      I’m only using it to get the achievement for shooting 1000 arrows. Once I’m done I ain’t touching that class ever again makes you feel like a bitch 😂

      @@ryanvouche254 Yeah, in a game where the majority of the combat is melee, let's let a class have projectiles that do pretty solid damage and annoy the shit out of everyone. Why? Because it's a medieval game, we HAVE to have archers. Never said I disagree with the class being in there, but I whole heartily think that it's the easiest class to play and the most annoying to deal with. Also, don't come at me with "Realism this and that" BS, it's a game, it's meant to be fun. With that being said, go on, say something clever.

    When you do an inevitable weapon guide or tier list, I think you should split it in 1v1 and 1vX. That distinction is quite important to make!

      @@SPDChemist There are some Lists going around already but I don´t think they matter too much at this state, maybe once a ranked or competitive mode or smth is implemented you could see a kind of Meta establishing there but the very chaotic and casual nature of the Objective maps so far doesn´t really warrant this type of hyper optimization and with the different modifiers and damage values against other classes there will never be a truly BEST weapon for every scenario.

      @@Red5kull Just one esport and look how the devs quickly buff/nerf things, other than whales the next major factor for buff/nerfs are the results of esports, since sponsors from these events are instant big money, plus the hype esport garners, attracts even more players

      Yeah the damage buff from blunt weapons should at most make it so they do equal percent damage to knights and vanguard not to a point where vanguards need less hits.

      Yeah i usualy avoid playing knight. Cause in most cases hes the squishiest character since if your fighting a guy with a blunt weapon your basically as tough as an archer

      @@Proxi_Ex I practice hema and every once in a while we do full contact sparing with blunted metal blades and full armor and believe me getting hit on any of your limbs hurts like a mother even through gambison and mail
      I can imagine it still hurts, probably not lethal but still painful

    Very insightful.
    For me, the fun chiv2 is all about the randomness of the game, hit, push, run for your life, etc
    I wouldn't strategically plan what weapon I use during the game, I'll go for whatever seems fun to play with

    At the moment I am level 30 and here are some things I noticed in terms of balance.
    Messer is THE meta weapon. It's long, deals good damage, can hit multiple opponents and fast. It literally has no drawbacks. Other good weapons I've noticed are polehammer, executioner's axe and dane axe.
    Shortsword and regular sword can swing faster than a riposte in some cases, meaning you can hit people with slow weapons if you spam m1, depends on the angle of attack.
    Vanguards are too tanky, especially compared to footmen. Most of the time a footmen will die sooner than a vanguard due to how common axe and blunt weapons are. You also noticed this with how maul one shots knights and footmen but not vanguards.
    Blunt weapons that stop on hit, will not stop on heavy attacks and will pass through enemies.
    It seems like certain sub-classes are notoriously bad for group fights, especially shield footmen and knight. They are excellent for 1vs1 but the lack of range is a huge problem in normal combat.
    Some weapons have absurdly wide attack angles, especially longsword and war axe, it can reliably hit people behind you if they are close. Halberd deals less damage if you hit people at close range and, as I mentioned before, can easily be outpaced by sword and shortsword even if you counter every time.

    Does weapon damage correlate directly to thrown damage as well? In my experience, the Dane Axe seems like it's basically a one-shot when thrown, but I don't get the same results from other two handers.

    Thank you Your Grace! This is an extremely useful video. For someone who gets more takedowns instead of kills, I think I am going to try the weapons which do more damage per hit, to see if it improved the kill ratio.

    Dane axe and war axe/battle axe easiest way to be top of the leaderboard they need to be slower than long sword not just a directly better choice :)

    Executioner’s axe is definitely the go to weapon when you’re playing in the 64 player modes. Helps a ton with multi kills.

    I seem to always get clapped by the Executioners Axe and the One Handed Spear. Both are nearly impossible to block.

      Executioner's axe has super deceptive range with the animation; the model slides both hands down to the very end of it so its basically full weapon length PLUS the arms, which is not the case with other axes. Treat it like its longer than it is, and turn towards it more to anticipate the hit coming in more from the side. Spears are just aids, but since its always stabs, you can go for stab counters (hold block and stab straight back at it.) Hard to aim correctly at first but master it and then they really can't hit you. If they have a shield, they are usually pretty obsessed with blocking after each stab, and you can often just do a normal block and then kick them to break their pattern.

