Thank you all for watching! I will say this is probably my most controversial tier list to date with some of my hot takes here haha I wanted to also say that Kamikaze and Crimson Fury go hand-in-hand to me. I just prefer playing as Kamikaze for the freeze special so that's why they get a bump up to C-Tier. Otherwise they pretty much are both D tier characters IMO.
I know alot of people are going to say Juggernaut deserved S tier for being broken and I honestly agree with you! My only reason for preferring Darkside is because of their amazing maneuverability/speed along side their broken ram damage. Plus, in online play Juggernaut is not very good at all. Sooooo Darkside Wins :)
Lastly, Warthog is NOT Trash tier, no matter how much I hate him for just being MID after going through literal hell to unlock him. Yes, we all hate him. But he's still just MID... not trash.
Shadow's special gets more powerful the further it travels. After a few seconds, a direct hit will do 90 damage. It can be tricky, but pulling it off is devastating. His secondary also doesn't just explode when you lob it. If it doesn't hit anything, it will sit and cook like a remote bomb, and once it is charged up it does pretty big damage. Give my boy another chance!
I didn't know about the longer distance = more damage with his special! That's actually really cool. Personally I still prefer meat wagon overall as the more fun character to play as, but I suppose I'd probably bump shadow up to an A tier then if that's the case where it's just a skill gap making his special feel less powerful
Yeah, the secondary special can do 120 damage and 130 if a opponent hits it. Plus, it can damage multiple enemies. The world record in the second race was done with shadow. The guy killed the enemies before getting to stadium. I did 3 minutes or so in dual juggernauts by just using shadow, without garage and without using juggernaut on twisted difficulty. The same in mean juggernauts. Also, the only way I could get gold on twisted without using the garage or juggernaut in the endurance match in watkyns harbor was by using shadow.
@@VicariousNickGaming another easter egg about Shadow's special in 2012, the person in the coffin is modeled after Ryan Reynolds. He had been in a movie around that time called Buried where he had been buried alive in a coffin. You're not just shooting a coffin bomb at them, you're firing Deadpool himself!

That is one of my only complaints about 2012. There are a lot of vehicles that overlap in terms of designs and specials. That and there's only three character stories.
Reaper is easily my favorite in this game, because it's energy gauge refills so fast. And that alone makes it so strong even with the low armor. Plus when Reaper uses energy moves it costs less than the other vehicles. So good speed, great special and can spam the energy moves a lot more than the other vehicles.
As a Darkside simp I 100% agree with this tier list.

Talón S tier for me... Got me to #2 on global leaderboard back in the day. Was dropping 25-50 kill streaks constantly especially on diesal city

Talon was S tier for a while until he got hella nerfed along with mega gun tracking nerf. Fighting talon before that patch wasn't fun. lol
Sweet tooth makes this game easy mode. Being able to kill the weaker guy through walls with the laughing ghost
Not sure why the developers decided to basically double up on similar characters (Meat wagon/Shadow), and then not include classic characters like Mr. Slam and Hammerhead.
RoadKill has a 3th special - He drops special mines behind him - thats makes him soo much more interesting then death warrent
As for juggernaut, you really need to use turbo dash (learned in the training mode) and he will obliterate everything. Also, it works better in teams, since the second player can use the turrets as the juggernauts in the story mode do. Also, the freeze missil doesn't affect juggernaut. Juggernaut can use the absorption shield more often than other vehicles, so when you are about to get hit with a freeze, use the absorption shield, you will send back a fully charged stalker missile and you will get back your energy (you can do this also when playing as other vehicles), but again, the absorption shield can be used like 3 or 4 times when playing as juggernaut before depleting your energy.
Axel and warthog special do chain damage. For example, if you hit an enemy with axel it does 70, then 80, 90 and 100. If you manage to hit a single enemy 4 times you will do 340. Or you can do 70 damage to one enemy and then 80 to another. (I don't remember well if it really starts doing 70 or 60. I did like 3 minutes or so in the mean juggernauts event with Axel. I know crimson fury is the best choice for races, but I also won the diesel city race with axel.

