Even with the most "natural" colors, it still looks like they have a mask on. Some people can pull it off, others can't, but it's generally not my cup of tea. This is still in the "Western" style, but actually wearable and easy to look at.
I agree completely. And I am American living in the UK and I just love beautiful, simple, feature-enhancing makeup rather than the mask-like makeup taken from drag makeup techniques. That's why I love Lisa, she is actually the real expert!

Have you heard of ASMR? if you look it up on UA-cam you'll find tons of videos where people use relaxing sounds that cause "triggers". Basically subtle sounds that make people relax:) no your not crazy! Lol I love the sounds of her rings and her voice is so relaxing :)

I have a very weird suggestion. Maybe someday you can give tips on how to feel more comfortable wearing make up. I'm an engineering student and I'm surrounded by men mostly, and industrial places or just the library, not like an office or going out. I enjoy make up a lot but I feel sometimes out of place. No one around me wears any, so I feel like neither should I. But I like it. Any ideas?
+America Castro I'm in the exact same boat as you. The thing is, a lot of guys usually don't notice if you're wearing makeup unless you're wearing bright colors, have a cakey base, etc. So I'd suggest starting small - maybe a natural eyeliner and a neutral lip gloss. Eventually, you'll feel more comfortable and maybe you'll even reach out for eyeshadows or lipsticks. The key is to keep the colors (mostly) natural and to apply everything with a light hand. I usually rock a basic look with eyeliner and an enhancing lipstick or gloss. Even if you're just going to the library, who cares? Wear whatever you like haha. Hope this helps!
Kinda late, but if still applicable it's more of a mindset than anything else. I live in a place where most people dont wear much makeup in general but I like it, it puts me into work mode when I have it on so I just go ahead and wear what i want when I want and try not to think about what other people are doing. Yes, Ladies -Lisa rocks. Here's my VERY personal, but effective tip for lipcolor( we're women, all here, on this site, because of make up + wanting to look good !). I base my lipstick and lip liner on the pink brown shade of my aureola/ nipples, nailbeds, and 'petals' private parts. It works, it's a very individual shade.

I've just found you and you're beautiful, I love how many of your videos teach how to enhance in a way, that type of makeup is kind of hard to find in a world with lots of drag inspired makeup (not necessarily a bad thing, just not what I'm looking for). I'm 13 and I'm getting into makeup but funny enough I've been watching videos from the early to mid 1900's because they have nice and undramatic looks, it's refreshing to find someone from this era who has all the makeup we can use because I can learn to use things that are available now, thank you so much for your beautiful make up looks.

Hi Lisa, I am sure that many people must have said it before and it is nothing new, but THANK YOU. You are the most amazing makeup artist on YT. I am 45 and have started getting more interested in makeup. I have acne scarring and pores. To hide them I would use more foundation or CC creams and tried to follow the Beauty gurus who put those stripes of bronzers, highlighters and wondered why it looked bad. Last two days I have been watching your videos and I tried doing it your way, with very less CC cream, only here needed, some concealers, very light handed bronzer and cream blush with lot of blending. And it is the first time I loved my made up face. I always thought maybe I need a better foundation or bronzer. It is all in the technique. I can't thank you enough. gorgeous look! i like it especially because you can easily do it on more mature ladies when they want an eyeliner look without making it look too strong or 'too much makeup'. you can do it on younger ladies when they want 'soft glam' for an evening out or you can simply change the lipstick color for bright red or magenta to make focus on the lips but still keeping it simple. gorgeous look! i like it especially because you can easily do it on more mature ladies when they want an eyeliner look without making it look too strong or 'too much makeup'. you can do it on younger ladies when they want 'soft glam' for an evening out or you can simply change the lipstick color for bright red or magenta to make focus on the lips but still keeping it simple.
