“This is a game for people without families”
Me with my three little boys watching me, cheering me on. “Dad, is that the final boss!?” on every single mob because every enemy is fucking epic. My boys had a blast watching me.
Sounds like what someone without a family would say, why would that comment stand out to you otherwise.
You sit on a throne of lies, and whatever kids you're hearing are the voices in your head.
@@EK-xs7fe "you sit on a throne of lies" fuckin dweeb
My cousin and my uncle was cheering me on too it's the best feeling on the game😂😍
I had so much fun watching you dad, you are awesome!

They should add an Easy mode, but its actually easier for the enemies to kill you
Lol its hardcore mode. Easier to quit for the people who ask for it
If they did that, made a harder mode but called it easy mode, that be the most "dark souls" thing of all
There's already an easy mode, it's called kill the dragon for 100k runes, afk in limgrave, summon 2 bleed builds to cheese Margit and Godrick, and never leave the bird farm. It won't get any more difficult unless you want the gold scarab, cuz that boss is no joke.
I’m sure miyazaki would make it an achievement to beat it on “easy mode”
Easy mode should be everything dies in one hit, but so do you. No amount of vigor will help.
“A game that is not made for everyone is not a game that should be made” basically translates to “a game that is not made for me is not a game that should be made”
The part that gets me, like REALLY gets me, it's a God dam souls game. They have NEVER been "easy" and I never really saw people really complain.
I've met people who have said stuff like "oh I'm not a fan, those games are hard so I just never got into it"
But some of the people complaining about this game is crap.
It's so well crafted, it really is and if you're an old school souls fan, it's amazing how far it's come. The AI has mostly gotten better, the movement mechanics, the jumping (oh thank God for the jumping) compared to the older games is SO NICE.
My only complaint about this game is its frame capped for consoles, like I get it, but it's my only complaint.
And idk I've never really seen people care so much about "a game not made for everyone"
Most games aren't for everyone, and that's been true for a long time.
Sorry I get a little ranty
@@NotTheHeroStudios oh that easy mode complaint happens with basically every fromsoft game. It happened with ds3, bloodborne, sekiro, and now Elden Ring
I hate shooters and sports games, so those shouldn't be made because of meeee. What even...
@@NotTheHeroStudios Yeah definitely agree, but it’s also the biggest souls game ever, and I’m sure all these people complaining hear how much other players love it so they’re upset about not being able to play it/enjoy it. I read this originally as pissed himself and cried. I find both versions applicable.
He talks about pitfalls in these games. A friend of mine went straight into the Catacombs in Dark souls 1. Made it to a bonfire down there without leveling up at all. They never made it back out. After 5 hours they had to restart and went a different way. It became their favourite game until Bloodborne. Good times.
The scythe is down there so I always run down there myself.
I did the exact same thing when ds1 was released.
I believe we all have done this before yes
I did the same, but with Ash Lake and that gave me enough of an aneurysm as is. I can't imagine the catacombs.
I totally would've skipped the tutorial in Elden Ring if someone didn't tell me it's there, jumping into a dark pit near a creepy old guy didn't seem like a good idea
I am 110% of the opinion the first boss on the horse is a deliberate troll to ragebait new players to the franchise. Even though you killed it first time Asmon, I was like "nope...you don't fool me game" and came back to get him WAY later.

After selling more copies than their previous games the devs put out a big thank you to all the fans and then the studio gave everyone who worked on the game a big bonus.....doesn't get more toxic than that!
Has nothing to do with anything. It sold more copies because it was overhyped compared to other soulsborne games. Literally everything wrong with ds2 is wrong with elden ring. Any1 who thinks its a 10/10 or even a 9/10 is just a simpy fangirl

To be fair about gran tourismo 7, what actually happened is the reviewers reviewed a version of the game, found it enjoyable, and then Sony and polyphony changed the game monetization after launch. So essentially both sets of reviews are accurate. The game was changed via updates that made it worse post release. Real shady stuff.
Thats so scummy wtf

I think it's always important to distinguish "graphics" and "artstyle"
I think graphics feeds the art style. They couldn't afford to make botw look super amazing so they based the art style around it and made it work. Even really cool artstyle can be overshadowed by really bad/dated graphics. Obviously many can look past it but may can't.
The thing is that elden rings graphics really aren't bad at all in my opinion. A lot of things are very detailed, the world feels alive and i always have this sense of awe when i play it.
I personally just think that not every game has to look super realistic for it to have "good" graphics.
Yeah lol. Just like a short hike, or valheim. "Shitty" graphics, absolutely 10/10 beautiful games for me tho
But if graphics fit the artstyle its good graphics for me
I played Elden ring, never played dark souls after beating ER and beating NG+ I started to play dark souls, and later dark souls 3 since it the latest DS, the artstyle is jaw dropping for me ,I enjoyed the story and lore of it all, it brought me back as a kid playing half life and half life 2, the game is just an amazing experiance I wish now for more games like these to exist.