Don't forget that Sweet Tooth's special also goes through pretty much everything to hit its target. And when you learn him and figure out the bot mode he can be pretty strong. Sure it's over the top but that's what "Twisted Metal" is all about lol. TM 2012 Sweet Tooth is my favorite version ( vehicle wise). But that's my opinion lol. Awesome video BTW. I enjoy every one you post!

I already commented about shadow in another comment lol. But, the secondary special can be used as a remote bomb. It does 120 damge when fully charged if you detonate it close to an enemy and it damages multiples enemies. If an enemy hits it without you detonating it, it does 130 damage.
Crimson Fury was like playing a bad character in a fighting game. You knew he was bad. (and that kami was better in almost every way) but you played CF anyway because you liked going fast.
Had a lot of fun online with them.
Roadkill is my go to. You're right about the regular special. BUT, when you know how to use those Mines (which Death Warrant doesn't have) they are a game changer
I played this game all the time with my brother while online vs was still available. Sweet Tooth is honestly OP. Go into flight mode with mega guns equipped and it homes in on enemies dealing great damage. I cant remember if it was nerfed bad or not (I think it was nerfed a little for sure)before online play went down, but I remember that being near broken. Talon was also great with mega gun homing but had less armor than sweet tooth, so it sometimes had trouble facing off vs mainly sweet tooth in the open. You can use shield to stop freezes when you see them coming, or make a getaway behind something if you're flying and under fire. I played reaper and talon the most, but tried all the cars somewhat.
Junkyard dog's secondary special also works like the coffin of shadow or a remote bomb. The longer it stays, the more damage it does (60 damage). I also beat mean juggernauts with junkyard dog and it also took me like 3 minutes or so. The secondary special online heals teammates instead of doing damage to enemies. And junkyard dog can also do decent ram damage. And that's it. I don't have anything else to say. Sorry for spamming comments. I hope my thoughts help you change or at lest see the vehicles from another perspective.
Yeah, every car can do ram damage, but Mr. Grimm does like 5 ram damage lol. Darkside has 290 hp, warthog has 300, juggernaut has 400 (at least the offline version). Also, the juggernauts we fight have 300 damage and they take double damage if you hit them in the red point or in the doors where they are open. I think this weakness is only a weakness the juggernauts in the story mode have. I think the online juggernaut has 700 hp. Also, the minigun darkside has can be used the same way you use the talon's turret, which means you don't have to keep pushing the button, instead, release the button to save your bullets if an enemy goes behind a wall to protect himself, and then press again the button to keep using the same special. I think sweet tooth has 250 hp and jubkyard dog has 260. With heavy vehicles use turbo dash to do even more ram damage. Turbo dash is something you can learn by playing the training mode. 😊
My mains were Meat Wagon and Road Boat. I miss the online for this game. I'm pretty sure Twisted Metal was about all I played for a year when it came out. If I recall correctly, it took like 6 months before Axel was available to everyone.
Maybe it was in the early beta days or shortly after release but, I specifically remember much of the community response around Talon that it was TOO GOOD in multi-player settings.
Though its entirely possible changes were made, or specific modes in multi-player Talon's ability to pick cars up (friend and foe) fly away into the cosmos was incredibly gamebreaking.

