Props on the outsiders record. I found their first release in a dollar bin in New Orleans, I spin that puppy all the time!
This is my second copy of their second album...still haven't found the first!
Hi Tuco!! it was a very good thrift experience after all, you have grabbed a lot of cool records in pretty good condition too and the last stop at the state sale was very succesful, loved the lamp and vintage boardgames!!!! cheers and be well
Yeah that estate sale was a lot of fun! I love when they have vintage stuff like that!
Wow them board games, the artwork is so cool, great stuff.
And great to hear you like The Young Ones, according to Rick, Cliff invented rock n roll and Elvis stole all his moves and ideas🤣🤣
Haha!!! Yeah, i love The Young Ones!!!
Dude believe it or not I have that Arthur Fiedler SNF knock off! I bought it strictly for the cover! Dude those purple curtains are slamming and that chrome stand up lamp is outstanding! Those aren’t cheap! Those 45’s in the original sleeves are really cool too! Some pretty great finds TUCO! Peace ☮️✌️👽🤘☮️
Yeah! I'm a sucker for that velvet!!! I've got tons of velvet bedspreads and some curtains! Purple, red, green, blue, gold... When i buy a house, it will be pimpin'!!!
I feel like we are closing in on the big Council Bluffs dig. Can't wait for that show.
It's one or two videos away!!!
This is how one becomes a hoarder.
Guilty as charged! 🤣
That bodyshop was wicked
That place is whack!!!
An hour later I’m still cracking up…if I roll down the windows it will sound like a dog pound outside!
🤣😂🤣🤣 They must have had some serious hail there!
Tuco you have the best intros in the VC and your off-beat eclectic tastes in music is hella refreshing.
🤣😂🤣😂 ...some of the stuff i show, I'm surprised there are other people that enjoy it too! Thank you!!!
So funny.. the thrift store chatter ! That's my world baby !! Hehe.💥 Godfrey Cambridge Live At The Aladdin Las Vegas is cool ! ( Love my Vegas records ). Outsider#2 is a good one ! That "Little Latin Lupi Lu" LP is awesome ! Lately I'm into Jay & The Techniques "Apples , Peaches, Pumpkin Pie" from 1967 a minor Soul/ Pop hit.. picked the full length in the shrink for 2.00 ! Another killer vid Tuco ! Merry Christmas Bro ! ✌
@13:29 Gerry Muligan would have been a great grab. It’s about a $50 record (depending on pressing of course) Love me some Gerry!
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Yeah, he slipped under my radar! I was unfamiliar with him. Jazz is one of my weak points.
48:49 I'm a big Bee Gees fan too and that Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops LP, 'Saturday Night Fiedler' cracks me up with its images parodying the 'Saturday Night Fever' double-LP. I have a number of his classical music LP's and some RCA Living Stereo CD's including a record featuring him conducting Prokofiev's 'Peter and the Wolf' with Sir Alec Guinness narrating (Yes, Obi-Wan Kenobi himself). :)
I don't have any Alec Guiness in my collection yet. It looks like he's on a number of things!
I thought I was the only one turning the records right side up because it was aggravating me. I also would have put the empty crate in back of the full one to place the broken 78's and craptastic LP's in the back.
I should get paid for cleaning up their store! 🤣😂🤣
Nice scores! I don't have that Hugh Masekela, but I have some of his others and they're always great to pick up.
If you can get back to that first stop, it's worth picking up that Donna Loren Beach Blanket Bingo album. It's pretty collectible ($20+ in good shape).
And you almost gave me a heart attach when you casually flipped past "Screaming Joy Hawkins" before I realized you were joking. hahaha
Three people told me i should have grabbed the Donna Loren! I think that's the most that's happened on my channel! I was not familiar with her. I just learned she was on an episode of Batman!!!
Screamin Jay on 78 is my holiest of holy grails!
@@VinylHunter Same!
Another great video !Love the 45s the close ups & The young ones shout out! Huge fan of the Young ones! Cheers!
Thank you!!! Yes, love the Young Ones!!!
Another great music haul, Tuco! :)
Thank you!
Ya got me good on that Screaming' Jay Hawkins 78 comment. I actually rewound and paused play a couple times in an attempt to read the title. Then I saw you were just kidding. Good job!
I ran into that King Richard Mrs. Robinson album at the Salvation Army a couple weeks ago. It was senior discount day, so I picked it up really cheap. Haven't played it yet, but based on your comments, I'll give it a spin.
