Built 420cc Golf Cart Build Pt. 3 | First Ride!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 лют 2019
- We're continuing our street legal golf cart build, powered by a stage 2 Predator 420cc engine producing around 20 horsepower. In this episode, we fabricate a motor mount and go on this project's first ride! The engine mount was tricky because it had to move with the rear differential to keep the chain tight and lined up. We came up with a clever way to allow the engine to move with the rear suspension!

This thing would do really well with a giant set of tires-- maybe we'll lift it after we get it road legal!
Im going to hold you to this statement...sounds RAD !!! #dontyouplaywithmyemotions
lift it!
Make it look like a mini old willy's army jeep...
Great idea!
The lug pattern on most golf carts fits 4 wheeler wheels and tires you might be able to Chuck some old 4 wheeler tires on it for cheap
1:57 how did that trailer hitch feel Ike 😂😂😂
Ginger Smash 😂
He looked at it like whoa!
I'm glad you pointed that out I went back to see it hilarious
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
make a mimi trailer to haul go karts around!
Weld the diff
There's always that one person.....
PUT A FCR CARBURETOR ON IT
Shit bud stealing my idea
I agree
I thought the same thing. Weld the diff and more grippy tires
Love it you are the best got me a hat for me and my stepson we love you guys's work it takes me back to when i was rebuilding go karts and mini bikes doing that brought me and my stepson closer together there's nothing like kiting out a 212 Predator motor with the help of family thank you for bringing that Joy back in my life and into my family's life you guys are awesome
Thanks for watching
I was in awe too with the sound of that thing, and when Ike came barreling down the road, WOW!

Bigger tires are going to change the gearing, maybe just enough! Great progress.
Congrats on 600,000 subs
I did 2 of those a few years ago, the first one was in good shape other than steering and all of the electronics were dead and I put a honda clone 110 four wheeler engine that was a 3 speed with reverse. I used a rack and pinion steering system from 2011 ezgo golf carts for both of them while saving the original steering column. If that is an old aluminum gear box steering assembly sitting just above the pedals with a lot of slack in the gear box you can have a machine shop put a bushing in it possibly and save it but the parts for them are no longer available. The other one was a 70's marathon that I did a complete frame and electronics restoration on and put a rack and pinion steering and 2014 ezgo body and roof on. I have pictures of the second one at different stages if you want to see how it turned out, we still use it. If there is a golf cart service shop near you that installs suspension lifts and more, they usually discard the front steering assembly because it doesn't work with the lift kit front end and have those and many other parts laying around. You might have to pay something for them but it beats full price.
Just something about watching these guys calms and relaxes me. I've always wanted to do this shit, but since I don't, I'll do the next best thing and watch!
The way you guys took a golf cart and turned it into a top heavy, noisy go kart is amazing. Nicely done gents!
And to make it street legal so its like a slow unsafe car! Awesome!
slow car? You need a ride in my Camaro. :-)
Host a street legal mini ride with fellow small motor youtubers and fans!!! Groms, mini bikes etc... would be awesome. Shout out to your camera man and you guys editing. After watching some other comparable channels recently watching you guys is professional as it gets. For the content you provide and the tips and tricks you share this is “pound for pound” one of the best UA-cam channels and in my opinion still highly underrated. John and Ike, I’ve been watching since you made the video trying to convince me I needed to build a budget go kart haha... just another toy to the collection. Thank you for your time and efforts. It’s a pleasure to watch after work. You’ve came a long way and are still growing. I’m sure it’s as much of a pleasure on either side of the camera... bravo gentlemen. So much stuff I still can’t wait to see on the future. Got us waiting for more, but it’ll be fine. -Ace
ACEverything Channel 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks for watching
Isaac it'll be fine Our pleasure!
I had one of those carts once, my steering flopped around too. I cut the steering column off about 6 to 10". It made it steer alot better. More stable, just felt better, solid. Great vid's guys, keep them comming. thanks. O-Well, you know what they say, easy come , easy go. LOL
" We're gonna be put in some miles on this thing with all our parts store runs" Gonna be one of the coolest shop trucks in town!! Maby build a flatbed for it.
