When my few months old kittens had diarrhea almost everyday for over a month I gave slippery elm bark and it did help somewhat, the chicken/rice/pumpkin didn’t help much. But it never completely stopped until I fed them a raw diet for the first time - it took literally ONE DAY. Diarrhea NEVER came back.
I tried reintroducing canned food but the diarrhea always came back. So I only fed raw. And when the new owner adopted them he continued to feed them commercial raw - no diarrhea and poops never smelled!
I tied this and worked! My 110lb dog has been diarrhea for week or bit longer. I got cod, Butternut squash, bone broth powder, plain kefir, also slippery elm I found at Vitamin shoppe. Next day He did solid poop! Was super yellow by squash tho. (Also, frozen rabbit meat I found at Asian market.) Thank you so much!
I do agree that pumpkin has high GI, but we also need to consider the carbs and sugar content in pumpkin which is very low compared to white rice. And pumpkin has low GL index. So, even diabetics can eat pumpkin with no issue. So, perhaps we need to reconsider our opinion here on it. What do you think, just my 2 cents on it. Thanks
Very interesting. Boiled chicken, pumpkin and brown rice has always been my go to when the dogs have diarrhea and usually works very fast. But I will try this recipe next time.
Thank you for another great video! I suggest anyone who is thinking of trying psyllium husks to premix with water (warm water if you want to speed up the process) and let it sit for 30 min or so to completely hydrate before adding to the food or it will clump up inside the digestive system. It soaks up amazing amount of moisture so be super careful!

I give her kefir in her breakfast and bone broth with her dinner. Stinky stools and flatulence are practically nonexistent. She doesn’t hate her litter box. She has way too much energy now. And she was in such bad shape with malnutrition when I got her at age 4, the rescue let me have her for the cost of a senior cat instead of an adult cat. But now she acts more like a kitten. I have a question. When you take your animals to the vet, do they tell you you shouldn't be feeding your pets a raw diet? I asked my vet about it, and they basically treated me like an idiot and the only information they gave me was grain free diets cause heart problems for dogs. I really really want to start feeding my dog and cat raw, though, because I want them to be the healthiest they can be. There's obviously debates about these diets, but from what I've seen, it makes alot more sense than feeding them kibble. So I guess I'm wondering how you went about telling your vet about it? It may just be my veterinarian but it's seems the general consensus amongst them is that feeding a raw diet is harmful.

Hi Mariah, Great informative video. In line with the topic of stomach upset, do you think it'd be a good idea to do a video on how to prevent pets from throwing up due to eating their foods too fast? Making it yourself is super easy, but I have gotten some from the store as well. As long as it's plain kefir with no added flavors, sugar, etc then it's fine to feed!

A Balanced Diet for Dogs Includes Grains Many people believe dogs are carnivores. In fact, dogs are omnivores, and even wolves in the wild derive nutrition from both plant and animal sources.

What can I do with a constipated kitty? I switched my new kitty to a raq diet and now she cNt poop. I've been giving her pumpkin but she still can't go. I pureed some Broccoli and made bone broth, mixed it in with her food but still no poop. Heelp
At this point you need to take her to the vet, its very dangerous if she can't poop.
Is any fish okay? Like tilapia? Also, is there a substitute for butternut squash? 😢
Is the fish given cooked or raw
You know, I was thinking it was a good idea to give Greek yogurt, black cherry for my dog for the probiotic but oh my God I swear anything my dog eats he literally has diarrhea. It’s so bad.
I just switched to raw food with chicken as protein for about two weeks ago and my cat is having a hard time digesting and some vomiting has occurred 😫 I wonder if chicken is not good. I bought some raw beef nuggets I was going to try that next but now that I see it's the number-one allergy maybe not?
This girl is perfect than the VET.she knows everything ??? WOW….

What kefir milk do you use? Do you make it yourself or buy it from the store? Can you give some store bought recommendations?
Making it yourself is super easy, but I have gotten some from the store as well. As long as it's plain kefir with no added flavors, sugar, etc then it's fine to feed!
We use Raw Farms goat kefir (buy at Sprouts when available) and Answers raw fermented goat milk (at specialty pet food stores). My dog goes crazy for it!
Walmart and Trader Joe’s have plain Kefir.
What about sweet potatoes because my dog will not eat pumpkin
I just adopted my husky she’s about 2 years old and she’s had diarrhea since before I adopted her and some supplements I bought helped but it just won’t go away completely I did feed her rice and chicken but it did not help I will try the foods on this I am also thinking of changing her food I have switched from pedigree to food science I think is called but a month later and her stool is better
Omg I needed this a month ago.
How are you suppose to cook the fish or rabbit?

What brand of kefir do you use?

How much amount do you feed for Matsu?
Someone help me, my dog has chronic stomach pain and I'm at a loss of what to feed him
Maybe add a probiotic to his diet? They have them in chewable form at the big pet stores.
@@republicanrule they have in powder form as well what we added to our Golden Retriever pup food he likes it!
Acid reflux very common and very upsetting for the dog won't walk or eat.
My dog is on chicken brown rice I want to know more about this I'm trying to get my dog a amen system
… I am actually tempted to try white fish/cod fish with the rest of your recipe next time my dog will have a stomach upset and vomiting as you cannot find a rabbit meat in a supermarket here in UK so my GSD would have to hunt for it himself I think .. 😂
Doctor recommended a similar diet for me when I had stomach issues. It made them worse.
Do i bake the butternut squash and fish?
Yes.
Oh yeah, let me run up to the local supermarket and grab some rabbit meat. This video blows!

Rabbit helped my dog recover from pancreatitis and the nausea. Luckily, I raise rabbits. She won't touch white rice. Now I have her on low fat dog food with rabbit and chicken to supplement.
