Here in the United States we use a website called "Kelly Blue Book". You can enter the year, milage and condition of vehicle. You can also choose a specific model. This should help you when trying to make comparisons to a US value. Hope this helps. 😁

I just wanted to add that cars are more expensive in Colombia that in the US due to the high amount of taxes that are paid to import vehicles. Basically a car is at least 35% more than its actual base price. Used or new the price tag remains high making it a luxury item that can be afforded mainly by medium to higher classes with some exceptions. Love the video Maya, keep up the good work !!!
If I move away from my home country, I will never buy another car. Owning a car is a headache.
Majority of those cars are over price you probably can get that through financing but not straight up cash. Crazy!

That truck wouldn’t sell for a 100,000 in the US he would be lucky if he get 5,000 for it and that’s a lot . I bought a 1999 Lexus RX truck in perfect condition for 1,400 .

Maybe not $100k but probably worth around $50k. Check out the prices of Toyota FJ40s. They are really in demand by collectors and gaining in value. A friend of mine just paid $10k for one that needs paint, isn't running and needs a lot of work.

if they are verified one or two owners. parts are very hard to find which means fabrication of parts and that costs big $. The 1980 LC is nothing but junk

Yeah well if it had illegal drugs stashed inside of it yes it will go for 100'000 and even more , a few contacts of mines asked me for rides a few times in Missouri I noticed their nice luxury vehicles was always in the shop after a while I figured it out they had hidden compartments in the vehicles that had to be refitted after getting the narcotics out so I don't drive these days and I don't get in any ones vehicles either .

Let me tell you mate in most 3rd world countries they don’t really worry about the mileage all what they want is the condition
actually mileage is very important, I forgot to include it but that’s like the first thing people ask when they are buying cars
Here in the States there is a process for getting the must for a car. First the condition , and most important the mileage on the car which is going tell how much you used the car . If someone tried to sell a car with those prices they would not get a sale at all. All the car's I seen for the exception of the first lady's car would only sell for the max here for about $2,000 dollars . The lady with the green Toyota might get about $8,000 dollar's for her car here .
There's a lot of car buyers that can't finds those old school cars here in the US so they'll travel to Columbia Cuba and some other countries where there is old school cars to buy them to bring them here to the US to sell for higher price ...but some of those other cars that are used most of them would be under $7,000 over here in NYC and Massachusetts and most of the luxury cars like the used Mercedes would be under 11 or $12,000 depending on the year of it and mileage
First time seeing ur channel--Nic Vid!!! But WOW! those cars r SUPER-DOPER expensive!! I had an AUCTION license here in the US(Florida)--Those cars would be between $2-5000 at the auction especially a 96' lol...
The yellow Toyota will bring around 20k-25k USD in the United States, 15k for the truck plus 5k for shipping to the USA, total $20k invested, then to try to sell it for a 5k profit, that's if you don't have no surprises that will kill your margin
Those old school FJs sale for at least 40k here in Texas. My shop had 5 of them and they all sold from 45k-60k

Repairing the car and getting the proper parts in a foreign country must be very important. If you're not rich that is what I'd base buying a car on. How easy it is to fix and how easy it is to get the parts. The same would apply here to the USA but here you can lease a car for about 3 years and not have to worry about fixing it and just re-lease again every 3 years or so.
Older cruise landers are sting but require lots of Maintence.

It's a good video , yes cars in other countries outside of America are way more expensive each nation has it tariffs & taxes / import fees & other fees . As for the airplanes I like them also , some of my comrades are pilots for passenger airlines , I watch Flight Radar 24 live flight tracker viewing planes around the world and in the states to see where they are headed and the type aircrafts they are ect...
Actually those old FJ40 Toyotas Land Cruisers are even more expensive here in the U.S. You would pay about twice as much and they are continuing to go up in value. That yellow '86 in great shape would probably go for at least $40-50k. BTW, just ran across your channel. Once I saw your crazy energy (crazy in a good way) ;-) and fantastic hair, I just had to subscribe. Planning on visiting Colombia for the first time sometime in the next year! Maybe I'll have to buy a couple of Land Cruisers to ship back and sale, lol.
Ese Toyota amarillo aca en USA se puede vender por cerca de 50,000 perfectamente restaurado, Conozco un Colombiano que va a Colombia , Ecuador y paises en America Central comprando Toyotas los lleva a Colombia restaura y los trae alos estados vendiendolos de $50,000 US para arriba.
That '99 Mitsubishi Galant will sell for $1500 here...before the pandemic, it was a $500-$750 car...So there in Columbia, those automobiles are selling for two to three times more than the states...by the way, I'm a car dealer.
The GMC is a really good deal, $20,000 minimum, and with how clean it is maybe as much as 30k.

What is the legal process like when buying a car?? A title?? Registration?? Any paperwork ti be done?? Pay the city or department taxes on the sale?? Is insurance required. ?? How can I be sure I am not buying a stolen car??
Muy interesante. Look for a Toyota FJ cruiser or Hyundai SUV. Cuidado, many cars are overpriced at those places. A quick test is to check if all 4 tires are the same brand. Mixed tires are a bad sign. Good luck.

If it's a diesel model and the right buyer wants it he could get close to a $100,000 and if it is a number matching all original but more than likely about half the price

2:20 Way too expensive! I’d be surprised if she gets close to that! I’m in Itagui looking at cars now. What I do is go to the countryside and look for cheap hard to find vehicles sold on farms, fincas etc

Car industry is not doing too good. We have too many old cars that’s new with new price from 2010 up to now. Most new cars are not a good investment especially in a time like this. Price + Model + Interest + Insurance + Gas + Maintaining. In some cities depending on the economy you can get a very good deal. Toyota holds it value very well, Jeep Wrangler some Trucks and Vans. Top dependable cars. Toyota, Honda, Audi & Subaru.
They’re overpriced like crazy. I will say that they keep the cars in great shape though.

What your viewers don’t understand is that Colombia does not allow the (permanent) importation of used cars into the country. Even if a car is of the current year it would not be allowed to enter unless it has zero kilometers on the odometer. Supply and demand rules the used car values, this is why car owners take such good care of their vehicles and why the cost of used cars is so high.

We have the same taste in car size Mahia :)) If I am going to purchase a car it's going to be a large vehicle that can also be used for other purposes like moving other large items, will not waste money on small vehicles that can only be used for burning gasoline / pollution

That's not a $100,000 dollar truck in the states. He could get $15,000 in the states but a dealership wouldn't give him that as a trade in. He would have to sell it himself.
