Thank you, young man. I was unsure about the red cable attached on the rearview camera and what purpose it serves, but you clarified that for me perfectly. Cheers !
Was Happy to see what the red wire was for. and the first video that came up from a google search was this. 99.99% of products i have googled in the past it takes a hour to find out info on this was simple 2 mins thanks to you. great work dude thank you !
Excellent video, I am usually pretty tech savvy but a bit limited when it comes to cars, I was a bit unsure about the cables on the rear camera but this video was top notch, thank you!
@@coreybryan2483 I had the Geek Squad at Best Buy install it for me just last month. I have a 2024 Toyota Camry SE AWD. I told them not to connect the rear camera connector to my back up light since my car already has a backup camera by default. It’ll ruin the system after interfering. It’s working really well so far…
No it was not! The screen stays on and displays a “digital rear view”, which takes a bit of getting used to but I’m coming to like it quite a bit. You could also set it for the screen to turn off completely, but the mirror isn’t as good as the factory one then
Hey bro. Great video. I hardwired it. Quick question. When I put the car into P and take the keys out. My screen remains on. Is there anyway for the screen to turn off automatically after I take the keys out? I don't want to use the screensaver bc I was hoping the screen would auto turn off after I turn the car off.
Hello Thank you for this great video, do you know if there is a way to bypass the cigarette lighter? I only have 1 in my car and I use it to charge my phone.
4:05 if you wanted to have your camera pointed straightforward in the position that it’s mounted right now is that possible? Like does the mounting bracket have free range of motion up and down so I can place it how i like? While mounted in the same position you have it? Not sure if this is a dumb question but thanks lol
What do you mean when you say find a fuse that is switched and one that is constant? Like can you give me an example of which fuse location you used? Also do you have to run wire from underneath the hood back into the car after you install it into the fuse?
Great video… thanks! Do you think that you could use the 12 volt line going to your stock mirror? This would be a help in both wiring and acc only power since my cigarette lighter has power all the time. I am not interested in the time lapse feature. Thanks again.
If you’re installing this in a work van, make sure you call Wolf box immediately as they will have to send you an extra long cord. The one they provide is not long enough.
I'm curious if you know why I get vertical white noise lines on the monitor from the rear camera. It is connected to my cars power point so I don't think it has anything to do with engine noise
Boy I tried to install a backup cam in my mk5 gti and man that didn’t go as planned lol thought I saw a mk6 gti off to the left in your video.. VW’s and Miata go hand and hand!
Hopefully this video can help you get it right! They sure do, I had a MK5 GTI as well a few years back. I loved it but unfortunately blew the engine in it
Good morning from Spain, I'am interested in buying the model G840S mirror with the parking monitor kit. My doubt is the rear camera is also active recording in parking mode??? Is it continuous recording?? Does it give good quality recording in parking mode?? Thanks
You mentioned if you just want a front facing dash cam you’re set. That’s not the case because (as far as I know) the device doesn’t function as a real mirror. If you don’t plug in the rear view camera you no longer have a view out the back unless you turn around or look at side mirrors. That’s been my main qualm with the device but the rear view camera is better sight than the stock mirror
These are awesome in theory but I've had FOUR of them die because they bake in the sun during the day and then die. If anyone grabs one of these and is in CA please let me know how it works out. Mine were vantop but I think they are all the same just re branded. Lmk.

Great video! You may want to do something about that wasp nest at 6.20 😊
Extremely easy to follow even for a non tech-driven old guy. Thanks for posting this video.

Happy to help!
Literally why I looked this video up lol. Thank you too
6:20 Bro got a Wasp Nets in his taillight lol but great video very detailed
Makes me think how many cars on the road have hidden wasp nests in them
Your video was very detailed and only because of you I was able to install by myself. Thank you!
You're welcome, happy to help!
I was waiting for you to apply the cover over the wasp nest of wires above the mirror, this is a game changer 😮

thank god we have people like you
Is the redwire to be connected to the reverse light just power wire? I can use any wire to lengthen it?
Not a word about the wasp nest though. 😂
Thank you, I was wondering if the backup lines were worth the trouble
can this mirror act like a normal rear view mirror and or when you put it in reverse then the rear kicks on?
Thank youYour video was very detailed and only because of you I was able to install by myself. Thank you!
I already have a factory backup camera . What would you do with that ...leave it alone and hook up this Wolfbox dash cam seperately ?
Yeah you can just add it and use it as a rear cam that is recording as well all the time, thats what i did
@@thetoolmat8632 ....thanks ! I was wondering if you HAD to tie into it and really did not want to.
I’m wondering the same thing too. I have a 2024 Toyota Camry SE AWD. I don’t want the original camera that’s on the camry being interfered
@doublej4077 So you just didnt add the reverse camera right? How did that workout for you?

