Beautiful drone footage - and a beautiful episode altogether. Much have been said about old Top Gear episodes and this show - but I think these two guys might at the moment be some of the best car presenters in terms how passianate they are about what they're writing and talking about - and in terms how seriously they take the mission to "bring" and "open" their experience to the world, especially in a combination with a car like this. And interludes where one of the guys simply talk about what they see (a bird) - when it's well filmed and well produced (not in the cheaper EXTRA channel manner) - are a welcome innovation. Greetings from Latvia, keep up the work!
I was thinking the same thing. Their production value has increased tremendously, and dare say better than Top Gear. Their humor, technical presentation and cinematography is one of the best if not the best out there today. Keep it up guys!!!!
That no small feet gag had me so confused and then had me in stitches when I finally got the joke! My favorite car journalists and presenters for quite some time now. Loving the mix of serious car knowledge, back and forth banter between them and the way their production, writing and camera work steps up with almost every new video.
Hands down my favorite channel on UA-cam. Love your content, your reviews are spot on, and the production quality just keeps getting better. That being said, you might want to remember to close the doors on the Bronco between takes next time fellas. 😉
I wasn’t really a fan at all of Maserati but over a year ago when they showed this off I was actually thinking “yeah, I find that car decent for the price”. But so far I’m actually loving the mc20
You guys are the closest thing to the original top gear out there in terms of how fluid your videos are, and how natural they appear. Thanks for all your hard work!
@kenny master why do you people always have to bring Teslas up man.. wtf does a heavy EV sedan have to do with an Italian supercar? go buy your Plaid and shut the fuck up about it
@kenny master the process they use to get the batteries for the S Plaid requires mining companies to dig out whole mountains to get enough Lithium and other rare-earth metals for 10 cars. Plus, the machines used to mine run on diesel or gasoline, and are usually SUPER inefficient due to poor mechanical advantage or high friction between large, moving parts. Making the cars is certainly not economical. Mining for cheaper metals, like iron or aluminum, is a lot more reliable, because it does not require the complex machinery needed to extract rare-earth metals from ore, so it will use less fuel. To repair a Model S, you will spend about $4,500 for the first 10 years of service on average, and that is if something does not go wrong, which, knowing Tesla, is bound to happen, especially with suspension parts. Tesla makes up for poor build quality by throwing in a giant iPad for a center console and having autonomous driving, which can also both have their own faults. The Tesla Model S is able to go between 200k and 400k miles on the original battery, but that is if you drive it only 10,000 miles a year, and considering that most of the people buying the cars probably have a family to tend to, most people likely drive a lot more than that 10,000 a year. In comparison, with a Toyota Camry you can expect an average repair cost of $3,000 for 10 years, with the maximum cost being the Tesla's average. A Toyota Camry can get you from 200k to 400k miles in its life for half the repair cost of the Tesla, and you don't need to be conservative with your driving habits to get it that far.
A little context: Exterior and interior are done by separate teams within Maserati style center. The lead designer of the exterior, Andrea Bruno, is an awesome guy who does an incredible job with his understanding of what is good car design. I remember the first time seeing him sketch and I was blown away. But it's just to say that there is a reason why the interior and exterior could have a different feel to them, as different lead designers work on each respective part of the car.
Guys i must say this - Your storytelling and Production is altogether on a different level. Reminds me of early days of top gear. You guys just missing the sig and the race track. But honestly every time I watch your videos it brings smile on my face with the way the video is produce, the script and the chemistry between you two. Amazing job guys. Keep it up.
This is a great off-road car. Great in the garage, driveway, mall, car show. Yes, anyone would love to own it. When you can afford a car like this, it doesn't have to be practical.
When you can TRULY afford a car like this you'll want to drive it everyday and couldn't give a shit about little dings and scratches. So yeah a little room for groceries or bags would be nice
@@bindingcurve I know,, the storage really put me right off. I mean,, why lol. I still think this is why the Cayman GTS is one of my favourite exotic cars. It's slower sure but still sounds the law and is swift enough at 4.8 seconds to 62. And much easier to drive! And boot space exceeds Audi TTs!
What an intro 😂👍🏼 1:49 genius sound design, music and editing The pitch of the revs on the downshift matched perfectly with the note in the music. I don’t know if this was a result of luck or creativity but it’s this kind of attention to detail in terms of production and script writing that makes every viewer wonder why throttle house isn’t more popular Great job you guys! Another bangin review Much love from India 🇮🇳
Just want to say I really appreciate you guys for never letting your outside problems affect your videos. I've seen about three videos from the straight pipes where yuri was just acting real rude and was giving extremely biased reviews on the cars he gets.
The best UA-cam car reviewers hands down. I love the analogy of the 911 Turbo vs the crazy supercar. I'd say I want the MC20, but I'd run and buy a used huracan instead.
I'm not really a car person (I'm more than happy in a decade old Camry), but I really like to learn about new things. This channel is great because it doesn't hold back on the technical specs while making it still intelligible to the layperson.

