- Harvest season is over and now it's time to prepare and package our products. Holiday markets are approaching fast, and we need premium products and distinctive labeling to stand out.
I have a pretty simple product line up, with premium products for me being comb honey. This video shows my new way of preparing whole frames to sell, and I also show off some of my new labels.
I've been on a long label journey, but I finally have a label line up that I'm happy with. It did require some professional help and I'm glad that I reached out to Chris @portageriverbeecompany1472 !
Comb honey frames and stands were produced by Skip Luttrell of 777 Apiaries.
Gus. Your straightforward authenticity is one thing I really enjoy about your videos. I've found that as soon as a channel starts getting super-produced, I lose interest. I believe you should keep up with exactly what you're doing. You produce excellent content!
Aint much Fancy in us ole Hillbillies!!! God Bless Youall And Your Bees!!!
You might not be fancy Mr. Mitchel, but it is satisfying and solid information!
Labels are amazing and Beautiful Brother!
Dance 🕺🏻
Do it!!!
Great video! Thanks for sharing your process.
Gus keeping it real. I like That. keep up the good work
Hello Gus!! You have a really great looking product line-up. Very professional!! Thanks for your honest/no frills beekeeping videos. Simple is good!! Looking forward to meeting you at Hive Life in January!!
Thank you Gus for showing us your methods ofdoing things. Great video
Gus you’re perfect just the way you are. Love your videos. ❤
The labels look great! The comb honey technique looks very visually appealing. Your intro was hilarious!
I cracked up
lol, I loved the intro! I dont like the gimmicks either. What I personally want to see is the people being real and honest and genuine, I dont get into the videos that seem like a production and full of fairy tales and everything is perfect lol, I like to see you guys and what your going through and what your doing, thats why theres only a very few of you that I watch. I like your labels too, really nice. Keep up the good work Gus, God bless.
Thanks, Gus! It all looks terrific. Remember, the label isn't crooked, your packaging is bespoke. And you should charge double for that.
Gus that comb honey packaging looks great. Also you don't need to act or play music. Your content is always good and that is what is important. You help a lot of people.
Wow so beautiful Gus, just gorgeous
Beautiful product. I hope you get $100e for them!
I laughed with you about the intro. Good info. I have not seen this info anywhere else .
Thanks for the tips! Your products look very professional and appealing. Always enjoy your videos, keep up the good work!
Alway love your videos. Your don’t need fancy graphics and music 😀
Looks great Gus!
great video as usual. thanks for your time and sharing with us.
Well, decided to stop painting equipment for lunch and turned you on.
First let me say, I'm glad you don't do all that for show stuff at the beginning of your videos. I just fast forward through that, because I'm looking for content.
It's another great video with helpful information at the end.
And let me say! That final packaging for your comb honey frames is First class 👏 That's something 👌 You will look very professional taking that to a restaurant. Heck I have some middle eastern customers that would stop doing business with me, if they could find your product. 😆
Gorgeous packaging for the frames. I occasionally get a call from a middle eastern group for combs and I never know how to package it or what to charge. Good ideas. Thanks.
Truly enjoyed your opening. It was so cool for you. I've been looking for someone to put together my labels. I'll try and make contact with him.
Thanks Gus, I like the shrink wrap look. I am guessing the comb can still get damage easily thru the shrink film if your not careful with handling afterwards. Would have liked to have seen how the frame goes in the box and how it keeps it from getting damaged.
WOW you have really got it going on. Looks like you have worked hard to get it all correct an it proves to be true . Now in your comb frames is any part of your frame packaging that is reusable or do you just start over for your next season or do you have like a frame core fee etc. . It good to have all your ducks (Bees ) in a row now it’s a lot of hair pulling to get things where you want them . THANKS
It could be for the buyer if they wanted, it’s all recyclable
We do a lot of heatshrink plastic where I work. They start at one end and work to the other to get the best results. They don't move all over their work piece. You're DO look good though.
I’ll give that a try, thanks!
An actor, Gus is not, stick to your day job buddy😉use those all the time in trucking🤣if it doesn't work send it back. Thanks for the tip on the fans didn't know that about air flow.
You mentioned Hot Honey labels. Speaking of that, have you considered making a video on how to make it?
Yes, I have one lined up
Nice work Gus! That's some impressive packaging. What type of customer buys a whole frame of comb Honey?
Nice wondering if it would be cheaper to buy the clam shells and then wrap them to keep insects out as opposed to buying the more expensive comb honey containers.
Probably but they won’t stack
@@gusmitchellcranesnesthoney6529 Yeah, trying to decide what I want to order were gonna do a little more comb honey this year then last.
Really helpful Gus! Do you nail the frame holder together or are the pieces just held together by the shrink wrap? Do you make them yourself?
Held together with friction, the shrink wrap helps though.
Triple 7 apiaries, Skip Luttrell makes them for me
Gus, that’s so cool! How much for a frame packaged and including shipping? What nectar source did your bees use?
$60, without shipping , summer crop vine and cotton.
Cool concept Gus! Who are the customers buying this from you? I wonder if it could be sold as part of a charcuterie board?
Yes that is a target customer, I have a beautiful customer pic on my Instagram of a whole frame on a grazing spread.
@@gusmitchellcranesnesthoney6529 nice. In our area there are folks who are working with the local farmers markets and put together these boards for the holidays. They're selling quite a few on Facebook from the looks of it
Where are you getting that box for the frame
I may have something in the works on that so check back with me.
What are the two bottles of dark honey?
Probably fall honey unless you mean the hot honey
Were are u getting your 2x4 and 4x4 comb boxes? Thanks
Blue sky
@@gusmitchellcranesnesthoney6529 I used your method of storing comb outside with great results this winter but my question is how do I get all the water out of the cells
