Original Song:
• Led Zeppelin - Immigra... - Розваги
They invented it and a whole lot more. They set the standards that few could match !!!!
No body will ever match Zeppelin.
The Mighty Zep!!!!!!!
That no one can match.
100% correct, nobody will ever match them. There are so many GREAT rock bands out there, but none are even close to Led Zeppelin.
@@SaxonGlory Absolutely!!!
The song is specifically about the viking invasion of the British Isles from 794 Ad, the land of the midnight sun / ice and snow / where the hot springs flow ( volcanic springs) are all references to scandinavia. The singer Robert Plant is very interested in early British history so you get references to it in various songs also Brit. literature in others- these are 4 intelligent men who are master musicians so you get excellent songs on a wide variety of subjects. They also sparkle with humour - they had just done concerts in Iceland and had a very nice time so they wrote this song for fun. The outstanding guitar playing is Jimmy Page who is the founding member and the producer. The drummer is John Bonham widely regarded as the greatest rock drummer and the base / keyboard player is John Paul Jones. They are also strongly influenced by the early american blues men and dounmatched blues rock, but they do folk /acoustic rock, they get very funky and then their are songs which are uniquley them , you will need to discover stairway to heaven hopefully the live version at Madison square garden from 1973 . ON the subject of young people becoming old , they did a reunion concert in London in 2005 called celebtation day when they were in their 60's you should try Kashmir from that, age is no limit when you are this talented. 20 million people wanted tickets for that concert. Jimmy Page is 80 now and is still the coolest man on the planet. You are going to be very pleasantly suprised- by everything they did.
Her: It's about peaceful immigration from different places and the sharing of cultures !
Everyone: Yeah no... it's about the blood-soaked invasions of Vikings taking everything by force.
Viking invasion?
Those people were already dead, the buildings were on fire, they didn't need those sheep anyway....
I was going to reply but no need. You said it best.
Love your comment. Very small correction: Celebration Day was December of 2007 . Plant was 59. Jimmy was 63…would be 13:18 64 in January. A d yeah, DEFINITELY should watch Kashmir from that concert.
... ish. It's a metaphor for touring. Written after doing shows in Iceland, iirc
This was used in at least three movies, that I know of. Shrek, Thor:Ragnarok and School of Rock.
And The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. It is the opening theme.

@@robertdouglastittl6513arranged by Oscar winning (soundtrack) Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.
People mostly remembers from thor ragnarock
They will provide you with an endless supply of music. No two songs will ever be alike, but each a masterpiece in its own way. LZ is arguably the best.
There really isnt another band i can think of that has such a diverse library of music. If you could somehow make Plants voice not recognizable, you most likely wouldn't know it was them (if that makes sense lol)
Nah. But close after the Beatles.
Led Zeppelin is the greatest band of ALL TIME
You must see Since I've been Loving You performed live at MSG!
ABSOLUTELY 💯
I actually prefer the studio version of SIBLY.
@@brianherrington7226 No no the live version is the way to go
It and the whole MSG performance are terrible.....the band themselves admit they were too drunk and sloppy (and low tempo)....way too much over indulgent improvising or 'wanking'.
The studio is the best mix but for live, do the Movie version, the one they picked for the Song Remains the Same concert movie, it was picked for a reason, it is the best live version of a bunch I have heard/seen over the decades.
Welcome to the world of the force of nature that is Led Zeppelin. When music was real.
1973 at MSG live performances of "Since I've Been Loving You" & "Stairway to Heaven" are a must
YES!! A MUST!!
And No Quarter.. Hell the whole concert
There you go! Some of us have been listening to for 40, 50 years!
And still enjoying them!
Every day.
The drumming is masterful on this track. He flips to Jazz and back to keep the whole thing in line....with an improv feel. Genius.
Led Zepplin - "Since I've been Loving you" is a must listen, live performance !!!
You have only experienced the "Tip" of this deep iceberg. Keep them coming, Thanks Rosalie!!
