Tim, trust me, I’m no Teresa Earnhardt apologist. But could you possibly look at it from another viewpoint? She’s already involved with a man with 2 previous wives and 3 kids separated between those 2 women who don’t really know much of anything about each other or their kids AT ALL, let alone having the new and added responsibility of essentially becoming an instant stepmother to both Dale & Kellie who lived with Dale & Teresa 1/2 the year. Then along comes Kerry - child (actually a teenager) number 3 out of nowhere...now I’m not justifying her cold rudeness and standoff-ishness, but she has got to be realizing at this point that she’s involved with a guy with A LOT OF BAGGAGE! That’s kind of A LOT to take in...
I don’t know it for a fact, it’s just my gut feeling, but I’m pretty sure Teresa felt like she had bitten off more than she could chew, by hitching her wagon to Dale’s. That’s the ONLY reason I’d cut her ANY slack...she might’ve been the wicked step-monster, but I give her a little bit of credit for trying to manage the load she volunteered to take on...
Just my opinion...I don’t “love” (or even LIKE her), but I also can’t hate her too much for trying...

We put our heroes on a pedestal and think they do no wrong. Dale Sr has always been one of my heroes and it saddens me to know he walked out on his child. I’m truly glad he was able to make amends and build a relationship with Kerry. My biological father walked out on me when I was an infant and today I’m 44 years old and he’s still made no effort to see me. Being abandoned is a weight that you just cannot get off of you. I’m truly glad Dale Sr did the right thing and accepted his son and treated him the way he treated his other children. I also think it’s really cool that Dale Jr and Kerry were roommates in Dale’s doublewide.

I wish the title wasn’t ‘Dale Earnhardt Jr’s brother’. He’s his own man, he’s Kerry.

This is the first interview I've seen of Kerry, it's amazing how much he looks like his dad. It's always great when member of the family who hasn't been a part of it gets accepted back in. This video brings back memories of an uncle I had that was an outcast. Once I found him I wanted him part of our family, it's so great when that works out.

Kerry looks more like Dale than any of his other children. The unfortunate part of that is he gets the least notoriety of being an Earnhardt compared to his siblings.

I know exactly how Kerry felt that first time, its surreal how the story of my father and I matches his almost exactly, from the one phone call in early high school, finding out I had two sisters and to the silent room first time meeting, Hell even my Uncle who was my semi replacement dad taught me to golf. The emotions I had watching this, words truly fail me at the moment.
