He needs to start here first build his business then he can open a laundromat. I pretty sure he will get there since he as been acquiring machines.
He just climbed up a steep mountain with a washing machine-wow! I respect this man. My grandfather repaired washing machines, but this is a whole other level. This is an affordable way for people not to handwash, it's a genius idea but hard for sure. I respect him very much.
Tons of respect to Alex the washer machine man. Very hard working man. Big shout out to afro gurl for taking time to capture this type of media or story for the world to see and realize that we haven't even begin to feel the kind of struggle this guy is going through each day to support his family and keep his business afloat.
Keep in mind, not only is Alex carrying the washing machines up and down hills, but the elevation there is about 9000 feet!
This is a very interesting non boring way to show a neighborhood. Good job!

This work is legit no joke. You have to give all the respect to him and his work ethics.. I spent a month in Acevedo. Going up and down those hills. The workers do some serious labor.. You definitely need his style botas during the rainy season. No other shoe or boot will survive. I watch this video and I miss being in Colombia. Please share more of these videos. These are the people to keep this country running. Beautiful people!

I'm shocked Maya , this reminds me of living in the country during my youth with washer machine & out door clothes lines to dry to dry laundry in the sun/ windy days.
Of all the cultures I've experienced in my living all over the world, Colombian people are the most resourceful people I have ever met. I lived in Colombia for many years, and I must say, Colombia people are probably my favorite people. A warm, happy, resourceful, innovative, and a family oriented culture.

I love to see other people's ways of living. I saw this in San Andres, people renting washing machines. I used to love watching people go about their early morning routines which was a star contrast to the hustle and bustle I am used to here. So relaxing. If I have a double comment, sincere apologies. I don't think my original post appeared. Experiencing other cultures, living where the everyday people live instead of a hotel, really helps to open the eyes.
You are one of the most entertaining of all UA-camrs. This video shows how hard some people work to survive without complaining yet appreciating life.

I really liked this quick view into Cuidad de Bolivar. Could you do some more videos about what life is like in the communas: what are the houses like, how do they get the building materials, the electricity, water, etc. Are there toilets? Do residents have to "pay for protection" from gangs that control the communas? How big are the families? Where do people that live here work? How far do they have to travel to work? How much money does a typical communa resident live on, and what ingenious/frugal things do they do to stretch their money far enough? How has the pandemic affected the communas? I read many residents are originally from the countryside, and have come to the big cities in the past 70 years to work in the industrial economy, or more recently displaced by the civil war (apparently more in Cali). Is that correct? What else should one know to understand life here?

Wow, Bogota is 8,660 ft above sea level and with this extra elevation, you must be closed to 10,000 ft above sea level. Looks cold. Kinda reminds me of Monserrate when I went there.

Advinfromlonfon Colombia government will not let him to do it or if he ever get the permit the mafia from those neighborhoods will force him to share his profits with them. Life in Colombia is very hard for honest citizens. Look around and watch how they build their houses without any zoning laws , nobody cares about safety, sanitary conditions etc it is a caos living in some villages in Colombia and Latin America in general
Alex is a champion of true men .. a woman wouod open up a lavanderia but Alex doesn't mess around washing clothes and all that nonsense , he just brings you the washing machine so you can do your own washing 😁🤣 Amazing insight into how probably most of the world live.. Some people are suggesting he open a laundromat with his 5 machines and let people come to him. But that machine just washes/rinses on one side and spins out the water on the other. The customers would then be carrying 5, 10, maybe even 15 kg of wet clothes home to put on the clothes line to dry. So it makes sense they would pay to have the machine come to them. Remember clothes dryers are very rare in Latin America. I am guessing a bit here, does that make sense, Mahia?