Some of us old folks are STILL rocking out to this music as well as seeing new bands at concerts and festivals. 🙂
Since I’ve been loving you off Led Zeppelin 3 album
“Since I’ve Been Loving You” Live at MSG.
Imagine having a band with four individuals who could carry any band on their own with musicianship and songwriting yet you have them all in one band and they work so well together and know what their roles are within that band. Zeppelin was one of the tightest bands in every respect. One of if not the greatest rock band of all time!
Immigrant Song is pure Led Zeppelin from their 3rd album released in 1970. A top act from the classic rock generation.
Since I’ve been Loving you…live at MSG is epic! You will not be disappointed.🎉🎉🎉
The word 'immigrant' was mostly a passive kind of word until recently. It didn't have a huge political slant back when Zep was around, blowing our minds with each new album.
"'immigrant' was mostly a passive kind of word"
True. But, for the song, the word was a substitute for invaders.
@@fewwiggle We didn't invade, we were asked.
Aleister - who’s ‘we’
Very true, it wasn't such a controversial word back then.
“Immigrant Song” by Led Zeppelin has been called the greatest two minutes in music.
I really do hope she reacts to " Since I've Been Loving you " live at Madison Square Garden.
It's about the Viking invasions.
Let her figure it out for herself.
@@frankdulz6777why? Isn’t part of the fun of comments is that they serve to inform the reactor?
@@frankdulz6777 But she doesn't. I can understand when reactors talk about what the song means to them personally, how it impacts them. But to take a 50+-year-old song where the meaning has been clearly explained by the band and riff on a zillion other things it might mean just tells me that someone didn't do their homework. If nothing, listen first, then look it up before commenting.
@@frankdulz6777 She won't, she's trying to wrongfully attribute her ideology to the song lmao
@@-scrim Bingo!!
Wait until you hear the soulful drumming in “when the levy breaks”. Revolutionary!
That was the opener for their epic three hour concerts back in the day. Show me one other band that could even come close to their energy, talent, creativity and endurance...there are none. Zeppelin is the GOAT.
Springsteen and RUSH immediately spring to mind...
Springsteen ? Reel it back in brother
@@jimmaerage1921 No.
Wrong. I have seen Queen 8 times. They are on par.
Jimmy is the undisputed champion of chord progressions. Practically every single song on the the first 7 albums were hit songs!
Bonham used to play jazz which explains how comfortable he is with shifts in what he's playing. A lot of drummers that emerged in the late 60s in the UK had jazz training because when they were kids this sort of thing didn't really exist so they learnt jazz and blues.
Zeppelin is the band everyone try’s to emulate since 68 Rock gods
You are absolutely right till this day. And no one can match them.
David Coverdale and Whitesnake were the 80’s version that I think came relatively close. They surely tried anyway.
John Bonham's drumming is even better on the opening track of their debut album. "Good times bad times" has a base drum thundering out in 4/4 time with triplets pressed in for emphasis. Unlike now, he is doing this with one foot using only one pedal. Fools in the rain is polyrhythmic - He plays the high hat in 4/4 time with swing triplets, intermitting ghost notes with the snare in a 12/8 time. At the SAME time, he plays a half time swing shuffle on the base and snare. Four appendages and two different time signatures at the same time. He keeps this all together despite the bass guitar and 6 string guitar playing a 12/8 signature. Giving this song a syncopated triplet feel. kind of a Latin swing, Perdie shuffle feel.
Preach! Bonham goat!
no gizmos, no gadgets, nor fancy electronics....LeD Zeppelin was truly the Hammer Of the Rock Gods
Well they did have a Mellotron, which is the gizmo of gizmos.
@@Roikat as compared to what is out there today they had a washboard and a jug
@@mja4wp the Mellotron required its own technician to go on the road with JPJ, just saying … their show was state of the art for the time. But yeah, a washboard and a jug and a barbed wire diddy bow by today’s standards.
