Same here and my system has the dbrand 2.0 plates on and the extra fan holes in the side I’ve notice help the system run cooler and more silent. The fan holes have dust covers on the the top of the system standing vertical dose get the most dust but I can see the fan now and it clean. Plus the whole liquid metal thing leaking out standing vertical I haven’t had an issue either with that
This been happening to me since i bought a new M2. SSD & then i just finished beating God of War Ragnarok 6 months ago. & Now i took off both side plates & air dust it off. But I didn't want to take off the fan so now it works normally for me.
I’m dealing with this. I already took it apart and cleaned the vents, I’ve checked the power cord, I can’t find anything. I’m so confused😞 Is my baby broken?
I've had overheating issues for about a month, so I bought a cooling fan. My ps5 was in the vertical position and still got the same overheating message, I cleaned out the cooling fan multiple times with the same result. I put it in horizontal position about a month ago and haven't had 1 issue since. Horizontal position is definitely the way to go
Keeping your ps5 in the vertical position can cause the liquid metal to leak out damaging your system permanently. Always keep it horizontal in the future.
@@LARODEO15 i wish it was just a rumor. Three of my close friends had the issue destroy their ps5's in 2022 and have just recently replaced their systems. There is no repairing the ps5 if the liquid metal leaks out all over the main board
It's good to know how to clean a PS5, like an machine. But yours looks spotless. Also never judge shutting down on one game. Games these days are released in a broken state so often. Even my PS4 slim never crashed, but when I felt it, was very hot. Hoovered it out and it was clogged up. But it was the first time i'd opened it up in years, lol.
I just want to point out the system will get hot out the back that’s good the thermal paste is doing it’s job and the fan is blowing the hot air out of the system. If the console overheats that means the thermal paste is bad and it’s not absorbing the heat to the heatsink. Plus a good sign the console is over heating the fan will be very loud because the motherboard has heat sensors and those are what control the fan speed. If your system is shutting off randomly but the fan is not loud you got other problems then overheating
@@ryans413Of course if the machine is shutting off no matter what game you are playing or after a certain period of time. It could be heat related. I'm sure there are many PS5'S that live in dusty conditions:) My point was, yours was spotless and games release in a broken state so often these days.
Use your vacuum crevice tool and the furry tool that is included, don't what it is called, and vacuum the exterior of your PS Console, does not matter which one, every week, cuts way down on anything building up. Some Vacuum manufactures now sell small tools you can attach that enable you to get any build up off your heat sink without having to disassemble your PS5 past removing the fan for access. Use a long artists brush to loosen anything stuck to the heat sink then vacuum it up. Just go slow over all the openings, I do the same thing with my laptops.
Mine was shutting off randomly, without a notice of Overheating. This is due to the Power Supply itself, having dust blocking the vents of said Power Supply. I couldn't find any videos about it, but after cleaning the Power Supply ( it was extremely dusty from it not being a common place to clean), the system no longer shut down randomly.
I had this issue PS5 games wouldn’t play longer than 50min and ps5 felt really hot and wouldn’t turn on until I unplugged the cable and plugged back in, I cleaned the fan multiple times issue persisted, rebuilded data base and issue was still on going, if you’re experiencing this issue and your ps5 is out of warranty I’d suggest to do a full system clean up by following Stage 3 Clean Up of TronicsFix ps5 video very carefully (its not that complicated tbh), most likely the heat sinks and power supply are in need of a urgent clean up, since I fully cleaned it my ps5 has not randomly turned off and I’ve tested it out by playing GOW Ragnarok with max settings for over 3h with no issues
I had always figured that some of the overheating issues were due to the PSU itself as it’s heavily reliant on the blower fan for airflow. My PS5 sometimes got overheating messages as a result of it getting pretty hot. What’s weird is that I’ve only had those messages and a couple of sudden shutdowns a week into having it and not a single instance ever since, which wouldn’t be nearly enough time for dust to cake the system up lmao.
@@oni2662 When I was having the issues, it was at least maybe an hour. My PS5’s been A-OK ever since after the first couple of no warning shutdowns when I first bought it.

I tried rebooting it another time and had the exact same issue. Update: I ended up taking it back to Walmart and exchanging it for a another PS5 and have had the used the other PS5 for months now with no issues. The first console was defective from the start
When my ps5 randomly shuts off in horizontal state and never gets moved but regularly cleaned, then the issue lies within the liquid metal. Hotspots through oxidized liquid metal can cause this issues too. In the worst case you have to reinstall the systemfiles again after solving the random shutoffproblems. Tronicsfix has a solution for that, if you want to solve the problem yourself. Be sure to keep track of the screws, the ps5 has many different screws, unlike the ps4 system ...