    And on a sidenote, overall the game feels really good I think. Some things I might think of changing would mess up the well considered balance. You notice how chat is? Shenanigans mostly, the occasional tactics call outs and end game trolls. But nobody is complaining about the game. No BS calls, no nit picking or negative critiques. Everyone just having fun. It's a solid upgrade from Chiv 1 IMO. Beyond fine tuning existing mechanics and adding more content, I'm pretty content.

    What other people might find useful like I did is if they add a new column and use =ROUNDUP(Class health/attack damage). You can then see the amount of hits it takes to kill that class.

    It's odd that there aren't head damage bonuses when they give you bonus points for head hits. I'm often swinging for the head regardless - probably to my detriment.

    Must be a vector denoting the hit location inthe torso hit boxes, since you can decapitate with the right swing.. rear side hitbox also increases damage pretty sure...

    Is it me or these weapons damages and swings speeds have no thought behind them and make zero sense? i have been saying game needs a weapons balance patch since beta first day and this video just proves it more. 1handers deal way too much dmg, Some two handers ranges are near a halberd when they should not be, some swings have too much arc where its almost a 360 degree swing and then some weapons like the Glaive and spear are doing 30-40 dmg with a attack lol...the knife does that damage :(
    Also usually blunt weapons are way heavier/slower then slash weapons but in this game they are fastest a lot of time?
    The weapon Bonuses are a bit much also cause it really makes the Vanguard way stronger then it should be and not so much a glass cannon when you look at bonuses against them and then weapon bonuses vs Knights and Footmen.

      @@raphaelproulx5414 The glaive i just find the damage too low, tried it a lot tonight and it took 3 hits to kill a robot lol, its basically a dagger on a stick and yes its fast but just takes so many hits to kill people.And blunt i just got usto using heavy swings when its more then 1 and its so brutal, especially the polehammer heavy slashes

      Some decisions are weird though the balance is honestly not too bad.
      Still a lot of weapons do have drawbacks without anything to show for it. Blunt weapons for instance have the stop on hit thing without being better than weapons that don´t. The Maul at least gets the special one shot but the others don´t and are kinda shit.

    you missed a 1 shot mechanic. the dane axe throw to the head 1 shots about anything aswell. also throwing damage would be appreciated in the spreadsheet

    I did some maths. And by avarage dmg with each strike heave and light. Only difference of amount of swings u need to kill the class is that knight can tank 1 more heavy overhead. It needs 3 Heavy overheads to kill knight while footmen and vanguards die to 2.

      does it say "headshot" in the scoring for the kill, or does their head just pop off? I've definitely seen that too but idk if it's actually registered as a headshot, or if the animation just does it to be cool

    It's a very strange balancing when the heavy armor high health class gets 1 shot while the low armor low health class takes less damage... I guess that's why you see more vanguards than the others, and footman/knight will just not be played when more people find this out, there is no real benefit to playing them if they take bonus damage whats the point of their "tank" status if they aren't even tanky.

    They need to add an interruption animation or something. Some people are literally impossible to hit and we just stand their swinging wildly for a minute until one of us gets behind the other or lands a kick

      the jab works really well to interrupt attacks, you've just gotta bait out their swing, step in close and get the timing right. You can destroy folks in duels with that, and make it very hard for someone to 1vX you and your teammates. 1vX only even works because everyone attacks the guy instead of mixing it up with jabs and kicks as well

    I find it an odd choice that knights don't have damager reduction for slash damage, or that they don't only have a smaller blunt damager bonus. With all the bonus damage against them it takes away from them being true tanks, despite the extra hit points. (there should probably be no one hitter against them imo) Idk maybe we all need to accept this is intended as a more casual game so true balance + roles wasn't as important
    Have you done any evaluation of weapon reach and hit boxes? I swear some weapons over reach, or it's just from lag.

    The ambusher damage bonus often doesn't trigger, and do you know what causes people to get knocked down? it's such an annoying mechanic for someone who plays as an assassin.

    Huge effort - thanks. Two handed hammer seems quite weak. It's very slow in my experience and mostly does less damage than the (much faster) warhammer. Does the additional range make up for it?

    Tbh I’ve grown to respect the archer role as I’ve grinded trying to get 100% achievements. The pure stress I endured leveling up to unlock skirmisher, followed by the struggle of learning war bow after finally unlocking it… overall I’d say it’s worth it purely just learning how to take advantage of munitions and such, but protecting a teammate getting into a 1vX by headshotting a random fucknut you see moving to hit him from the back, and nothing feels better
