Where have you been, you ask? Hey, there's too much music for one man to consume it all. Like you said, better late than never.
Your channel is great for me. You remind me of the reactor RRT (Rap Rat Trapped). I enjoy seeing you like--or dislike--the music I cut my teeth on. And your comments and train oof thought of real and spontaneous. If we were actually sitting in the garage with some CDs and cold beers, and just bulls*****ng about music, I could see you reacting the same way. I love that honesty.
This one was great because of your genuine smile--you LIKED this. You didn't just put on a happy face for your viewers. Man you were IN it!!
Now, if you like live acts, I recommend "Hallowed Be The Name," by the heavy metal band Iron Maiden. The sound engineering, musical precision, song writing, and performance will blow you out of the water.
Keep em coming, sir. Your channel is a new favorite!
Agree
Soul of a woman was created below
NICE thanks i can hear it now that it was pointed out
No problem that's why we here for ya
@@ROMsquad If you really wanna go deeper into Led Zeppelin you need to also do "Immigrant Song" a MUST! That and also "Kashmir" which happens to be my favorite and LISTEN carefully to the words in Kashmir. All their stuff is very deep and a bit too 'all knowing' if you know what I mean.
John Paul jones, bass keyboards, hell,he can play every instrument you can think of.
Try the live 1969 version. Mind blowing
The drummer and singer were 20 years old when they recorded this. Let that sink in for a minute

It’s CRAZY!
And half of those were bought by me and my school friends
Imagine being this good on a debut album.
No band has ever captured the magic that is Led Zeppelin. There are many great bands, none like Zeppelin.
With a heavy, guitar-driven sound, Zeppelin are cited as one of the progenitors of hard rock and heavy metal, although their style drew from a variety of influences, including blues and folk music. ❤
I'm 62 years old and I guess we're spoiled ! All this music sounds normal to us, just great music!
I'll be 62 in January 2024 and I've been listening to Led Zeppelin since I was eight years old.
John Paul Jones is Zeppelin’s secret sauce. He plays a mean bass and keys too.
it took me many years of zep to realize its JPJ that drives the mighty zeppelin
Sometimes played both at same time, piano with the hands, bass played with pedals with his feet.
Awesome sauce for sure. Love his work with them crooked vultures. Showing the young cats how to write.
John Bonham on drums was the collagen that brought it all in place. John Paul Jones plays a mean mandolin.
Absolutely
if you listen to every Led Zep album, you will find blues, rock, folk and funk. and all in between. The greatest band ever
Now you know why people are so passionate about this band✌🏼👏🏼.
I accidentally came across the stairway reaction now I am hooked on your reactions because of the knowledge you have and how much I enjoy seeing you absorb led zep
Dude, the reason we like your reactions, is because you appreciate the musicianship of these ROCK LEGENDS. You know the drummer is for real, john Bonham..... You realize the Singer is supremely talented, Robert Plant.... You know the greatest guitarist ever, Jimmy Page..... And you know that John Paul Jones can do so many things, bass, keyboard and is underrated because he shed the limelight......
thanks i really try to respond to every one i really appreciate you
The quiet on John Paul Jones there was only 4 of them Jones was multiple instruments player
@@ROMsquad have you done steve ray vaughan yet?
Jimmy Paige on guitar, John Paul Jones on bass, Robert Plant on vocals and John Bohnam on drums.
Never again will you hear four musicians as together as these four were.
Classic rock my man, this is Classic rock.
Also it is the same guy. John paul jones. He plays bass guitar, keyboard, and many other different instruments. Very talented musician.
yes he is and i appreciate you putting down his name i appreciate you thanks for the post fam
@@ROMsquad JPJ plays almost every instrument known to man. If you put it in his hands he will figure it out.
@@ROMsquad John Paul Jones is a total legend, and he doesn't initially get folks attention because he supports the songs and the other band members without any of their theatrics. He just does everything with taste and proficiency, and brings a variety of instruments and experience to the their song arrangements, but he is also a power house foundation on the bass, locked in with John Bonham on drums. He doesn't crave attention, is unassuming and the least to be interviewed, and a true class act.
