How Does an Avoidant React if You Don't Follow up after a Date?

- For an avoidant person, navigating the aftermath of a first date can be a complex emotional landscape. Here's how they might respond:
1. Avoiding Initiation: They're hesitant to initiate contact, fearing they might come across as needy or overly invested.
2. Rationalizing Silence: They'll likely try to rationalize the situation, convincing themselves that the lack of communication is due to the other person's busyness or disinterest.
3. Distracting with Hobbies: To cope with any potential feelings of rejection or disappointment, they'll immerse themselves in their hobbies or activities, using them as a distraction.
4. Minimizing Feelings: They may downplay the significance of the date or their feelings towards the person, as a way to shield themselves from potential emotional vulnerability.
5. Avoiding Confrontation: Instead of confronting the situation directly, they may opt to wait and see if the other person initiates contact, avoiding any potential confrontation or discomfort.

This is exactly me after a job interview 😢
Same💀
I figured that this would be a healthier way of looking at it. The other person obviously is not interested. So, link your wounds, suck it up and move on.
I'm not an avoidant, but i wouldn't contact someone after a date and ask how it was 😂 I will have my amswer by the end of the date, but if it's a job application yes I'm asking, and they will probably tell me I didn't make it 😂😂
Well...that me.
Have you tried telling this to the avoidant attached people?
My avoidant ex texted me immediately after he got home to tell me how wonderful it was. I really don't think it's as if all avoidants are passive.