Looks sweet fellas sounds pretty mean too
Awesome guys can't wait to see the end result, engine sounds mean!!!
Thanks for the build and please never sell out. Love you guys as you are.
That thing looks fun
You guys have come so far over the years! Welding, engineering, performance, mechanically. Everything had come so far over the years! Great job guys! And as always great camera work and editing John! Or whoever is filiming now!
That is just great fun..love the RPM rev
Fresh coat of paint and a nice love seat and that thing will be complete
You make me wanna buy a 420cc and put it on a mini gokart.I have so many custom mini go karts that I’m starting to lose count.cool build keep up the good videos
That thing is going to be a freaking beast once completed.. love it guys keep up the good work
Lift kit , Big tire's and the right gearing . That thing will be awesome and street legal. Good time's.
OK this is almost as cool as the Rail!! cant wait for more!!
Congrats on 600k subs. Love this build. You guys ROCK!!!
All videos are great, but this one personally is the best in a long time!
Love the golf cart
Shock is loose! I can see it wobbling around
Love seeing you guy's video's. Keep it up
That's going to be fun when its street legal !
Awesome, been waiting for this.
I'm not sure but I think this will be the first totally legal cart with functioning safety features that you've built. You've built bikes and cars but never from scratch a street legal cart.
This made my monday so much better :D
Congrats on 600k!!!
I hate monday but, the monday vid makes it good😁😁
Thanks for the great video guys i have a 13 hp honda engine y'all convinced me to build thinking street legal motorcycle
This is friggin awesome. I can't wait for the finished product. I agree u need a reverse box.
hey guys i just think that you guys are super cool and i love this build, i have an 81 Yamaha lifted golf cart that has been fully rebuilt with a 16 horse power duro-max motor in it this build is awesome.
That things freaking awesome guys. I love it to bits , so don't be destroying it. It's soooooo freaking good. 😎👍👍👍👍👍
Congratulations on 600k!!!
Thanks again fellas .
Sounds just right...fast ass golf-cart with attitude !
Thanks guys
Nice job on the video guys
Very sweet. Can't wait to see what it's like when it's done. Reverse box would be nice if you can manage, would make it more street-able. You should definitely take it through a drive through!
The reverse box can take more power if you spin it faster. So do all the reduction AFTER the box and it'll be fine.
been welding 46 years and I still want to close my eyes when you weld , even if it's a vid
That hill climb was insane I love the hand operated throttle
I love it, " I can't get over how loud it is" ROFL!!!!!! that's a first
Congrats on 600k. Keep up the great work.
i love u guys you are my fav channal never stop making vids
600k - congrats!
You guys can probably safely assume there will be some form of noise testing to make sure the golf cart isn't excessively loud, good call on the muffler.
Love the vids guys keep them comin
Cool builds fellers.
Awesome video
Love your videos
Looks Sketchy as heck! I LOVE IT :D
I just discovered this channel about a week ago and you guys are AWESOME!
Thanks
There was this guy at the old campground that had a 2stroke snowmobile engine in his 3 wheel Harley Davidson golf cart. That thing was so fast smokey and loud!
Congrats on the 600k subs boys!
You definitely need reverse! I used 6x6 1/8” wall square tubing on the front end of mine ! Just unbolt the leaf springs insert 6x6 bolt to it and flip steering sector to the underside! You would be amazed how a 6” lift makes it steer better and ride better and air shocks on the rear with spacers so it’s not to stiff of a ride ! You should try it ! I think it cost me about $60 w/ shocks . Lift kits cost about $200 !
