    As a Labonte fan, the '95 race is my favorite of all-time. This one, not so much, although the '95 one was a lot worse from Dale, he just tried to go through him in the final turn. Sadly, this was the beginning of the end for Terry's career, he won in Texas earlier this season, but didn't have a Top 5 the rest of 1999 and got only one win the rest of his career (2003 Darlington, where he held off Kevin Harvick). But that's the way it goes.

      Hell yeah. I appreciate it. Me too man. The energy back then was just different, and sadly Nascar has lost most of that. I'm still a diehard fan, never miss a race. But when Dale was racing you knew it was going to be exciting.

      Went to Daytona 500 in ‘92 and it was really cool 😎. I knew practically every drivers long history in the sport and who they used to drive for and how they earned a ride in Nascar by working their way up the different divisions. So, I attended the 2022 500 and was kinda disappointed that I knew, maybe, 3-4 driver’s back story (Harvick / Hamlin / Truex ) The rest were unfamiliar kids that spent maybe a season in trucks then went straight to cup cars and those new cars and rims. Geez, you talk about friggin ugly 😫!!! The number relocation………???seriously???!!😣 I felt like I was attending a rice burning drifter contest. Nascar has been alienating me as a fan for years but, I’m kinda done. 🤔Back to good ole short tracks where Earnhardt’s spirit probably spends most of his time at anyways.😉🏁

    To be fair, Labonte did touch Earnhardt first (twice actually) but Earnhardt just cleaned him out. Boy, just imagen the nuclear meltdown from the fandum if it happened today... oh, wait it does happen in just about every race depending on who does what to who.

      Earnhardt used to get booed all the time through roughly 1997. Around that point, the pendulum shifted and you never heard many boos for him after that. He was quoted later in the week after this race saying something to the effect of "If they're not cheering me, they'd better be booing me" because he felt that any reaction was better than no reaction.

    Hey brotha commenting on your comment about the constant missing of the restart on the broadcast back in the day, my guess would be they have a certain amount of ads/commercials that have been paid for in a certain time frame of the race and have to honor those before switching back, not sure if that's accurate but it's my best guess lol

    • @Demise90Racing
      @Demise90Racing  Рік тому +1

      That makes sense. I feel like a major part that I never really mentioned as well, is today NASCAR is in constant contact with the broadcasters of Fox and NBC so nothing gets missed. Back then the broadcasters had to make their best guess on when to bring the broadcast back for the green. But even this theory I may be mistaken.

    Short track racing at its finest? Ew. Earnhardt flat out spins the leader with 3 to go. Cheapest of the cheap shots. All the time he would say he didnt want to spin people. He was "rattling cages". Everyone knew it was bull. The guy survived and thrived off of just spinning people he couldnt get around. How dare anyone ever touch him though. Earnhardt was a menace on the track at the best of times. Money talked and people love a good heel so Big Bill and son let him do whatever he wanted.

    I have a video request. You should make a video analyzing Earnhardt's reputation as a dirty driver. Personally, I think it is completely unwarranted. I think it is mostly just a bunch of fans of other drivers making excuses. Most of these people would have trouble even naming 4 or 5 times Dale ever caused an accident. Most people probably can only remember the 2 altercations with Terry at Bristol. I know we don't have footage of every race, but my guess is that it would be tough to come up with a top 10 list of crashes caused by Earnhardt. I can only think of a few...certainly no more than most drivers with careers that long.
