Pro tip: Have the shocks tuned.. Most people ignore tuning of the shocks that's a bad thing so have a custom shop tune the shocks you will thank me later 😊 ✌
Truth. Suspension tuning can make a world of difference!
I'm very very very seriously doubt these guys need any help from you they have a very successful UA-cam channel and building stuff from scratch they don't need some keyboard warrior like you telling them how to build they know what the f*** they're doing
Looks to me they having a blast without the "pro" tip
@@jhljhl2207 it can have its capabilities updated and upgraded without sacrificing fun, ya know? Might even gain some fun factor with more stability....
Be neatoh for them to make a video with the suspension tuning cats explaining how they do it.
I hope you guys know how lucky you are (not that you haven't worked for it)! You have the best toys ever!
Yes guys, I am very bummed I missed the pick up trip. I literally dream of wheelies at night!
Swindled yaself bud
If you guys decide you need another, I’ve got a built race yamaha rhino with a rebuilt 08 r1 in it I’m getting ready to sell. I’ve had it and rebuilt it for the last 6 years. I’ve had my fun but I’m ready to let go. Down in Redmond Oregon!
Great filming, man! Premium video, as always!
The drive shaft issue is called plunge. It's a thing when on race cars when you try to increase camber but it usually drives the end of the shaft into the diff and breaks mounts.
Over 30k viewers in two hours, impressive. The golf cart is also impressive, can't wait to see the mods.
I love how much the boys have grown they really never disappoint Ethan is a master creator
That golf cart is awesome. It instills the don't care my hat just flew off vibe.
Time for your kind of upgrades !!! Can hardly wait to see what your going to do with it !
I noticed right a way that the front tires seemed to be plowing a little when turning sharp, hence the tire squeal we heard. After viewing the rest of the video clearly some modifications are in order. No doubt the changes will only increase the fun and safety of the machine. Looking forward to more on this new Grind Hard driving Premium golf cart !
the tire squeal is because its chain driven, so it acts like a spool rather than a regular differential, but yes, it doesnt turn well lol
You need to put upgraded bits to take up the power of the R1 otherwise they'll keep breaking. If i'm not mistaken there's a modern kit made from billet that you can swap in old Buggies. I saw something when someone was restoring an old dune buggy on Discovery.
Oh please find and link!!
I ran 930 Porche CV's on my Baja. Way beefier
@@AZBADBOYz YT dislikes links in comments and they ban the comment if you post stuff (at least that's been my experience). As @ephjay bellow said, it's likely a Porsche CV (there's even a picture of the different types of CV stacked side by side, and you can see the beef between what they have and what should be). A quick google shows plenty of people upgrading their bugs with it and even a handful of buggies. So that's possibly the same thing they used in the show. Looking even further into it, showed me the time the first posts about it on forums match the time i remember watching that show on TV, back when i still used one.
Farm PTO shafts will work.. but they're heavy
@@ephjay6t87What people use in 1000hp sand rails might hold up to these guys.😂
This is the kinda channel you give a like before you start watching 👍
I would love to see this thing ripping, also would love to see you guys do some more disc golf one of my favorite hobbies!
What a find, it's properly fast on the sketchy side lol. Once you resolve the axles etc, you could run slightly taller tires and lower the suspension by about the same height the taller tires increased rideheight. You'll keep the same rideheight while lowering the CG and the risk for rollovers and it should help with cornering in general with greater grip and stability making it more fun to toss around. It would also help a bit with the sketchy steering (though you pointed to it needing work) since larger wheels/tires tend to slow down and soften steering response a bit though they may increase steering effort at higher speeds.
You want Porsche 930 Turbo CV joints on there. They have a ton of articulation.
Edwin achieving Joyous Luigi Laughter mode at 08:45 14:58 is always Priceless here. I’m looking forward to see how far “E-Z-Gone” is gonna be stretched by our dudes to achieve liftoff & escape velocity.
Ed - we could use a Papa Olding check-in sometime.
if you GHPCo fans don’t yet know of him, then you’ll see that nuts don’t fall too far from their tree when ya do…he gets OG Rad.
I'd say shortening the length of the arms and making the shafts thicker would be a better option than having the high center of gravity it has now and it seems like the steering angles aren't right because its sliding on the turns.... I'd like to see what this would be capable of w/ trailing arm suspension on the rear, that would look really cool since it's all wide open back there. 👍
99% of the time you snap a shaft it is at the end of the spline inside of the joint. If you make the shaft larger but keep the same joints you then end up with a more concentrated stress point at the spline runout. The spline diameter is dependent on the joint so no matter how big you make the shaft the dimensions of your original failure point remains the same. @10:44 you can see that the spline pitch dia is roughly the same diameter as the rest of the bar so going any bigger would just be adding rotational mass if not negatively impacting the strength. When designing some halfshafts for the overseas Asian market we were actually putting some healthy undercuts in the middle of the shaft to comply with crash test safety guidelines and in testing we would still break at the larger diameter end of spline. Hope this wasn't to much. I enjoy learning stuff on here and thought I would extend some knowledge I have learned from designing these things for 8 years.
