I followed her method with similar products and O.M.G! I've been loosely following the curly girl method for about a year and learning how to repair my seriously damaged hair but I could never get my part right or my products weren't even throughout my hair or my moisture/ protein was out of balance. Her top down method is amazing! My curls are all the way to the root, my hair is bouncy and EVEN MY BOYFRIEND NOTICED! I don't think I will ever straighten my hair again! Thank you so much for sharing and I'll continue to follow you on insta!💜 oh, and the back of my hair has never had so much definition, ever!
Hi Katie! Ahhh this is so exciting!! I'm beyond happy to hear how well it worked for you, thank you so much for letting me know!
i dont mean to be off topic but does any of you know of a way to get back into an Instagram account..?
I somehow forgot my login password. I love any tips you can give me!
Tried this method on my last wash day, and my hair has never been this beautiful and defined. I’m on day 3 now and it still looks amazing without a refresh. Thank you so so so much!!
Hi, Dora!! So happy to hear it worked well for you! Thank you so much for letting me know!! ❤️❤️❤️
I almost don't want to comment. It'll break the 111 comments.
I tried this today. I have 2B occasionally 2c waves so I wasn't so sure about this. My hair is about 85% dry right now. I chose to add mousse to my ends when it was part dry, nothing new. I am already in awe. Even with my way too short hair, I have more curl than I have in a long time.
You’re too cute!!! I’ll take comment 112 from you any day ❤️ I’m happy to hear you got great results, thank you so much for letting me know!
Thanks for your feedback! I'm growing my hair out but it is short stills so i was curious if anyone with shorter hair has had good results!
Good 👍
Great technique! I found your channel through Swavy Curly Courtney. I can’t wait to try this method on my next wash day.
Same here!
Ditto!
Same!
Me too
Wow! I've got to admit, I was skeptical and didn't see how this would be any different than upside down. I admit I haven't scrunched out yet....but holy definition and I can already see I will have more volume. This is the ONLY tutorial I have ever followed, and I've followed a lot, that I am totally over the moon about. I also have fine hair, low density and high porosity. 2b/2c/3a mix. Also, I'm an idiot - all this time I thought curly magic was a curl cream, lol. Thanks so much for sharing. I'm going to share this in my curly hair group. Hope you don't mind!
Same stats as you! Excited to try this method!
Wow... This actually worked for me. Not so tedious like some routines, ended up with a great combination of definition, hold, and softness. Thank you so much for sharing!!
O. M. G. You changed my life!
Love this methode so much. It's like magic. Totally gonna work for me and my hair. Thank you 💕
I have struggled getting definition on the back of my hair and i am so thrilled to have come across this channel! I am definitely going to try this today for wash day! So far i have always needed a really hard cast to keep my curls defined but my under layer in the back is always a hot mess! 🤞🏼
I tried this and it gave me the BEST results I've had. Thank you for sharing this!!
I tried this today after watching Alexa's video touting your method. My hair turned out amazing, my curls are much more defined.
Just tried it literally and this has solved my flat roots problem thank u!!😭
Gorgeous results! I’ve always loved sectioning my hair and pulling it upwards like that because you get volume and definition 🙌🏼 I’ve never tried starting at the top though! I’ve always started at the bottom and worked up. Going to try it next time in your order 😍
i just commented on your latest video of flip, section, method video as this could be the method you were talking about!
I tried it out today. It turned out great. I think I will try it again. With this technique the parting of my hair is so nice.
Hallelujah.. this is the first method I’ve tried that actually made my curly 2b hair look good. My hair is short, thin and fine so I wasn’t sure it would work for me but oh my goodness it did. It even made my hair look fuller .. thank you so much for posting !
This gave me sooo good results 🥰 I love the volume and definition and it made ever my ”straight” parts curl!
Just tried this technique, and I'm so happy with the results! Lots of volume, definition, AND no cowlicks/scalp showing in the back yayyy lol ♡♡♡
Oooh I can't wait to try! You and your curls are beautiful!
I'm a new subscriber now that I saw this method to try. I have 2b 2c hair little past shoulder length. Started my curly journey about 1 year ago and I still need all the help I can get and willing to try new products and methods. Thank you for this video and loo forward to more.
