    I love this session because the speaker understands the exact attention span of the user. The moment my mind wanders, the speaker tells that it’s normal but bring it back to the breathing. Love the understanding and the synchronisation with the audiences’ mind. Thankyou.

    Doing this I started to realise how shallow my natural breathing is. This made me wonder: does anyone else get more anxious (and even a bit desperate) when doing meditations that require you to focus on your breath? I always get the feeling that I'm suffocating, my heart starts pounding and I start to feel really eager to just stop. I don't know if it's related to the shallow breath thing or if it's my mind playing tricks on me whenever I try to be still, I just know it's absolutely horrid.

      I'm so sorry for you! Meditation should actually calm you down, I think you should slow it down a little and don't take this deep breaths when they tell you to do in the meditation - it would maybe help you when you take in the next meditation only one deep breath and as often you practise you can do more breaths when you feel comfortable and your body geta used to it! Also you can do 'meditation travels' where you just have to listen and feel relaxed, there are no breath technices required :)

      Meditation, especially such that's supposed to make you feel "calm" and "still" just makes me more jittery and annoyed. So I see how it can make someone anxious :( I don't know how people actually get relaxed with it, it's quite an unpleasant experience

    • @user-ng2es7bi5d

      Hello ! this is because your missing the most important concept in meditation: Do not judge!. Focus on what the speaker says without judging, so in your case, you are judging your breath: My breath is shallow, im suffocating, etc. Just feel the breath as it is. One more thing is that the natural breath is shallow. If you do not force your breath, it is very natural to be shallow! :)

    • @ilmatt00
      @ilmatt00 3 роки тому +3

      Abbabb12 Abb I second that! I know my breathing is not that great , and I have gone down that path of feeling anxious because of my breath. One thing that has helped me is just reminding myself that I am surrendering to the experience, regardless of what I think of it

    Don’t give up! I’ve only started meditating for a few months now, and at first it was difficult to focus , but now when he starts asking “if your mind is wandering to bring your attention back” I notice how good my focus is actually getting because my mind didn’t wander the whole 10 minutes! Of course as I go on I’ll try and do 30 minutes eventually an hour, but progress is slow and steady!

    Imma go ahead and say, for people with anxiety, meditation is so very healthy for both mind and body. Often times i find myself beating myself up when I look in the mirror or in my head when I'm at social outings. Meditation allows the mind to release and relax helping you to separate yourself from stressful thoughts and view them clearly. This meditation was so peaceful and I plan on coming back here again and again.

      i guess there are two things to do to stop overthinking: distraction with something so hard that you cant focus on the overthinking (difficult multiplication, singing a song, saying the alphabet backwards), or meditation. Nothing else works because the first thing i try to do is rationalize with myself. but you can't beat the monkey mind. it's too strong.

      @@jamarmartin884 I think it's because you're trying too hard to focus, rather than just breathing and making sure u don't "unfocus" meaning that your mind doesn't drift away. I used to keep saying '"breath in, pause pause pause pause pause, breath out, pause pause pause pause pause" rather than just doing the exercise and getting my focus back on the breathing when it drifts away. The goal is relaxed concentration.

But as I do this meditation, when my mind actually wandered, I happen to suddenly had some flashback scenarios of my dream that I was forcing myself to recall. I don't know if this meditation has something to do when it comes to remembering but after meditating, I clearly recalled that dream scenario that I was forcing myself to think of earlier. I believe this helped me to focus in remembering, thank you! 🤍 Will definitely listen to this on a regular basis.

    I prefer the guidance here because the pauses are not so long and I don't have time to get into some of my super fantasies or reviewing the day's most interesting conversations. His voice is calming but not in an artificial way, but rather in a straight forward, realistic way of speaking. He is vocabulary is clear and simple too which I like. Meditation is simple (in theory) but very difficult to sustain and you have to hard work to improve your meditation.

    Whew I cried some tears during my meditation it was nice though.. it was when I had to count each breath inhale (1) exhale (2) inhale (3) and so on until I got to 10. And around 8,9,10 I felt it and stayed in the meditation until I did it 3 times it was very helpful a release and more understanding will be gathered through my day.
    Thank You.

    This is very well done. It is hard to find guided meditations that include a lot of quiet spaces between directives. This is essential for me. The lack of white noise in the background if another thing that is rare in these guided meditations. Great way to start my day. thank you 🙏🏽

    I have a really hard time staying focused on pretty much anything. I get distracted very easily. As I listened to this session the speaker's voice was calm and soothing. Every time my brain started to wander he somehow sensed it and reminded me to return my focus to my breathing. I come from a very mentally abusive home that constantly fueled me with anger. Listening to the speaker helped me listen to not only my breathing but the pain within me and helped me focus on just that so I could isolate it and then neutralize it. Thank you whoever's the speaker is for helping me out in this session and know I look forward to attending to more in the future.

    This really makes me aware of how busy and noisy my mind is. Controlling the distractions is very difficult but getting better. Oddly, when I'm told at the end to stop focusing and let my mind do what it wants, that's when I suddenly find I get fewest distracting thoughts.