Screamin Jay on 78 is my holiest of holy grails! It's one I've got to "find"...buying it online doesn't count!
Glad you got the Modern Sound label albums at the first stop for 25 cents..these, like the labels Tops, Crown and other budget lines of the 50s and 60s, are usually considered pure junk by most collectors, but some of the pop and Rock ‘n Roll covers can sometimes venture into absolute hilarity. Picture some of the classic TV show characters being asked to sing them. I’m one of the fans of these strange pieces!
Yeah i thought some of the songs were pretty fun!
Hey Tuco, great video. that Donna Loren album you passed up at the first shop is cool sixties garage pop .
I was unfamiliar with her. I just looked her up though...she was in Beach Blanket Bingo. And, more importantly, she was on an episode of Batman!!! 🦇
Great video my friend it looks like you had a good time
Thanks Rod! I think to be successful at thrifting for records, you have to love to do it! Most people get discouraged because they don't find anything. I enjoy it whether I find anything or not! It's the thrill of the hunt!
@@VinylHunter I don't know if it's just me but it seems like whenever I find the good albums is when I'm not looking for them... And I don't have the cash to pay for them..lol
Oh man! That's how it works! That's how my memory works too...i can't remember something when i need to, but then two days later I'll remember!
Reba is a must. 25 cents. Lionel Hampton too
The only reason i didn't get Hampton was because I've got several already.
I did sell a 45 rpm for $50 last year by Malcolm McLaren and it was scuffed so watch for that one in the 1980's piles.
Nice! I'll keep my eyes open for it!
Those women in the background sound like a bunch of cackling chic🐔😄
🤣😂🤣😂 I experience that a lot at thrift stores!
Where can you thrift at 7:30 early Sunday morning but with you?! ...Oops, you already goofed - you pulled a meh common Reba LP but then @3:33 you missed the great Donna Loren "Beach Blanket Bingo" soundtrack LP from 1965 worth $$$! I would have definitely snatched that one if it was in decent condition. ...Of course the Outsiders LP was a nice find as was the cool exploito comp LP on HiT/MS Records! ...Well, other than that not many other interesting records to see or comment on this time (except for that Donna Loren LP you passed up!) and also the decent 45s you picked up. Oh well, maybe you'll have a more fruitful record haul (in my mind!) next Sunday. Watching you go through all those horrific 78s and also all that vinyl crap at the "estate" sale was brutal though - lol!
Ha, I just left a similar comment about the Donna Loren album before I saw your comment. Definitely worth a trip back to snag that one!
Three people mentioned that Donna Loren lp! I was unfamiliar with her. I just learned she was in an episode of Batman!
I don't know of there's any interest in Reba?...but i just got it to sell it.
@@VinylHunter I wonder if it will be there next time you go back. Or what condition it was in... @25 cents I'd buy a beat copy!
It's scary that I'm starting to recognize the stores you are diggin' in!
Ha! Yep, you've got to go back to the same places over and over again! It greatly increases your odds of being at the right place at the right time. Plus I'm limited to the places i drive by for work.
"That's the band I just learned about from stranger things" 😬😬
😂😂😂
I'll never understand how records can end up without a sleeve at all especially that many of them!
...and WHY do stores put them out like that???
Conspiracy: It's the vinyl bandit from the city wides striking thrift stores buying the album jackets, just like that lady said someone was trying to do in the big red Jazz Barn episode!
It's sad to see those really old ones toasted like they are!
Yeah those were in really bad shape!
Since you are a Bee Gee's fan do you have a copy of Kenny Rogers Eyes that see in the dark if not you may want to look out for it every song on the album was written by the Gibb Brothers
I didn't know about it! I'll have to keep my eyes out for it! All i knew was Islands In The Stream
@@VinylHunter Which is on that album
38:54 A WILD AND WOOLY WORKOUT! (This album comes with a 17 x 37" poster of exercises.)
I shoulda got it just for the poster!!!
35:50 I see Tuco didn’t want to get his GPX on….
Ha! I'm definitely not interested in low budget all-in-one units! 🤣😂🤣
@@VinylHunter Even though I will admit that I have a weird place in my heart for somewhat cheap electronics, I don’t blame you at all!
muddle of pudd lol
You'll be calling them that too now! 🤣😂🤣😂
When do we get a new video it's been a while