I must applaud you both for your honesty. I’ve been following the release of the car since it’s announcement years ago. While not completely bespoke, which isn’t a bad thing, it’s lack of cohesiveness has given me great pause. Thus far, you are the only reviewers that have openly highlighted these flaws. I don’t mind that the engine is derived from a Alfa QV with Mahle pre-combustion added and turbos moved from within the hot V. Doing this allows for cooler engine temps and thus allowing for higher turbo boost pressure. The exterior design is nothing of magical. Refined and subdued much in line with the Maserati language. Remember the Maserati has always been the less flashy Ferrari. A gentleman’s Ferrari if you will. The interior is simple and uncluttered. Much like others have commented, the price bonkers and I think will give great pause to potential buyers who have a lot of options at that price point. If this were $150k USD, it would be much more desirable. Knowing that this platform will also contain a non ICE power train and the R&D it took to accomplish this, I think Maserati overshot in terms of pricing. I do hope that they address the issues with the open top version. Keep up the great work guys. 👊🏻
It's exotic and sporty, but not over the top and flamboyant. It's literally perfect. Starting to become my favorite new car on the market. Maserati really nailed it with this!
Congratulations Throttle House, you've done it again. Another fantastic review! The way you describe your honest opinion, while extremely entertaining. How I as viewer can feel exactly what you feel driving that car - through the camera, across the world, into my living room - is simply astonishing. Thanks for the great work guys! 🙏
The complaints these guys have about the driving are, atleast to me, something to celebrate. It doesn't seem like a modern supercar "switch your brain off and floor the accelerator" kind of car with a million tech crutches. It's a beast that you have to have some skill to tame. I love it!
I am in awe at how far you have come. I have replayed parts of this over and over because every part of the production has been so spot on. I am so happy that content like this is available on UA-cam and it is incredible what a small team can archive without the backing of a big tv channel or company
Maserati really is good at making beautiful things. They floundered around a bit in the mid-80's to mid-90's with some very questionable design choices, but since then they've made some truly beautiful things.
I loved that review, especially because you managed to grasp the essence of the car (as I've been "educated" by a Maserati superfan) And... how gorgeous is that thing!!! 😍🤩
Can I just say from a video perspective, this one flows so wonderfully. The little mini intro always felt out of place to me. The channel logo drop and then into the review flows so much nicer imo. The car as flawed as it may be I LOVE this thing. I like the old school days when super cars were a little dangerous. I feel like when the Audi R8 popped up is when supercars started getting a more refined. The MC20 outside of the V6 engine sound is what I think when I think supercar.
Great line: "To keep the shorebirds happy" tie-back reference. The Throttle House team content (including racing all the cars we want to see being raced), the writing and thought; the on-screen talent/personalities; the polish and style is just all so superb. So professional and entertaining. No one else can compare
Eventual suspension / chassis upgrades over the next few years including an electric motor on the front axel + 200 HP should make for an appealing offering, especially when the Roadster/ Convertible drops 👍
You guys need a show like top gear. You're skits are always creative and funny, and I love the duality of your takes on the same car. You guys have have been great for quite a while, but keep doing your thing.