Nice video!
Short and to-the-point
Is it possible to not install it on the original rearview mirror, and put it on the side?
6:20 That wasp isn't happy! Question, when you're in drive does the screen simply display the backup camera stream? Or when it's off it's a mirror?
No it was not! The screen stays on and displays a “digital rear view”, which takes a bit of getting used to but I’m coming to like it quite a bit. You could also set it for the screen to turn off completely, but the mirror isn’t as good as the factory one then
Thanks for a very clear and concise instructions. I will revisit when it comes to installation in our two Rav4s. Cheers
Is there anyway to reduce the glare on the mirror, you can barely see the screen in daytime?
I'm also facing the same issue
play with the brightness maybe

Hello Thank you for this great video, do you know if there is a way to bypass the cigarette lighter? I only have 1 in my car and I use it to charge my phone.
The easy way is to buy a cigarette lighter splitter
The reverse camera is working but when I put the car into reverse the lines aren’t showing up
Can you please give more product detail on that little connector for the backup camera? What it’s called and where to buy? TY.
What about the wire for the ciggerate charger how I hide that one I’m not doing the reverse
Do they have a kit that wires directly to the battery? The 12-volt supply is hokie.
Very cool pace of explanation
Need more details on where you plugged in the constant power tap to the camera setup
Anything with key on power
Common sense

Can I use front/back recording and back cam for parking if i get the power from cigarette thingy? I don't wanna mess stuff
May I know what is(are) the connector(s) called in 6:30-6:40 please?
How did you know that the green wire was the correct one to attach the t-splice onto?

Doe’s the rear camera recording or only the front?
Both!
Thanks for the great video. How did you route the wire from the camera outside into the vehicle?
I routed it through the seal between the two doors
@@CashedOutCars Thanks! That sounds much better than drilling another hole in the roof!

is there a way to change it back to mirror when it is on? like the screen?
hi, how do you change the setting for time lapse? cause when i review my videos in my computer the videos was in fast forward. Thank You!
Very nice explanation Brother, Thank you for your great efforts.
Can you plz tell me how is the mirror clarity & visibility when power turned OFF.
Hi, how do I remove the zoom from the rear camera, I see the cars very close when they are not really there
If you pinch out (like you might with your phone if you were trying to zoom out) I believe this will fix that issue
Is that a Saab behind your van ? If so.. kudos!
It sure is! It’s a 92X Aero, I sold it about a year ago but loved that car
If you’re installing this in a work van, make sure you call Wolf box immediately as they will have to send you an extra long cord. The one they provide is not long enough.
Does this mirror dash cam ever click your buttons on the stock mirror accidentally? Good review btw
I haven't had any issues with that!

I'm probably late but have you check the grounding cables, where it's earthed to the vehicle metal body
Do I have to buy the wire kit for my fuse box separately? I have the same model but it didn't come with a kit for engine power detection. Thanks.
Yes unfortunately it is an additional kit for that
Which color of the wire is constant?
Did you need a hardwire kit for the timelapse functionality? Thank you.
I did use one for mine

Says has GPS. Does it have it built in or do you need a god antenna to plug in
It has a small GPS unit that plugs into it, no need for a big antenna
Wheres the red wire come into play off the camera did i miss it
How did you get it to automatically load the split screen view upon start up??? Mine auto loads rear view only!
Should be a option in the settings where you can have it set to split.
I noticed it stays on when parked. How do i stop it from draining my battery?
You’d need to find a switched power source or use the hardwire kit that they offer
I was looking to get this for my saab and then I see you also have one
They’re a blast! Mines an 05 Manual Aero, what is yours?

That's a great question, and to be honest I haven't tried that. I actually sold this vehicle with the camera so I can't check
In setting you can set tramper activated or time lapse, it records both. Hope this helps
can I not connect the rear cam line to the reverse light so that I can continuously see the rear view while I am driving and reversing?
You can set it to show the rear view always, the light connection is just so that it shows you the lines when you are backing up

What is the red wire for on the back up camera???
Wiring it to the car’s reverse light cord so the dash cam can detect when you’re reversing.
Does it come with tape to mount it?
Should all come with double sided tape to install the rearview camera.
wasp nest for adding more security

I'm still confused on the hardwire kit and how it's suppose to install.

You’re welcome! Happy to help
Can you already connect it to your already existing rearview camera?
You may be able to tap into an existing rear view, but that'd be a little more complex than this. I'm not 100% sure on that
Thx