He can’t get gud so he complains im playing retrying elden ring again simply to shut mfs like him up cos all they do is complain how hard a game is without actually trying makes it seem like all the games they play are for children 😂
I think you meant hard games instead of bad games
Although it can seem a bit toxic at times, the rallying cry of git gud isn't just something Souls veterans tell new playsers, it's also what we tell our selves after dying to the same boss over a dozen times. It's a reminder that although these games are challenging, persevering and learning to overcome those difficulties through your own skill, is why we play these games. For the new dlc of Elden Ring I believe I said it to myself at least 2 dozen times and that was before getting to the last boss. And for me personally it helps keep my head clear and not get upset when I die. I learn from it and eventually I do in the end Git Gud. And I think mostly everyone is capable of that.
I too got to "the guy with the mask," and attacked him. He killed me. Then I respawned and he was already attacking me again. He killed me. Then I respawned (several times actually) and fought him several times until I KILLED HIM. I celebrated, walked down the hill a little, saw the first tree sentinel, and began the process over again.
I also attacked the mask guy, not because I didn't know he was safe, but because he was rude to me so fuck him.

I bought Elden Ring first day it released. Had never played a FromSoft game before. After a couple hours I returned it because I was too stubborn to look up anything about it or try getting better. I felt pretty similar to the people who “reviewed” the game in this video. After a week or so I bought the game back and did it right this time. Took the time to watch tutorials and actually LEARN the game. Now I’ve beaten it multiple times, and it is one of my favorite games ever. I’m so glad I didn’t give up on this game.
Now that's how a gamer is supposed to act like "gamer". Patience is key, it's just like learning a new sport. You can't say you're a sporty guy if the only sport you know or stick to is just one type of sport at least hobby wise, those who are with profession is understandable if they only know one or two sports in their whole lifetime since it's their profession.
But me as a gamer, it's just merely a hobby, not a profession unless I decide to make money out of it. So it's natural for me to try all different kinds of games to the best of my interests to see if it really fits my style. Tho not all games are good to begin so gamers have a hard times picking games to play so usually they stick their usuals.
But here, Elden Ring is that kind of game that has indeed a large learning curve being a souls game, but proved to be beginner friendly and new to the franchise players friendly. So those other people that tag themselves as "gamer" but only has the mentality to just write reviews by only watching YT clips without having even the slightest patience of playing the actual game are just the bandwagon type people.
Want to try a new game to add to your gaming collection as a pure gamer but game is hard? There are lots of guides and tutorials out there that can help, there's the even in-game tutorial if you're paying close attention. Bu if people don't even bother with that, then they can't be truly called a "gamer" in that sense. They just simply play it. Play and forget. A true gamer always comes back.
As a wise man once said :
"Rise from your grave, never give up."

Had a similar experience with Dark Souls, carrying that knowledge and going into Elden Ring mostly blind has been an amazing experience.

I had never played a souls game before Elden Ring, I didn’t look up any guides and just kinda ran around accidentally progressing the story until I beat it. Nothing but a good time, even when margit took me 3 different days of trying to beat, I was purely excited the whole time to just try it, I didn’t care that I died over 100 times to him, the gameplay was SO fun that I didn’t care. 10/10
the whole premise of the series is that the game doesn't end when you die, you aren't re-loading saves and there is potentially net zero loss it's like the oxymoron of gaming. Also, it makes every death or attempt at a boss a unique experience and the difficulty makes it more visceral and rewarding than most other games. I have thoroughly enjoyed them all except Sekiro because there was no pvp, I may eventually play it but for me pvp is where it's at. Cheers!
Grinding's always acceptable if you enjoy the combat mechanics, imo
I would also like to add that after I get all the achievements for Elden Ring, I’ll happily be buying past souls games and experiencing them for the first time as well!
As someone who’s been playing this series since dark souls 1, I always enjoy hearing a new player picking up one of the games and getting immersed in it. It can be a real pain and clunky at first but once it clicks, it feels great
Same here, first time playing a Soulsborne game. For NG+ my goal was to beat Radagon/Elden Beast with a tank build. Killed Radagon with a rapier and tower shield, blocking most attacks and countering when able to. It was the equivalent to playing Street Fighter 2 doing only low kicks, dealing low chip damage. Radagon killed me a lot of times, but when I finally started seeing the patterns it felt great! I had a blast with that fight. Still trying to understand Elden Beast tho.
"You're not going to reason someone out of a position that they didn't reason themselves into." That is a freaking golden piece of advice right there.
I never played any Dark Souls game. I roamed the world, leveled up, learned how to play (timing, dodging, etc), then finally went through the story and fought bosses. It's amazing and I already finished the DLC. The criticisms are crazy lol
There’s a distinct difference between “Hey, Elden Ring’s UI is kinda clunky for first timers. Maybe it could be a little more user friendly.” and “Elden Ring’s UI makes it literally impossible to play, 0 out of 10 use flames to burn.”

