Thank you for sharing! Your furbabies are precious! 😍
For everyone who says dogs don't eat vegetables, you ever see a dog eat grass? They know they need veg. Gardener's dogs will often pluck their own snacks too.
Thank you so much for sharing. Definitely going to do this for my fur babies.
Thanks for sharing your recipe
like just for the cleaning of the veggies, so much care
Thank you so much!
You Are an Absolute pAwesome Fur Parent!!! Thank You for Caring So Much for Your Super Cute Pups! God Bless You Sweetheart!!!💞🙏🐾💐✌️
Thank you so so much for sharing!
Thank you so much for watching 🥰🥰
Thank you for a great recipe!!!! I see soooo many recipes that add more rice than anything. Your dogs are so cute 😊
I wouldn't consider this easy as there is so many different ingredients and cooking steps. but thanks for showing what you feed your dogs
I consider it easy because it’s basically how you would cook for yourself. Meats, vegetables etc. most of the seasonings are already in your cabinet and the supplements are your choice. Everything in this video most people already have it in their kitchen. That’s why I consider it easy. But thank you for your view as well as your input. It’s always accepted 🥰🥰💞💞
No preparation steps is hard when you really want the best for your dogs/ dog. It's just a matter of discipline.
Outstanding and comprehensive narration of what and why.
Thank you so much!
Thank you for video.
No problem!! Glad you found it useful 🙏🏾
I’m so glad I came across your video. Processed dog food is just crap. My Frenchie was on it for 4 years and I had no idea it was making him sick! He had severe allergies, ear infections and skin issues. I started him on a homemade salmon diet and it’s balanced with oil and supplements. He no longer scratches like crazy, his fur is silky soft and he no longer smells plus he loves the food. It cost me about 40 bucks a week but I’m so committed because it keeps the vet bills down. It would be cheaper but I think my dog is allergic to chicken and beef products because he licks his paws if given to him so we’ll just stick to fish. I’m happy, he’s happy and so is his vet doctor. Thanks for the video and the education! 😊
Omg hahahahaha, they are adorable and he couldn’t wait to dive in.
Yeah he has no patience with food 🤣🤣🤣
He’s handsome, how old is he? I may have missed it in the video.
@@MsTisme22 he’s an old guy. He’s 12yrs old but 2 at heart 🤣🤣
👍 great job
Thank you so much!
Very good 👍
Thank you 😊
Food cooked with love!!!
Yes!!! 🥰🥰
Miss my Charlie Mack and Yazzy 🥰😍❤. Great video Britty😘
Thanks Mom!! They miss you too ❤️❤️❤️😘
Great homemade food for the doggies 👍👍i also cook for my dog and she is doing great on homemade food
Thank you so much!! Yes, I love how my dogs are thriving on homemade dog food!! 🥰🥰💞💞
Wow!! I love seeing pups eating such healthy meals!! I took the Feed Real course to learn about prepping meals, so I feel like you would enjoy it as well!
i recently found them and attended their live DIY workshop and it was super informative!
Omg that is definitely something I would enjoy. I love learning about healthier eating for my dogs. I’m gonna look that up! Thank you so much! It’s awesome that so many of you know about it. I’m definitely gonna check it out!!
@@TheLuvOfDogs I can tell you do your research and love learning more! It was really helpful for me, so I hope you like it as well :)
Thank you so much! I’m definitely sure I will 🙏🏾❤️
I have three King Charles cavalier. My boy Benny looks like Charlie. So adorable
Yes, I love this breed so much! They have forever puppy faces 🥰
I always thought that peppers are not very good for dogs because of the solanin in it.
But I liked how you expained for what reason you put each ingredient in the meal. And your dogs seem to really enjoy it. 🥰
Red bell peppers are REALLY good for heart function!
Thank you so much!!
Looks great!! Waiting for the full recipe so I can make it for my almost 8 year old Maltese
I will be uploading that to the description today. I am glad you are willing to try it for your baby 🥰
The recipe is in the description now 😊
Love your pups so cute♥️
I have 2 dogs one is a mutt she's 16 Zoe and a 3 yr old Maltese my problem child Sammie lol I asked my vet with Sammie about the tear stains being I always had malteses he recommended 1/2 tsp potatoe starch you can find in supermarket (Jewish food isle) and 1 cup warm water with a cotton ball soak then squeeze out wipe from outer corner down and in a half hour no more stains be sure to dry with warm water you'll be amazed Good Luck 😊
Wow thank you so much!