@@Roikat I hear you - your correct....and appreciate JPJ doing double duty (bass w/ feet and keyboards often and using a Mellotron at times) - but on Immigrant Song - it's just base, vocal, guitar and JB on drums.
I would listen to it again, with John Paul Jones as the bassist. The powerful cohesion between the entire collective is unparalleled. :)
I'm not into rock music, but Led Zeppelin is just brilliant
WoW Luv This!!! YAY
Jimmy Page the lead guitarist
Robert Plant the vocalist
John Paul Johns bass guitar
And John Bonham on Drum,
Check out their best songs Stairway to heaven, Kashmir, Since I've been loving you, no quarter and more.

Very Early 70s stuff before they dominated. 🇦🇺
Robert Plants signature voice that cannot be reproduced.
Need to do "Kashmir" Live from Celebration Day Concert. Epic performance. There last Concert together.
Nah, Knebworth '79 before that. Jason is great but he's not his dad.
@bikerbud3903 Yes .. Kashmir - Live at the O2 Arena is amazing

Its better in '79 at Knebworth when it was actually Led Zeppelin.
The Vikings did much carnage in the early historical British Isles era and left a lot of Red Head off spring behind especially in Scotland ..Check out something from the 1st album Babe I'm Gonna Leave you and Dazed and Confused

greatest rock band ever.
the good old days i miss them
This really about the Vikings
They had just done a concert in Iceland when they came up with this one. One of their best.
Kashmir, live by LZ in Knebworth in 79, is amazing, as is anything they did at MSG!
Yes
I was at that concert. It was great, but as Robert Plant later said, they were under rehearsed and compared to some of their other concerts I would agree
Wander ALL around their catalog. Their talent is endless. Since I've Been Loving You, In My Time of Dying, The Rain Song, Fool in the Rain. My fingers would be too tired to list them all.
Greatest band of all time.
There are so many to look into; Kashmir, When the Levee Breaks, Good times bad times, black dog, Achilles last stand, heartbreaker, babe Im gonna leave you...
Welcome to the rabbit hole, Rosalie. Greatest songs and greatest musicianship - unmatched since. Next song? You could throw a dart, but 'Since I've been loving you' will freak you out (studio version first).
You can tell by the look on your face your mind is BLOWN !!!! You are hooked
And the guitar player is Jimmy Page. One of the greatest..
The mountain of memories with Zep. Since i was born,1969.
Greatest guitar player in history!
I am
Would love to have seen Ian Gillan wrap his vocals around this song. If you really want to be blown away by Zepp listen to
the live performance of Dazed and Confused. Absolute masterpiece.
Which live performance? The whole essence of Led Zeppelin is that it's different every time.
Saw Led Zeppelin in concert at the LA Forum in 1973, they played for 4 hours, 8 pm to midnight, fantastic.
Thank you for your intelligent commentary! Sometimes folks just can't see the forest through the trees and realize how we all fit into history! ✌
Thank you :) I agree. Well said
Also, LedZep was honoured at the Kennedy Centre Awards, and Heart covered Stairway to Heaven, featuring Jason Bonham on drums. One of the greatest performances of that song ever. Robert Plant was in tears.
I was 6 when zep came out and been hooked every since, and from your expression you are HOOKED also!
GOAT!
This edited version was a nice twist of a song I’ve heard a million times. Great take thx!
This is a Zeppelin original!!! I was a teen in the 70s...greatest time of my life! It was about the Viking invasion of Britain
Yep, us oldies knew how to rock out. We were truly blessed with the music that was around in the early 70s. Led Zeppelin being a great example. Nothing has matched it since.
I had a neighbor and he still lives there his name was thor he was from Iceland. He tried to wear out this album and this song was his favorite the song is definitely about Icelandi.
This was the song that hooked me into a Zeppelin fan . I remember I had the 45 RPM . On the flip side was Gallows pole.
