    I find it weird how Washington DC is so hated yet Holland is so beloved despite them basically being the same map in different games

    I think TM3 is the weakest game when it comes to levels. Respect for the product they made in such little time though. Still holds a special place in my heart and many many hours of game play

    I would actually say Egypt is B tier. It has 2 environmentals and are fun to use. The only downside is the hills. I would also put the secret levels in Trash and London in S tier.

      Egypt deserves a higher rank than trash
      London deserves a-s tier for the aesthetic
      Secrets garbage

      London is S tier for sure, within the context of TM3 of course

    Watching Auger getting blasted in Tokyo was so funny. I agree so much with this tier list, although I felt like London could’ve been loved more, mainly because of the little teleport areas you can go into and the second floor building you can go inside of. My dad and I used to send Primeval into the hole in the Blimp level and would jump in right after him and watch our cars blow up but cut off the screams haha! So many maps had potential like club kids map. I wished it had more elevation like Tokyo does. I actually didn’t know that twisted metal 3 was rushed through, it explains why so many maps had so much potential but seemed to have very little work effort into them. Great video! 🦗🦟🦗🦟🦗

    Paris from TM2 is what TM3 London should have been….. more Easter eggs and landmarks, plus access to the top of the buildings
    Same with North Pole being a watered down Antarctica

    Swap the Blimp for A and Tokyo Rooftops for S and this is basically my exact same list lol. Pretty spot on.

      Def agree, was happy to see Tokyo get A tier but, and I guess it's a slight bit of personal bias as I started with TM3. Tokyo is the level I immediately think of when any TM discussion breaks out lol

    What I would have found funny about London is if the lanes were facing the wrong way as in England they drive on the wrong side of the road, or our we in America the ones who drive on the wrong side, I'm not sure😂

    Pitchshifter is damn good and underrated. Everyone always talks about Rob Zombie’s contribution to Twisted Metal and don’t get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE Rob Zombie but I wish Pitchshifter was included more whenever the discussion of the game’s music comes up.
    I was always fascinated by the choice to use Innit as the track for the Tokyo level. In the album it’s from it almost feels like an interlude type track, also the fact that it’s not only pure instrumental but also lacking the punchy guitars that is typical for the band. It’s just a straight up drum and bass track compared to the rest the more rock sounding tracks in the album. Yet despite this the devs chose this track and it fits the level perfectly, like it really does fit the vibes and feel of the level amazingly well. I can’t imagine any other track playing on this level, they nailed it with the song choice. 989 were really good at picking music for these games, both TM 3&4.

      Microwaved is an awesome song, it feels like a song that would fit perfectly in the original Dead Rising

      I totally agree, I think Pitchshifter is right up there with Rob Zombie when it comes to iconic music for the series. Listening to Pitchshifter and Rob Zombie back to back in the same sitting goes really well too, especially for that era. TM 2012 has great music too if you haven't played that -- Judas Priest, Sepultura, some punk etc.

    I might be crazy, or it might be a false memory, but for the Washington level was there a secret way to get under the building?
    It was from shooting in the very corner, there is a little square.
    Again, I might be wrong, but I could have sworn there was something like that in the level.

    Personally, I get and agree with most of this. Only change I'd make is that I'd bump the North Pole to A tier at least. There's lots of destructables that are fun to interact with and hide powerups, and it's the perfect size imo. Plus, it takes better advantage of the Jump combo than most maps in the series with the middle gully imo.

