Most of these reaction people have been so secluded in one genre, like hip hop, that they don't even understand other genres, and don't know enough about music to appreciate a legend when they see one.
It took 2 or more different guitars in the studio to do some of their songs. So he got the double neck, its a 12 string on one neck, a 6 string on the other. If you watch,he does switch back and forth through the song.
Jimmy Page uses the double headed guitar when he will be using both 12 and 6 string guitars in the song so he doesn't have to switch guitars in the middle of the song. All he has to do is slide up or down depending on which guitar he needs to use
Never, Never, NEVER pause during a guitar solo. This is real music. To NOT to have heard this song before a person must have been born on another planet. I do NOT listen to Country Music, but I have heard of Buck Owens, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Sr., and Chet Adkins and I know their songs. I am Black and I grew up with Led Zeppelin.

I went to the MSG concerts - THEY had more than one (I did go to the 73 here) , And saw them at Royal Albert Hall.. ( the taped one) PLEASE just listen to the music . ZEPPELIN usually played at least 3 hours and over 4 hours a few times. Every member is ranked in the top 20 of what they do. Usually on most all list John Bonham (drummer) is #1 . Jimmy Page (God with the guitar) is #2 tied with Eric Clapton . And Robert Plant is always top 10 rock singers. John Paul Jones the bass player is #6 on most list ( he is the neck of zep) Jimmy page is a God and known for feeling the music and he just makes you feel it. It's called a double neck. You can play 2 different guitar sounds throughout the song. One neck is a 6 string and the other is a 12 string. Led Zep. best band of the 70's.
Robert Plant said: "...a woman getting everything she wanted without giving anything back". I think there's a link between Stairway to Heaven, tarot reading and The Celtic Cross Spread. Maybe the Lady he talks about is the Empress, she has a golden orb in her staff. There is also a reference to the May Queen, which can be an allegory to Mother Earth, the Queen of Wands rules the Spring, wands correlate to the Earth. Eventually, the Lady dies and reaches salvation. "To be a rock and not to roll" could mean to be a rock (stand up for what you believe in) and not to roll, to be constant. It's just a theory. You can also see The Hermit in Stairway to Heaven poster and the song Gallow's Pole is a meditation or an inspiration on The Hanged Man. I'm a newbie to tarot reading so I don't have much experience, but I'm sure of what I typed.
'Stairway to heaven' came together in 1971 when guitarist Jimmy Page was playing a tune and Robert Plant (vocals) just wrote the lyrics very spontaneously... Plant was a huge fan of the Tolkien books ('Lord of the rings'... 'The Hobbit') and it was likely inspired by that fascination of the bridge between the real & fantasy worlds... You can 'buy' a stairway to heaven, but does one truly exist? How do you tell someone who believes in something so stubbornly, when it may turn out to be a figment of imagination? It has that vibe... it became Led Zeppelin's biggest radio single ever.
*I personally am interested in what you thought of the music* .????? I can't shepard ANOTHER reaction channel, especially to *MY* G.O.A.T. band unless THAT feedback is forthcoming.! Otherwise it just feels like a mechanism to spike subs..... you feel me.? Respect.....*David* .....
You don't understand music...you are amazed and confused by what you see but before hip hop and rap....rock n roll / blues you had to have actual talent. You didn't use computers or synthesizers you used skill mastery of the Drums the Bass Keyboard and 🎸🎸🎸 guitars. You need to sit back and watch these guys perform from live stuff far back as 69'. You must let your mind absorb this magic.
It's just mystical musings over magical music! Jimmy Page is the greatest guitar player in history. Check out more of their live performances. Warning, you're not going to understand much of their music unless you are a little familiar with Greek mythology, Viking mythology, a little bit of occult Magick, and have read Lord of the Rings (not just watched the movies) and other Tolkien lore. Otherwise, you will have no chance of interpreting lyrics. Well, granted, some of it is just sex and drugs and rock and roll. It's all about the music and the creativity of the greatest band ever. Enjoy the journey!
Best performances are live from MSG. Double neck, one 6 string, one is a 12 string. You are watching the most epic song in rock history. Greatest band ever.
