Learn How to Paint "HORSEBACK OCEAN SUNSET" with Acrylic - Paint & Sip at Home - Animal Step by Step

- VIDEO DESCRIPTION - This painting tutorial will take you through easy to follow, step-by-step instructions on how to draw and paint this captivating inspirational landscape image of "HORSEBACK OCEAN SUNSET" with acrylic paint. You'll learn simple drawing and painting techniques that will help you to create this romantic majestic spiritual image with a beautiful horse walking through the beach water with a lovely lady riding horseback wearing a long flowing dress. As the light from the rising sun shines on the glistening water reflection, you'll be captivated by the dreamy element of the atmosphere in the clouds and dramatic sky. Surrounded by the warmth of the sunset colors the equine will glow as it gazes at the horizon which will provide a sense of guidance, hope and peaceful energy to those who see it. The sea breeze gently blows the long hair of the girl wearing a blue dress as she holds on to the reigns of the horse's bridle. You'll learn how to create dimension in the shape of the animal, clouds and female body with a simple layering technique with carefree impressionistic brushstrokes to create contour highlights and shadows that will define the small details and add texture and contrast to the elements. Acrylic Paint: titanium white, mars black, ultramarine blue, chrome yellow, fluorescent orange
Other: white chalk, palette, cup of water for washing brushes, paper towel for drying brushes

STEPS:
1. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint 1st layer of sky with blue, orange, yellow and white
2. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint 1st layer of water with black
3. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Finish sky with white, yellow, orange and sky blue (made in step 1)
4. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Finish water with white, yellow, orange and sky blue
5. chalk - Draw outline of horse and lady
6. #6 round brush - Paint basecoat for horse, lady and reflection with black
7. #6 round brush - Paint woman's dress with sky blue and white
8. #6 round brush - Finish horse, woman's hair and reflection with yellow, orange, white, sky blue and black
9. #6 round brush - Sign with orange

Oh wow!! I HAVE to attempt this!! I bought loads of new acrylics and oils and brushes and went quiet for a while there...... now I have to get back into it. I'm just used to oil over acrylic, and find I have to coat the canvas a lot more with acrylic 😀😀. Beautiful!!❤️❤️

Dear Michelle I have always wanted to try my hand at painting. I have friends who paint, so I found you on UA-cam and tried a variation of your Luna Moth painting. My granddaughter just had her first novel published and I wanted to do something special for her. The novel is called "The Blue Moth Motel" therefore, my Moth is Blue. Love this so much I used to show horses. I had a awesome horse named Shawn he was huge 17 hands. I'm so excited to paint this got to finish my I heart contest I had it done and my granddaughter dumped black paint over my canvas.
I love horses too! I had one named Scottie when i was young. Sorry about your granddaughter dumping paint on your canvas, maybe you can find a way to blend it into the background and make it work. Have fun painting!

I painted this one but my horses head was small and the body was big but you could still recognize the it as a horse so I was pleased with that. Lol

I tried ... twice :) the first time the girl was way too tall for the horse, so I repainted the background ... which did not turn out as nice as the first time, but I got the proportions done better this time. Thank you again first great tutorial. Now back to more practicing 😀
