I got this Add-On and it's SUPER, Rudy has a really great UA-cam Chanel. He explains everything in a really nice way and easy to follow. I would go for the 29 euro one it is well worth it.
I checked out the product and it did the job. Beautiful bevels. Must have for beveling, along with Hard Ops, and Mesh Machine. Deadly Combo for hard suffers.
I just started using this add on the other day and absolutely loving it! Thanks for a more in depth video explaining its unique features etc. Very cool tutorial, Justin!
Thanks for the info regarding the Black Friday sale just brought this, and with this tutorial i might well get something meaningful done in Blender at last ;)
I am loving the use of widgets for easier more intuitive control and manipulation of the tools and functions. Makes me hope for Blender to finally add that feature for or by Ver 3.0.
Thank you! I bought Fluent Power during the recent sale but have not had time to learn or play with it yet, so this video and anything else on it is greatly appreciated.
Hi, nice tutorial.... i haver a litle question... When you say i can select my count, your cursor goes offscreen.... and by the time you say by clicking the Y axis is on 20. How did you change the axis count? =) thanks!
Looking at the comments, one thing I haven't seen is a point by point comparison of Boxcutter, Fluent and other similar addons, obviously in the functionality that overlaps in all. Each one represents an investment in time and commitment to their sometimes quirky workflows, so I think it'd be very useful to the Blender community to see a comparison. If there's a video out there that's done this, I haven't seen it. Most useful of all would be to see. side by side, the weaknesses of each, and where each one is best in class. So many reviews/tutorials I see avoid saying anything negative, but it's my feel that no product improves without constructive criticism and robust competition.
Good tutorial. More tutorials would be appreciated it as I purchased this during Blender Market's Black Friday sale. I bought Fluent with Power Trip. More tutorials on Auto Complete, VG Cleaner, Normal Repair and the Pipe & Wires would be great. Happy New Year...
It's a lot of fun, but there's definitely a lot going on in there. Check out the developer's channel here - he's got some great tutorials and information - ua-cam.com/channels/5wQifaWffrZr_2nMUD_qVQ.html
Fluent is the easiest to use and the most accurate with its grid snap. Boxcutter is really good but uses solid boolean objects to cut, whereas Fluent uses shapes that are modified using many modifiers, so you get the most complete non-destructive workflow. Boxcutter is constantly being updated with new features and improvements and is compatible with Blender betas and alphas, it is also the most stable out of these three and has the market share. Speedflow is closer to Fluent but isn't coded as well as Fluent or Boxcutter and the developer is slower to release updates. I have all three, but use Fluent for most of the work.
@@Puckerization Thanks for providing the first comparison that I’ve seen for these tools. 1.) What do you mean by ”not coded as well as” in regards to SpeedFlow? 2.) I have MACHIN3tools and MESHmachine; does any of these conflict or significantly overlap features of MACHIN3’s tools; does one glue better with MACHIN3’s tools? 3.) Seems BoxCutter only operates in Object mode. Does Fluent or SpeedFlow have features that work in both Object and Edit modes, or same deal as BoxCutter?
@@mixchief 1.) I have found that through my own experiences and the bugs reported on the SpeedFlow Discord server, that it has the most bugs compared to Fluent. It also has Undo problems that the dev blames on Blender rather than his own shortcomings.
2.) MACHIN3tools and MESHmachine are a better fit with HardOps and Boxcutter. HardOps even integrates some of Machin3’s features in it's UI.
3.) Fluent works in Object mode. GridModeler works in Edit mode and is quite awesome and cheap...but it has a destructive workflow.
There is only few tutorials about Fluent out there. So thank you for this one. I think you may create some sort of comparison of Fluent vs HOPS. Besides more in depth functionality of the addon
@@seanbrittain4542 LOL - I personally think there's a time and a place for that, like if it's something that offers ongoing value, constant updates, etc. I'm also ok if developers charge when they provide an update as long as it's not some kind of world ending fix that needs to happen - guys gotta make a living. Totally get the people that don't want to do that at all too though :)
@@TheCGEssentials OK, I'll give you that ;) I don't have a problem with a person making a profit on me, I don't like them making a killing ;) Yes, if it has value and meaningful updates and not like for example a new "dashed line option" 0_o
Hi this add-on looks really good, im just wondering if can work well with boxcutter and hardops since i already have them, or if they will interfere ? I hope i can mix and match the three of them in my workflow
I went into EDIT mode, after using Fluent, and everything I did in OBJECT mode is gone, why is that? Also, I tried printing, and nothing prints as seen on the screen. Just learning from you, so maybe you explain this in the future videos.
Thanks for this overview, Justin, since the Dev's own "tuts" are incomprehensible due to his French accent. It's so thick, it almost sounds like a long, drawn-out comedy skit.
@@TheCGEssentials I'm just getting back into blender after 3 years, essentially a beginner. Hopscutter is hard for me to get a solid grip on. I like to tinker with my models as well so this looks like a great idea for my needs. I'm looking to have to touch my keyboard as little as possible. Great video, would really like to see more on this Addon 😁👌
In the sense that they both are designed for hard surface type stuff, sure. Not sure what the curved surfaces really has to do with this - they work the same way
Love the tut, a tiny bit of feedback is to *please* cut out parts where you like, select the wrong thing or mess up a tiny bit, and just go back, do them again, and replace them in the video section while leaving the audio the same, it's kinda distracting personally.
That kind of depends on what you need. Sometimes clean topology is a super big deal, sometimes it doesn't matter quite as much, and if this tool gets you where you need to be, then I think it's a good addition.
I am watching now I will report back my rating haha when I am done [Edit] Nvm its paid and I did not know it was a add I just seen beginners start here and hard surface modelling

Hi everyone! Let me know what tools you're using for hard surface modeling in Blender in the comments below! :)
Gridmodeler mostly. But I don't model a lot. Just a little. ;-)
i use blender
Would you reccomand this addon over hard ops ?
@@g0me2z can not give honest answer here, i am nit an hardops user. As for Gridmodeler - i just love grid principle very much.

Man, you read my mind. I was just looking for a decent and recent tutorial on Fluent, and there it is!!! Keep up the good work Justin! :)
More coming :)

How do you make the object automatically bevel when you create a cut like at 3:45?
Great video, thanks! I would love some more in depth Fluent tutorials, esp now that 2.0 has landed.
How can i export models after modelling in fluent tools without errors? thanks for support!
12:11 Can I also wire mesh in the box cutter addon or can it only be done in the fluent addon?
I can't decide which addon to buy
Everytime I cut something it bevels whole object is there a way to disable auto baveling?

SpeedFlow, have same functions? What's the best? Boxcutter, SpeedFlow or Fluent? thanks for support!