Talon was too good, but it got nerfed along with a mega nerf for him and sweet tooth as well. (flying mega gun spam was powerful)
For vermin's 2nd special too, when that tiny circle on on an opponent while you're controlling the rocket, you can't push the fire button again and the rocket zooms to the enemy so you don't have to pilot it the entire way

@@VicariousNickGaming yes sir! When you pilot the rocket for his 2nd special attack, the little red circle that's on your opponent means you can push R2 again (I believe) and the rocker shoots right to that opponent. I don't know if it does as much damage though

One of the best things about ST's special in black is that he can hit the 10/10 hits' damage bonus the zoomy missiles have twice, meaning that if you manage to get it right it hits like a truck (moreso than darkside's special, which is this expression taken to a literal sense lol).
I actually somewhat like Roadboat, after I figured out that his normal special has bank shot bonus damage so you dont only deal 30 dmg but do 30 dmg per projectile, so there is a possibility to do 90 dmg with bank shot bonus.
Even though i havent played Twisted Metal 2012 yet,
Here's my thoughts on the vehicles based how on how i see it.
. Meat Wagon: I found it surprisingly on how they manage to bring an ambulance car in the Twisted Metal for the first time. All i can say about the vehicle is that it looks pretty good and the design looks pretty wacky better than having it as ambulance truck. Its special weapon its pretty humorous consider you're sending patients to explode at the other vehicles hence why its Meat Wagon. For being an ambulance vehicle for its first appearance in the Twisted Metal game it wasnt bad.
. Outlaw: Similar to the TM black version except, aside for being a SUV, it feels a little faster and its special weapon looks better while using blood missiles. Its design its pretty neat although i wished they added its tazer weapon.
. Junkyard Dog: I am surprised that this vehicle makes a comeback since TM Black but not Brimstone. What can i said about this vehicle, it's pretty decent, i like his color design and its special its pretty cool although a bit sluggish to use, although its fitting for Junkyard Dog since he collects disfunctional cars and throw them at the enemy, too bad it has to be Yellow Jacket LOL.
. Roadboat: I fucking despised this car for many reasons:
1. Its slow as fuck hence why its called with that name.
2. Its special, while it may look neat to see it as magnet weapon, its pretty weak.
3. Its design looks something that Roadkill could have been if it was badly damaged ir heavily armored.
Dont know why but they should have brought back Thumper ( due to its design) or Crazy 8 ( due to its eight ball pool ball).
. Shadow: It ok but its design really doesnt have that same gloomy vibe as the other versions of Shadow heck its flame tattoo painting really doesn't fit at all with Shadow. Its special weapon it's good especially with the detonation sequence. Ok but not as charming as the other versions.
. Roadkill: Its design its neat but its special weapon kinda sucks, if there was any chance its special weapon should have been the classic boomerang from TM2 or the Steel Dagger from TM1 to give a nice reference. There really isn't anything to say about Roadkill except it has decent armor, speed and handling.
. Vermin: I like this car simply because it feels like Google Eye's succesor, its special weapon its good and its design its cool although his color should have white to give a nod reference to Google Eye, aside from its speed and handling this vehicle its unique along with Meat Wagon. I like how when you use the special the music starts playing.
. Axel: its special its pretty effective but for some reason it feels off, maybe its because Axel isnt the game but its vehicle is. Its handling its ok and speed its decent but its armor isnt good. Dont know why they put this vehicle in it, guess its just starting to feel overrated.
. Reaper: Basically Mr. Grimm with a new name. Its special its a one hit kill and one of the main reasons( my opinion) why it could be handy on the Twisted Difficulty. While it may not be as fast or has agile as the other motorcycle versions, its still effective to use due to its deadly weapon.
. Death Warrant: Basically Roadkill but with a different design and different stats, it has the same special weapon as Roadkill and its still sucks. For me the special weapon could have been a powerful version of the napalm or some sort of weapon disc. Not a fan of this car aside from it's speed and its design feels like TM3 Spectre.
. Crimson Fury: Still fast but its armor feels worse, almost as bad as its TM1 self. The main problem i have with Crimson fury is its special weapon which is a flamethrower, it should have been the laser beam from its previous incarnations. It may have the speed and handling but its looks and feels harder to olay as Crimson Fury.
. Sweet Tooth: Its design its cool but also bulky, it has a stiff handling feel and sluggish speed. Its first special weapon its quite good kinda like Spectre's ghost missile but its second one doesnt look as cool as the one from TM Black and it feels overrated and unnecessary. Still fun car to play as.
. Talon: As much as i found Warhawk unique in TM Black, Talon isnt worth to play as unless if its for certian situations( like the final boss). In fact, Talon doesnt even fit in Twisted Metal at all, the reason why Warhawk fits well in TM black is because he is the final boss. Its Tri gun special weapon may look cool but feels weak while the one in which it grabs the car and release it from a great height can be quite handy but it feels overcheap LOL.
. Darkside: Pretty powerful to be honest but its design feels stiff and awkard to play as. Its special weapons are qyite effective especially the Tri Gun and its classic Ramming attack ( i do like the horn sound he does when you use the ramming weapon). My only complaints are its sluggish feel design and stiff handling.
. Kamikaze: I dont know why but i feel that Spectre should have been in this game than Kamikaze. Its has the same special weapon as Crimson fury, excepts its stats are a little better than Crimson Fury's but thats not saying much. Dont get me wrong Kamikaze looks cool and decnt to play but if i were to choose between Spectre and Kamikaze i choose Spectre. The irony is that while the vehicle its called Kamikaze it isnt a japanese car, in fact, is a german car.
. Juggernaut: Technically Darkside except 2.0, its pretty OP to play as and feels as stiff as Darkside, its design could have been better as it could have been a different type truck instead of being like Darkside. It's most powerful weapon is its ramming since it equals Reaper 's special weapon.
. Warthog: F@*k Warthog!
A. Death warrant best car and B warthog's special where he leans back gets so much worse when u realize that the red square on the bottom takes more damage then the rest of the vehicle. I remember learning that through an in-game tip so I'd always launch my missiles the moment he leans back

