Use the 4 doors to make a planter. Make it look rustic and old and put a nice plant in! Recycle x 2
What a great idea!
Great job !! However, you won me over with your compassion for others. When you encouraged viewers to be mindful of why some pieces may be quite dirty at the bottom ;) WAY TO GO LADY !
You can use these hinges for trunks. You could make something out of those doors. Attach to plywood and make a wall decor piece or a headboard for a full/twin bed maybe or bench?
I liked the doors. The color isn’t nice, but the design was one of a kind. Removing the long edges from top, and the big base- and keeping the doors would have made it “modern” but give it a nice retro feel.
I loved the doors also )) These did turned out being clean design, fresh and beautiful, too xx
I know this might be weird but I think the doors could of been used as wall art. If they were painted and spruced up a little. I know it’s weird but as soon as I saw them I was thinking if the knobs were kept on them they could make like a cool “hook” type thing where you put the dogs leash or something Iike that.
Yeah this piece could have been gorgeous if she kept the doors.
@@karisrogers5863 I was thinking the same thing about the doors! I never would have thrown them away. They would be so cool used in some sort of quirky way as home decor. I liked the design a lot!
Absolutely! I loved the doors! I remember those they were side tables not night stands. I remember those oh so well back in my good ole days 😂.
Andersonville, Tennessee here! Got here late, but I am loving watching you do these nightstands. I recently recycled a couple of doors similar to these. I gave them a whitewashed-antiqued finish, stuck two vintage, crystal door knobs in the center, and my friend is using them to hang jackets on as you come in her back door!
How creative! I love it!
Great job. I really like how simple abd sweet these are. I would keep those piano hinges they can be expensive. I also saw some really good ideas for using the doors in the comments below. Thank you for the kind words about those that are older or unable to clean as much as others. I also have to say i have really enjoyed watching you grow and become more comfortable in front if a camera and how the quality of your videos have also grown. Keep it up you're doing great!
Thank you Mary ♥️♥️ I’ve definitely gotten more used to talking to myself in front of a camera 😉
Your videography and narration skills are the stars of this one.
Thank you so much- I’ve been trying to think about the videoing side a little more. So often I get into just doing the work and I forget to try to make it interesting to watch.
❤️ THANK GOODNESS ❤️
I am so SUPER happy TO FINALLY hear kind words about dirty furniture!
I have an enclosed patio, a garage, a basement, an attic & a storage unit...ALL of them have some furniture in them! ALL of them need cleaning to different degrees!
I have stopped viewing some furniture flippers because of the horrible things they say about former owners of furniture that they flip! The people must feel horrible regarding the comments about the filth & conditions of these things if they watch...
You're a sweetheart!
I ❤️ viewing your videos!
Beautiful transformation today!
🙏 thank you ♥️
Those doors can be turned to wall art and piano hinges are actually my favourite!
Well, I guess I will keep them then! Thank you!
Love these! First thing I thought was they were living in the garage for a long time! Huge improvement! The wallpaper is really sweet. These could work great in a kiddo’s bedroom as a combo bedside table and bookcase. Nicely done, Sarah.🌸
PS - I would save those piano hinges on the doors.😊
Thank you- I’ll save the hinges too 😁
@@OurFurnitureFlippingAdventure I thought about those hinges also and I think you should keep them for sure. You never know what you can use them for
Salvage those hinges, pry thte raised decorative insert from each door to use them as (re-decorated) trays or decoupage a prubt on the inside and hand as wall art.
I was thinking trays too😉
Good thoughts!
These are absolutely beautiful now. Love watching your videos all the way here in Northern Ireland. x
North Ireland ♥️ I’ve always wanted to go see that part of the world it is so beautiful!
Looks like the doors are teak. I could be wrong. Make an umbrella/cane box from the doors. A decorative design on a bed head board might work as well. Don't throw the door knobs away. Make towel, purse, coat, hat hangers etc. out of them. Never throw hinges like that away. They can be used on gates, hope chests and anything that opens and closes. Bottom line... they don't make things like they used to and the things they make today don't work or break. Have a question. What king of air compressor do you use and how big is the tank? Also notice your staple/brad nail gun is hooked up to the compressor as well. First time I have ever seen the type of gun you are using. Where can I get one? Project looked great in the end. Continued success.