I tried this today and had amazing results! This was the first time I used the uncle funky’s gel without another gel and it was awesome. Just saw that you’re Greek! It’s so funny, whenever I see your videos I feel like you might have some type of accent lol! 😄I’m half Greek btw! Thanks for sharing your videos!💗
When I watched the video I was intrigued. When I tried the technique I was hooked. So much easier than the brush coiling I had been attempting. It’s actually quickest method I’ve tried and has the best results for my 2c - 3a curls. I have taught this method to my teenage niece, her frizzy crazy teenage hair was ‘prom worthy’ when we got done. She’s been doing it herself for a few months now her friends are driving her crazy wanting to know what perm she got!
The curl envy I have right now is out of this world 😭😭 hard to watch bc I’m so jealous of your GORGEOUS hair!!!
You are so sweet!! It took a while for my curls to get healthy, don’t give up on yours 😘❤️ thank you!!
Same here, I don't have those kinds of curls. 1.5 years and a big chop later and I realized that my hair is only wavy, barely curly and the front of my hair barely waves at all.
Gorgeous hair! Thank you for the tips on blow drying with diffuser and all the products suggested.
OMG. Not gonna lie. I wasn’t even going to attempt this because I thought for sure I would get the sections all messed up. But I decided to give it a try and oh my gosh, I have never had so many curls and volume! I love it. This will be my new go to routine! Thanks so much!
Gorgeous, Curls!!!😍😍You have some of the most gorgeous curls that I've seen on social media. Thanks for coming on and sharing your tips.
You are seriously too kind! Thank you so much! I’m always happy to help ❤️
You've just got a new subscriber! Loved it !! Thank you x
Can it wait to try all your ways to see which works best! Omggg
I have 2b-2c waves and my hair is really thick and heavy. I’m always searching for ways to get more volume at the roots. I tried this on a whim but was skeptical (sectioning and brushing usually doesn’t work for me). Oh my goodness, it turned out so well and i didn’t have to be upside down for an hour! The volume is amazing. I am really close to Jesus right now and i love it. Thank you so much for doing this video!
Wow! Looks beautiful
I've been playing around with different types of styling so I will definitely try this next time i wash!!
Yay!!! Fingers crossed! 🤞🏻❤️
First, I am so so so happy you started this channel. I LOVE seeing your video clips and pictures on Instagram. You are my hair goals!
Second, I definitely am trying this method soon!!
Hi, Maleesa! Thanks so much, you are very sweet! I can’t wait for you to try the method, if you have the chance let me know how it goes 😘❤️
@@typeofbeautiful4703 I definitely will will! :)
Just starting my curly hair journey - thank you for taking this step by step - so helpful! Plus, your curls are the prettiest I've ever seen - love the big coils!
Welcome to the club! Thanks so much 🥰 feel free to message me on Insta if you have any questions!
I also just started. I've been trying different products but my problem is I can't quite get the hang of disfusing.I hope that doesn't sound dumb lol. I will keep trying and hopefully I can figure it out.
Fantastic !!!! I really needed to find a technique for the back underneath part!! Thank you so much!!! Keep it up 🥰🥰
I have 2b-3a hair, I would say mostly 3b. My hair has never been as curly as yours. I’m going to try this method, I hope it works for me because your curls are amazing. I already added the gel to my Walmart grocery order.
Congratulations on your channel! Looking forward to it!
Thanks so much, Rachel! ❤️❤️❤️
Great video Katie!! Really well explained! I can’t wait to try this method!
Thanks so much!!
I found you through swavy curly Courtney. I just subscribed today and I have watched four of your videos. I love your curls. I have never seen anybody on any video that I watch that have curls as beautiful as yours. I am not a jealous person but I'm jealous of you LOL. I have been doing the curly girl method for over a year now and I got my curls to be just beautiful and I did a big No-No and I lightened my hair I put oops in my hair and I damaged the heck out of it. I just got 3 in cut off last week and my hair still won't curl because it's so damaged so I'm going to try this method to see if it works. All I know is I need to deep condition condition to get my curls back. You are my favorite curly girl channel LOL.
Definitely going to try this!
Ohh I totally tried this method today!!! I finally got the back of my head properly covered. Usually I have that split in the back but I didn't have that this time. Oh this is so great!!! Thank you :)
Yaaaay!!! Happy to hear it helped!
so glad to find somebody with a lower density just like me 💖 you have beautiful hair
Thank you so much!!! ❤️❤️❤️
OMG, what a fabulous new method!you/your curls are gorgeous, so glad I found you.needed new info/method/products after being a victim of the devacurl disaster so I'll be binge watching all your videos tomorrow! Such a smart, efficient method youve come up with
Thank you so much, Jaclyn!! I really appreciate you! Just a heads up (trigger warning) my Plump Method video is a reupload of my Instagram tutorial from early last year and it includes a devacurl gel. Of course use literally any other gel if you try that one
You are gorgeous and your hair is gorgeous! I've watched so many videos that I didn't think there was much new for me to learn, but I definitely got new ideas from watching this video. Excellent! I'm a new subscriber and can't wait to see more videos!