I have done everthing mentioned here except taking the PS5 a part and cleaning it, but it still shutsdown by itself playing Gran Turismo 7 only but playing GT Sport it never had a issue with the PS5 shutting down by itself. I don't think it a dust problem with the PS5, because on my PS5 I can play GT7 for over 5 hours of play have not have an issue shutting down, and the next day the PS5 shutsdown when playing GT7 after 1 minute of playing that game, and the PS5 is still cold at the time of the shutdown. Same here and my system has the dbrand 2.0 plates on and the extra fan holes in the side I’ve notice help the system run cooler and more silent. The fan holes have dust covers on the the top of the system standing vertical dose get the most dust but I can see the fan now and it clean. Plus the whole liquid metal thing leaking out standing vertical I haven’t had an issue either with that
@@ryans413just wait until after 3 or almost 4 years without cleaning the psu vents.
@@klikehollow9214thats just a rumor that has been being spread around.
@@LARODEO15 i wish it was just a rumor. Three of my close friends had the issue destroy their ps5's in 2022 and have just recently replaced their systems. There is no repairing the ps5 if the liquid metal leaks out all over the main board
@Klike Hollow go lay down and be quiet
@@klikehollow9214Its just a rumor, I had mine in vertical since 2021, never had overheating nor any other problem.
Yea mine has started doing that after 2 years of owning it. Hope this works!
Did this work? Please elaborate ,this could be helpfull.
@@MultiAbinash I had to take it to a tech place to get the Liquid Metal reapplied bc it melted off

My PS five works fine
I'm sure there are many PS5'S that live in dusty conditions:)
My point was, yours was spotless and games release in a broken state so often these days.
Cleaning that vent worked for me Thanks
Mine was shutting off randomly, without a notice of Overheating. This is due to the Power Supply itself, having dust blocking the vents of said Power Supply. I couldn't find any videos about it, but after cleaning the Power Supply ( it was extremely dusty from it not being a common place to clean), the system no longer shut down randomly.
I think that’s what’s happening to mine the holes are covered in dust. How did you clean the holes?
@@hbro3430 once you've got access to the Power Supply, I used Duster and a handheld vacuum!
I would recommend the vacuum first, then Duster.
@@Randomhero614 thanks man this fixed the issue
@@hbro3430 awesome!!!!
How many hours do you play until you got the overheating messages?
@@oni2662 When I was having the issues, it was at least maybe an hour. My PS5’s been A-OK ever since after the first couple of no warning shutdowns when I first bought it.
@@GabrielIgnacio it just had to stretch a little
Mine just says, “fuck you” and shuts off while I’m mid-game.
I think its all the fucked up software updates and controller updates since mine is disc version and online application i feel like ive never played a disc on it n years
Remember when you're got the ps2 and I'm the words of Steve Jobs IT JUST WORKED?
I bought a brand new ps5 less than a month ago. Played Sekiro ps4 game on it for a couple weeks with no issue.
As soon as I tried playing Resident Evil The Village Ps5 game and it overheated and shut down without even making it through the opening cut scene.
I tried rebooting it another time and had the exact same issue.
Update: I ended up taking it back to Walmart and exchanging it for a another PS5 and have had the used the other PS5 for months now with no issues. The first console was defective from the start
Fix it yet? Mine crashes on mw3 zombies or cold war zombies
Be sure to keep track of the screws, the ps5 has many different screws, unlike the ps4 system ...
bro,i had this issues since my PS4 PRO 98% when booting Warzone 1 that time into the menu ,not to mention the Fan Noise “we all knw that” ,for that matter i have never buy a Playstation ,i have exchanged with XOX “although Xbox was my primary console since X360 ,Xbox One sucks at launched with inferior performance etc but since i have tried both machines i now know that Xbox consoles are way more better than any PS ,its a shame that things are still happening.
just get an Xbox Consoles and u wont face such issues almost at all guys
@@Krypterium why should i get xboxes, when i cannot play the games that i really enjoy on the playstation? I dont care, if the xbox x is "stronger" or " nicer".
Stop trying to force people to buy something, what they dont want, its wrong.
I always put a dust cover on my PS5 when I am not playing on it. They fit exactly over the console and keep any dust out. I bought mine on Amazon. I also have one for my series x. And no my home isn’t dusty I just prefer to look after my expensive items.
If my PS5 had dust I don't think my PS5 will play for five hours strigh with no issues, and sometimes my PS5 shutsdown after 1 minute of plying GT7 while the console is cold.
It's doing the same thing with PlayStation 4. Overheating and turning off Right in the middle of a game
As a spark, I can tell you that all sockets are the same unless physically damaged. We've all seen the liquid metal video by now, there should be no one with a stood up PS5 in 2023. Good vid. 👍
I haven't seen it. Sounds like some bullshit to me.
I clean it and use air compressor to blow all the dust. And never ever put it standing up. Big mistake. I always have mine laying down. Never have any problems since launch date.
I’ve had my ps5 since day of launch from Walmart. And it has been standing upwards for 3+ years bro.. clean it about 3 times a year and have never experienced this yet , maybe you just got a defective ps5 .
The only issue I've been having is the screen randomly glitching out (going black for a few secs), it only does it randomly and not all games or services do it
That happened to me too... it was the HDMI-ARC problem with my Samsung TV (some incompatibility, dont know for sure). the problem solved whem I disable HDMI link on the console and TV.
I bought my PS5 since day one and the only time this happens is when I play Nioh 2. It happens like once every 4-5 hours I think.
It happens to me too but it's an HDMI issue.
This only happens with mine in newer titles with baked-in HDR settings. Seems to be the ARC switching the signal for HDR to sync with the TVs settings (LG 4k)
Cities skylines remastered shuts my ps5 off after about 10mins, going to try cleaning as you suggested, thank you for your video.
Great video and tip! Mine randomly does this at times
A UPS is a must have accessory for a console
I had this problem a couple of weeks ago
And I solved it by cleaning the fan and the power supply from dust
I had to send my ps5 back 3 time already because of this Issue 😢 I Even bought an aftermarket fan to place on the console.
PS4 games keep causing my PS5 to shut off. Why is that?
Sometimes the whole console will just shut off too as it starts up. I have no idea what to do and I've been trying to fix it forever. I also have not found a fix for this specific issue.
Turn off your HDMI device link. It totally fixed my PS5. Something to do with a faulty connection I think
you are a godsent to ps players everywhere
So the power supply is the one overheating, not the APU. And also these always happens with Cold War and GT7
Mine is squeaky clean and still shut off playing ps5 games. 😊
Really hoped this worked i’ve been having this problem for months Even though my ps5 has always been horizontal This problem mostly happens For NFS:Unbound,Fortnite and the finals
I figured this out a couple of months ago. Now my ps5 is fine
I never heard of this issue before, go to know before I get a PS5
this just happened to me yesterday scared the hell out of me
Did you fix it? It happened again?
John Glasscock is the man for your PS inquiring
Danm I hope they fix this later revisions and with the thermal problem too
My ps5 lately has been turning off by itself and I don't know why? Just so happens it only turns off when I'm playing the crew motorfest? I don't play much other games on my ps5 other then cyberpunk 2077 and dragon ball xenoverse 2 and I can play those games all day without anything happening? Then when I play the crew motorfest my damn 💩 turns off? Has this happened to anyone else too? With a specific game? Or is it just me😐
they really need to design consoles with easy to remove cases for cleaning and stop making fancy designed dust traps 🙏
i dont know how i found this channel but im happy i subscribed to this channel years ago. another great video like always 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Hype
Yeah left my system in rest mode. Unknowingly. Came home to play and it shut down and took like 20 minutes to work again. 5 days after buying it "new". I figured rest mode just caused an overheating issue. Ty for basically affirming that.

