The key to making a good bone broth for dogs is to cook it for a long period of time at low heat. When you cook it long enough, the broth will be packed with more nutrients, vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids.
"Add any kind of bones to your slow cooker or pot until it's about 3/4 full. You can add any type of bone, including chicken feet, lamb, duck or turkey necks, chicken frames, beef marrow bones, etc... You can use cooked bones, but raw bones are the better options because they still have all of the nutrients in them."

i used to do this, a long process though. i use organic beef bones. i was told to use spring water and apple cider vinegar. i let mine cook for 20-25 hrs.
Our furkiddos love a bone broth! It's such an easy way to give them all the nutrients they need for a healthy treat 🙌
I dont even need bone broth, all i have to do is chicken skin or pork skin and just boil it for 1 hour. I store that broth and when i feed them dry food, i pour a bit of broth over the food and they crazy over boring dry food. Good trick.
I'm looking into trying this as my dogs don't like that dead of a nutrition kibble and I don't blame them.
Thank you for this amazing recipe. What can I do with the leftover meat?
Thanks
Can you freeze the bone broth to last longer ?
Is it okay to feed cooked collagen directly to the dogs?
Thanks for the video! Trying some bone broth for my 8 year old GSD. Hope she likes it!
Did she like it mine is 2 years old
@@ramomontana6300 Yes! She absolutely loved it! I've made it a few times since then :)
What's a GSD idk short named breeds haha
around the 0:20 mark that beautiful dog heard you say Bone Broth and got up from resting and was thinking "I'm Ready for Bone Broth" 😄
It is very important to feed our canine kids the fat as well, EXCELLENT & HEALTHY for their brain, coat, skin, organs...
Not necessarily this particular fat. See this article for the dangers of the fat www.thepaleomom.com/bone-broth-risks-skim-fat/
That is certainly questionable. I just read an article that is claiming it is not good to give them the fat. 😔 Really hard to get the correct answer when there are so many different claims.
I agree i feed the pit the entire deer hide and all . She loves cracking the skulls
Takes along time to make
when you use the bone broth after taking it out the refrigerator how do you reheat it to poor on the dogs kibble?
That's what I want to know as well. Good question
You just let it warm up for a little bit before you pour over kibble or raw foods. Dogs only need a few Oz at most. (Really bug dogs might need closer to 3/4 cup) but dogs don't care. Put kibble in, pour the cold milk temp broth from the fridge. Allow atleast 15 mins for the kibble to absorb, and then feed the dog.
Don’t throw away the fat. mix it with bird seed and give it to the birds. No wastage :)
Hi, I have a quick question. I just made a batch of this and separated it into jars. The jars froze outside (I am in Canada) and then thawed. They stayed cold but I am wondering if it is safe to refreeze them?
I had similar problem. I refrozen them, worked fine for my dog. Hope that helps.
I would say yes as long as the bone broth hasn’t gone bad.
Do you HAVE to use vinegar?
You don't, however the vinegar helps to extract more of the nutrients from the bones while also acting as a natural preservative.
Can i serve my three month german Shepherd bone broth. Is he too young to serve bone broth?
No you can feed him or her bone broth
Can I use this for my dog with kidney disease?
Talk to your vet
What i can do the leftover bones from bone broth??
I just gave it to my dog and he liked it
Dogs can't have cooked bones. Not good for them! Will splinter!
@@dambork1238 Never give your dog a cooked bone. It will splinter and hurt them !!!!!!!!!!
Throw them out
@@robertweiland7454 Cant you grind it and give them?
I don't see why I want to toss the fat, lots of good stuff trapped in there so long as it isn't too much served at one time
24 hrs??!!!
Can you freeze for long periods
Air tight container for three months
Why do you have to refrigerate it for 3 hours?
Others have said, because it will separate the fat.
How do you cook something for 24 hours if you’re using a stove?? Do you like stop half way? *fire hazard*
I used a huge pan and made a super big lot of bone broth as I have 12 dogs...i filled the pan overnight and hubby topped up when he got up this morning but it had only dropped about an inch overnight...I suggest if you’re doing a small batch buy a slow cooker.
A slow cooker definitely should do the trick . I have an 11 week old puppy and plan on trying that out .
12hours on low settings
Same question I’m asking myself
I use the high option for 6 hours, and for me is enough. Really dont understand the 24 hours either
I used high for 6 hours, why you wait 24 hours????
Exactly
What’s the cider vinegar for?
prevents the broth from going bad early
This shows you can make a simple video about bone broth and have a lot of people just pick it apart. Its bone broth people not poison....
I didn’t know dogs can have ACV...
Siyu Jiang it’s needed to break down the bone marrow! it won’t harm the dogs in this recipe
A lot of health benefits.
Just use lemon juice instead
@@zappbrannigan77 you can use lemon juice , my vet said NO!
Absolutely! Great preventative for worms ! Colloidal Silver as well .
Why would you take out all that good fat and meat? Dogs need that. And you didn't say why you added the vinegar. Really, I have more questions than answers after this.
make soup out of your dog
throw the fat away? Seriously?
This kind of fats and oil are not good for dogs. When feeding dogs chicken we should also remove the skin. If u have dogs at home u will know.
@@Desp0 and you base these "facts" on what exactly?
@@greattobeadub Facts are available and can be researched but facts are not always accepted by some people. If a fact is not accepted for any reason it does mean it is not a fact.

Comon.. Cooking for 24 hours??? That's for Richie Richie's... Please be practical.. Can't afford 24 hours on stove... High. 'low or medium...
Then don't do it and quit whining.
wym bruh if u can't afford a couple bones and lil bit of water and lil bit of vinegar then u prob shouldn't have an animal lol
You literally stick the bones in a crackpot of water and basically forget about it fir a day. Strain off the fat for humans and then either can it for long term storage, or freeze it in cubes to that out fir long term daily use....