Hard disagree on Axel. His alternate special is only the second best new addition to him in this game. Because his tires are so huge, his jumping ability in this game is unbelievable. Both of those additions, on to of his speed, make his escapability in this game phenomenal.
I've just started playing this game to learn the ropes and just have fun with all the destruction I can cause (the only cars I don't have are Axel and Warthog, guess I still have to unlock the former somehow). I've only touched Sweet Tooth, Shadow, Outlaw, Crimson Fury, Darkside, and Reaper, but they're really fun to play as. I'll have to get back to it some time in the future when I'm not busy.
You should have been there for the 2012 online flying meta flying vehicles are actually super strong and it's not because of any of their special weapons or any of normal pickups on the map it's because of mega guns flying vehicles get homing mega guns I used to get 10 kill killing sprees spamming homing mega guns if you can remember where they respawn on the map you basically you get free kills lol
I was there on day 1 lmao I Pre ordered this game. This list isn't based off Multiplayer only metas. It's based on single player and multiplayer experiences combined. Plus the air vehicles got nerfed almost immediately from what I remember. Every match they got singled out to the point nobody touched them anymore.

I'm gonna be commenting as I watch. Outlaw secondary special can rear fire and it has helped me destroy enemies behind me.
Do you need to do anything special to make him aim backwards when using his second version of the special? I can't seen to get him to aim behind for the life of me
@@VicariousNickGaming just press the down button of your dpad, like you do when rear fire other wepons. But instead of hitting the button to activate the special, you have to activate the special first and then hit the down button, you can hit again the down button in order to switch from rear firing to firing in front of you.
@@alexmichaelraccoonplays8777 oh wow that makes sense I suppose. It just seems weird that his normal special aims behind you without extra input but switching to his second special you now have to use rear fire? Very odd haha
I expected Talon to be low but I was hoping that would change but a lot of people hate it. I personally would devastate people with it all the time as a air assassin class but I get it solo play with him isn’t as fun but I’m the right hands I’d say it’s at least a low B.