After seeing your reaction I couldn’t watch another one for hours, you ,you, you good!
Thank you for reacting to Led Zeppelin and making their classic songs feel new again.
John Bonham. often named the greatest rock drummer of all time, came to be known as “The Hammer,” as in “the hammer of the gods.” He used custom made sticks that were larger and heavier and struck his oversized drums very hard.
That iconic riff, the chilling wail of the opening vocal, and the lyrics take me back to when I was 12 or 13 years old and hospitalized with frozen feet. It was actually the onset of Raynaud’s Disease that came after a winter camping experience and a long day of outdoor ice skating. This song tells a story and it helped my younger self get through a difficult time.
History is the key. Once we forget History we are bound to repeat it.
By the way love the zeppelin reactions. You've only scratch the surface
This footage was from the Sydney , Australia concert, I went to the Melbourne one. This was early 1973. The song though was mixed from the live Mixing board at another Concert and finally mixed in the USA...They blew Australia away, and I was there , WOWOWO
That was the first song I heard by Zep when I was 12, in 1971. Still one of my favourites, and this is surely my favourite version.
And: It is so reassuring to listen to someone from the younger generation listening to "my" music, and actually understanding nowing a thing or two about how music (and some other things) work.
Led Zeppelin are masters of musical diversity. And while they helped pave the way for heavy rock/metal, most bands following them couldn't achieve the beautiful synthesis of electric/acoustic, the heavy lead and the lighter than air zeppelin that these guys were capable of.
In My Time of Dying, Black Dog, Kashmir, When the Levy Breaks, Rock'N'Roll, Since I've Been Loving You ... the list goes on, all different all awesome ...
I'm British but my background is a lot more complicated, I think a lot of us can say something similar. It's so hard to emigrate these days everyone is closing the door it feels like, that's why I love to travel, I'm an adventurer and don't feel tied to any one place. Wherever I am if I'm happy...that's home.
There are so many amazing, funky Led Zeppelin songs you'll love. (Slightly) less obvious ones for me are Houses of The Holy, The Ocean, and Fool In The Rain. I hope you check them out and take care!
On the album, this is one of their shortest songs, but I think one of their greatest :)
This song has been used in several movies, including Shrek The Third. Its iconic opening fits perfectly in many situations. Also for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, School Of Rock and Thor: Ragnarok.
This was written in Iceland after the 1st concert in a tour....The band was so impressed by the hospitality they recieved, it inspired them to write a song about the ancestors of that island nation whom had also played a large role in the history of their own land.
“Immigrant Song” was used in “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” (2011) by Trent Reznor, in Shrek III, and in Jack Black’s “School of Rock” (2003)
Loved your reaction Rosalie! Yes that time period there were alot of bands that were so different, constantly trying new new things. SO many bands that were in kind of their own lane. Had their own sounds. Zepplin,Jethro Tull, Boston ,Kansas,Yes,Rush many many more. I was there it was an amazing time period for music. Check out Zepplin's "Kashmir" Live from Celebration Day Concert.
I remember seeing them live May 10, 1969 at UC Irvine, it was amazing.
I was 10 years old and this was recorded 1972 I was in fourth grade.
The small website says by glucose numbers Been into them since I was eight years old 1970
Thank you for this. Enjoyed your reaction. Made me realise how lucky I am to have lived through the time when they were current.
The trouble is that we took it all for granted. They stood out as a great band, but there were many, many great bands bursting onto the music scene at that time and we all assumed it would go on forever.
As someone of Viking/Norse ancestry, this song has special meaning and never fails to give me goose bumps and send my blood coursing.
Absolutely wonderful reaction. I see myself at 14 years old searching for Immigrant Song. It wasn’t so easy back then if you didn’t know the album. We would call the local radio station over and over until they would play it.
Welcome to Zeppelin. Apart from their masterwork, Stairway to Heaven, to get the full range of their brilliance, you have to do Kashmir, Going to California, Rock & Roll, and Ramble On.