You guys are a perfect DUO TEAM. You complete each other with matched brain frequencies and levels of humor. Keep entertaining us TOGETHER for another decade please!
As a Giulia owner, I legit laughed at the callout over the steering wheel and paddles. That's the one thing I instantly recognized. But that clicking noise when using the paddles does sound a little different
Wow, you guys got the MC20 before Doug Demuro, and in his own backyard no less. Thanks for another thorough, fair, and of course, highly entertaining review on this gorgeous machine guys. Well done Throttlehouse!
Demuro is a hack with viewers not even old enough to drive..not that he ever drives them either....all he does is stand there and talk. How he gets all those views is odd.
@@netweed09 he was talking badly about the brand but he wasn't wrong, he gave an unbiased review which is all over the internet and any mechanic who worked on those cars would tell you the same, yes they are beautiful and sound amazing but most of your time (well at least on the pervious models) would be spent in the shop..
The intro was golden XDXD Liked within the first 10 seconds, brilliant bit of subtle comedy there. You really do emulate the old TopGear but make it your own thing.
congratulations, guys. I love how you’re evolving with experimentation, humor and thoughtful writing. When you’re at your best you are as good as Top Gear’s/Grand. Tour’s best, and you don’t need alcohol and anger to pull it off.
How nice to see imperfection and challenges at $250K! I agree with Thomas...the bond developed with a car that requires "learning" may just be perfect...
Great job on this guys. Always love the honesty found in your reviews. Looks fantastic. The engine does sound terrible though. Wish the sound would match the looks. Crazy performance though like all modern vehicles. I would still try to get a Huracan EVO RWD for the glorious V10 compared to this V6TT which all upcoming supercar will have.
It's gorgeous. But honestly, if I were into ultra dangerous supercar, for that price, I would buy a Countach or a Testarossa and die in piece with the sound of a V12.
Yep! And with a gated manual shifter to boot! Also, let’s be honest - the “old-school supercar” vibe absolutely does not work with paddle shifters. A heavy manual shift, ok. But clunky, sloppy, jerky shifts when pulling a paddle? No thank you…
Yeeeeeeeah….I’m team refinement. Awesomely stunning car, as so many Maseratis, but I need the predictability. 😜 GREAT video men, the opener was f’n hilarious!
These intros keep getting better 😂 That engine is fantastic, I won't begin to try to understand how it works tho. The engine in this proves what I believe, the last of old tech is better than the start of new tech
I picked up my 2024 MC20 Notte (Una di 50) this morning. So far, I have NO IDEA what you're talking about on the suspension issue. It handles like a 911, is as beautiful as a Ferrari and as powerful as a Lambo. If I were to have one issue (which I really do not ) it's the sound. It doesn't sound like Neptune with his trident is chasing you but... so what? I don't necessarily need a noisy sounding car at every gear level. Thank you for the review and as always the great production value to your reviews. P P.S. I don't like Maserati. Never have (more time in the shop than in your garage mentality). But this... this is unbelievable.
It doesn't spend time in the shop if you take good care of it Unless u get a pre 2014. But if it's upper then that your doing something wrong or you bought a bad conditioned one.
I worked on this vehicle during the development. Maserati made something very special with this car. Not a day goes by that I don't miss running vehicle testing in this!

