I despise how effortlessly Alex can swiftly locate shorts. When I initially began following this channel, I had absolutely zero experience. However, through dedicated viewing, I can now label myself as a beginner. From my personal perspective, this UA-cam channel is unquestionably one of the most exceptional platforms for learning. I wish to convey my heartfelt gratitude for all the videos, Alex. Your teaching is genuinely remarkable, and you've sparked inspiration within me in innumerable ways. With hope, I aspire to attain a similar level of efficiency as you one day. Furthermore, I've observed that Alex might have intentionally amplified the volume of the ending theme song, possibly as a response to those who expressed disapproval in the previous video. LOL.
I really think despise is not the word you meant. Resent would be far better since you praise him in the rest of the comment.
@@tylermcnally8232 envy maybe a bit better
He teaches you to troubleshoot 80% of issues, but he really doesn’t teach you electronics or how to troubleshoot those other 10% of issues… Alex is wonderfully entertaining, but he does make it look way easier than it is.
Yeah this guy knows how to explain well and keep it smooth.
People will view this and think, oh how simple. They don't think about the nightmare the first few were that you gained your experience with. Great video Alex! Thanks for sharing.
What people fail to realize is that they are paying for your knowledge, not how long it takes. They are paying you for something they could not do. Great job!!
I think the real thing people fail to realize is in terms of the repair Big Boss is doing like 85% of the work offscreen.
Proper disassembly / reassembly and the initial troubleshooting of these devices before it hits Alex's desk is no joke.
Not to minimize Alex's efficient efforts and expertise.
I think comments like this actually minimize the entirety of the effort that goes into a repair like this as it only references the troubleshooting benchwork.
Amazing work. Amazing video. :D
You're not paying for the time it took to fix it. You're paying for the time it took to learn to fix it. Good work.
When this person get PS5 ther not gonna be writen. xxx˘for my time tiching you how to fix on UA-cam bot its gonna be writen something like: xx$ for parts, xx$ for material xx$ for time we spend on fix and so on. PErson who ask. How kost wanna know becose of X reason. Maiby he ask just to know how much he gonna pay for his PS5!
Also alot of very expensive equipment to fix it amongst other things.

If you take it to a professional, pay him/her for his/her service even if you saw it's easy for him/her to repair it. That's because he/she is a professional in his work.
you/they forgot to say him/her
Everyone can be a professional if he or she can afford such highly costly thermal camera
you for got more his/her him /her
@@Denise_in_progress if you don't know what you're doing, what's the use of a thermal camera?
@@Denise_in_progress No, no. That's "it looks easy on UA-cam so I can do it right away, too" fallacy.
Wow!!!! What a fast and straight approach.but you 4got to thank Big Boss the boss of all bosses.
Ask, who is the big boss?
I have an unhealthy addiction to these videos. Thank you for your time and knowledge.
Friends, are you also engaged in maintenance?
I love how excited Alex gets after even the relative simplest fix.
To a Technician it is like a Adrenalin rush, it hard to explain just a good feeling
.
7am here in the uk and a great video with a morning breakfast tea,,,,,,,,, thanks for posting
Yup, great way to start a day here in Wales 👍
Amazing how "easy" diagnostics are when experience and rational thinking intersect. Another great video.
Wonderful and SIMPLE!... As SIMPLE as witnessing Usain Bolt sprinting 100 meters. Alex is a true master in his domain, and observing individuals who have refined their craft over the years transforms any experience into pure enjoyment, a true form of art. Alex please continue sharing these videos.
The most misunderstood part the magnifier not just the soldering, People think cause it's big and clear OH I CAN DO IT, Hell no. It's a microscopic size MASTER SOLDERING profession. Micro soldering is one of a kind profession. IF you think you are smart enough, Go ahead and learn it and start making a lot of money, It's in high demand. Thank you Alex for your services
Speed = experience. Your work is becoming some kind of art
Best line "...my soldering station is off...nice..."
The color one of that 4 caps is obvious which has problem. I knew it before you applied alcohol.
I think Big Boss should do an improvised little tap dance routine whenever he reassembles the repaired PS5s and switches them on and they work! A dance of celebration all round!