Airbags or similar ride height adjustment I think would be cooler
@@BryanBeachy - Thank you.... I'm always open to new information, especially when I'm not an expert on the subject. 😁👍
@@zyeborm - I feel like it would be better lower to the ground w/ a slightly narrower wheel base than what it has now... Also I think the trailing arms would look really cool, especially the way Ethan does them Ducati style/skeletonized.
Have better hooked up tires will help too those aren't dirt tires
My boy was freakin out when he saw this. I built that cart about 18-20 years ago. This was the second build. The first was a little bigger. Built them forr the dunes. Modeled it off my buckshot x-5. So crazy to see that it still around and ripping.
Nice find guys!!! This is gonna be an insane project. I’m still excited to see the upgrades for the diesel limo and the fire truck!!!
The 60yr old cvs held on longer than the original now that's true workmanship
There's are great UA-cam channels, then you have grind hard plumbing, hands down the mad scientist of youtube.. please never quit what you guys do I love seeing the new builds
That thing checks all the boxes to fit in with the GHPC toys! So sick!
I hope you guys beef up that roll cage. Im fairly confident you're going to be using it in the near future.
😂😂😂
Just wait till a tie rod snaps.
I had the same CV joints problem with my 16valve swapped 84 Scirocco. It was slammed, so I raised the suspension 1" and replaced the CV joints and axles with 944, of course it's a little more involved than described but the 944 units are good for 300hp.
I thought I saw you guys at the drag races in Eagle ID. I was on my way out on Saturday and didn't think of it until I passed ya. I got to the car and thought "that looked like Ethan and Will."
Love the content, jeep it up guys!
That’s really nicely done. Super impressed.
It's good to see Sam again. Is he going to become a permanent member of grind hard plumbing company again? 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I hope not
@@azertyytreza8947 ?? why?
I'm thinking about those big paddle tires and how much more grip they will have. If it broke two drive shafts with the much smaller, and less grippy, wheels, the same drive shafts are going to fail the first time you floor the throttle. It needs stronger drive shafts before you go to the dunes.
You’re theory on the axle length sounds spot on, was my first thought when it popped the axle immediately after it hit some bumps on the dirt.
This might be the coolest thing I’ve seen that wasn’t built on this channel!
I feel like the chain ate through the chain tensioner because its a stationary tensioner. If it was spring loaded it wouldnt have as much tension on it to where it chews through it. For sure need to see about a better braking situation in case you lose the axles for some reason. Awesome purchase though! Cant wait to see the improvements on it!
I believe this has potential to be the best build on this channel ! And obviously, that’s saying alot! I know these boyz are going to take this to an insane level!!!!
This might be the single coolest golf cart I've ever seen. The chrome smoothie wheels are the perfect touch.
I'd love to see your shopping cart at the drag strip lol. Imagine the launches with 4 rear wheels!
That thing is so insane, its awesome. Y'all should bring it down to the lake of the Ozarks, we have a couple of offroad parks that opened up in the past year. That thing would slay the hill climbs.
Oh hell yeah!! You guys are playing one of my favorite little disc golf courses in Idaho!
If you kill more CV's see if you can find softer clutch springs to drop the shock torque on them from landing jumps etc. Could also help to squat the suspension more so the CV's are straighter. I'd use an agressive dual-rate spring setup so it's super soft on droop and stiffens up a ton at ride-height. This will also help with body roll.
A couple months to dial it in before it's time to put skis and Traxx on it.. :) This was an Awesome find guys!
Once you've been down a dragstrip once, your hooked. I raced motorcycles in the 1/4 mile drags in highschool. I went on a mission for my Church and the day after I got home was opening drag races so yes you got it I was there.
Rail tires on front, paddles out back, find some dunes or snow. SO cool.
It’s great to see Sam again. 🙏🏽
I loved every minute of this video. If you going to drive that's the way you supposed to drive ! The next time y'all drive that's the way you drive! Whoa!
You guys always build and find the coolest stuff! Would love to have Ethan put a Hayabusa motor in my suzuki samurai!
This thing is sick love how you was easy on it in the neighborhood and as soon as you get it home full send 😂 love all yalls content
Love that you guys went frolfing!… itd be a great video to see you guys play a round!… maybe call out the foundation guys, then take them to play on some of your toys!
I recently bought an fz1, which has same motor as r1, was going to swap motor into my raptor 700, but riding the fz1 has been too much fun. That golf cart looks like so much fun, thats badass
This thing is absolutely premium!! What a ripper 😮
EZ GONE is the PERFECT NAME! That is LEGIT! With a bit of tweaking and upgrades to driveline and those paddle tires it is gonna be a whole lotta fun in the dunes! Best Golf Cart build I have yet seen already. As Always, May God Bless you and yours! 😇
Legit*
@@Sun-ut9gr Right you are!
no way ya'll throwin discs lolllll, i love it!!!!
That jack sounded like it was getting pleased.
Hopefully this inspires moto mule to finish his golf cart build 🙏🤞
Now that looks fun, I really recomend front brakes, I would also build a reverse system from a starter motor one way bearing on the motor and revise the chain drive as the belt tensioner will last less time than skateboard wheel does, maybe a bearing not sure maybe just a slider would be better similar to dirt bikes in the 80's used.