Just look at what Underground Racing has been doing for Lamborghini engines, and they’re an independent tuning shop. Imagine what they could do with company-level funding
That back view and rear 3/4 is epic. BTW, I thought diesels have been using precombustion chamber for a long time. Love how flaws are character for supercar but just flaws for regular cars. So true.
they do until today . As he said, for a better Flamefront in the Combustion- Chamber. That Technology disappeard in Cars, cause the engines were to big, heavy und there was low Power Output. The Prechamber gets very hot too, because in direkt injection, everything gets cooled by the "cool stroke" -air intake. But the low injection pressure ended in legendary long lasting engines like the Mercedes Benz E300D´s from abtout 600.000 kilometers.
Awesome video guys! 😂😁👍🏽 The MC20 looks beautiful and I would love to get a chance to experience driving it! I wouldn't mind the flaws that it has now. James has a good point. Maserati might make improvements over time as Lamborghini did with the Huracan.
Dont know how you managed to do that, but there have already been so many individual car youtoubers and established journalists and shows, but there is barely one which I enjoy watching as much as your content. Thanks for the work
First time to watch a video by TH, well done. I was curious about the MC20 and this one covered everything I wanted to know. As a current Maserati owner that runs an F1 trans and the auto-clutch I can see a lot a similarities in how the car reacts to the driver input. First it to understand that it is a performance car and it wants to be driven like one. The complaints about the 'low rev' hopping and sluggishness is the driver's doing, just drop a gear and all that goes away. I don't shift mine up to the next gear until I'm at least 4k even if I'm just cruising the streets. These cars want to run at high RPM so let them. If you wanna save fuel, buy a Prius. You guys did a great job and it seems to me that this car suffers from First Edition blues. I will be looking forward to MC20 V.2.0
I’ve been waiting for a credible review of this car for over a year now. I haven’t watched this yet but I know Especially after the Ferrari video you’re not scared to call out bad craftsmanship despite it’s looks
I've been saying this for a while, how has no network channel picked you guys up? Or you're turning them down...The quality of your content is on par with the glory days of Top Gear.
i have questions: - how did you up the production quality AGAIN?? - how many videos did you shoot in cali? 😂 - can we get a little discovery channel/wildlife trivia in every future video now? lol fantastic work, guys. you’re miles ahead of every other car channel on youtube and it shows 👏🏻
Love the content guys keep it up, just a quick comment “pre injection” or none direct injection is not something f1 came up with its old Diesel engine tech, and for most of its history it’s been followed by sub par reliability, hopefully Maserati is the first to get a way with it!

This video is a triumph. The cinematography. The location. The detail. The honesty. I am in awe. Take a bow, Gents.
Dude these videos are reaching Top Gear level production quality and are bound to pass it. Hats off to you guys :D
I wonder if we'll ever have a video where nobody compares these guys to Top Gear
@@nanashi2146 exactly, these recycled comments are so depressing
I'd say the intros are better, because they still surprise me...top gear and the grand tour doesn't really surprise me anymore :)

Honestly your reviews remind me of old golden era Top Gear reviews. You guys are just there!
The bird analogy was such a throwback to the sorts of comparisons the trio liked to make
I wasn’t really a fan at all of Maserati but over a year ago when they showed this off I was actually thinking “yeah, I find that car decent for the price”. But so far I’m actually loving the mc20
Even the upper 2017 are good
You guys are the closest thing to the original top gear out there in terms of how fluid your videos are, and how natural they appear. Thanks for all your hard work!
The no small feet part had me cracking up!
👍👍
Small nose too if u know what I mean😅
@@domasdsfgh smaller nose also than Maserati MC12 GT1. U know, a car from NFS SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED?
Kudos to the entire TH team and Thomas’ yoga instructor for this amazing video.
This is a really good looking car, powerful and dare I say economical!! Unbelievable 😱
@kenny master Can't track it and doesn't look as good.
@kenny master And free panel gaps, battery explosions and stained interior!
Quarter million dollar car is economical?
But damn its beautiful.
A little context:
Exterior and interior are done by separate teams within Maserati style center.
"it doesn't have to be practical", no, but it is nice to be able to take it on a weekend trip. SOME storage is nice to have.
Beautiful car and nails the back end design, which most supercars fail.
most supercars look amazing from the back (Ferrari F8, Mclaren 720s, Huracan, Aventador, 911 GT3/Turbo S)

The pitch of the revs on the downshift matched perfectly with the note in the music.

Just want to say I really appreciate you guys for never letting your outside problems affect your videos. I've seen about three videos from the straight pipes where yuri was just acting real rude and was giving extremely biased reviews on the cars he gets.