Hey, Ariana! Thank you so much for the feedback, and welcome!!! I’m always coming up with some new hair experiment 😅. So excited to have you!
Preach, Kathryn! Sooo many videos
your hair is GORGEOUS!!!
OMG! This is amazing 😍 I did not change any product, I just brushed hair like she demonstrates and this style is amazing 😍!
That is awesome! Glad it worked so well for you Renea ❤️
Wow❤️ um sure gonna try it...
Somehow UA-cam decided I needed to see this video. I tried the product application method and really took my time with my diffuser and I’m so impressed with the results. Now I just need some better products!
Found this method on fit curls. Can't wait to try it.
I'll be doing this tomorrow, Courtney sent me here. Subscribed! You both are awesome......
So I recently just tried this method. When I first started my journey I would style my hair upside down but my curls would be wonky in the back of my head and my part would always lay so awkward. I tried this method and wow it was fast and easy and the results are incredible!! Thank you for sharing this method.
Yay!!! So happy to hear it worked well for you, thank you so much for letting me know!
You are gorgeous! I've been styling upside down for 2 years now and recently noticed it's not working for me anymore! I have this weird frizz like some of my hairs aren't getting enough love or something. 😫 I have also found that damp styling works better than upside down in the shower now, so I was starting to think my hair has changed. Then I saw this in my reccomended videos and I have a restored hope! Will definitely be trying this method. 🙌🏼
You have such beautiful curls! Thank you for sharing your method!
Thank you so much, you’re welcome!!
Thank you for sharing this Katie! Cannot wait to try for my next wash day.
You’re welcome, Caitlyn! Hope it worked well for you!
Wow volume and definition so pretty😍
Beautiful curls, well done.
I am definitely trying this next wash day! Thank you for this tutorial!
You’re welcome!!
Great method and gorgeous results!! I always struggle with the back of my hair being WAY less defined than the front. I'm definitely trying this on my next wash day!
Thanks so much! Hopefully this will solve that problem for you!
@angela Monahan...girl me too!!! I will have pretty nice curls in the front but this weird wavy mess in the back. I've tried everything. I guess I will give this a whirl
Thank you! This was so helpful! You're hair is just beautiful!
You are welcome, thank yoooou! 🥰❤️
I just used this technique! ❤️ Going to take some practice to perfect it, but my curl definition is AMAZING 🥰
Yaaaay!!! That’s great! ❤️😘
Really gorgeous! I’m gonna try this 😃🙏🏼
I’m trying this and I hope this works 🤞🏻 also I’m super jealous of your hair, it’s gorgeous
Tried your method yesterday. Great success! Do you have a video on refreshing this method day 2, 3, maybe 4 🤣🤣
I'm so excited to try this on my next wash day, exactly what my hair needs i think
🥳🥳🥳
I tried this and it really made my curls more springy! Thank you for sharing !
Yaaay!! Awesome news! You’re welcome!
So pretty!! I can't wait to try this!! Your hair is so pretty!! Great job!!💜
Ahhh! 🥰 Thanks so much!!!
Well I guess I’ll try this next wash day thank you!!!! 😊😊😊
I'm definitely going to try this when I wash my hair tomorrow! I have a lot less hair than you do, so I don't expect to get the same kind of volume, but I really love how this method works for you!
Hi gorgeous! I hope you get tons of volume! Fingers crossed 🤞🏻
Excellent tutorial!!
Ooooo can’t wait to get ahold of that gel! Sounds like it’s exactly what I need.
Fingers crossed!!!
Amazing method. Thank you!!
Holy moley you have the perfect curls!!!
I found ur channel thru Courtney!! Im going to try this tonight on my hair!!
so beautiful! I love how bouncy they turned out!
Thank you so much, Bree!!!
Great step by step, I’ll have to give it a go next wash! ☺️
Thanks so much! Feel free to send me a DM on Instagram if you have any questions at all ❤️
Thank you for sharing this fantastic curly girl method. I’m so excited to dry this out!! You and your hair are BEAUTIFUL!
Thank you so much, Katie!! Feel free to send me a DM on Insta if you have any questions ❤️❤️❤️😘
I’m in love with your curls! 😍
Thank you so much, Polina!! You're so sweet!