A game that expects you to read the room and figure it out without pointing you in the right direction constantly. You can just... play. No daily quests, no hand holding, and combat that feels SOOOOO satisfying when you FINALLY win.
I remember when you had to actually look around in games for objectives. Nowadays, almost every game has a literal arrow pointing you to each objective. So a lot of these younger players don't see an arrow or a big circle on the minimap showing where the next objective is, and they're like wtf am I supposed to do???

Elden Ring is the first game in over a decade to make me remember why I fell in love with gaming. I've already almost let go of dreams of a good game and dismissed it as childhood nostalgia and manchild foolishness. Now I know I'm not crazy for thinking 99.99% of games I saw in the last decade were complete and utter trash. Now I know there is hope for gaming. This game is so far beyond anything I've experienced in gaming, I really see it as the pinnacle of the art form capable of bringing entire gaming into a Renaissance and out of the current corporate trash Dark Ages.
Yes exactly, feels like something that stands out of cookie cutter mold everyone has been using to create games in the last 10 or more years. It doesn't hold your hand, makes your use your own instincts and create your own path. AAA gaming has been driven into ground with clones of certain titles within big publishers and excessive monetizing of those games. This game truly does feel like a breath of fresh air and a proof that singleplayer titles are still very relevant in our gaming world.
That's the feeling I had when I played shin megami tensei 3 for the first time a few years ago. It wasn't trying to be like every rpg and wasn't afraid to put the player through a challenge which is something in common with dark souls. The fear of challenging the player or innovating and the lack of integrity from the devs/publishers is what makes modern games so hollow.

Elden Ring is my first From Software game ever. I was completely new to this type of game. Yes, it was hard and there was a learning curve. I died many times thinking I could just be like a Skyrim main character and kill everything easily. But, I learned and got used to the difficulty. Studying the different moves and counters to enemies I discovered. I love the game. It’s awesome and I wish that I would’ve played all the other games that came before this one. I might play Elden Ring at least 10 times and start with each class once! Then I’ll eventually go back and play the others. Elden Ring completely blew me away and I still haven’t beat it yet. Yeah man this game is awesome. The sad thing (and a good one too, of course) is that Elden Ring is a quintessence of other souls games and their good game design choices which means some of them are not in Dark Souls 3 or Dark Souls 1 or Sekiro, etc. And it's really sad cuz once you play a new souls game it really makes playing other games uncomfortable :( I've beaten every Fromsoft game many times except Demon's Souls and I could only imagine how hard it would be playing Dark Souls 3 without a normal jump or doing actions on A and not Y. But all these things aside, I am happy for you to get accustomed with Elden Ring, it's a great game, wonderful game series and I wish you all the best luck to explore and enjoy it!
I think Margot works as a first boss because it's basically the game telling you to turn around and do something else. He blocks your way until you explore and get strong enough with enough experience in order to take down that obstacle

This is the first time I've watched asmongold, and I've gotta say I'm really pleasantly surprised at how thoughtful and empathetic his commentary is.
He had the same perspective as these people when he started his souls journey. Got humbled then got God and now he's here
lotta hate on asmon. (even i n area chat when im just chilling in lost ark) and they don't even watch him. funny because i just watched an asmon vid where the reviewer didn't even play Elden Ring and hated it... like why? use your own brain. All the other claims are bs but the bad frame rate one is legit. My game was freezing at zero fps for like 9-10 sec constantly even with an rtx 3060 ti at 1080p. The solution that worked for me was disabling few cpu cores which took me forever to figure out .