Oh im gonna just write this down for later but I think unoffically all the cars have a role since it was team based just gonna write out what I think every car is.
Axel: Hybrid DPS crowd control
Crimson Fury: Assassin, Get in do damage get out
Outlaw: Dps
Darkside: Tank, Iron Fortress style Slow but the most come and shoot me style of tanks in game
Death Warrent: Dps
Roadkill: Dps
Roadboat: Low Crowd Control Dps
Reaper: Assassin. Glass Canon Highest DPS special weakest Car
Juggernaut: Ultra Tank, Most powerful when 3 players maxed but a bulletsponge otherwise.
Junkyard Dog: Healer DPS, The only Healer Class in the game
Shadow: DPS Charging timed based DPS specials
Sweet Tooth: Tank Crowd Control Hybrid. Highest mobility out of all tanks with Sweetbot special can also crowd control slightly but can escape mostly anything and take a hit.
Kamakazi: Assassin, Crowd Control, Get in do some damage get out also able to freeze whole area of other cars for amazing crowd control if timed right.
Talon: Assassin, Support, The only Flying vehicle that is used to pick off targets from a distance and to lift teammates up or to drop enemy's. Lowest Dps of assassin class due to it also being a support class.
Vermin: DPS
Meat Wagon: DPS
Warthog: Tank, Crowd control, Has two Crowd control specials making it the most armored charge in and take charge of the Tank vehicles.

Crimson fury is obviously the best choice for races. It's even faster than kamikaze. The flamethrower does slightly more damage than that of kamikaze, but not too much. The bemefit of Kamikaze's secondary special is that you don't have to use energy to freeze the enemies and it can freeze multiple enemies. If you have two or more powet missiles, you can shoot them when the enemies are frozen.

B : Reaper, RoadKill, Shadow, Junkyard Dog
C : Sweeth Tooth, Warthog, Axel, Death Warrant, Kamikaze

Meat Wagon was my go-to choice in this game, offline or online. The Control on MW is actually better than most cars of its kind, turning quicker than any other midweight or heavyweight. The speed is.. pitiful though.

Basically all of them are S tier for me, as long as I have fun using their Special Weapon, Low Speed or not, Low Armor or not, Either I die or not. I enjoy all of them.
Of all the games that got "remasters" for the ps4 this was one that certainly deserved it! They could have spent some time making sure the online worked this time around out the gate ect. A whole console generation, and now new Twisted Metal game what a shame.
Phew oh man as Roadboat main all I can say is ouch. You missed quite a few nuances that make him respectably balanced while not being overpowered like all the top tier shadow users from back in the day. First off his main special while not ubber damaging on a straight up hit had great tracking and was one of the only weapons that could be fired with inertial, i.e you could do a hand break slide and angle it to home in and curve around corners. This allowed it to follow cars on curvy roads where as missile would auto track where a car was driving, and hit walls. It also could bounce off surfaces, and had a hidden multiplier so it would do quadruple damage up to 150 same as reaper if you hit someone on the first bounce! The magnet could also be used with mega guns for some player pissing off hijinx "nowhere near as bad as pre nerf talon though." Or to hold an enemy while your team ganged up on them in multiplayer. Truly the best utility, and team player car in the game imo.
You forgot something about Juggernaut he can be as a two-player way you open the back doors somebody of your team can jump in and they can start shooting all over the place
I haven't watched your video, but I hope I can later and I hope you allow me to do some criticism to your yesterday's gameplay.
I think Reaper should be ranked higher simply because in the footage you used you got so many kills with him in a short amount of time, it was basically performing as well as darkside, except you have to actually avoid damage rather than trade damage. I personally never used the rpg it was just a death sentence, the flaming chainsaw didn’t take long to recharge or light it on fire so it was a quick 2 hit on light characters

I thought sweet tooths default special functioned like spectres where it went thru walls its been a minute but i remembered it being like a slower spectre missile

Yes this is true! However the homing capabilities of his special aren't nearly as accurate as spectre's ghost missile in the past. I can outrun and dodge sweet Tooths special in 2012 pretty easily with most characters