Thank you. I saw this video this morning. I just tried it tonight. It was awkward and some of the hair stuck wrong, that can be fixed tomorrow. The results were awesome. Way more curl than wave. My hair needs a cut, last cut was in February. It took a little longer to dry with the pixie drying at the roots and length, but I think I used too much gel. Other than those minor issues I’m happy with the result. Can’t wait for the next wash day
It was awkward for me the first few times I was trying to figure it out too!! Hopefully it gets a little easier as you go! Glad to hear you got beautiful curls
Gonna save this method! In the last year I have started to embrace my curls.. I am 51 and for most of my life I fought them and straightened as much as possible.. I am SLOWLY getting some length and curl definition. You have beautiful hair and great tips! Saving this video and looking into the products you use.. still trying to figure that out!
Hi, Lisa! Welcome to the curl club, so exciting!! You will get it figured out, I have no doubt. Feel free to message me on Instagram anyime!
I’m 59 and just started embracing my curls as well. I’ve straightened my hair my whole life. I am finally liking my curls but I thought it was supposed to be much easier then straightening! I’m finding it much harder and much more work to have nice curls! Lol.
This has been a game changer for me. Thank you!
Yaaay!! Happy to hear that, Kate! You’re welcome ❤️
Fabulous!
Your hair is stinking beautiful! I’m going to try this ASAP!
Yaaay!! Thanks so much, let me know how it goes 🤞🏻❤️
Well this video proves that some people are just born with perfect hair 😭😭😍
You’re so sweet! Trust me, I have wild hair days still 😅❤️
Thank you! Thank you! On top of finding out at 60 (covid laziness, telework and first break in straightening my hair since 1973), I discovered the hair I had been fighting with my whole life is actually curly. That would be wonderful, except for the fact that I have old lady super thin hair. I had tried everything and your method actually worked to give me volume on top and hide my scalp. I also had never had any luck diffusing, but with the amount of products I applied (which seemed like way too much) and letting my hair mostly air dry, I was able to diffuse a beautiful end result. Thanks again!
Hi tvmom. I’m 67 and can relate to your post because 2 years ago I finally figured out my crazy poofy hair was actually untamed curls. It’s been quite a journey but now I have 3a curls! I also stopped highlighting my dark blonde hair and now I’m almost totally gray, but I don’t have the density I used to have, which I miss. Anyway, good luck on your journey!
@@Irishrainy oh for the density of youth. I wish I had learned sooner. I spent a lot of time in the hair battle.
I love your curls! Do you get a curly cut? I’m going to have to try this on the weekend. I have an interview coming up and em want to wear my curly hair vs. straightening it. Also, love watching videos that introduce new products to me. I’ve only heard of the Innersense brand. Thank you for sharing and for joining UA-cam!
Ah! I CANT wait to try this!!! i legit sat in my car and watched this whole video!
Let me know how it goes!! I’m excited for you to try it 🤗❤️
Wow! Your hair turned out so pretty!
Thank you so much!!
Just tried this for the first time today. I've finally been able to get definition from diffusing and although it was the first time and probably could be better I'm well chuffed with it. Im
Amazing I will try it 💖💖
Tried this method this morning, my curls look so good!
That’s the best news!!! ❤️
Wow! Awesome curls!
Thank you so much! ❤️
I saw Swavy Curley Courtney's video using this technique, so I decided to try. As I am typing this, I am diffusing my hair. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 I'll comment my results in a few...
ooo I'm going to have to try this tomorrow! I'm curious what you do on refresh days.
WOW. you're hair is amazingggg
You make me want long hair again!! 💗
Your curls are sooo gorgeous 😍
AMAZING!!!!
Your curls look incredible! So much bounce and definition. I’ve always been curious about trying a method like this, but I brush my hair every night, and I hate the feeling of gel on my hair. 🤔
Love that you showed how to use the diffuser correctly, I’ve always wondered about that! Would I use low air/ high heat? What settings are best to use? Thanks for any extra help!
I’m so happy to see you on youtube! A lot of your Instagram had helped me but I’m not there much anymore!
Yaaay! Thanks so much! I’m planning on posting at least once a week here ❤️
Type of Beautiful I’m happy! I don’t know if any of my viewers will come but I made a community post forwarding them here! You deserve it!💞
Jadeikens ahh thanks, sweetheart! You’re the best! I subscribed to you, can’t wait to check out your channel 🥰
You have GORGEOUS hair ❤️
That's very good. Similar to the Denman brush method. Excellent results :-)
Gorgeous!
