    Hi everyone - let me know what you think about Grid Modeler in the comments below! :)

    I own all three: boxcutter, hardops and grid modeller. The latter is the one I use the most for prototyping. Simple commands, ease of use and quick results. My favourite addon!

      Yep for sure - Grid Modeler is great for those fast models :)

    Thanks again Justin - this may be my new favorite add-on!
    2 minutes after buying it, I wondered if you REALLY needed to be in face mode, or if it worked in edge or vertex mode. It does, and the results are great! Here's a cool tip - start with a single vertex, edit, and hit Grid Modeler. Now you have a grid plane that is super easy to use, add faces, pipes, whatever, with precision. This one is cool and has potential!

      Great point - it does align with edges and vertices as well - it's definitely a lot of fun! :)

      @@TheCGEssentials The new interactive primitives in Blender 2.92 and Grid Modeler make quite a powerful combination. I just discovered what "A" does and how it shows divisions on the surface nicely without the need for making subdivisions or loop cuts!

    Very Useful review. I definitely want to get this tool now, as the thing i'm trying to create with blender is Mechs and honestly this tool seems like it would have a billion uses for that.

    Whooowhats up Justin 😁
    although I already know and use BC, HO and Fluent, GM looks pretty interesting.
    So you can choose which workflow suits you best.
    At the moment I'm more at Fluent than BC because of the workflow, but both are very good tools.
    However, Fluent brings more tools with it than just boolean operations - (grids, pipes, wires, chains - with templates - just great).
    Let's see, maybe I'll take a closer look at GM.
    Thanks for the introduction, Justin!

      I'd say the one thing to be aware of with Grid Modeler is that it's destructive - you can't make changes to the booleans like you can with Fluent - I do like how quick it is though

    i used to fk up the ngons while using hardops and come up with a clumsy model (due to my own shortcomings not the tool ) sice grid modeler , the control on the mesh mess has gone down

    Thanks for sharing your insights on this one ;)

    Hi Sir, i find this very helpful for me as a beginner, thank you so much for this.. by the way Sir, can we use some other modifiers for smoothing edges and surfaces afterwards we finish our desired object on grid modeler?

    I don't quite understand the shortcuts because my English is a little weak. What is the shortcut to growing the grid and how the grid can expand to the outside of the object. What is the shortcut to extrude and what key do we press to confirm after we have drawn on the grid.

    • @sameeruddin
      @sameeruddin 2 роки тому +1

      use ALT+ Mousewheel to Expand the grid size and then can immdiately start drawing the shape , if you like to further expand the grid , you can while drawing you can use alt plus mousewheel combo to expand or shrink the grid , you can use space bar to break the shape and start drawing it from a new point

    Does this compliment something like Fluent? How do you think this compares with Fluent? Nice video, as usual.

    • @TheCGEssentials
      @TheCGEssentials  4 роки тому

      Sort of - Fluent uses booleans for more of a non-destructive workflow. It feels to me like this is more designed for quick modeling based on what I'm reading on the developer website, and it does feel like you're going faster when you use it, but the fact that it's destructive does mean you can't go back and make changes later