“The short can run but it cannot hide” 🤣
Love that your daughter's music became the ending music of the channel.
ya know alex i've noticed in alot of your videos when u fix something u get this lil grin, i think we all can appreciate and relate to this.
it is amazing how well you "operate" all your electronic patients, my mother would say that you could also be an amazing medical surgeon, it's amazing how firm you handle the tools, if i would do myself will be like if I'm playing violin hahaha, great job ! I am electronic engineer but not as talented as you :), greetings from Spain
super, ......comme a chaque fois, c'est toujours très intéressant , merci (from belgium ) 🙂
Alex, curious WHY so many electronics see to get shorts like this? Dirty power? Not using proper surge protection? Crappy components? Product abuse/misuse? I ask because I hardly ever have electronics go bad. Yet, I have friends who seem to always be needing something repaired or replaced. Maybe a combination of things?
If space is precious, engineers may have to use caps that run closer to their limits, raising the chances of an already marginal cap to fail. But eventually, some caps die even if the circuit provides a lot of margin.
Better than factory!
Great repair, seeing your work flow was interesting
Nice- great new NF post video audio theme tune " Better than Factory"😎
His daughter made the song ! Pretty amazing right ? He has such a nice family , great job Alex!
Amazing that the electronic circuit is designed to not have a more extreme failure due to the caps shorting time ground
Its easy for the professional after experience mate, after that the same fault is easy to fix, pay the professional for the fix not how fast or slow!
Great outro! Love the work you do on these systems to show what experience can help determine symptoms that are similar across other electronics. I've learned so much just by watching and really wished I had the same electronic inventory you do!
Damn Alex, there are levels to this, and you up there.
Awe you inserted your daughter's music at the end of the video, that's awesome.
Love your videos i've learned more watching your videos than any other source
For me it is easy to recognize that you are a master of the repair and for all your years of hard work and gained knowledge pays off in quicker repairs. I am happy for you, but know it's from your own sweat and also a gift from God. I don't understand why anyone would ever think because you fixed this one quick you should charge less. Crazy to me!
Excellent precise work as always Alex, Big Boss and Maryam also!
i like that "Kings of Short Circuit" put that on the merch 😊
Love this mans confidence! Another Great Repair!!
"SAY HELLO TO THE BAD GUY!" - LOVE IT! GREAT REPAIR!
It's not about how long it took to fix it, it's knowing where to look and having the tools and knowhow.
I want to hear more of that Northridge fix theme song... It would be hilarious if there was line that was like " oh no its a hiroshima" , "you've been busted by northridge fix" .... Lmao
12v shorts are the best! Good job Alex 💯👍🏻
That was my guess due to the color being different from the rest.
Look how easy he removed that cap. That's what good tools help with. Wonder how much are those hot tweezers
If its a common repair why not get a reel of equivalent caps (or better version) and just replace all 4. Could then be better than factory
console came for a repair not components replacement
exactly what I was thinking lol
@@n00buo we breathe oxygen not air
I think it's not necessary 🤐
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Hey, you were saying you were coming back from " Big boss" to end the video, but you ended it at "Big boss"’s workstation already, meaning the video was shortened even more by even a few seconds - we want our seconds back with a longer video the next time! 😂
Wonderful job as always! I watch to see a professional work, so thank you for the quality content!
That dirty cap just got busted by Northridge Fix!
That dirty cap thought he can get away with intentionally failing for no damn reason. Now he will never taste electric juice again
great video, I remember when I started my adventure with electronics and learned from you
Better than factory 😊
Please I have a question
If you had injected voltage on the first voltage in that line, would it be possible to know the source of the short?
Thanks
Whoa short vid but amazing work 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
We work by the millisecond! Love it! Great content, learning a ton! I was wondering, how many languages do you speak?
Thanks.
“Since I have alcohol right next to me…” 😂
Hehehe, I love these videos. I don't know crap about electronics aside from the basics but love to see a pro doing the work. "Say hello and goodbye to the bad guy" cracked me up. :-D Many thanks, love it, it's both educational and entertainment at the same time.
Just simply amazing, as always
rip ''the bad guy"
"Say hello to the bad guy" I like that🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Amazing skills bubba!!! Thank you for the vidyas!!! Keep calm and keep big boss moving on!!! Better than factory? Better than factory!!!!
Found your channel last week and loving it. Where do your donor boards come from?
BigBoss is the Boss of all Bosses and Alex is the Best of all the Bests! 😊 ( Hello from France)
Problem is, what is causing those cap’s to short?
Good video I have ps5 broken I try to fix it
good luck!
