just subscribed. I do prefer a serious, professional, technical beauty blogger to someone who's all bubbly all the time, always hyperbolizing and messing about and raving about every single new product that comes out. I just like this woman's personality. she's actually an adult. how refreshing lol

  • @baileyjane19

It's so refreshing to see a woman so successful in the industry that isn't focused on this "glamazon", fake-looking trend that's happening right now. Obviously that suits some people and it can definitely look beautiful, but the fact that you focus a lot on more subtle and natural looks that are still stunning is something I really appreciate. Also, I can't wait to get my hands on your book! Much love.

Bailey Gordon I think its mainly the women that are actual professional makeup artists, that don't do this insane Instagram look. pixiwoo also come to mind...

    • @induguzman5518

Many of those other artists arent professionally trained. Just wannabes. A talented mua can do many looks on all people. If someone does only one look, they aren't talented imho. Other teenyboppers on social media are also full of drama, bad behavior and issues.
This is the best advice i heard as a bespectacled woman.

Only after watching her videos can I truly appreciate what a difference real professional experience makes when it comes to makeup advice.
I've watched so many other 'makeup for glasses' tutorials and they usually just do one look, without taking into consideration things like near/ farsightedness and what the different lenses can do to your eye

If you have trouble with your glasses sliding down your nose, there is a product called 'nerdwax' which is basically a wax stick that is safe to use on skin... and you apply it to the nose pads of your glasses and it works quite well to keep them in place... it just gives them a bit of friction to fight the slip... it doesn't wreck your foundation in my experience and you dont even feel it on your skin

You have changed my life with this video, thank you sooooo much! I am short sighted and have small eyes anyway, my glasses make this worse. I have always piled on the black eyeliner and dark eyeshadow in the belief that this makes eyes look bigger, but this morning I tried it this way instead with light eyeshadow etc.
    Unbelievable! Mind. Blown.
    Thank you 😄❤❤❤

Thank you, Lisa! I forgot to mention the two problems I encounter with melasma:
      1. How to cover so it doesn't look cakey or ashy. 2. Since I have it on my cheekbones I notice that highlighting seems to make it worse even if I conceal it first. Is there a way to highlight to avoid this other than matte highlighters?

I'm always in awe when I watch you perform/explain your "magic" because you have a way to explain things that is truly fantastic! I watch lots of tutorials on YT but yours are always the more informative and relaxing ones. I've been a subscriber for many years now and I always learn something interesting and/or new from you. Some people are very judgemental about makeup but I can truly say that your talent and your videos have helped me get through tough times - I'm a cancer survivor. Makeup and skincare - along with my dear family and close friends of course - did help me to regain that part of feminity wich was somewhat denied after all the chemos and surgeries I had. Thank you very much, Lisa! xx

Thank you Liza for this video! I have worn glasses since I was a little girl and it's hard to accept the truth when your learning about makeup that a lot of looks don't work on glasses wearers. I think it's human nature to want to feel pretty like everyone else but the most important thing is to find what works for you and own it!

I know a lot of people struggle with this so I thought it would be a helpful tip, being an optician and a mascara lover...if you find even with curling your lashes they are still touching the frame, often times that can mean you need to have your glasses adjusted. Go to your nearest glasses shop with your makeup applied how you normally wear it on a daily bases and let the optician know what kind of adjustment you're looking for. It's one of the simplest adjustments we can do :) And Lisa you're right, it's all about personality when it comes to wearing makeup with glasses, there's no one look. For me I wear darker frames and have paler skin, so I can get away with wearing more vivid blusher...but then again that's just me, some people try to be minimalist. I personally love a more bold look. Do what you feel is most comfortable :D

Hi Cassie, do you have any tips for astigmatic people? I'm astigmatic and have a lazier left eye which often gets dry and aches, I find anything more than a bit of eyeliner and BB cream weighs on my eyes and makes them dry. I've almost given up trying different products as they all seem to have the same effect. I also have super long eye lashes so mascara is always a nono for me. I also have trouble getting stuff to match as my eyes are actually slightly different shapes, one is longer and the other wider. Thanks!! x

Hi, Lisa. This is my 2nd time watching this video. As someone who's been wearing the glasses all my life (and after watching many videos on how to apply makeup for glasses), I have to say that your video is the most professional and considerate for people who wear glasses. It's now just another look but with glasses, you've actually taken into consideration the needs of the people who wear glasses (e.g. longsighted/shortsighted, types of skin, etc.) and all your obvious points, which you mention throughout the video, are to the point and important. These points is what missing from other videos. Anyhow, enough with my ramble. Thank you very much again for what you do and your consideration.

I've worn glasses for years now and seen a lot of tutorials along this line, out of all the videos I've seen this is definitely the most helpful and there is tips that you can pick out of it but I think there isn't an exact way to wear your make up with glasses, what was said at the end of the video I think was the most important; I've recently learnt to not worry about wearing make up to fit my glasses but more to my face, style and personality and your glasses are just an accessory to add to that

Very useful tips,Lisa! I particularly liked the way you explained both sides. Very educational all around, now maybe I won't get so many dents in the foundation on my nose, Thank you! This is the first time that I've really seen the way darker colors can close up an eye vs lighter colors opening it up. It makes sense when you hear it, but there's nothing clearer than a demonstration... I wish I could put stuff on my waterline (inner rim? What is it called?) without my eyes watering so much that it just washes away, so I could play around with dark and light eyeliners but, sadly, it doesn't seem to be possible for me....

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! THANK YOU, Lisa, for this video! I've worn glasses for years and have asked numerous makeup artists if there's any difference between "normal" makeup, if you will, and makeup for those who wear glasses. Not one of them, until you, have been able to give me a definitive answer. I've asked for a makeup for glasses tutorial from numerous YT MUA's as well. Until you, Lisa, the requests have all fallen on deaf ears. I cannot thank you enough for your time and effort with this video. One of the issues I see is similar to what you said about brows.. taking the frame shape and where it fits on your face into consideration. A large cat eye liner, intricate cut crease, etc. can look really strange when cut off or partially hidden by the frames. If you are wearing a smoky eye but the frames cover your browbone it can look like you have dark shadow all over.
Since your actual eyes are really the focus simple looks using colors that bring out your eye color usually look best. You can always punch up your look with a stronger lip. Frames in those colors really help as well, taking into consideration your skin tone.. for example I have warm skin and green eyes so a copper frame is very flattering to my eye color.

Thank you so much Lisa ! I’ve watched so many tutorials for glasses but my eyes still seemed so small and as if there was no make up at all - so you really explained why and how to change that! Thank you 🥰

Good tutorial, thanks! I wear glasses all day every day, and I find that Laura Gellar's baked foundation, brushed on, works beautifully for me. I use her Spackle Primer, then the foundation which is sheer and creamy and natural, and after blush, etc., I spritz on her setting spray. Works perfectly for me!

Thanks for this, I wear glasses pretty much all the time. Although, I never really thought that there was a need for "glasses makeup". I can see now how these techniques would make a huge difference though. Awesome :)

Don't far sighted people generally only wear reading glasses?? I'm curious bc I've spent my whole life being near sighted and having to wear glasses every waking moment to see anything more than 6 inches from my face :(

      Jane Doe No

+Jane Doe I was prescribed reading glasses at a very young age (around 7/8 years old). Then, around the age of 13/14, I was told to wear them full time. So I am one of these few that is farsighted that wears glasses (contacts) all day, every day.
EDIT: I have never met anyone like me!