Back when we heard great music on the radio all day everyday it was no big deal. I think I took it for granted how amazing it actually was because there was SO MUCH of it out there. Now, it amazes me that there are people today blown away by it because they've never heard it before! That shows how far the talent has dropped since then.
That opening yell resembles the theme song for "Get Smart," which was a comedy on TV five years before this song was released.
Since Ive Been Loving You... Nobody's Fault But Mine.. In my Time of Dying.. How Many More Times.. Just gave you your 4 fave songs.. Great reaction
If your jumping into Zeppelin...Madison Square Garden 1973 - LIVE is widely considered vintage Zeppelin....."Since Ive Been Loving You; No Quarter; Rainsong; Moby Dick; Song Remains The Same..." seriously...the entire show is a master class in Rock n Roll virtuoso.
It was a time of young people trying to create great music, and they did.
Gotta see Since I’ve been Loving You AND Kashmir from Celebration Day when they were in their 60’s+. Beautiful
Your initial reaction reminds me very much of how we first reacted when this album was released. "Wow!"
Yes Led Zeppelin invented this and so much more.😊❤
People have always been on the move. Empires expand and collapse.....well done ....A+++
I love seeing young people realize some of the best songs were written when I was growing up. I was nine when this came out. And I am so lucky I head some very cool friends and relatives who turned me onto bands like Zep. Absolutely loved covering this one live when I was still singing.
This is only two years removed from "Let it Be" by The Beatles. Black Sabbath were a couple of LPs into their career as well. So much great hard rocks was starting to gain notoriety. YES was on their third year as a band. Pink Floyd had their first hit in 67.
The amazing style differences that were born from the late 60's. Never gonna see that again I fear.
GOATs.
Don't miss live MSG 1973 The Song Remains the Same (intro) to The Rain Song. One of the greatest live rock performances in history. Also, When the Levee Breaks and Nobody's Fault but Mine for all time rock/blues classics. You have just begun to rock.
We who are codgers that grew up on this stuff welcome you to the party. I personally am more of an adult contemporary, singer songwriter type guy but this does wonderful things for the circualtion. On another quick note, I was living in Vegas when the M resort opened and thay had a blimp with a huge tv on it...and yes, I called it the LED Zeppelin.
Your jaw will hit the floor when you hear Since I’ve been Loving you…live at MSG
Well you have a top ten bassist, one of the best lead guitarist, Arguably the best drummer ever, and one of the best front man entertainers. And then the song writing and lyrics.
The Rain Song is a Master piece ❤
Great reaction and comments, Rosalie! Happy to see you listen to another Zeppelin song. Hope you continue on this journey; they have lots of amazing music.
Led Zeppelin, one of many good bands from late 60s-70s.
Can't wait to see you react to "When the Levee Breaks". A 1920s blues song that Led Zep, shall we say, _updated._
It is their song and has been used in the movies "Shrek" and "School of Rock." Funny story about this performance: they were in a multi-band lineup at this particular outdoor festival and their manager, Peter Grant, wanted them to go out on stage just as the sun was setting. He thought that would be the best effect to show off the lads. The band before them was taking too long, so Grant unplugged all their instruments. Needless to say, they blew the other four bands out of the water. They were and always will be the best band ever.
The music from the 60s and 70s was so much better than anything in the past 30 years and Zeppelin was on top.
I started listening to Zeppelin in 1970, always been my favorite group
You're listening to the quintessential band of all time.Enjoy your journey which you will find I promise, spellbinding!!!☘
So much great music & change for the teens of the late 60s/70s...Intelligent Pop, Rock, Hard Rock, Folk Rock, Heavy Metal, Prog, Disco, Funk, Glam Rock, Jazz Fusion, Punk, Post Punk...
This concert took place at the Sydney Fairgrounds in Australia and set an attendance record that still stands today if I remember correctly.
You’ve now entered a rabbit hole that is extremely diverse and deep, indeed!