Fantastic video, thank you so much! I’m going to rewatch for sure. The amount of research you must have done and knowledge you are sharing - wow!
If you are still answering questions mine is that I got a little confused after you steamed the veggies. Then do you put the meats on top of them in instant pot etc? I keep getting burn notice on instant pot because I’m a vegetarian not good cook so..knowing the order of things and do you stir etc.
Anyway, humongous thank you
Glad it was helpful! Yes I steam the veggies first then do the meat next. I was getting the burn notice as well. I usually add a cup of water. Also, you can use a little olive oil at the bottom of the pan in the beginning to help with burning
❤
I DID IT! I am using it as a topper. So far, my two picky Standard Poodles, love it❤️. Thank you
Omg I’m so happy to hear that!!! You’re Welcome!! I love to hear that!!
Hi we have a rescue Toy Poodle. Supposed to be. Does your dog have eye tearing? If yes do you think it’s allergies? Or from something else. Thank you. Just wanted to know how your dog is doing
First you have 3 beautiful fur babies 🥰. I found that my pittie is allergic to eggs and chicken. I wanted to start adding some organ meat but wasn’t sure if chicken organs would cause another reaction. I just started introducing fruits and veggies but he doesn’t like the fruits… uugghhh! The supplements you shared (flaxseed and chia seeds) were super helpful. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! They’re so spoiled 🤣.
Maybe true to purée the fruit and make it into a frozen snack and see if he likes it that way. I’ve found that my dog can handle the organ meat but I know not all dogs are the same. And no problem! I’m glad you got some information out of it!! 🥰💞
How did you find out what your dog was allergic too, did veterinarian do blood test or did you find out by trial and error? My dog has been on Rx dog food since I got her in 2015 from a rescue. Regular dog food breaks her skin out in bloody sores. Her food is almost $90 for a 17oz bag that only lasts about a month.
Trial and error. I would recommend first taking out chicken then remove grains and go from there. Sorry I’m just seeing this
Thank you i hope this helps my itchy dog.
No problem!! I hope so too. Feel free to substitute anything if you need to
Wow! I don’t even cook like that for myself! I have been roasting chicken quarters for my dogs for several years since it is about the cheapest I can get right now at about .69/lb. I’m on a fixed income since retired and can’t afford to buy red meat for myself.
My Shipoms love carrots and I will peel whole carrots for an occasional breakfast, but generally feed my dogs one main meal/day as well. Little dogs can gain weight so fast especially if they have a limited mobility owner. Winter is rough for them, but they have a large fenced yard to run in and they love it when the snow is gone.
I do purchase chicken gizzards as they love those as well. I will switch a meal of those instead of just chicken periodically when I can get them. I have to get them at Walmart and we all know their availability of things!
They will also eat green beans and peanuts. Never tried red pepper.
I’m going to try parts of your recipe, but my dogs are so used to their diet that they don’t take food change well. I will make a small batch and see how they do. Instant pots are great for making vegetables soft while maintaining their nutrients in the liquid.
Thanks for the video, it was soothing watching someone else do the prep work!
Will let you know if my dogs give it a 👍or 👎🏽
Yes, please let me know how they like it. Changing food can definitely be a struggle and some dogs can’t take to it too easily so I definitely get it. But I do understand the struggles of Walmart lol. Try and find a discount fresh food market. That is where I shop for the meat.
I've read that too many peanuts can cause weight gain and pancreatitis. I have mini schnauzers, which is a breed that is prone to pancreatitis, so peanuts would be a big no in my house. Hopefully, your dog is not prone to that.
Some lucky dogs thanks for sharing. I have been preparing fresh meals for 4months. The allergy meds stopped being effective and vet suggested a special expensive diet “made with real meat” I laughed and thought ok real meat I can make that and so here we are…She knows when I’m prepping her food too but she wants a slice of meat not veggie 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣 they definitely know when you’re cooking something for them lol. My dogs are the same lol. I think that’s awesome that you home cook your dogs food as well. It’s so much healthier!
Doing the veggie dishes over there!! 😂
Your dogs are cute lol What kind of dog is the grey dog? She looks alot like my yorkiepoo and she is also small and mighty. I will say that I put salmon oil in my dog's food too and she doesn't bite at her bottom as much as she used to. She just seems less itchy. Great video!
Thank you so much!! She is a Yorkipoo as well lol. At least that’s what we were told. She’s got the personality of a Rotti 🤣🤣. Salmon oil is great for dogs. That probably helped her itching and biting her butt. Thank you so much!!
I feed my dog similarly, but for all those veggies I use my food processor.