Now that you have listened to the original . Guys go watch Heart do this live at the Kennedy Center Honoring Led Zeppelin. John Bonham is the drummer of Led Zeppelin he passed away in 1980 . His son is playing his dads set of drums at the Kennedy Center for Heart and it was a surprise to the Band Members of Led Zeppelin …. I promise you won’t be disappointed
I never really cared what they were talking about here. I just think it Is a Badass tune. Love it live as I have heard the studio version so many times. Hell , I love that too. Just jam with it.
12 stings on one the other is typical 6 string that give different sound tones and instead of switching guitars during the song he just uses the other neck
The point of the double guitar is in this particular song there are a parts in acoustic guitar ,others with an electric guitar .easier for Jimmy switching guitar sounds.......too understand Led Zeppelin lyrics .. Robert ,the inger , mani lyricist was very fond of celtic mythology ,,
A multi-neck guitar is a guitar that has multiple fingerboard necks. They exist in both electric and acoustic versions. Although multi-neck guitars are quite common today, they are not a modern invention.
I always just interpreted the lyric to mean whatever I felt like at the time. And over the course of nearly 50 years of listening to this song, that has changed a lot. Music was different before video. Back in the day the music was interpreted by the listener, the audience. After video, music got pigeon holed into meaning whatever the visuals represented. Now everybody is hung up on the literal meaning, like if they don’t understand the song the same way as everybody else they’re some kind of oddball. Either that or we were all just oddballs back then. Hell, I don’t know. But I do believe video has stunted music creativity.
The benefit of a double neck guitar (which looks like two guitars stuck together) is that it allows the player to switch instruments when there is no time to actually strap on another guitar-even in the middle of a song!
Thanks for the reactiom. About the double guitar=upper part=12 strings guitar, lower=6 strings regular guitar. it allows more chord progressions. Instead of having to alternate between 2 different guitars. Have a nice day & I'll look more of what you did.
Is hard for me to explain cause my English is not that good, but the reason of two arms(?) guitar is cause he start the music with acoustic-electric guitar and at the end the real guitar comes, he would never be able to do that fast in a show so they created this one only for him 😉 sorry if I did any mistakes, love from Brazil, Led Zeppelin the best rock band that ever existed... We have different words for the instruments so I'm really sorry if I made any mistake 💚🇧🇷
Im just here to say I don’t care if you stop during a solo I’ve heard 100 times. People get too attached to this stuff sometimes. This is about how there are good and bad spirits everywhere that we can not see, smell, taste or touch they influence everything that all of us do. Led Zeppelin tapped into that power thats why all their tunes are dope af.
It's a Double Neck guitar. On the upper neck are 12 strings (6 strings each with another 1/8 of different tuning). This setting gives more sound and is used in the second part of the song and at the end in a more distorted Riff. The bass neck is a common 6-string guitar used at the beginning of the song and of course in the solo.
Robert Plant wrote the lyrics. He said in a 2004 interview with NPR that he was looking for a more organic relationship with generations and the environment. Returning to nature to look for all of the signs to be aware of our environment the way the people from long ago marshalled their days.
Led Zeppelin was formed in 1968 after Jimmy Page's (guitar) previous band The Yardbirds, broke up... he found a young talent named Robert Plant (vocals) and was recommended John Bonham (drums) by Plant... John Paul Jones (bass/ keyboards) joined after he had worked w/ Jimmy Page on a project; he had already become a prolific musician/ songwriter in England. They were the first British band to revolutionize 'heavy' rock music in 1969 after hearing the music of 50's blues artists and 60's rock bands like The Who & The Jimi Hendrix Experience. By the 70's they were literally one of the biggest bands in the world... their 4th album 'Led Zeppelin IV' (which had 'Stairway to heaven') in 1971 has sold over 24 million copies in the US... a top 5 selling record in the world. Tragically, Led Zeppelin were also proof that money & fame could not bring happiness... All their riches did not save them from drug & alcohol abuse... marriage problems... crash crashes & injuries that took months to heal... the death of Robert Plant's 5 year old son... and finally, the untimely death of drummer John Bonham in 1980 that ended Led Zeppelin... Even today, Robert Plant get offers in million$ to play as 'Led Zeppelin' w/ the original 3 members and refuses; the loss of his friend John Bonham still affects him today.