It's not a bad idea but also mind to compare your tools and experience with his.
"Say hello to my little bad guy"
And this is why you pay for the EXPERIENCE and not on how quickly a job can be performed.
Better than factory!! Thank you for the video!!
It would be interesting to know how many are no repairs vs repairs.
Good job mate 👍
One of these jobs where you can say "I have alocohol right next to me"...
I took my nieces to a professional computer shop, it’s doing exactly what you’re saying and they are telling me that it’s unfixable which I’m calling bullshit on that. Nothing is unfixable
Wonderful
I suggest that You take measurements of the caps You re removing from donor boards SO if You run out of replacements You know the value.
"We are the kings of short circuit" --Alex :D
God bless you Alex ❤
I recently saw a video where the narrator has an interesting take on doing job or service for a customer. Paraphrasing:
'The cost a customer pays is not for your time. It's for a result.'
The money is for your decades of experience and training on how to troubleshoot and fix a customer's problem. Whether you fix the problem in 3 minutes or three hours--depending on the type of work--is irrelevant. It's the result that matters. And the cost for reflects your ability achieve that result efficiently.
Nice hope you the best ❤
Great knowledge and video As always..
Modern componant failure particulary smd cap's as you say 80% shorts in most cases' also they're big brothers electrolytic's ect' but i will say the older electronics ( pre smd's & IC's ) had a better longevity , working on 70's Audio & Band Pa's and heads caps & resistors were easy to locate when failed ( after many years ) but now you have SMD's you barely see with the naked eye , makes me wonder when a componant fails after only a hundred of hours of duty , is all this minature componants the way to go ??
What value cap do you use if you don't have a donor board ?
Failed caps usually belong to a VR, which tend to have more than one cap straddling the same two points. If it has no neighbors, another similar VR may work. Worst case, he asks us.
A customer pays for the knowledge and experience and of course for big boss handling fees.
Find the cap in black and white thermal
I took it to a professional and it was working normally the day after I got it and knows it’s doing the exact same thing
Great work
Whenever you take a part from a donor board I would measure the parts value and document it!
He knows what he’s doing, period.
I was just suggesting a small change that can help to save some work on future repairs. So your useless answer is just that.@@UHateDatImLoved
I want a T shirt that says "Wow. Amazing. Wow"
Special Reconnaissance member Big Boss skillfully breaks through case enemy lines, extracts motherboard and returns to hand it over to special operations expert Alex. Alex analytically interrogates the motherboard, determines the guilty culprit and conducts micro surgery with the hot tweezer secret weapon. Alex hands motherboard back to Big Boss who crosses the case enemy lines again to restore the motherboard to its rightful position. From a safe distance Alex and Big Boss gather observation intelligence and determine that one more world disaster is averted. Alex and Big Boss are an amazing team.
Great video!
Better than factory with factory parts. Nice :D
Was that a Razor Ramon reference?
Big Boss the boss of all bosses.
I like that joke most but today it has been a loss. Big boss wasn't thanked.
Oooh please do tell about big boss...fancy name there
We are the kings of short circuit
It would be nice to change all four capacitors with new ones
Do the 4090 repair vid pls.
Don't like the fact that tiny cap. Can short down the whole tower giant ps5...
Sony should however give us portable and durable ps5 consoles...
Nice touch Northridge...weldone sir
Short and to the point. Great video. Not all trouble shooting goes this quick. But in the future with AI. Who knows...
Humanity will use AI instead of experience to do work and the IQ of the entire species will drop a few more points.
Just got my PS5 and I think it already has this problem
Hello @NorthridgeFix when you say voltage drop how do you know this??? can you show your screen?
Work by millisecond ❤
Do you give warranty on your repair if you use used parts?
Why you so dumb 😂
I think it's not rare to find used parts working even better and longer than some new ones.
Warranty is the same, he uses donor parts at his discretion.
Ok, we get it. Time does not equal value. How much did this exact repair cost the client?
hey where is that 4090 repair video :)
✨Master of the electronic arts.✨
Big fan From Afghanistan 🇦🇫 can you please make some videos about iPhone Hörer flex how to copy and write with J-box
It doesn't matter if it's easy or not... what matters is the result and that is what you are paying for... sometimes it's easy and you have luck but sometimes it's not and you spend a long time before it's fixed.
in the end always comes bill! 🤪