I started doing the same. I also blend them and put them in freezer molds
I love your recipe. Thanks for sharing. I have a 3-year-old baby and she always has allergies. How many meals am I supposed to give her ? She weighs 7 and a half pounds.
Same
Hi! This recipe looks amazing! I was looking at it for my husky. She’s been having allergies (hot spots) all over her body. My beautiful baby has patches missing now and it’s so horrible to see. So my one question I have is did you begin introducing certain meats one at a time? How would I go about trying to figure out if they have certain allergies to it? My husky is also very sensitive to carbs like rice but I feel like perhaps if I give brown rice maybe it will be ok. I’m having a hard time transitioning them because of these reasons. Is there any recommendations on how to convert them? Should I also be giving their “kibble” mixed in at first and transition them before fully converting to fresh cooked food? Thanks for the time and video. Going to definitely try this soon.
So, you want to gradually transition your husky from dry kibble to homemade food. You can do this over a course of a week and he should be ok. Because it is cooked and not raw it is easier for their stomachs to adjust to it. If you were gonna do raw you’d wanna do it over a course of a month. But for this just a week. So you can make the food then begin to transition.
Also, if he is sensitive to carbs, brow rice would be just as bad as plain white rice. I actually updated my dogs diet and completely took the rice out and they’re doing so much better than before
Thanks for the information. I did transition her and she’s doing incredible. Thanks so much for this recipe. She’s been doing great!
@@minaprincess3696 awww I’m so glad to hear that!!!
Would like the full recipe... I didn't see it showed in the video & couldn't find it in description. How many ounces of different veg's, each meat source & etc.. please share.. thx
I home cook for my 2 girls & they are doing so much better but would love your recipe to add to their diets also..
I will definitely be adding that in the description and will update as soon as it is in there. Thank you so much!! 🥰💞
@@TheLuvOfDogs Great... Thank you So Much... ❤️🤗❤️🤗❤️🤗
@@Sheryl1026 No problem! The recipe is in the description now 😊
Also I forgot to ask. After you stream the veggies in the instant pot do you throw in the other meats and organs ? How long do you pressure cook them before adding the rice and the ground Turkey? I missed that somehow.
After I steam the veggies I then put the rest of the ingredients I. And pressure cooked them for about 7 mins. You can go less than that. Now I pressure cook the meat for 2 minutes so it’s lightly cooked but still cooked through and I put everything else in raw including the organ meat.
Thank you!
I’m looking to switch to home cooked foods but I know my dog has allergies and I want to get that figured out before I start cooking and accidentally giving her something that makes her sick. She also has the yeast on the paws you mentioned and the ears. Did you get them tested or learned through trial and error?
I didn’t get them test I learned through the dog food they we’re eating. If your dog has allergies and yeast which can be tied together, if you’re going to start a home cooked meal, stay away from chicken and keep it grain free. So don’t add the white rice
@TheLuvOfDogs I've heard that if you're going to feed a dog rice, it should be wild rice. Your thoughts?
Dang u scrubbing that potato. Lol ain't no germs left onthat mug
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I like clean vegetables 🤣🤣🤣
I just did an allergy test for my dog and he’s just about allergic to everything. Rice, sweet & white potatoes, corn, barley, oats, etc. 🥲 I am going to try something like this minus his allergens. Just wondering what I can give him for some carbs to mix in with his veggies, meat, & healthy fats.
So, most dogs are allergic to carbs because it’s not naturally in their biological diet. I actually have to update this video because I removed the carbs because one of my dogs was having a rough time with them and she is in the process of switching to raw. But you don’t have to add carbs. Veggies are a good source of fiber for them
@@TheLuvOfDogs Oh wow, I didn’t even think of that but it definitely makes sense. Thank you so much! ❤️
No problem!!
Love your video. Thank you for the recipe can you tell me how much rice you used you left that out.
Thank you so much!
Sorry about that, I used 1cup of rice.
@@TheLuvOfDogs thank you very much!
What kind of pot are you using. What pot is best to cook your dogs meal that will cook the meals efficient and in a shorter amount of time.
An instant pot. I found the instant pot is the fastest for meal prep
My terrier have problems with ear infections because of food allergies. He shakes his head a lot. Can you recommend some food to feed him that won’t irritate his ears. He on an antibiotic now. Please
Any food with out grain. Preferably homemade
I’m getting two puppies this week and plan on cooking their food. Stupid question though. Do you give it to them cold or heated
I give it to them cold. Definitely not stupid! That’s a great question
How do you do that cooking for your dog and also cooking for your family too it’s like to eat in the same foods that we eat but with dog food as well so that makes sense how does that work? How much does that cost?
