this actually worked after many days of struggling with my puppy!! the pumpkin is what did the trick !! had been trying the rice and boiled chicken and even the yogurt and none worked on their own

I've just used finely chopped roast chicken and boiled rice. Served cold in small portions 3 hours apart and it has worked great. Previously my Lab puppy pooped like a garden hose! He had eaten some horse poop.

This is great and it truly works. You can also soak a cup of white rice on 4 cups of hot water over night and have them drink the water only throughout the day. You can use the rice to cook it and make this recipe
My pup had diarrhea for 5 days because someone gave him a raw, bad egg and plain white rice was not cutting it! The first day I fed him this, his first poop was SOLID. I've never been more excited to see a turd in my life. I can tell he feels so much better and now he's obsessed with pumpkin

Guys just be aware canned pumpkin isn't actually pumpkin, it's squash. Not sure if actual pumpkin has the same effect, but I have heard a lot of people add a spoonful of canned pumpkin daily or so to their dog food to control softer stools.

Thank you so much for making this. My poor German Shepard had too many table treats over the holiday and had potty issues ever since. We are snowed in at the moment and the vet wanted me to wait and try the bland diet till next Monday. Our dear Luna will eat almost anything but rice. She just picked out the chicken and her diarrhea wasn’t getting any better. I switched to your recipe yesterday and have already seen improvements! She didn’t wake me up in the middle of the night to go potty and her bowl was a lot better. Not 100% but the best I have seen all week. THANKU again!
Hello. Thanks for the info. How many times a day and for how long should we be feeding this to our pup?
1. Chicken breast (boiled), shred as well
2. Half cup canned pumpkin
3. Half cup of dry white Rice
4. 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt (don’t even do yougurt)

If my dog has diarrhea I never gave them yogurt before, so how do I know it's safe without making things worse for them?
The probiotiocs in the joghurt will help balance the gut a bit. I wouldn't consider it as an every day supplement though. My dog had acute diarrhea due to the stress of fireworks (that I thought were banned this year) ....I made her this recipe this morning and she's feeling much calmer (before she would get restless and panicky within 2 hours, indicating she needs to go potty outside:/ I went with her pretty much every 2 hours, also at night.

My year old Golden Retriever, has diarrhea once a month after eating veggies. I've been cooking her turkey burgers with rice. I will try the pumpkin and see if that helps. I have her on a Pristine organic dog food, 2 cups daily with turkey at night only.

1% lowfat cottage cheese
we use ( can ) Pumpkin couple spoons full it works great with rice and a little dry food
Pumpkin and squash family loosen stools, so maybe not the best for when tummy upset. Raw or scrambled egg is a binder and helps in my experience with plain cooked meat.

Tried this. The RICE comes right out in very, very loose stool.
If you dont add calcium to a homemade meal they will have diarrhea... just look it up online.. also the dogs body will pull calcium from their own bones and that's not good at all.. the number 1 mistake for people making meals is not adding calcium.. good luck and do research on what I said..

Egg shells, or buy calcium pills without D3.. rite aid sells them. .. the pills are easier to give.. i just let them melt into a paste in warm water.. or buy calcium for dogs on amazon, they actually sell crushed egg shell to..

this works but what if your dog cant have chicken ? My dog is allergic to chicken and if i feed it to him he gets a bad case of scraching . My vet has told me NOT to feed him anything with chicken . Is there anything that can be used in stead of chicken ??

I have a French bulldog and he’s 9 months old. I switched his food over 3 weeks ago and he was doing fine, well this past Sunday he started having diarrhea and is on day 5 having diarrhea. We give him open farm salmon with no grains, honest kitchen digestive powder supplement, a multi vitamin and honest kitchen goats milk and he’s never had a problem until this past Sunday. He’s acting normal, drinking, playing, drinking, and doesn’t look tired or sick so I’m not sure what’s going on with him. He’s also up to date on all his shots. I’m going to have to give this remedy a try.

No you can steam it just do not season just rice / water.
Rice isn’t recommended anymore because of the starch. The pumpkin is excellent though.

@@arbancito5049 just saw a video from a vet saying same about rice. Her bland diet was boiled chicken or turkey and pumpkin. Went on to explain was rice was not good. I may do something like this and leave out the rice. Have been doing rice and chicken and now see the rice in the diarrhea so not being digested.

Whole hearted from Petco has a great pumpkin purée that my dog loves. It’s just plain pumpkin and water😊
What about the calcium? Those ingredients dont add enough calcium .. I cook every day for my pitbull and always add seaweed calcium, if the dog isnt eating raw bones for calcium then you have to add calcium or the body will pull it from the dogs bones and cause weakness, deficiency, and over time easy fractures... I was going to try this recipe but I dont understand why nobody ever tells people in videos that calcium is the most important ingredient when making homemade food for any animal. And it's the #1 ingredient people forget to put.. and that's why the dog has diarrhea..
I ended up making this and my dog ate it all .. but I put ANIMAL ESSENTIALS SEAWEED CALCIUM in it like I put in all the homemade food.. the yogurt has calcium but not alot...

This is not meant as a long term diet. This is for using for a few days trying to solve a short term diarrhea problem. You are correct, it does not have enough calcium or other nutrients to be a dog’s only source of nutrition , it is strictly meant to settle the stomach to take care of the diarrhea.

My dogs switched to vegetarian diet and they never have diarrhea, don’t pass awful gas anymore, don’t have impacted anal sac problems. I have two dogs so this has saved us so much headaches and helped with their health! Stay away from meat and dairy for dogs. Best way to solidify stool is feed canned organic pumpkin.
Dogs and cats should never be vegetarians.They need heme iron. Plants do NOT give them heme iron. I'm vegan but I would never force my pets to be vegan, that would be abuse.
