- Last look at the venerable L.E Orla and L.E Ciara and first look at the new lake class - Inland patrol vessels Rotoiti & Pukaki, purchased and shipped from New Zealand , which arrived in Cork on 14th May 2023
👍🏼 now if they just started paying our navy enough they might even be able to head out to sea at some stage.
Sad to see two fine ships go fantastic memories on Le Orla
L.E Ciara the best. I had some great adventures on her.
They were great wee patrol boats remember seeing them in Hong Kong
Beautiful
great all they need now is sailors to crew them and engineers to maintain them, the cart before the horse as usual
Main deck guns of newer patrol vessels are NATO standard shrinking to 25 mil.
Now that's a Piggyback ride big time.
If they sell one to me I will live on it.
👍👍
A bit much to call it a naval service they are inshore vessels and would come off second best if the came up against a Russian Trawler also a bit much to say new 😉 New to Ireland maybe 🤔
Honey I've shrunk the Ships.
Will they have fish finders?
Sell it to the Philippines right now 👍
Philippines need that ship
The Irish Navy - only navy that if they jumped overboard they'd get stung by nettles. ~ It's believed there was a training vessel of some kind on land.
P41 and P42 were the fastest and had the biggest Guns.
Good video 👍 are they going to fit a main gun onto the two IPVs ?? I read they were going to have a 30mm RWS but not heard anything about them purchasing a couple
HMNZS Rotoiti Lake-class inshore patrol vessel fitted out in 2007. Hardly new. HMNZS Pukaki not much better.
No forward gun?
