Hi .. I was at that concert way back in 1973 sitting in the 9th row orchestra at MSG. I was 16 years old then and I'm 66 now . Zeppelin played close to 4 hrs that nite . That's exactly what I was gonna say, he left his body at certain points in that solo. You can see it his face, he's flying out into the universe on the notes of his guitar. He's actually speaking a universal language through the guitar. He is a true master of the guitar because it's so hard to let your being find it's voice and tell your life's story, all the pain, sorrow, joy , happiness, the highs and lows, and most importantly your hopes and dreams through your instrument. It's a rare individual that can do that. It's not that technical at all, there are shredders that can do finger gymnastics and play with lightening speed but they aren't saying anything. It's dazzling but it doesn't hit you deep down where you live. Jimmy just told everybody a profound story with his guitar. It doesn't matter who you are you know that solo hit you in the feels. Oh man, I didn't realize I watched this twice and commented both times! Haha.
Me too! I bought a DVD of "The song remains the same" when I was 19. And it changed my life. I have been a dedicated Led Zeppelin fan ever since. He could have literally just made solo albums of just bow on guitar.

You guys need to watch the movie that this is from, “The Song Remains The Same”. It’s Led Zeppelin in concert at Madison Square Garden in July 1973, and some fantasy sequences with the band members. You can watch it for free on UA-cam, or buy the DVD or Blu-Ray with all the extras. It’s one of those movies you’ll watch over and over, and you’ll tell everyone you know about it.

I was at the infamous Tampa concert in 77 with 70,000 fans. Led Zep only played 3 songs but they were great. In the middle of the third song a very intense thunderstorm blew through with lightning and high wind. The musicians left the stage after the third song and an announcer said hang tight that they will be back. 45 minutes later the show was canceled and a riot broke out. The show was billed as rain or shine. Tampa police enjoyed beating and tear gassing the pot smoking fans that rushed the stage. I was not a stage rusher but watched the melee from about 100’ away. Got to “enjoy” some of the tear gas. So much for my $10 admission which at the time was the most expensive concert I had attended.

@@AirplayBeats Yeah, it's a pain but when videos get blocked for copyright, reactors have to go through the process of disputing that under the "fair use" rules (works of commentary, criticism, research, teaching, or news reporting may be considered fair use) and it can sometimes take weeks for them to OK the video. For that reason, many reactors won't bother with live performances, which is a shame. But one would think UA-cam would have a better system to detect when it's a reactor posting a video for commentary and criticism versus trying to make money off it.
Yes, Plant is playing a tambourine during Page's solo, but he is nowhere near a microphone so how would you hear it?? The tambourine sound you hear is from the 'hi-hat tambourine' that Bonham is playing with his left foot.

Nice reactions to one of, if not the single geatest Rock tune ever. Your appreciation for Jimmy's mastery of his weapon of choice is obvious and great to see! But can I recommend you listen to John Bonhams legendary solo Moby Dick, from the Royal Albert Hall concert in I think 1970? It is long though, so patience is needed, but the payoff will blow your minds. Keep up gods work lads!

It’s hard to absorb it all in one sitting but I have no doubt you fellows will enjoy the living shit out of it. Great channel, you guys are sharp.
I don't know why your live Zep reviews get blocked while other reviewers don't. Would love to see La and Che review the live video of Since I been Loving You. Maybe one day soon...
keep in mind the whole time Jimi Page is shredding John Bonham has to keep up with him on the drums and John Paul Jones on the keyboards (playing the bass with his feet on foot pedals) syncing in and out as Page rages !! Jimi never plays the same song exactly the same in concert so the other two musicians have to constantly adapt on the fly and make it all sound in sync - only guys that have played and played together, the same song a thousand times can come sounding like Zeppelin !!
I swear you took the words out of mouth. You can see his face when they focus in while he's jammin, he's there physically but he's somewhere else. Speaking, singing, and crying with that guitar. It's a rare player that can speak their existance and emotion through theit playing and they are the true masters. Some guitar plays can play circles atound Page technically but it's just gibberish. jimmy has everyone's attention.
Hey guys, LOVE your reactions, but I'm confused as to why you haven't reacted to the studio version of Stairway to Heaven. There's nothing like it, and especially any live version they performed. IDK if you ever got any good explanations for the song, but Plant was all about Tolkein. A lot of his lyrics riff off that world. I never got any sort of religious vibe from it. Buying a stairway to heaven seems to me like someone opportunistically trying to ascend a social ladder. The lady shining white light sounds like Galadriel from Lord of the Rings to me.

JPJ is using a fretless bass ( supposedly, can’t see )so he can keep up with Jimi and they are all turned up to 11 for this concert. It’s hard to absorb it all in one sitting but I have no doubt you fellows will enjoy the living shit out of it. Great channel, you guys are sharp.
So sad your video reviews of Zep get blocked while other reactions don’t! Grr!
WHO IS JIMI?
Where there's smoke there's fire. And Jimmy f'ing Page brought it.
You’ve got to do the 28 minute live version of Dazed and Confused from MSG. You have too! 0:04
PLEASE react to the last song on side one of Led Zeppelin 4, or as we called that album back in the day ..... ZOSO. I think your minds will be blown by the studio recording. - Sandy
Heatwave groove line drum cover 4 the drummer brother of your channel boss

Listen for Dazed and Confused liveMSG 30 minutes long
Hey Guys love your reaction to this but isf you want to see the best watch Live at Earls Court Page breaks a string and then goes wild
Wait until you react to Dazed and Confused from the same concert
There is a reason Jimmy Page is in every conversation about the GOAT of guitar.
I’m making a t shirt that says “where’s my lighter at man?”
I’d have to get one of those shirts. My bro always takes my lighter
@@AirplayBeats I’ll design it this weekend and will send you one, on me. Am enjoying all the reactions, I think I’ve watched 80% of what’s uploaded. Great and insightful observations. I’m biased towards heavy 70s rock but would love to see some p-funk reactions from the glory days 1970 to 1980!
@@DavidMunoz-wy2ns PFunk coming up my friend!!

😒 mommy wouldn't let me go! 🙄 Okay mommy wasn't paying for it. 🤨 Had to watch every one in class the next day doing the 🎸👈 "Page Point". 🤗 Finally saw them in 11th Grade, 79' at MSG with 🏀 Knicks Banners blocking my view. Worth all that saved Bday, Xmas & Babysitting money to see Bands like PF, Zep, Queen, Bowie at my local Venue, MSG. As well as all the shows at the Apollo in Harlem. 🤭 I was bussed and the only black girl in Class year after year after year. 😁 These are the Albums I did Homework to. 😊🤭😁🐰
What a great story!!
"Where's my lighter at?!"
Jimmy!
Smoke a fatty and watch the movie. Crank it up!
The double neck guitar is composed of 12 string on the top and a 6 string in the bottom - Gibson Custom EDS-1275 Double Neck
You need to react to the Dirt album by Alice In Chains !!!!