In some live performances John Paul Jones is playing keyboard with his hands and bass with his feet simultaneously 🤯
@@MrDiddyDee it's a shame about the interviewing, because he has a wonderful, dry, sense of humour and his comedy timing is immaculate (as you'd expect!)
I grew up with Zeppelin and have listened to every song a thousand times at least....but I envy you at this moment because listening for the first time is the closest thing to magic I can imagine in this world. Breath it in deep Man🎸
I once read about Roger Daltrey talking about listening to a song the first time. We get one opportunity to hear a tune for the first time whereas Daltrey felt musicians don't because of the time in the studio putting the song together.
Truth!
Well said!
Zeppelin is the greatest rock band ever. Their style and talent cannot be copied. 😎✌🏽
John Paul Jones was the master in Led Zep. He doesnt get enough praise for what he accomplished in music
Jimmy Page was the master. Without Jimmy. Their would be no John P. Jones. Together, they were awesome. They made Zeppelin...
They were all the absolute masters of their craft.
@@elainegoliszeski276, 100% agree 👍
Jonesy was great but he was definitely not “the master”.
Every musician on the planet and all LZ fans knew Jones was terrific. All those who never realized that were living under a rock, so he was never really underrated either.
Jones being the ‘unsung hero’ is just a myth made up by people who tend to diss the other 3 band members.
It was mostly Page who came up with the ideas for songs (Jones had a few as well)…but Page would create a song from scratch, put it together on acoustic guitar, then present it to the band where they would all add to it from there.
There were 4 masters in that band.
Their bass guitarist is John Paul Jones, jpj 4 short,he also the keyboard player, mandolin, which had 3 fret boards too.very talented 2.writer of some of theirs.was 2 known to play the bass with his feet whilst playing the keyboards with his hands. Great bass guitarist
The lyric is "Soul of a woman was created below."
The singer was 20 years old at this time. He was filled with blues. They were influenced mainly from US southern blues.
The guitarist you were referring to talking to the drummer was the bassist, John Paul Jones, bassist and keyboardist. He and John Bonham, the drummer, are connected musically. There is only one guitarist in the group, Jimmy Page.
I am loving your reactions!
i think that's why it sounds like a descent into hell or taking the stairway to hell instead of heaven
My dad would wake up at 5am and rock out Zeppelin EVERY morning. I hated it as a kid but I miss it terribly now.
Ditto! Completely my story too! ❤️
Dazed and Confused is a piece for Page's solo. On their US tours in 1975 and 1977, Jimmy was killing with his solos for D&C. There are remastered bootlegs of each performance on UA-cam. Check them out. Needless to say, no two performances were alike - these guys were born for stage. On one of those concerts, Page was playing his D&C solo for 40 minutes!
This is thier first album. It starts from here. Just phenomenal!
We were lucky in the sense our generations listened to all kinds of music. Rock, R&B, Motown, Disco, Country Metal, Rap.
We did not listen to disco! 😂
"Todays attentions span is dumbed down 1m 50s to 2 minutes". Well, I'd say that's a reflection of the quality of the music...
Welcome to the world of rock music!
thanks thats exactly what i was trying to a allude to but did a horrible job doing. im sorry i freestyle my channel no script. im trying to share that feeling i used to get when a tape or a cd would come out and the hole crew would meet up at one of our houses and no one would open it till everyone got there .we would press play and pass around the paper insert and pause the track every time one of us caught a bar. we would break it down no scripts just honest first impression on what we heard. thanks for your post fam and thanks for the warm introduction into Rock you guys are great
When I listen to pop music now whether it be country pop, rap pop, rock pop, etc the production values are at an all time high but it feels as if the soul of music is gone. I think you can judge an era of music by it's pop songs. In the 70's and 90's even the pop songs were classic, complex, and bands that were popular were legendarily talented. I know a lot of this complaining about today's music sounds like "old man shouting at clouds" but there are legitimate technical issues that make today's music bad; lack of musical dynamics being one of them.
@@ROMsquad You did say that, I just rephrased it.
I've been wondering about where your abilities to brake it down for us ignorants come from. Your history explains it. You've done the South Bronx college course in analyzing texts. That develops your thinking.