    I think most people hate the Egypt map from TM3, the worst in TM3 and in the TM franchise in general

  • @darkside9547
    @darkside9547 Рік тому

    Here's my thoughts on the arenas ( and most of them arent pretty LOL):
    . Los Angeles: Also known as Hollywood ,this level would have been better if its design was like the warehouse from TM1 except with a much darker look and has the feel of a deserted wasteland. The design of this level feel odd and kinda unorthodox. The music kick ass though.
    . Washington DC: This level has so much potential and they wasted, it feels rough, small and shallow. I can honestly said that the beta design of the level that qas shown in the early build of TM3 was ten times better. I found Darkside to be annoying to fight because he keeps spamming his flamethrower.
    .Hangar 18: This level is cool and has the best weapon in the entire game( the ufo), what i like about this level is that if you destroy the UFO above you get 8 special weapons and hear a laugh(which i really like). Too bad that this level is small and doesnt have too many enemies to fight.
    .North Pole: The music is pretty cool but the level design could have been more longer and bigger. My complain about this level is that it begins with the regeneration thing which can be a bit overwhelmed if youre in a grim situation.
    .London: I like this level because its,sadly, the only one that feels large, the music kick ass and really fits into the twisted metal feel. As for the Minion boss fight i found him much harder than the one from TM4 because it keeps firing his special weapons. Did you that you can destroy the clock tower if you fired it with fire missiles or bullets?
    .Tokyo: Another level i like especially since it's nighttime and it has that dark gloomy feel like in TM1 and TM Black, what i love about this level is that it acts also like a death trap arena since theres a place in which ot has a giant fan and you lure the pther vehicles to there death, the lava below that it may not be a one hit kill but it does give enemies a ton of damage, the satellite weapon( my favorite weapon next to the UFO and the eye of the pyramid) which it deals quite some damage and the music due to its dark, tense and suspense tone. Sadly this, along with London are the only levels a like.
    .Egypt: The infamous level of the entire game, the biggest problem of this its the design it looks worse than North Pole, and the fact it has regeneration doesn't help that much, the only thing i like is its environment attacks as they are the strongest in the game and the music which its good. Despite all of that, i hate this level simply for the design, good thing that they improved it in Head On.
    .The Blimp: Quite cool for the final battleground but bland for the visuals, i like that they give this level a objetive and that is to destroy the regeneration device that spawn enemies,its design its surprisingly big but its color visuals could have been better, my problem with this level is its boss fight as Primeval can be a quite headache to deal with and almost as hard as Minion and Dark Tooth combine, i have more trouble beaten Primeval than any other one until..... The final boss from TM4.
    . Club Kid Stage: Looks loke the Arena duel from TM1 except less dynamic and visuals. Nothing else to said except that it feels dull and could have been better.
    .Warehouse: This level would have been great if it was outside instead of been inside of a warehouse, the reason for this is give it like an update homage for the warehouse level of TM1. I like it has crates that you can destroy and twist roller that you can use.
    Overall Twisted Metal 3 has some of the less interesting levels in the series. But i still like the game.

    I agree, these maps are pretty bland and unfinished. Judging from the PS Museum footage that's on here somewhere, the Washington was a lot bigger, and probably more like the size of the Washington in Rogue Trip. It's a shame they didn't get much time to work on this, would have loved to have seen the full finished levels. The blimp really feels like the best, maybe because it was closer to finish than the others perhaps. That and Club Kid's level, which is the only level with an interesting look to it.

    07:00, clearly the worst maps are in TM3, or at least most of them, London and Tokyo are the only ones that i kinda like

  • @TiffanyStarrxxx
    @TiffanyStarrxxx 11 місяців тому

    I have to agree with you that TM3 had the worst maps out of the series. Mainly because I can remember maps from every other TM except TM3. I struggle to remember many if the maps because they're so bland and derivative. Without watching your videos or playing the game myself I would have never remembered most of these maps.

  • @AncientIdol
    @AncientIdol Рік тому +2

    Egypt on trash is the right way to go, and there's simply no saving this map; absolute garbage. The game's physics go against every single feature this map has (the dunes makes your car impossible to control, you have to go out of your way to actually descend the pyramid without flipping over, and the borderline impossibility of driving in a straight line makes getting weapons a task). Not to mention that the AI ALWAYS lands hits on you, while your own missiles decide to go straight into the sand.
    DISGUSTING map that, the worst in the whole franchise.

    I hate hanger 18 that and egypt suck for me i know dc is boring but at least it works with the crappy physics of tm 3 also the frequently respawning health of tm 3 is fun also holland is just as lazy