My air compressor is a 20gal WEN (I have the link for the exact one in my “favorite tools” section at the bottom of the description. I think I found my staple gun at a garage sale but I’m sure you could find one if you searched air compressor staple gun.
They came out great. I want to get a sprayer to use on the furniture I flip. I was wondering what sprayer you use and what size air compressor you use? Thanks
In the video description I have a “my favorite tools” section near the bottom where I list my spraying gear!
Thank you so much for watching ♥️
Loving your sassy sense of humor and sweet words about previous owners! Also, they look 100 times better. Great job! Keep the doors and the hinges! You never know. Those heavy pulls were amazing!
I have the doors and hinges stashed away safely in my salvage pile for now!
Wonderful recycle project! Very nice color and patterned wall paper sans the doors.Brilliant!
Thank you ♥️
I ❤️ your comment regarding the condition of auctioned or any 3nd hand furniture. I don't beli
eve a lot of us ever realized more than tops & drawers needed cleaning until we watched you!
I have stopped watching many others bc of their snarky & cruel comments. How do they know the former owner's aren't watching?
Join together either as a square or in a line vertically or horizontally (depending on the space). I'd take off the hardware and keep for another use. Sand and stain or paint according to rest of decor. Paint black or stain light or dark for Japandi type style
Great job! They came out gorgeous. 100x’s better. ☺️
Thank you Anita ♥️
I love the idea of taking the doors off. I have two nigh stands to flip that are very similar but not identical because of the doors. They are also too heavy so taking the fronts off will help. Wonderful video!
Y'all more ambitious than me. I like to keep it simple. Turned out cool though. Woulda made the doors into little jewelry box.
I guess it's a matter of taste. the update is underwhelming for me. I'd rather you restore the original in its beauty and glory rather than emasculating them. you did a clean and good job but I just like the antique look better.
Ten times better and I love the wallpaper x
Thank you Andrea!
I thought the night stands look nice , but i didn't like the wall paper on them . I think it would look better if you had painted the backs . More people would like it better with one color . It would go with more things .
Yeah, I'm totally not seeing the point of taking the doors off. That's what made them interesting.
The doors were the NICEST PART~ I would so paint them a nice color, take the knob details and paint them metallic and use them as wall hangings.
The 4 doors are now my umbrella box! I showed that project in a recent video where I did 3 projects in one video.
The color is a great neutral - not a fan of contact paper in or on furniture, but it is a light and airy design
First, a question, does anyone know what to call the original "style" of these pieces? Because bulky, heavy, ornamental dark wood, late 70's into 80's, anti-mid century modern is a mouthful. Second, I saw another UA-cam flipper remove the raised pieces on a dresser similar to this and they were just added trim...boom problem solved. Finally, I would keep the hinges, you never know, and besides, you should be able to cut them down into bite-sized pieces.
I thought of removing the raised pieces but it extended into the border frame…if that makes sense! Anyways, I turned the doors into an umbrella holder box so they didn’t go to waste!
Using heat like a hair dryer will help get off stickers and tape
Ok you had me, a beautiful piece until I saw the other holes that were from the old hardware. Here are a few suggestions.1) You had the money, $30, to find something that matched. 2) You could have painted the whole piece. 3) you could have painted something decorative over the old holes such s simple box or a fleur-de-lis , add a stripe there are 100's of ways to disguise the holes. But leaving them is not the answer. best wishes.
The hardware was changed and the holes repaired long before I ever got it. So unfortunately there was no way to buy hardware that would match up with all the different holes in the drawers.
Sorry if you didn’t like it in the end! But painting stripes or something isn’t something I would be happy with either.
Could you have taken the doors and attached them to each other so they were 4 sides and added a piece of scrap wood for a top and used it as a plant stand? or a little outdoor patio side table? You could have painted it white or maybe painted it white and painted or decoupaged the inside of the center design where the knobs were a different color. If you didn’t like the design side you could have put the smooth side of the doors on the outside if you liked that more.