I dont buy that, people will watch a 4 hour Marvel movie
@@ThatGuy-cb3yv that's not really a great analogy, imo.
You found them now. Their albums are timeless.
They are Blues, Jazz and Rock
The most talented band ever.! You're so much fun!
I saw these guys in 1973 at M.S.G. in New York! I'll never forget it!
Lucky bastard!!! Haha! 😃

Led is a great band 1 of my favorites of all time. 👍
Imagine listening yo these records as a teenager and getting your mind blown. We worshipped these bands. I wish kids today could hear more of this type of music.
Your smitten of led zeppelin....your facial expressions and your actions are straight up awesome to watch...welcome to the club
It's the wonder on his face!
I've been listening to them for decades and still get excited when I hear them! Lol
yup
No, it was NOT egging somebody on! You got it backwards! That was John Paul Jones, the bassist And keyboardist. He and Bonzo were the rhythm unit, one of the best in rock history. Bonzo was almost unique in that he fallowed Page, the guitarist wherever Jimmy went, he could follow. What you saw there, and it’s really cool, is JIMMY mixing it up. JPJ, the bassist is giving Bonzo “the look”.... the what in the hell is he doing.look. Bonzo looks back, shakes his head...basically saying, don’t ask me....and then proceeds to follow Jimmy perfectly, and JPJ sticks with him as he always did. They’re a perfect rhythm unit. You got it right that they could follow each other.....it was just that there, JIMMY was leading...and that look you saw is famous to Zeppelin fans....as “the look”.
There is no second guitar player. What you are hearing is what they do (did?) in studio recordings.....Jimmy overdubs his part on many songs. On one song, Achilles’ Last Stand, he overdubs about seven guitar parts.
Welcome to the magic of the British band Led Zepelin.
Zeppelin isn't just a band it's an experience. The goat!!
In my opinion, they are the best Rock & Roll & Blues band ever. I’ve been listening to them pretty much my whole life.
Traditionally Zeppelin is considered to be their own category of music.
5 generations in my family love zeppelin
Don't know if anyone told you, this is the birth of heavy metal!
Zeppelin is the most talented band ever. Period! Rock, Blues, Folk, R&B, they could do it all. I recently subscribed to you and enjoy your breakdowns and thoughts. The pausing of the songs doesn't bother true Zeppelin fans. Keep up the good work bro!
1st time I ever listened to this album was in 1970.... I didn't take it off the train table until 1971. Basically I made a cassette tape of it and played with my car. Is Led Zeppelin... Without Is a doubt the greatest rock band that ever existed. Rock on . .... I know what you did to me 1st time I heard it......blew my mind. Wait until you lission to, Whole lot of love. Mississippi blue song from muddy waters.... Off the fucking hook.... jZ.....
It's "soul of a woman was created below". This is a heartbreak song.
Zeppelin is blues...rock..soul..jass everything. No one can hardly play there music cause of the mix they do
Leds studio versions are so fun to listen to on headphones because you hear all the different sounds on the right & left sides hit back & forth. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yes ABSOLUTELY to be listened to with headphones but the vinyl is definitely the way to go, no question . All my L.Z. is in original vinyl, CDs are for the car. Even my iPods have all my mighty Zep for running/working out to. LOL. MEGA FAN.
Robert plant: lead vocals, tambourine, harmonica
jimmy page: lead guitar, acoustic, 12 string, violin bow on guitar
John Paul jones: keyboard, bass, mandolin
John Bonham: drums, LOUD DRUMS
that's a basic list
Just remember that back then they had only 8 tracks to record with . They recorded drums in the stairwells and hallways to get different sounds. The guitarist and genius Jimmy Page was the producer of all their albums.
THE SOUL OF A WOMAN WAS CREATED BELLOOOOW!
I heard "Soul of a woman was created below." As in, created in hell.
NICE thanks i can hear it now that it was pointed out
NO... not that far below. **wink wink say no more.**
thats what I herd as well
It’s the blues, of course it’s about a woman done him bad.