Can't stop laughing on the ideas running through the CarsandCameras mind!!!!! So many!!! But going to be on awesome build!!
ring and pinion sets are easy to find for golf carts from golf cart parts houses and come in almost as many ratios as car sets . also if you can't get or have a spool made for it at least do a Lincoln locker for it the one wheel peel is silly with that much power . if you split the housing you will find ring carrier like a car has and it can be welded the same as a car then reassembled
Two speed jack shaft and a electric reverse 👍👍
If you take out the little filter thing on a 212cc and probably on a 420 also you can weld that to the end of your header to make it a bit quieter.
buggies unlimited sells adapter kits for the hubs so you can mount quad/ atv rims and tires.
Pretty sure they said in last video the bolt pattern is 4x100mm and were planning on using some miata wheels/tires. :D
Can't wait to watch a new video keep making vidos on it.
Loud pipes saves life’s
The fear in your voice towards the end leads me to believe you have some serious fun on your hands there. Sounds badass!
For reverse, you could look around for an old Polaris trail boss/trailblazer and rob the reverse box from one. They can handle the torque from that 420.
Loved it
Seems to do really well! Little more fussing with it (gears etc) I think its going to be a great build! Roll bar might be a good thought too!!!! (Still waiting for the burnout Ike)
Guys this maybe my favorite build so far
Great video guys!! Really enjoy all of the content!
They have a limited slip kit for those diffs. Some companies call them ‘traction control’ You can also change the gearing in the diff.
Keep up the good work!
That like the roadkill of go kart
Hi, my name is alex and I am very inspired by your work . I began watching your videos since the beginning and I'm talking about way back when you got the Murray and so forth . I had a passion for building and rebuilding go kart awhile back but know I'm 13 years old so I am now a car machanic working on and restoring cars and trucks in my dads 140'x120' pole barn and half the time I tell my family about parts of the cars and they think I'm talking a different language.....lol. well anyways I can't wait to see this project done hope its pretty awsome. Sincerely alex
I’ve been waiting for this video to come out for such a long time lol
This thing is going to be awesome when it's done!! Possibly use the turn single/light controls off a road bike?? Good work guys
Man, I can't wait to see it when it gets done. What are you guys going to name it. IT IS LOUD
That is most definitely the scariest sounding golf cart in existence
The thing sounds Wicked over the speaker on the phone!!!!
Looks and sounds great. Hope you can get the reverse to work out. It’s good to have in a golf cart.
Totally "BADASS"!
Lock the diff
Sick!!
I just got me a used Go-Cart frame and I need some help with it. I’ve been watching you guys for years and would love to build my own. You should do a video series where you pick a subscriber to teach how to build a Go-Cart. Keep up the good work!
WELD THAT DIFF!!!
Love it keep it up
my dad has a 20 HP twin Honda engine with original gearing it's been that way for years very reliable and has great low end torque the rear end he has you can change it to 2WD too bad not four wheel lol i honestly think with the right gearing y'all will hit at least 60 MPH heck why not 70 MPH? I love y'alls videos keep them coming
I would love to see you guys weld the diff
From some angles it looks like an old army jeep go green!
Pretty sweet! About 10 years ago I converted an electric cushman utility cart (4 wheels and like 20 feet long lol). I put a Honda gc160 on it but I found you get the best results when you have a jack shaft and can change the final drive. You can make it WAY over drive to drive that rear and and you will be doing 120 in no time lol.
They could go 120 mph in that heavy cart just as soon as they drove it over a cliff. Overdrive? Really?
If they geared it for 120 mph there wouldn't have enough torque to make it take off.
You should name it One Wheel Peel lol. Awesome to see this old Electric cart go Gasser. Cheers Guys! Zip~
If you're going to put seatbelts in, a roll bar of some sort would make for a good mounting point. Thinking of Isaac on this one lol
Street legal will require DOT certified tires. There is an auction site that has these in sets, tires and rims in different tread patterns.
Another thing to know is that your cart will accept a 10 inch rim without any modification. Larger tires equals moderately higher speed also. Just a thought
Without getting carried away in detail -> you guys should build a faux jeep willys body for this thing... Be crafty - A few simple bends and wrap and rivet a couple of rolls of HVAC duct crap around it in just the right places and presto it will look like a little jeep from 30 feet away...
She goes. Definitely need to weld diff.
