- Tool Assisted Speedrun. This is a new run I made of the Julius mode in Castlevania Aria of Sorrow, it beats the previously fastest movie by 7.7 seconds. Tool Assisted - these games are played using a emulator at super slow speeds and save states. Realistically this is what it should look like when generations of Belmonts have bred and trained themselves for the express purpose of murdering demons and Dracula. Julius is the peak of all the training, skills, artifacts, and weapons of hundreds of years. It's no wonder he can just dab on some poser to the throne after being the Belmont to actually straight kill Dracula.
I love how when there is a transformation animation the TAS flexes its inability to get carpal tunnel.
13 years on, and that Headhunter fight is still one of my favorite moments in TASes.

Julius, during the AoS arc, felt ashamed that he couldn't do what Soma could, like fly around. In response, he starts hopping around like some bunny rabbit that had a few too many Monsters to drink.
Too bad he can't quite hold a candle to the stunts that Maxim pulls off during Harmony of Dissonance.

Imagine being Dracula sitting in your throne. You start hearing rumbling sounds, you take out your crystal ball and see what's making the ruckus, and you see this. You can't quite make out what it is, but it's systematically slaughtering everything in its path and by the time you make out that it's a Belmont, the door to your left is kicked in.

I can't put into words how much I love this video, and moreover, its comment section.
Edit: even if nowdays this route is far from the most optimal one, this will still remain the most memorable Julius TAS in my opinion.
ULE INTENSIFIES
The problem is that Julius was in a lot of pain at the time as he was having a seizure, this wasn't him normally.
XainArchives His seizure slowed him down a lot. Had he not been having it, he would have finished in a third of the time.

You gain a lot of strength by killing the bosses (or technically by grabbing the orbs that appear after you defeat them), so I do a lot more damage against Graham by killing Headhunter first. The final fight would take 2-3 times as long to do if I went straight to him.
I just tried it and it think it would take at least 6 of 10 minutes. 1 damage per hit hurts
I hope Terminalmontage would make an animation about this particular speedrun

It's a shame. Julius feels so fluid in this game compared to Dawn of Sarrow.
Most Vampire Killers spend a minimum of half an hour in Dracula’s Castle. Julius only needed about 5 minutes.
This was fun thanks. I never knew you could be Julius in Aria of Sorrow until today so I missed out.
Usually in every metroidvania and 3D Castlevania, you can play as an extra character or more in SotN it was Richter, (I can't speak for Circle of the Moon and Harmony of Dissonance), in Aria it is Julius, in Lament of Innocence its one of the bosses wich I cannot remember the name of, in 64 its Carrie Fernandez, in Legacy of Darkness its Henry (I don't remember the lastname), in Curse of Darkness its Trevor, in Dawn of Sorrow its Julius, Alucard and Yoko, in Portrait of Ruin its the sisters, in Order of Ecclesia its Albus. So, to sum it up and you have any of those games:
SotN - Richter
Aria - Julius
Lament - one of the bosses
64 - Carrie Fernandez
Legacy of Darkness - Henry
Curse of Darkness - Trevor
Dawn - Julius, Alucard and Yoko
Portrait - The sisters
Ecclesia - Albus
Actually, in Harmony of Dissonance, you can play as Maxim instead of Juste.
Also, In portrait of ruin, you can play as Richter and old axe armor

the reason Konami won't give us Castlevania 1999, is that Julius is just too powerful and any attempt to show his full power would brick most PCs this whole video is just 1% of his power
Because there is a second or so after entering a new area that you can't move, but doing a backdash just before entering the area will make you travel the distance of the backdash during that time.
The most powerful Belmont, everyone. This is the culmination of hundreds of years of tradition.