I love the old super car vibe! shaped like a bullet and made to drive fast; a monster
The best UA-cam car reviewers hands down.
I love the analogy of the 911 Turbo vs the crazy supercar. I'd say I want the MC20, but I'd run and buy a used huracan instead.
Idk I’d take this over a Huracan. I think…

“Not flamboyant “? Are we looking at the same car?
I never find these exorbitantly expensive supercars all that interesting, but I love watching you guys talk about them.
Absolutely gorgeous car. I hope Maserati makes a comeback.
Looks better than any modern Ferrari imo.
The complaints these guys have about the driving are, atleast to me, something to celebrate. It doesn't seem like a modern supercar "switch your brain off and floor the accelerator" kind of car with a million tech crutches. It's a beast that you have to have some skill to tame. I love it!
Thanks for your comment, I agree these negatives to me sound exciting.
Hands down the best automotive channel on UA-cam. Brilliant review boys, keep it up!
I am in awe at how far you have come. I have replayed parts of this over and over because every part of the production has been so spot on. I am so happy that content like this is available on UA-cam and it is incredible what a small team can archive without the backing of a big tv channel or company
That color is absolutely stunning. Can’t wait to fully watch the video.
This is, without a doubt, one of the greatest car channels on UA-cam. You guys keep doing you. It’s working!
Maserati really is good at making beautiful things. They floundered around a bit in the mid-80's to mid-90's with some very questionable design choices, but since then they've made some truly beautiful things.
I loved that review, especially because you managed to grasp the essence of the car (as I've been "educated" by a Maserati superfan)
And... how gorgeous is that thing!!!
But now we don't get James hitting his helmet on the windscreen
Glad to see Maserati finally got around to building the Jaguar CX-75 for the masses.
Well Done
Glad I wasn’t the only one who noticed that. At first I kept thinking to myself, “why do I see so much Jag F Type in the front clip?”
Glad I'm not the only one to notice, just wish they kept the gas turbine engines 🤷♂️
This looks so much better than the Jag CX75

The intro was awesome! It's the best so far, and that is no small feet.
crazy production quality! You guys always do it the best!
No thank you…
Good luck trying to find a Countach for that price. A TR on the other hand is not as expensive.
Yeeeeeeeah….I’m team refinement. Awesomely stunning car, as so many Maseratis, but I need the predictability. 😜 GREAT video men, the opener was f’n hilarious!
These intros keep getting better 😂
That engine is fantastic, I won't begin to try to understand how it works tho. The engine in this proves what I believe, the last of old tech is better than the start of new tech
You guys and now Haggerty are my 2 favorite car review channels. Video quality and added humor is great.
P.S. I don't like Maserati. Never have (more time in the shop than in your garage mentality). But this... this is unbelievable.
It doesn't spend time in the shop if you take good care of it
Unless u get a pre 2014. But if it's upper then that your doing something wrong or you bought a bad conditioned one.
I worked on this vehicle during the development. Maserati made something very special with this car. Not a day goes by that I don't miss running vehicle testing in this!
That’s really cool
Nice to see Maserati getting some love for a change.
Just don't tell Doug this car exists.
As always the intro is on point.

Bravo gentlemen. That is one of the best intros I’ve ever seen on any UA-cam video! Whoever came up with that deserves a raise.

The tall camera guy is cute, but I'm actually very impressed that he fit in this car. And yes this is one of the most beautiful cars I've seen!

I may not love the MC20 but always love the intros and production of the videos. 4" should be long enough for a beak but...

- can we get a little discovery channel/wildlife trivia in every future video now? lol
fantastic work, guys. you’re miles ahead of every other car channel on youtube and it shows 👏🏻
Your production value has come a long way. So glad to see your content's growth.
Love the content guys keep it up, just a quick comment “pre injection” or none direct injection is not something f1 came up with its old Diesel engine tech, and for most of its history it’s been followed by sub par reliability, hopefully Maserati is the first to get a way with it!
