I am really enjoying watching your videos. I commented on one regarding going back to my "roots" of just washing, conditioning, towel dry, gel, air dry and scrunching out the crunch. These are all things I did waaaay before I ever heard of CG method. My hair looked great, full, long. After 5 years CG, thin, stringy, etc. I have pretty much stopped doing CG. No ton of products, plopping, etc. I do use a t-shirt for drying though. My hair is now looking so much better since "going old school." lol. Yes, I use a sulfate shampoo once a week to clarify, nothing fancy. I do use a sating pillow case and a satin cap to protect my curls at night, so I guess some of the CG method was useful. Thank you for doing the videos on no layers and how to cut your hair at home. I am sure these videos are a lot of work, they are appreciated. Keep up the good work.

I have loose waves (2a) and, to me, you look like you have medium curls.

damn, that cleansing hack is awesome!! 😍 brb trying it out for my waves 👀✨

Aaaaah you are genius! My hair has a loose wave curling only on the underside and temples. I recently stopped straightening and am now trying to figure out how to do my natural curl properly. You have SAVED MY LIFE. 😁🤗

My hair sounds the same as yours, mostly a 2a wave with 3a curls around the edges. I stopped straightening a month ago and my hair still looks dry and stringy. I know it’s going to be a long journey to get it healthy and shiny and holding it’s wave, but it feels so discouraging at this point. Straightening looked so much better and it’s tempting to go back so that my hair looks healthier, but I know that’s just an illusion. So I’ll stick to the curly girl method and probably chop off a lot of my waist length hair (thinking of going shoulder length, but I’m nervous about it).

I’m really curious to know why you have grown all your layers out. I thought layers helped xx

Love hearing someone with thin, wavy curly hair that has greys coming in too. I've been having trouble styling my greys with my regular hair as sometimes they don't behave the same and resist curling.

Thank you so much for this video!! I have the righteous roots oil I think I’m gonna give this a try. I have wavy hair, I have such a hard time getting definition since I cut my hair short. It’s almost like my waves disappeared after the cut 😣

Beautiful! I’ve also found oiling before washing works well. Sometimes I’ll do it the night before. Oh, I though your hair had a better shape - nice cut!

Wish I'd seen this one before I just purchased shampoo & conditioners yesterday. I'm 50, with naturally wavy (2B on top / 2C below with 3A curls at the nape) low-porosity, high density, fine greying hair, and I'd worn it hip-length long for decades. I just had 15 inches taken off so it's back up to a lob in time for summer, and really embracing both greys and curl. Until I found your channel I knew nothing about porosity and density, and definitely didn't realize my hair was actually finer than I'd been told before. I'm a bit embarrassed by how ignorant I've been about how to properly treat my wavy hair, and always felt like I was flying blind when it came to styling products. I'd also avoided heat styling like the plague because I'd been told it encourages frizz, only to find out my low porosity hair needs it. I can't begin to tell you enough how deeply I appreciate your channel and your enthusiasm -- it's helped me so much to minimize the anxiety when I feel overwhelmed by the INSANE number of styling products available.
How often do you do hot oil treatments? I usually only wash my hair once a week (maybe twice if it's been really hot or I got sweaty), and live in a place with high humidity, so I'm trying to figure out a simple summer routine that won't leave me looking like a deranged poodle. :D

How are your grays "acting"? Are they curling like the rest of your hair? Because I'm 25 and I started to get not grays, but actual white hairs since I was 22. I had highlights for years, and then right when I decided to grow my natural hair color, I died my hair in that very dark brown, after few months I noticed I have white hairs here and then, of course there are more now, and I'm afraid if they continue to grow all over my head, my curls will disappear or something, and I really don't want to lose my curls 😭

Hi jannelle i have been following your channel for about 2 years and i have been following the cg method on and off for about a year however i have had a few months off recently where i flat ironed my hair for school because i care too much about what people think. However i want to start again and i was wondering if you could do a video about hairstyles or updoes for school or work x

Question: Can your hair change the curl pattern? History - my hair has been white since my 20s but I have colored it back to the original auburn for 25 years. I took advantage of the quarantine to let the color habit go. I had 2 professional bleach jobs 3 months apart. Everything was fine after the 1st bleach but the hair was totally fried after the 2nd. I've cut off about 6 inches of it and had about 4 inches of new growth since the 1st bleaching. I've been using Olaplex 3 weekly, deep conditioning every other day and an occasional protein treatment. Now that I have a reasonable amount of new hair, I am seeing that the curl pattern is changing direction. I'm not sure what to think!

I wash (sulfate shampoo), then condition or mask twice and in between conditioners / masks I use oil on the very ends of my hair (oil rinse). It's awesome. The method is called WCC (wash, condition, condition). Because the sulfate shampoo is so stripping, I add the moisture back in afterwards and it helps hugely. I need to weigh my hair down. It is fine, but I have a lot of it. Your hair looks great. I am embracing the grays (white hairs) as well. I *love* it!

Love your videos. I know all curlies are different, I've used all of the Quidad products, they really weigh my curls down. But, since I went full natural grey 2 years ago and stopped coloring, my hair is so soft and healthy now. I have similar curl to yours. I have fine hair

Thanks very much for the demo. Your hair looks great. Did you say that you had your layers cut off?
I did that also. Layers on super fine thin hair make it look so stringy! I wanted to mention how nice your makeup looks. Very becoming. A few years back, you were doing much heavier makeup, but the look you have today and recently is amazing. It lets your natural beauty show through.