He means it in a good way... 🔥👹
Jimmy Page started out professionally as a studio musician in London. He was the master at multi-tracking and dubbing. He actually originally went to college on a fine arts scholarship at the prestigious Sutton Art College in Surrey. During this period of time, he is credited for playing on the Kinks debut record. He also played on the WHO's first album. Wiki has a very interesting write up on Jimmy Page en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Page
After this reaction, you are now a rocker. When the music just sets you off spontaneously, you know your there.
Rdiss, Zeppelin is the best of the best. Head and shoulders above the rest and there was so much talent in those days. Truly the golden age of Rock n Roll.
It's cool to see you feel Zeppelin for the 1st time. Brings me way back, dude.
We’ve been asking the same questions for 50 years. How the hell do they do that. They do it because they are the best ever assembled. Jimmy Page, guitarist, was the brains of the group, producing all of their music and writing the majority of the music. Robert Plant took over the lyrics after a while, Jimmy thought he was too cynical. John Paul Jones, bass, keyboards, mandolin was the glue. John Bonham, “Bonzo”, RIP, was the best rock drummer ever. I love your reactions. No BS, and you are really listening.
Led Zeppelin is a blues based rock band for sure !
Made a long zeppelin post and accidentally deleted it. Saw zeppelin four times. First time the opened for The Who in Columbia, Maryland. 1969. The rest of the times I saw them in Florida where I saw many great concerts. Zeppelin will always be my favorite band. I wa 19wheni first saw them. I am in my 70s now. I will never tire and move on to a new favorite.
If you want to listen to something really chill by Zeppelin, try "No Quarter" :)
Rock & Roll's roots are blues.
I am SO jealous that you have SO MUCH insanely great music to dive into for the first time!!! Enjoy the journey, The Mighty Zeppelin will NOT let you down!!
Off their 1969 debut album "Led Zeppelin" or known as "Led Zeppelin I". Very iconic and ground breaking.
This music cannot be classified it's on another level
its deff some other level type stuff

i think that ones next not sure but its on the list thanks for the post and your time
@@ROMsquad another concert you need to check out by them is Royal Albert Hall in 1970. Arguably better/as good as MSG.
Jimmy Page is the genius behind the mix. He produced all their records.
✌️💗😊
I'm 62 I grew up on rock and roll, my son grew up on metal. I was able to see them in High school just because we were at the Mall when the tickets went on sell $6.50 a seat. Enjoy
This is one band that you could just go through each album, every song in order, and there isn't a bad one in the whole bunch. It's a great way to experience Zeppelin, following their musical evolution. Highly recommended.
To see the drummer do his thing while the rest of the band leaves the stage, try Moby Dick live. You really need to LOVE the drums though, cuz it's all about the drums and John Bonham's mastery of them.
Oh, and Heartbreaker is a different song by Zeppelin.
The guitar solo is great, he gets that eerie effect with a violin bow
Love these reactions. Our generation kinda missed out on these metal bands till now. 😂
I was having a rough night and your stairway to heaven reaction video popped up and I loved it! I've been binge watching all of your Led Zeppelin reaction videos since and seeing your excitement and happiness has made my night so much better. My face hurts from smiling. I love Zeppelin and its a shame you weren't able to show the video with JP using the bow on his guitar. I was going to recommend it to you. Keep up the amazing work and thank you for making my night better!
Yeah, I'm watching this one again. Dude, I love your energy please don't change anything. Just keep doing these reactions just like you do! Watching you decipher the music and your excitement is contagious.
Led zeppelin is a legend of its kind...one of a kind!
This was the first song on my play list for bicycling to work, nothing gets you moving faster in the morning than some Zeppelin riffs.
The other guitarist was the guy on the keyboard. John Paul Jones is the bass player. He also plays keyboard when necessary. That's the guy. Jimmy Page is the lead guitar. Robert Plant is the lead singer. And John Bonham is the drummer. Bonham tragically died in 1980 and that was the end of Led Zeppelin. The other three are still with us.
Bonham died and LZ ended in 1980

that is genius i like how every genre grows out of another
John Paul Jones is the "other" guitarist. He played keys and a few other instruments also. Yeah, they were all so synchronized they never missed. This is why they are so highly regarded in the rock world.