Wym Road Boat is trash, if u have mega guns and a special weapon, activate his magnet and pull enemies to u and just gun them down with the mega guns while they're stuck to your magnet until they break out or die
Your doing your self a disservice by not fully understanding each vehicle especially when there is a a sort of guide in game that covers the basics like how each vehicles special works
Alright, gotta say I completely disagree with Sweet Tooth's placement, but thats okay. He's my S-tier. I don't really use the Mech transformation only when playing on Twisted Mode. Never used it online or against other players though. It's too B.S.
From my experience online, sweet tooth was heavily bullied and targeted just like anyone who dared to played taylon :(

Mastering sweetbot can make you an unstoppable beast in any situation. Even races!
Where is axel
Warthog is the worst version of axel. His shock wave only damages opponents in front of him. Axel is faster and has the ability to jump super high. Warthog has more armor but it also has a weak point that takes double damage. For example, a flamesaw from reaper will destroy Warthog if it hits the weak point.

Bro, you're biased. Shadow is better than meat wagon and Vermin is faster than meat wagon. There's a video from luisparson where he beat the second race with every vehicle, but meat wagon because meat wagon is just that slow.

Talon is easily the best character in twisted metal 2012 you will never die if you know how to use him and his special can kill anyone start to finish by it’s self if you stop moving in mid air your sniper charges super face and you can pretty much kill sweet Tooth is second best cause you can’t kill him unless your talon like these characters can literally just go nah I’m out and be gone you will never kill a good talon or sweet tooth
Like we made a rule for twisted metal 2012 your not allowed to play as talon because you will get every single health drop in the game as they spawn in you will get the maga guns every time there is literally nothing you can do to stop him

Death Warrant actually has higher armor and speed than Roadkill, whereas Roadkill has a stronger special and can rear fire for drop mines
Also this video is Shadow slander the special doesn’t act like Meat Wagon at all, it’s the usual Shadow special where you manually detonate, except it gets stronger over time (and the damage goes up surprisingly quickly)
Shadow’s special also bounces off walls, and even non direct hits can get 60 damage, and since you have a camera in the corner it’s pretty easy to blow it up near people
I didn't say that it is the same special as meat wagon, but that it acts about the same. Clearly they are different haha The only part of their special I forgot to mention was that it does increase it's damage over time before it hits the enemy! With that being said, I would bump Shadow up to A tier to match meat wagon in that regard, even if I still prefer meat wagon overall.
@@VicariousNickGamingmeat wagon's special acts more like vermin's special. Meat wagon's primary special does 40 damage, goes on the ground and can be rear fired, vermin's primary special goes through the air, does 30 damage and it is faster than meat wagon's primary special but it can't be rear fired. As for the secondary special, both meat wagon and vermin shot their specials that are controlled manually. Meat wagon's secondary special does 90 damage, vermin's secondary special can do 50 or 100 damage. Meat wagon has 210 hp, vermin has 205 but it's fastert than meat wagon. I already said everything about shadow but I forgot to mention shadow has 240 hp. So, meat wagon is more on the same level as vermin, they both have a secondary special that work "about the same" and they both are exposed when you use the secondary speecial. I even prefer vermin over meat wagon. Lol

@@VicariousNickGamingroadboat can do up to 150 damage if the three missiles hit an enemy after bouncing off a wall. The secondary special while combined with megaguns and then turbo dashing onto a wall does almost 75 damage.
@@alexmichaelraccoonplays8777 that's really cool about the first special doing damage by bouncing off walls! Never attempted to do that so that's new to me. However, the fact you need to use mega guns to defend his second magnet special cancels that out for me. Still a unique and interesting character but they dropped the ball with him sadly. Still trash tier :(
@@VicariousNickGamingwell, to me the disadvantage is that some weapons can hit roadboat while being attached to the magnet.
Road boat reminds me a lot of Grasshopper from TM2. Both their specials requires skill to pay off. With grasshopper it was (Special + Napalm + Shield) = Death 💀