Point of double guitar is 1 is a 6 string and the other a 12 string, meaning you can use both when needed which Jimmy Page had to do while playing Stairway to Heaven
One of the most iconic songs known throughout the world. This song is a epic high fantasy in musical form. The lyrics were actually a bit random without much substance. Thematically however it’s about an epic journey and how the Stairway to Heaven doesn’t come easy, you have struggle for it. Next the Zeppelin list: Achilles Last Stand or When the Levee Breaks
This has got to be THE MOST untheusiastic review Ive ever seen on YT or in my life even. When you have more experience in life you will get what the words mean. This is when music artists actually had to play the instruments and sing. Thats why they call 70s rock real music. BTW, Led Zeppelin is so relevant today as they were back then that they had a reunion concert a couple years ago and there were only 18,000 tickets. 20 MILLION (yes Million with an M) people tried to purchase one to see them. They were just honored at the KENNEDY CENTER for being the Greatest Rock Blues band of all time with President Obama, Senators, A-list actors and Rappers in the audience paying hommage to the Gods of Rock. To be amongst the greatest rock blues band in history with tears in their eyes. When you learn about music and more genres besides hip hop you start to aquire an appreciation for real talent as it comes few and far between. When you mature more and aquire that experience as you get older you will be in awe when you listen to these older bands. Led Zeppelin's worldwide fan base was young and old because that was a time where even young people your age were raised amongst real music and flocked to where it was. There was no autotune and effects to make you look and sound better. You either had it or you didnt and you had to earn it. Wasnt about who you know or how you look or how popular your video was because it looked cool. You guys were raised amongst low standards in the industry. Premade crap full of effects machines autotune and distractions but its all you know so its expected that you guys didnt have a taste for it (if you did you sure couldnt tell) but you will with experiience if you care about what qualiity is and press for knowledge. You'll develop an ear for quality over a name and over time. With age comes experience. People your age aint rockin those old rock t-shirts because they're pretty you know. Take care.

Thanks for the reactiom. About the double guitar=upper part=12 strings guitar, lower=6 strings regular guitar. it allows more chord progressions. Instead of having to alternate between 2 different guitars. Have a nice day & I'll look more of what you did.
So that Double Neck guitar is an EDS 1275 model, specifically made for Jimmy Page.
@9:26 NO!!!!!!! DO NOT INTERRUPT THE SOLO!!!
12 string on top, 6 string on bottom. If you noticed he played them at different points in the song. The GOATS!
The top neck of the double guitar is a 12 string guitar, the bottom neck is a regular 6 string.
The 12 string is for the rhythm playing, the 6 string is for the lead playing or soloing.
Check out Led Zeppelin "Kashmir" Live from Celebration day Concert
One of the best rock songs ever. (... and older than me ; ) )
The Gibson double neck guitar one is a 12 string and the other is a 6 string!
The double guitar is a 6 string on one neck and a 12 string on the other.
Even today, Robert Plant get offers in million$ to play as 'Led Zeppelin' w/ the original 3 members and refuses; the loss of his friend John Bonham still affects him today.
top guitar neck is a 12string guitar the botton guitar neck is a traditional 6 string
If you want to know, what the song is about, read "The Lord of the Rings"
Point of double guitar is 1 is a 6 string and the other a 12 string, meaning you can use both when needed which Jimmy Page had to do while playing Stairway to Heaven
Omg that pause... Jimmy I'm so sorry lol
To say you guys suck is an understatement.
Jimmy REFUSED to ever let record labels release singles. 👍🏽
eargasm
No no NO! Stopped the video during the greatest goddamn guitar solo of all time???
Listen to Dazed and Confused from the same concert MSG 73.
Not supposed to interrupt someone mid guitar solo
I love the puzzled looks. These lyrics have puzzled people forever….
Don't interrupt the solo. Jimmy Page is great. Led Zeppelin is my favorite band.
Let that guitar play
Duel neck Gibson. Top is 12 strong bottom is 6. Different sounds. Different tones.
Take care.
the keys are keyed in two different keys thats why there is two in one guitar
the recorded version is the best version
I wanted to watch it but read in the comments that you interupted the.best guitar solo ever. So I cant.
I agree with every comment.
