- You remember the racing right? The one that looks out of place in a Twisted Metal story mode and has gotten a lot of hate because of how hard it was for many? The best cars to use here are the fast ones, but this race can actually be in first place by every car, except for Meat Wagon. Meat Wagon is the slowest car here and the only way it can win is by killing everyone without that bomb in Ghost Town. You have more armor in this race so the enemy weapons will do less damage and the weapons and turbos regenerate a lot faster. The enemy cars have a weird and cheap way of making your car follow in the direction they are going when you make contact with them from the side. Your car becomes glued to them and unable to fight back. You will have to drive backwards to get them off of you. Even Reaper can do this to you. Does anyone know how to make a video that was captured with an HD PVR ezcap 280 sound louder? I know videos sound really loud in VLC media player but not in Windows Media Player/UA-cam.

Great video !! You really mastered this stage. I beat this mode and got most if not all golds some years back. Old ps3 broke. Im redoing twisted to capture it now, because I love this game. Keep it up !!
YEAH Warthog!!! didn't realize his shockwave could make this race ahelluva lot easier.
I suspect that if Twister made the cut to get into this game, I bet races would be even harder to win with that thing flying off into the distance before you could kill her.

Crimson Fury was faster than Twister in Small Brawl. Then it was the other way around in Head On.
Crimson Fury car is best choice for Death race mode in Twisted Metal.
All you need to do is run with sweet tooth through out the whole race.
I remember doing this one time, it was hard using cars other than Kamikaze and CF and near impossible on Twisted difficulty using Reaper. Once you take out Kamikaze and CF or maybe even Vermin because of his "one-hit-kill" sniper glitch it becomes easier. Also It's very easy to kill everyone with Shadow and Junkyard Dog if you just keep dropping Coffin Bombs and Fire Taxi's at the bridge or Ghost Town.

Wonder if anyone online has...tried only using Turbo Rammming for speed boost, Specials for speed boost and no attacking (maybe mines) at all? Could be an interesting experience...might even join PSN for the short while this is up (I heard it the online has been extended recently...)
i will say that the sun springs race is easier because you only have to be in the top few to get in the final arena battle. although i will say, that the blue calypso point race was funner, and i say 'funner', not really that its actually fun, but funner because you don't die after losing checkpoints. although it is aggravating because diesel city is so broken down, and the elevations are so weird, where if you lose ONE jump, you have to redo the race because you were out down to the bottom starting level. also, if you miss a point, you don't see the other one. you HAVE to grab ALL the points to win. another annoying thing is the moving checkpoint, which is hard to get to if your just starting out. also, i never can seem to find the health semi after i grab the final point.

this is the race that even juggernaut and talon could win if they were hacked in.
juggernaut is probably in the same boat as meat wagon; given he has better chances to win by killing everyone.

I'd admit that I had an idea for racing in Twisted Metal. Whether that was a bad idea or not? Don't know but I'll say that racing shouldn't of been in a Twisted Metal game. I think that's better off in Death Race or Carmageddon (that had racing, right?).

All why I think if they do a sequel to that there should be two types of tournaments. One done in the classic format where you choose one vehicle and experience the driver's story that way or the way they did it in this game where it has various events to play. Generally this game's tornament should only be a glorified tutorial for the gamemodes you would be playing online.

Honesty I think Death Races and Cage Matches could have made great multilayer modes.
Yeah Carmageddon Reincarnation / Max Damage had racing but it also had a Twisted Metal-esque Last Man Standing mode as well (with powerups even in the racing). I think the racing of the Twisted Metal variety would have been better if everyone had ONLY special use (with moderate regeneration for ALL the vehicles) and nothing else (maybe Turbo would've been ok or alternative only, so Darkside isnt just rushing into everyone) and absolutely no AA.

Play the game and see it for yourself if you still have it. You're thinking of another story stage that has Juggernaut.
Yeah, juggernaut never appeared in races neither as an enemy nor as a car to play as. Maybe you’re confusing this level with the mean juggernauts event
