still my all time favorite and i find his live playing more interesting than anybody.
Bonham's influence was the great Buddie Rich, and Gene Krupa, and Roach. Everyone is influenced by someone and it's kind of interesting to hear and identify the influence. So good job!
I still get the "goosies" (chicken skin) when I hear them! I'm 60, and I still crank the volume as high as it goes when I'm driving & Zeppelin comes on the radio. ❤❤❤❤

It almost pisses me off how good JB is. The dexterity. The hand/eye coordination. The ability to hear what you're hearing and react to it at the speed of sound while never missing a beat. I'm pretty sure he sold his soul to be that good.
Bonham is one of most famous drummers of all time; probably one the most famous because there are so many, but one of best three drummers of all time. Wait! I’m hearing you doing Pink Floyd in the background! Another winner!!!!!!

Please look into The Ocean, Ten Years Gone, Bron- Y- Aur Stomp. Honestly, can't go wrong with Any of their songs..they have a beautiful catalog of music!
I completely understood what you said about Axel snagging some of Robert Plants sound. Just like axel borrowed his dance from The Monkeys “Daydream believer”.
I was having a really bad day and this made me smile. Lol I almost jumped up and screamed Hell Yes, he didn't apologize lmao Great Great Great reaction
One of my friends was seeing them in Baltimore in '73 when they blew the circuit breaker for the main PA system. He said that for the half-minute or so it took for someone to reset it, they were left with just the stage monitors, and it sounded like every garage band that ever tried to cover Zeppelin (done really well of course). They really are gods, but it's comforting to know that some of the secret is just raw amplification.
So funny about the peeps getting upset about you saying Zep influenced other bands. It's a well known fact that Zep is considered to have influenced more rock bands than any other band except the Beatles. From the way they looked, performed and played to the way they acted on and off stage, bands have been copying Zeppelin from day one in one way or another. In the 70's - 90's I can't tell you how many bands have been called the next Led Zeppelin. A band called "White Snake" who became fairly popular in the 90's were formed explicitly to sound and look as much like Zeppelin as possible. The similarities to varying degrees of so many bands to Zeppelin in one way or another is crazy. So for the GNR fans to get annoyed when you say Axel did something that Plant did 20 years earlier is just silly for them to get upset by. As long as it sounds good, so what if he did copy Plant in some way? Eddie Van Halen gets credit for inventing playing his guitar strings with his fingers instead of a pick but if you keep doing live versions of Zeppelin stuff, you will see Jimmy Page doing the same thing at times at least 5 years before anyone heard of Van Halen. And Page will be the first to admit he saw people before him doing it. Heck, Zeppelin "borrowed" much of their stuff from old blues bands. And they get accused of stealing from them all the time. But I say, sure, they "borrowed" from parts of old blues songs but whoever heard of the song before they redid it? And it sounded way better and often a lot different.
John Bonham, the drummer, is from my home town in the UK. We are so so proud of him. I think you would love to see them do Moby Dick live from Earls Court where he takes centre stage