So when I cook the food I make it enough for a month to a month and a half and it cost me about $60 for everything. I go to a discount store for meats and veggies
I’ll also freeze what they don’t eat. I’ll pull out a bag that’s enough for a week
@@TheLuvOfDogshow many gallon sized bags does this make? That's not in the recipe in the description.
@@cherimccain12 my apologies. It makes 4 gallon size ziplock bags
I have a maltease with some food allergies and skin issues always licking his paws pulling hair out . Is this recipe ok for that .?
You can use this recipe but I would substitute the chicken for turkey and remove the rice
I have a 75 pound pitbull 4 years old…I want to cook for him…how much do you think I should give him of this recipe? If anyone knows please help ❤❤
At 75lbs you wanna give him 2.5-3lbs of food a day.
If you’re feeding 3lbs and it seems he is gaining too much weight, cut it back.
Is this recipe good for my two of my seniors. I have one about 11 to 12 years old, the other 9 to 10 years old, and my youngest, 7 to 8 years old. My youngest have severe allergies to the point where she scratches more than my other dogs. Her skin is so dry they feel like leather. And she have lost her hair. She's lacking some form of vitamins because she likes eating our of my cat litter. I'm concerned for her eating world's greatest cat litter made I guess out of corn. I try to keep her out. I even put her in a canal Sadly. Every time I have to leave home.
You can feed this recipe minus the grains and sweet potatoes.
I'm confused about the amount of supplements they receive. I thought that was the purpose of having cooked meals for the nutritional value they get from the food. Seems like an over kill. But your furbabies are aborable. 😊 Thanks for sharing.
The majority of the supplements were for my old man who had a bunch of health issues prior to home cooked meals. The supplements are almost non existent now. He just takes two, one for his heart and for his back.
Thank you so much 🥰🙏🏾
A little confused on you said they need raw meat but then cooked the meat
They do need raw meat but you can cook it if your dog doesn’t eat raw meat. Raw meat is best but at this moment I was cooking it. I didn’t want to go full raw just yet as I didn’t know how my dogs would feel but I have since updated this video with a newer video on my channel and my dogs are on a raw diet now. It is under the nutrition playlist on my channel
Feeding the dog only once a day 🤯🥺damn I feel bad for him/her at least twice a day 🤷♂️
Well, because of how I cook the food all the nutrients stay in the food so, they only need to eat once a day. I feed what they’re suppose to eat for they’re size and weight but they do get snacks during the day. They don’t just go all day without eating lol. But yes, if you’re cooking the food or feeding raw they only need to eat once a day.
I bet that gets expensive.
It’s actually pretty cheap. Most of the ingredients I have in my home. It’s definitely cheaper than the dry food I was feeding him. I go to a store in my neighborhood that has fresh meats and veggies for cheap
@BrittannyJo That's awesome. What was the thing you were cooking the food in? Sorry, I don't do a lot of cooking other than using the oven and stove lol. 🤣
@@len2489 looks like an Instapot.
@user-cl6tm6rt9u thank you so much, I appreciate it 🙏 💗
@@len2489 sorry I’m just seeing this. Yes it is an instant pot. It cooks the food very quickly
Why so much different stuff? Easier to boil veggies and rice with water, put in chopped raw meat, add some blueberry and fish oil, and thats it.
And the white dog, please drop the chicken, they the teaes wont be as red 😢
It has to be a balanced diet. Every ingredient provides different benefits to their balanced diet. My white dog doesn’t have a chicken allergy (only in dry food), she actually has seasonal allergies. But she’s since been put on a raw diet, one of the meats is chicken and her immune system is actually getting better. She still has seasonal allergies but they are getting better and there is no more paw licking lol. I appreciate the tips tho. ☺️
I’m going to try a version of this with brown rice since I have a husky and she needs carbs
So dogs in general don’t need carbs. That can actually create an over growth of yeast in your dogs body. Huskies especially don’t need carbs. Your dog will actually be a lot healthier without them
I’m glad you found the recipe helpful tho. I’ve actually updated this recipe and removed the carbs and my dogs are doing ten times better
@@TheLuvOfDogs thanks for your input. My husky is a high energy work dog so the carbs help her. She can run for 3 hours straight without taking a break. Carbs def help her.
@@bluekinopio9390 no problem. That’s good to know. I appreciate you filling me in
This is way way too much to be easy