I have saved the doors and will probably make something of them soon!
New sub here! I am early into furniture fixing. Have you found a good paint brand? Tools you can't live without? Thank you!
Hi Kim, and welcome to our adventure! My go to affordable paint is Home Depot’s chalk paint that they mix in store for you. The color options are endless and the price is much more affordable than the “boutique” brands. It goes on well with a brush and sprays nicely as well (you do have to add a little water and thin it down for it to spray properly). If you want a fancier boutique paint I have tried a number of them and my favorites would probably be Dixie Belle and Fusion.
I painted mine with black lacquer. Very gothic and gorgeous.
Cool!
Painting the entire inside would have had a more complete feel
I really appreciate your understanding and reminders about people’s different circumstances and why they might not be able to care for their possessions as well as others, or as well as they used to, etc. It’s so easy for people to feel shame about their homes or their things, or just feel bad about their abilities changing. It’s so important to remember that there are always reasons why people do or don’t do certain things as expected, and remembering this can help everyone be more compassionate. I love the changes you made to these cabinets, even though I also like those doors for *something*, but not exactly sure what! :)
I used the doors to make and umbrella stand!
You should have left those doors and painted them!!!
Great Job! Like your narration, best of all it was well edited and brief. I think unless it it a complicated flip it should be no more than 20 min.
I try to keep things short and to the point most of the time! Thank you for watching!
I'm always curious what something like this sells for after wards and how long does it take for you to sell and where is the best place to advertise something like this? On line or in a brick and mortar?
I sell on Facebook marketplace and OfferUp normally.
Sorry, but why would someone want a nightstand with open drawers? Ok, just a question ….
They sold to an Air BnB
The doors seem decorative. Maybe someone who can build basic wooden boxes could use them as kids for some small chests or large jewelry boxes.
They are very heavy! Someone suggested maybe using the four of them to make a planter. I’ll have to see how adventurous I feel about building something 🤔
So pretty and the wallpaper is adorable! As an older lady who can still get down but getting up is much harder, I can say you are absolutely correct! Love these! ☺️💕
Thank you Robin
They look great. If I lived closer i d buy the set. Very feminine.🌸🙏💖
🙏 thank you
I loved the original knobs 💙
Girl. The doors were my favorite part of the pieces. But overall good job
To each there own! I’m going to be using them to build an umbrella box-stand thingy so stay tuned 😉
Love the wallpaper on the back
Save the doors, you might have an idea soon. TFS 🙏🙏🤣🌼👋💐
I’ve been given a few ideas 🤔 we shall see!
These two nightstands turned out really nice. You did a very good job on them and you should be able to sell them have a good price
Thank you- I hope so!
What a change ,,,they turned out beautiful,,,,totally different,,,, beautiful
Thank you 😊
The 70's had some funky styles...They are a hundred times better!
Thank you! ♥️
Keep the hinges! And the doors!
Those long type of hinges are called piano hinges, and they can come in handy somewhere
Thanks! I did keep them!
New Sub here! Loved the way these came out and really enjoyed your video.
Thank you 🙏 and welcome to the adventure!
I've got a question. How'd you get that grass so perfect?
Our very humid climate and frequent rain means we really don’t have to water our grass…we just cut it and try to keep the fire ants out!
If you turned the doors to the back they could be painted and used as a canvas.
Or put all 4 together and make a upcycled box, planter, plant stand, or a super creative birdhouse or 60’s bird condos.
You could put some decals on it and it would make a cute farmhouse sign. Add a base or hairpin legs and it would make a cute set of side tables. You could add various sizes of feet to each door and get a set of risers for food and decor display.
I know you can make something beautiful useful and inspire and amaze us all.
🥰
They are gorgeous. I’d save 100 times better! 😍
Thank you Vikki!
I really enjoyed watching the process you use!!
Thank you!
they need legs
This is a huge improvement. Very nice flip.
Thank you 🙏
i miss the doors
Loved the wallpaper. It was a nice peek of a little color.
