did you know in too deep is also a 12'' picture disc
That Spot The Pigeon on blue vinyl is super cool! Would love to have that.
Very pretty!
Hi, this is Alan getting back with you. As for Genesis The Way We Walk Live Vol 1 The Shorts it's a Brazilian import and Vol 2 The Longs is a Italy import. Now, as I had mentioned, these 2 live recordings, at the time of their release, they were only released on CD and cassette for vinyl records, had disappeared from retail stores that sold records. So, I would be darn surprised if these 2 live recordings were released on vinyl in the US. Take care, Alan
Yah it’s very rare to come across them. I’m in Canada, and I have never seen it, only through discogs.
Originally, the vinyl version of Spot The Pigeon EP was not released in the U.S. It was released in Canada on blue vinyl and then quickly imported into the U.S. However, it was rereleased again on blue vinyl for RSD in 2012. Another thing about that Tonight Tonight Tonight 7' single is that it was released with two different picture sleeves. The one you have in red and then the black and white 12" in version was also released as a 7 inch. They have the exact same catalog number.
Great to know! I’ve never come across that RSD version! Very interesting!
You went straight past "I know there's something going on" by Frida (abba) basically a secret solo Phil Collins album with Frida as lead singer, produced by Phil and played by his band
Damnit. Shoulda grabbed that.
The black Canadian vinyl of spot the pidgeon is rarer than the blue, but still cool!
Interesting!
Hi, my name is Alan. I'm a big Genesis/Phil Collins fan. I would have bought Foxtrot, and The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway. I'm 61 years old, and I grew up during the Peter Gabriel Era. I'm still a Genesis fan even after Phil Collins became the lead singer. Phil didn't ruin Genesis at all. The style of music that the band has played changed, but it's great that Phil Collins would sing the old songs during tours. Phil is my favorite drummer--he's an amazing drummer. I have been to some Genesis concerts, and Phil Collins solo concerts. I have all of the Genesis full length albums on the UK Pressings and Japanese imports. I also have Genesis full length album Abacab, a Bulgaria import, and it's out of print, a very clean copy. I also have on vinyl, The Way We Walk Live--both Volumes 1 and 2, very clean pressings. These 2 records, are imports. I honestly, am not a 7 inch singles fan, or the 12 inch singles. I much prefer the full length 33 1/3 records. I also had the privilege of meeting the entire band Genesis, during the Invisible Touch Tour. They are really cool guys! Take care, Alan.
Amazing Alan! Thanks for sharing! I would love to find “The Longs” on vinyl, I only have “The Shorts”
The Keep it Dark single - that's the one I would have grabbed. I noticed it said Abacab (long version). If it's a longer than the album cut, that would be very cool.
Just the album version I’m most certain.
@@EverythingPhilCollins I figured,; hoping against hope that it went beyond the album's fadeout.
Original pressings of 'ABACAB' on vinyl are quite collectable because there were four different colour designs available. In later pressings, I think they standardised it to just one of the four motifs, which was then carried through to the CD and other formats.
👍
I picked up a copy of Three Sides Live at a shop in Boston that has the promotional 4th disc with Paperlate, You Might Recall, Me and Virgil, Evidence of Autumn, and Open Door. Not the best shape, but I had never seen a copy of it before, so I snagged it.
Interesting!!
The thing that would be incredible for you to own would be the PC CD at La Chat in 2008 in Genève. Around 200 CDs were sold for the LDF charity in Switzerland. I have a friend who owns several, but prices can be very high! like around 300$ and I was present at this live show which is one of my favorite live shows I've ever seen of Phil :)
Come to think of it that place didn’t have any CDs at all.
I went to an antique mall last weekend. Not too much music at the one I went to, but I did find a few good scores, including one Phil Collins bootleg cassette! It was an Indonesian bootleg of the audio from the No Ticket Required concert film. It was on a plain recordable cassette, but it did have a uniquely printed cover, on a bootleg record label, with their own custom insert. And it only cost me a buck!
Damn!! Lucky! I would trade all my finds for that! :). Nice one!
@@EverythingPhilCollins I thought of you as soon as I saw it! 😄
If I were to grab a non Phil/Genesis item from that store as an Aussie I would have loved the cassette of Men At Work Business As Usual
Awesome!!
So you know - here in Canada, where I am as well as the presenter, music from Austrailia and New Zealand always hit here hard in the 80s.
Men At Work were huge up here a year before the US and the UK.
Split Enz was only popular in Aus, NZ and Canada. They had no hits in thr US or the UK. Even Crowded House has a massive career up here, where they are a 2 hit wonder in the US.
Midnight Oil had a few hits up here too, where they were a one hit wonder in the US.
And John Farnham is also a one hit wonder up here with "You're The Voice", which is one more hit than he had in the US.
Hiya scott your mate George from Australia here, two hearts is a golden piece with the post cards, very hard to get now,but one item you should look for is an extremely rare official VHS video is the making of buster,it's HUGE collectable 🙋
Oh my, really??? My mom worked at a video store growing up, and the owners just gave it to me. I think it's still in my basement
Interesting!!!!
Hi Chris nice to meet you,I'm a huge Phi and with Genesis collector too,but not with Gabriel,I'll post photos of the making of buster VHS soon.
Now there’s some awesome finds!Funny enough I bought that exact tonight, tonight, tonight 45 single with the same cover at an antique mall in a seller booth all the way down here in south Florida. Love the vinyl hunting vids Scott!!
KID single... Great B-sides !
Totally!!
That copy of Two Hearts is awesome! Those postcards have got to be a little over 30 years old by now…it always great to own a piece of history :)
So amazing!
I took a look at my copy of Spot The Pigeon that ive had for years which i could have sworn was on black vinyl... But nope, it was blue as well. Totally must have been a Canadian thing.
The only thing I would have grabbed would have been the Keep It Dark and Two Hearts 12" singles. Especially that they were UK pressings. I always snag out of country pressings. My copy of Trick Of The Tail vinyl is Australian
Yah imports are pretty cool!
Hey,i think that keep it dark single is excelent
So good!
@@EverythingPhilCollins did you know that Phil Collins has a new album out on the 16th of June? it's called Phil Collins at the tower, taken from his first solo world tour the hello I must be going tour, type in phil collins at the tower in google, comes out on the 16 june on double vinyl
I caught a glimpse of a b-side in the video. I had completely forgotten about the song The Man With The Horn. Lovely music. I guess it's the lyrics that keeps it hidden and forgotten. Musically it sounds as good as any general hit songs.
Genesis and Collins should release a very worst of compilation because I'm sure their worst will have many fans. I love a lot of songs that are considered bad by both artists and fans in general. But really you can make any kind of music and there will always be someone who will love it.
I’m personally not a fan of that tune. But I’ll have to give it another listen!!
My thing about Spot the Pigeon is that I’d rather listen to 3x3 because it’s a better EP
True!
Do you own the vinyl of Foxtrot and Nursery Cryme combined??
I don’t! But I’ve seen it around a few times. I think it’s in my previous record shopping video. I’ll grab it one day if it’s not too overpriced.
Your videos baffle me with your odd takes. Can’t believe Phil went back to the “Motown sound” after all the “evolution” in his sound? Yes, it was after Separate Lives and Easy Lover. The movie was set in the ‘60s. Groovy Kind Of Love was a song from that era, and Two Hearts and Loco In Acapulco were co-written with none other than Lamont Dozier. Does that clear it up a little bit? 🙄
Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching!