This is why you should use dark plates 2.0 because the fan is so inefficient with the regular plates

I can't connect my airpods with the ps5 is keeps saying error and give me some code (it says ps5 doesn't support this decise or something)
That's actually sad to hear since I really like Airpods and if the ps5 doesn't use them, that'll be a waste on Sonys part

My ps5 just turned off, I hardly play it, like I literally have played it for at least 10 hours in total over the past 5 months and it just randomly turned off, back to the xbsx I go
That is a major problem. Is Sony gonna charge you for that solution?
Random question for 0:03
Is that a PlayStation (or specific PS5 themed) mousepad?
It is the PS5 themed one, I have the same one. As far as I'm aware they make two, this PS5 one & a Classic (grey) PS1 themed one.
Usually these mousepads aren't exactly made by Sony but rather by a third-party (maybe link or affiliated with them). But yes... They are specifically designed to the ps5's design and theme.
Or at least I think so.
@@Belmont1714 Absolutely correct. These are officially licenced by Sony, but made by a company called Paladone (I just checked on the box lol)

Mine says ps5 overheating, then beeps, then turns off,,,,, only during fifa, no other games
I play nba 2k23 and constantly shut down itself after 2 games.. it was an overheat problem, i guess its the auto temp check that shuts the ps5 down to prevent overheat.. the fix is, open your ps, clean the van, vent and open the disc side, you will find there must be dust, hair or peaces of dirt that block the air circulation.. clean dan vacuum and use brush if you must.. put it together again and it fix the circulation also give the ps5 proper temperature i guess it solves the problem for me.. *to save money and if you didnt know how to open it theres a lot video tutorial to do it.. just remember where to put the screw in.. thats about it.. hope it helps..