The sound of that engine is pure GOLD!
Sick can’t wait for this . Please tell your dog brings the golf ball back 😂😂😂
I just seen this on Facebook market place last week and thought about how cool it would be. I'm glad I get to see it in action
Firebird! Recognized our local strip from the first clip. My grandpa raced there every year for my whole childhood.
Looking forward to watching your upgrades
Keep that brilliant video's coming boys
The sound of that R1 💪💪💪
Amazing toy guys.....really gets with the program!!
Nice video bro 😎 your cinematography and effort you put into these videos are crazy. How do you not get burnt out lol your work ethic is insane
My guess is t hey are absolutely living their dream which makes burn out almost impossible. When you wake up and do the thing thats all you can think about, its a pretty powerful thing.
I always thought the same, lots of quality in “shenanigans” content but I absolutely love it, from the comedy to the drone shots, and obviously the rigs this is my favorite channel ❤
I love your videos!!! it’s amazing !!! I’m a mechanic from Germany and just amazed on the fact that something like that is even close to street legal 😂😂
it would be funny to see a video of yall taking it to the golf course and see what they think there
you guys are some of the coolest humans ever
Aye! Nice to see you guys on this side of town! I’m 10 minutes from firebird raceway!
Those golf clubs behind you 'looking around' as you drove the track. If you see it you can't unsee it.
Can't wait to see you throw it on tracks this winter
Look at the toothpick like axles and a-arms, how things have advanced. The axle broke from wheelspin on dirt with grippy tires, it's harder on axles compared to steady traction on pavement.
This was a popular DIY build in the early sxs days. When the rhino 660 was considered the sportiest sxs, people built stuff like this.
This is one of my favorite purchases you guys ha e made
A weight plate up between the front lower control arms might do you some good lol. Looks like a blast!
You guys have some amazing toys. But that’s by far the nicest one you guys own now
you guys seem to be very happy, congrats on the youtube success.
That thing is so awesome. I love it. I want one.
I need more of this
That thing is gnarly! Needs some shock valving or tuning done to it. Looks like it needs swaybars or beefier ones. It is such a crazy whacky machine. I love it! lol
Hi grind hard❤. U guys are doing amazing 😮project am very enjoy watching and never miss any of your projects. I hope one day I will see u guys. ( from Sri Lanka ) wishing you guys wonderful time ahed ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Grind Hard Plumbing 🪠 might need Arnold Palmer to hold their Lemonade and Ice 🧊 Tea while they drag race THAT golf ⛳️ Cart
This thing would be so fun in a dune-like environment
Hi guys,
The by you bought Golf Kart is really insane 😀. Send you love from the Netherlands
I think if your on Grind Hard Property you should wear a helmet and probably a chest protector!!! Another great starter vehicle to improve on!! Looks like fun!!!
Seems like tuning/stiffer suspension and a sway bar would go a very long way with this
Great video as always dudes!! Hows the shop coming along?
Nice, my stomping grounds! Nice to see you guys down in the Boise area!
Looking at possibly moving to Idaho. Care to share with me your biggest complaint about living there? I'm looking to get in a rural area but not so remote that Internet is an impossibility. Everything else is fairly flexible.
For context I'm looking to move north. Our current options are Idaho, Vermont or Maine.
I didn't think I could love your channel anymore, but then you added disc golf.
I just came across a SICK van camper 4x4 build that would be right at home with you guys! It's on Facebook marketplace under "1982 Ford custom toy hauler" in Springfield, OR.
Awesome find. I had 150hp buggy and it was constantly breaking things and changing things until i gave up but saying that for the madness it was kinda worth the pain lol
Safe to say these guys either built or bought the every single we should put a gnarly motor in this or that imaginable lol🤘🤘👍👍
That's awesome! I live in Idaho too and thought I recognized the gas station and then you said Dole Whip and was like yup I know that gas station exactly
Dudes road turns into his driveway. Heck yeah
Love your videos watched most of them in 2weeks:) ❤ keep it up :)
Put some tires on that thing so we can see some wheelies and maybe work on giving it a lower stance.
full send omg, chain sounds stretched, add sway bars, it will reduce roll,
I love how you guys fix anything... very cool. the laughing while driving, totally get it
That puppy is insanely bonkers! I'd go so far as to say it's pretty much the cat's pajamas.
Ok, I definitely need to finish mine now!!!! 🤪
I was there for street outlaws at firebird raceway wish i had seen you guys. I live only 5 min from the track. So cool
cool machine!
definitely looks like it needs sway bars lol
Make it awd it will make it faster and more adaptable for off-road!!! That would be amazing!! Love you your content from Dominican Republic!!!!
Man that is a mean azz golf cart right there boi
Lol, this is just insanity. I need to pay closer attention to marketplace, i need one haha
This is honestly really well built, nice find.
Nice... I'd lower the seats for a better center of gravity too, since there's no batteries under there now... if possible, I don't know what clearance is there either... 😊
Been twitching like a dog with crabs all week waiting for the new shop set , this was a great second choice fellas , i need to send you guys my 4cylinder 650 cc mower