I think it's disturbing to see a generation of gamers react so irreverently to a team of developers actually committing to a vision. If anything, I think many people today feel threatened by authenticity that cannot be compromised, see it as a stain on perception rather than the content of perception itself.
GeNErAtIoN oF GaMeRs
@@APrairieDog Ok yeah I guess it's more like a popular trend, not a generation
@@ronangilvary600 I think it's one of those things where authenticity breeds contempt, frankly because when something like Elden Ring comes out it shines a giant spotlight on how little effort and polish most modern games have in comparison.
People complain a lot about how "bad" and boring Ubisoft games are, and the general nature of every other game being the same old tired thing... But Ubisoft and EA and Bethesda and whoever keep making these games for one reason.
They sell.
People buy this stuff. Hell, I buy some of it. AC Valhalla was the most fun I've had playing an AC game since Black Flag. It's a legitimately good game. But Elden Ring is on a whole different level, and that level serves a certain audience.
@@kevinwalter4078 Elden Ring is just overhyped. Watch it fall into obscurity in the coming months.

I've never played a single souls game before I played elden ring.. It is now a part of my life
When people talk about an "easy mode" in Elden Ring, I just know they never took the time to learn how to fight anything. Enemies have a much longer wind up time for most of their attacks (so much so that a lot of vets were complaining about it), and enemy archetypes are constantly recycled so if you learn one fight, you learn like six others. You don't need to have fast reaction times like in DS3 or Bloodborne. And even if the game, as presented, is still too hard, you have tools like magic, ash summons, and co-op summons to help you out if you're struggling
The game doesn't need an easy mode, you just need to have a little patience and read your items/abilities
And don't forget you actually have an OPEN FCKING WORLD TO VISIT and level up.
Oh I'm stuck on some boss? Guess I will just visit few places I still didn't visit, maybe I will find something that will help me and just get few levels.
Not to mention there are tons of videos and guides with "ultimate soulsborne beginner guide" in which they show which stat do what, in which one you should invest first, even some simple builds to go with.
Slower swing speeds true for alot if bosses but weirdly not Margit the first boss. He mixes in superfast no wind up sword swings mid speed staff attacks and slow hammer. Made me think ok bosses are gonna be cool and unpredictable. Then the rest of the bosses were mostly slow or fast, not both.
@@matth2283 Lol that's funny because I have two friends that are like that. They're both girls in their 20s who play games like Genshin or Rocket League, and I've coached them through DS3 and Bloodborne. There was a learning curve, for sure, but they got the hang of it pretty quickly.
Fromsoft games have developed a reputation for being hard games, and because of that I feel like a lot of people want to play them to have another notch on their belt. But that's your only motivation for beating games like this, you're gonna have a rough time.
@@matth2283 That's when you just say "no, equality isn't a buffet bitch, you wanna be an equal gamer, play the same difficulty as the rest of us"
you can even predict the attacks by the type of the weapon easily
The thing is this escalated well beyond a review of the game. He posted several videos including one where he accused another popular youtuber of being a paedophile. Because he was called out for his obnoxious attitude, insulting a minor ans issuing unjust copywrite strikes
Plus the guy already had a bad record, he is a fucking bigot he called a actress or someone a "half-breed" and somehow racist towards his own skin.
Yeah that pedo accusation was way too flippant.
Quantum TV is garbage though
If they add an easy mode, they have to call it the "Maidenless Mode" and every character calls you "Foul maidenless".
Wouldn’t make sense for the story but that is funny !
@@JoseChavez-tu8ne It's an easy mode, it shouldn't make sense for the story. Having an easy mode would make the story seem like a joke, as it would leave the player wondering how "demigods" with the fighting ability of angry toddlers maintained the Golden Order in the Lands Between.
@@binbows2258 But thats already the case with spirit ashes , bleed , sorcerie , rune farming , infinit kamehameha etc etc etc...
the story cutscenes would all be skipped and all the weapons would make dogtoy squeaking sounds, the bosses when (either of you) is out of health would just pat you on the head and tell you to run along
Why not double down it and make it so easy that it isn't even fun anymore. Like enemies don't aggro you, you start with max level and one hit everything and after killing the first boss the game congratulates you on how amazing you are and the credits roll.
Yeah we like things looking nice, but that's secondary. We want solid gameplay mechanics, replayability, and stories that are well put together. And also if he wants to go home and relax, play a different game. There are so many.