There's an actual in-depth analysis of this on UA-cam.
Really enjoying your reactions. Despite being from a totally different genre your insights are very thoughtful and fresh.
You're so right about the drummer. When John Bonham passed, the band folded. He was that important to them
Zep's influence in Rock and heavy metal is immense.
@@w.geoffreyspaulding6588 i watch him. I love that guy. ‘Lets get it’.
I watch so many different reactors lol.
even under the influnce of whiskey and heroin 😳
For great drumming watch 'Achilles Last Stand' from the 1979 Knebworth concert.
try Achilles last stand from the Knebworth gigs to hear bonzo at his best....
Kashmir from the same concert too!
Hell yeah...
@@juliemanarin4127 that is the greatest drumming performance in music history
Oh yeah! That is a great one! I was going to suggest--but you beat me to it
Do you know if any other reactors for that concert
Bonham's influence was the great Buddie Rich, and Gene Krupa, and Roach. Everyone is influenced by someone and it's kind of interesting to hear and identify the influence. So good job!
The best drummer ever! Been listening to Led since I was 11 tomorrow I will be 61… Rock on..
Don't sweat the small stuff you seem to be doing it right. I love you discovering my generations great music.
I still get the "goosies" (chicken skin) when I hear them! I'm 60, and I still crank the volume as high as it goes when I'm driving & Zeppelin comes on the radio. ❤❤❤❤
You need to listen and react to When the Levee Breaks from Led Zeppelin IV. Really enjoy your channel.
This was filmed in Australia at the Sydney Showgrounds, I was there it was absolutely awesome.
Bonzo was a Beast -- no mercy on those 1970 drums! Respect, love and positivity back at cha! "Baby I'm Gonna Leave You" (studio).
The first band to play stadium concerts. One of the most influencial bands, ever.
Les Zep did highlight the drummer. It's called Moby Dick. Check out live version.
When John died , there could be no Led Zepplin . PERIOD
People are very passionate about music and religion, to the point of being defensive about all criticisms and comparisons.
Great reaction. I get it. Peace.
Total love for Zeppelin , John Bonham best drummer ever , thanks babe
Always amazing! Nobody better to sound like than Zeppelin!! ☺
So enjoying your journey in listening to Led Zeppelin with you. Wonderful, thank you 😊
The more you listen, the more you discover. I am eagerly awaiting what is to come.
Just when you think one of Led Zeppelin songs is so good that nothing can't get any better you listen to another and it's just as great.
Drummers are the timekeeper Bonzo was one of Theee Best! 🎼
Hammer of the Gods indeed - only Bonham could wield!
This was filmed in my hometown Sydney, Australia.
It almost pisses me off how good JB is. The dexterity. The hand/eye coordination. The ability to hear what you're hearing and react to it at the speed of sound while never missing a beat. I'm pretty sure he sold his soul to be that good.
This was in 1973 I think. Please do Hearts tribute to them with “Stairway To Heaven” done in 2012! Amazing!!
Welcome to the entrance to the Led Zeppelin rabbit hole and a master class in guitar, drums, bass, and vocals
You like drums? Try their song Dazed and Confused.
People like you are very rare being opened minded on all different kind of music and appreciating it.
Don’t let them get to you. Be YOU and make NO apologies for it.
Bonham is one of most famous drummers of all time; probably one the most famous because there are so many, but one of best three drummers of all time.
Wait! I’m hearing you doing Pink Floyd in the background! Another winner!!!!!!
Dude, if you want an introduction to John Bonham, look for and find the 15 minute live version of Moby Dick. He demonstrates his craft. Not many peers
"The Mighty Led Zeppelin"
You didn’t say anything wrong. Snowflakes will be snowflakes. I enjoy the Led journey your on. Biggest Led head there is, that’s me! It didn’t offend me at all. Thank you peace ✌️
No matter how many times I listen to this song, it always serves to remind me, yet again, of just how great---how truly, truly great---I am.
Zeppelin does showcase. Bonzo. “when the Levee Breaks”, “For Your Life”, “Fool in the Rain”, and the first song from the first album, “Good Times Bad Times”
THe drummer IS the heartbeat of the band, they set the rhythym...
Jimmy Page did production on everything and made sure everything was to his satisfaction.
I call him the wizard!
Well he didnt do “everything” STOP DISRESPECTING ANDY JOHNS WHO DID MOST OF THE STUDIO WORK
O they come,
The Vikings,
Hammer of the Gods.
Please look into The Ocean, Ten Years Gone, Bron- Y- Aur Stomp.
Honestly, can't go wrong with Any of their songs..they have a beautiful catalog of music!
Moby Dick live, greatest drum solo ever.
I completely understood what you said about Axel snagging some of Robert Plants sound. Just like axel borrowed his dance from The Monkeys “Daydream believer”.
If you want to a John Bonham solo, you need to watch Moby Dick live! You'l be blown away!
Brilliant BRILLIANT reaction ❤️ John Bonham.. they don't make em like that anymore.. RIP XXX
Live from Denmark 🇩🇰. “How many more times “ is a must! 1969
Yes 🤩
I was having a really bad day and this made me smile. Lol I almost jumped up and screamed Hell Yes, he didn't apologize lmao Great Great Great reaction
if you want to sidestep a bit from Led Zep, try Deep Purple-Child in Time. Great song with awesome instrumental performances and beautiful vocals!
Led Zeppelin aka" The Hammer of the Gods."
Achilles last stand!!!!! Studio first then live . Guaranteed you’ll lose your freakin mind on drums
You really need to react to Led Zeppelin song when the levee breaks....drumming is soooooo amazing in that song!!!!!
You definitely need to do some Pink Floyd, another legendary English band, that will take you on an epic ride.
Well said. :)
Saw Led Zeppelin when I was 17 years old, they can pack a place for sure, pretty crazy!
Please do a reaction to Bonham's live version of "Moby Dick" (the longer version) if you want to see some insane drumming.
John Bonham, the drummer, is from my home town in the UK. We are so so proud of him. I think you would love to see them do Moby Dick live from Earls Court where he takes centre stage
Maybe do a G'n'R reaction to prove your point.
Best all time band..Blessed to have seen them twice❤
Bonham is very good , great drummer 😎👍 but for me , Neil Peart , RUSH , is the best drummer of all times .. react to Rush - Tom Sawyer ( official video ) or Rush - Limelight ( official video ) 😎👍
Bonham was the best!!
@@juliemanarin4127 for me is Neil Peart . but Bonham is on my top 2 😎👍
This debate will continue until the last time these bands are ever heard. I'm going with Bonham but my son in his mid 40's will go with Peart. lol.
@@emmef7970 😉👍 anyway , 2 great legends 😎👍