Thank you!
Love your work
Love them
Gorgeous 🤍🤍
Very pretty luv it. TFS.🙏🙏🙏🤣🤣🌼🌼💐👋
Thank you ♥️
Flip those doors over and make trays out of them.
I’m going to do something with them this week!
True transformation, Sarah! Nothing heavy about these now. And score with the leftover hardware and piano hinges!
Thanks Jen!
Beautiful
100xBetter
Gosh I miss your videos...I hope you're well... 😔 😟 🙁 😥
I am well ♥️ I can’t believe it’s been a year since I posted a video!! With all the furniture and UA-cam stuff, the kids and homeschooling, a rough pregnancy and now the new baby I had to decide between doing everything at a sub par level or focusing in on what was the most important- being mom😊 Maybe I’ll get back into part time furniture stuff at some point but I’m fortunate to be able to not have too for now!
@OurFurnitureFlippingAdventure
I'm sorry you had a tough time. I've missed seeing you/watching your videos.
However, I AM happy you're well. If you ever make a family channel I would still be a subscriber to help with your numbers! You were one of my very favorites to view.
Thank you for answering!
❤️ Best wishes ❤️
I'd say 100 times better, Sarah. I love the classy simplicity of both the style and choice of color. I also appreciate your compassion for the previous owners of the pieces. May I be completely honest and confess that I have been guilty a time or two of placing judgement" Thanks for that thoughtful reminder.
Thank you Gabriela♥️
Excellent choices all the way around! I will be borrowing your ideas 💡 ☺️
Actually I’m always looking for furniture ideas for beach condos and those would be perfect for storing rolled towels in bottom shelf or a few beach items .. love it!
I had a beachy feel in mind when I did them 🏖 ❤️
100% bettet. great job
they look very nice. i especially like the backing wallpaper. great job, very kind and nonjudgmental, 50x better
Thank you Carole ♥️
How about a 1,000 times better!?
Thank you 🙏
Hi Sara, you did improve the look of the side tables. That type of piece in my opinion is good for trying out different colors and techniques. I like the idea of using wallpaper in the back.
Thank you
That turned out really nice! Oh, you definitely want to keep those piano hinges. You will eventually use them!
Thank you- I will!
Great job 💚
Thank you 🙏
The results look bland
Well, bland fits into most people’s bedroom decor so …🤷🏼♀️
Absolutely Beautiful!
Thank you ♥️
100 times! Great job!!
Thank you ♥️
Use the hinges on a toy box.
I will keep them- thanks!
Nice job! 1000x better!
Thank you 😊
Definitely better even now
Agreed 😁
P. S. I wanted to tell you, I viewed the "Mermaid desk" again. I ❤️ it! Did you sell it?
I also out your videos on when I am sitting & doing things. I hope this doesn't mess things up for you.
Those nightstands look so solid & heavy. Love the backing...one of a kind set because of this.
Those hinges were insane! Did you keep them?
Yes, the desk took a month or so to sell but the little girl who got it was super excited about it! I did have one person ask me if I’d repaint it for them going from black to grey because the colors weren’t their style…of course I said no, thank you!
And yes, I’ve kept the hinges- just in case!
So beautiful!!! 🤩
Thank you 😊
Love the wall paper
Thanks- me too!
Beautiful! ❤️
Thank you!
Love these and the wallpaper choice. 100% better. Great job!
Thank you ♥️
100% better !!
♥️♥️ thank you
Looks so nice
Thank you Linda!

I love how these side tables came out. Such a transformation. Great idea taking off the doors 😊
Thank you!
Gorgeous!
♥️ thank you
I don’t think I ever would have thought to take the doors off. Great idea.
Thank you! I was sitting, staring at them for a long time, wondering how I could get rid of the design on the doors when it finally came to me 😄
They’re 100 times better now, great job as usual.
Thank you Barbara!
100x
Thank you!
So cute. Great job
Thank you ♥️
Pry off that ugly trim on the doors and use them as shelves.
I actually turned the four doors into a box in a later video!