John Paul Jones was the bass player and keyboard
They did miss in the madison sqare garden video, watch when Jones mouths "whoops" to bonham as page restarts his entry, awesome recovery. Jones and bonham laughed it away!
JPJ wrote and played the mandolin parts on "Battle of Evermore".
@@russellchrom he was probably playing the Bass in the incident spoken about. He not only played Keys and Bass, he also played accoustic guitar, banjo and uke when the band did an acoustic section in the middle of their concert. In fact JPJ had a ring of string instruments around him as he , Plant and Page sat on chairs at the front of the stage doing stuff from the 3rd and 4th albums. I saw them not long after the 4th album was released. On all thir albums if it was not guitar or drums. JPJ played it.
@@neilandfi, No. Page played the mandolin and wrote the music for Battle of Evermore. Robert Plant wrote the lyrics.
Jones played mandolin on Going to California only and during the live performances of the song.

If you havent seen Heart's Tribute to Led Zepplin playing Stairway to Heaven with Jon Bonham's son on drums you must watch. It will bring a tear to your eye.
Facts!!
it sucked a dick.
I could watch and listen to your Zeppelin reactions all day. I've been listening to them for nearly 50 years but you have given me some very interesting insights about their music.
Jimmy Page was a Production Genius! Plant was his own dub’d voice and master on the harmonica. Page was his own dub’s guitarist. John Paul was a string and Key genus as well. It was all Zep in the studio!
Bonham was on top of the game with his ability to hold timing. The timing base for the rest of the group. Bonham was also hugely influenced by jazz, more specifically Buddy Rich. Hence the jazz and blues influences in his playing. Every single one of them understood timing like no body's business, the longer members play together, the tighter the group becomes and are able to play off one another. Musicianship.
Bonham liked Joe Morello, Earl Palmer, Gene Krupa, Elvin Jones as well. A few othes not mentioned. Bonham was incredible.
Zeppelin played off each better, so much better than others, these live lengthy tunes can be different any night is what helped make a great band better than the rest.
Oh definitely. Always been a huge influence for me.

I'm loving your reactions & enthusiasm ; I subscribed at first listen. i know I'm not the only one....keep'em coming!
Metal in my opinion was created from rock and roll and is a sub genre of rock. Zeppelin, Black Sabbath among others are the bands that influenced Metal. You can really hear how Robert Plants vocals influenced metal singers. The distortion of the guitar is a key element in metal and guitarists first used it in rock and roll.
So I wasn’t really wrong for linking the two then?
@@ROMsquad No they are definitely linked. First came rock and roll which was influenced by many genres of music which you can hear in Zeppelin, Floyd, Sabbath, The Beatles, Elvis, Hendrix and other bands. Then came Metal which was influenced by the harder sounding rock songs those bands and artists created. Metal took it to a new level with Metallica, Mega Death, Slayer, Pantera. Black Sabbath is considered the first Metal band and you can hear the roots of blues and other genres that influenced them... but there are countless Zeppelin songs that influenced metal as well.
I really appreciate your insight and knowledge fam thanks I really appreciate you
We are Zeppelin people. So we know. The Best Ever...
It's only 1 Guitarist

@@ROMsquad just some perspective here bro, when this song was recorded in 1968, Robert Plant and John Bonham were only 20 years old! Jones and Page were a little older at 22 and 24 respectively.
Just take your time with Led Zep. Stay with the first album, try Good Times, the first track next and then maybe How Many More Times.

Heart preformed "Stairway to Heaven " at the Kennedy center honors benefit, Rock Ledgends preforming a masterpiece for Rock Gods, with the drummers son playing drums! Truly moving!
I first heard this song at least 40 years ago and couldn't believe what I was hearing... the band's only guitarist and founder Jimmy Page absolutely *HATED* Zeppelin being categorized as "metal." About 10 years ago VH1's "that Metal Show" begged Page to be a guest on the show and he absolutely refused... Page was also the bands executive producer and did a lot of the guitar overdubbing in the studio on many songs... he had the final say on everything..
