i was fortunate to see him live (as wayne static) in may of 2014 with dope, otep, smile empty soul, thira. I was shocked when i found out about his death few months later! he played Wisconsin Death Trip in its entirety! followed with a few songs from each album! and then ending with Cannibal!. wicked fucking night!
My first real big show I ever played was with smile empty soul headlining. I had joined a fairly well known local metal band and was the new drummer. I gotta thank smile empty soul cuz people sure did turn up to see them! We started our set and after 30 seconds and the first assault with my double kicks I look up and the whole damn place was PACKED this was at the firebird In st Louis. A few songs in a noticed all 3 members of smile empty soul were right in front and the singer was FILMING ME!!! I'll never forget that moment when a real Rockstar was filming me drumming and a packed house.. one of the greatest moments of my life man!
Saw them when they first appeared at Ozzfest a million years ago, and they were so LOUD and so tight, I couldn't believe it. Awesome band! Awesome show! RIP Wayne!
Bruhhh, static was my first concert. This had to be the tour I saw em on when they stopped thru ABQ NM, i was like 12/13, m 35 now. Holy shit, thanks for uploading brought me back, man when Bled for Days came on everybody went nuts I remember that feeling of everyone squishing together moshing couldn't breath but wanted to keep up as a youngster lol Dammit I need a show, nothing like a live show. RIP Wayne 🤘👽
I know "Slaves on Dope" was there because the guitar player spat his beer in the air as a mist and it landed all over me. I talked with him about it in the parking lot and he apologized. Ticket stub only says Static-X but I remember three bands being there.
So glad I got to see them live at least once around 04-05 and got to meet Wayne outside the venue he was such an awesome down to earth guy who took time to sign autographs and take pictures with his fans and he would get into conversations about music and life in general, it is one of my fondest memories to date.
I wish I would of seen static x live i remember when I first started listening to them I said want to do that play guitar and sing been playing since I was 14 I’m 31 now Rest In Peace Wayne and Sarah Ray
Holy shit this a really good recording and awesome live performance as usual from these guys. Saw them for the first time in 05 and back again in 09 and they are just the absolute fucking best live. So heavy 🔥
This brings tears of joy to my eyes. Used to have so much fun at Static X shows back in the day. Fuck it was awesome. Rest well Wayne, you were the shit
wow, I remember I was supposed to go to this show. It was the summer I graduated high school, that age when everything is just amazing. Always nagged me we didnt make it, and I never ended up seeing them before Wayne died, so thank you for posting this.
I'm yet to find a Wayne Wray performance that I don't enjoy. Yet another. great concert by Static! it's too bad that Tony and Koshi left and Wayne passed. To this day I'd go to any concert they had within 300 miles. I went to every concert they had that was even somewhat close and left looking forward to the next one. 11 shows just wasn't enough... :'(
11 shows, your so lucky,:) here in Australia, were lucky to have such talent come visit us every other blue moon, i was lucky enough to see them and meet them. yes, it was great performance :)
So much energy and passion for the music. I had their CD Wisconsin Death Trip since it came out, I wish I spent more time going to a show or two then getting wrapped up in life. Music sets you free and we all need to be more free. Mad props for seeing them live and more than once. Another band that I won't be able to see live in person now.
from Canada for for week and see they are playing. No way. Was 18+, my Aunt brought me. Was cool. Loved it was 16. Got to meet them. Fanboy. Good times. The opening band was Slave on Dope from Montreal. Small world. Cause I'm from there
He`s not faking bro, i know where u coming from, there are backing tracks for the electronic hi-hats and some other drum stuff that can`t be recraeted live, but he`s also playing over it.They also have alot of other samples so Its not faking.
Makes sense and I get that. But When I seen them on Ozzfest he was bashing the shit out of the cymbals. Here it sounds triggered and sampled. Even watching these songs redone today on the WDT tour. Hes playing the shit out of the drums. Wonder if he went to a triggered set or something during this time.
@@danbo333 Probably they had some sampled cymbals IDK I assume you a drummer too ,I myself too play drums and have an ear for these things a normal fan wouldnt notice.
I was able to catch Static-X at the Stone Pony in 2003. Skrape and Soil opened. Great show, packed room all grooving to the evil disco.
I watch this concert daily. This show kicks serious ass

Wayne was such a underrated front man and guitarist. The guy was absolutely talented and had awesome stage presence. Rest easy Wayne
2003 I saw them. A different line up a little but man what a show. You'd think Wayne wasn't human but that's him.
This doesn't have to be in HD because its Wayne fucking static at his best
Saw them when they first appeared at Ozzfest a million years ago, and they were so LOUD and so tight, I couldn't believe it. Awesome band! Awesome show! RIP Wayne!

No need for fuss..
The world will never understand The lost of Wayne Wells(Static).
I saw them in Huntington, WV around the same era. 2001 I believe. Holy hell it was absolutely incredible (and my first time in a mosh pit). RIP Wayne.
2002. With Gravity Kills, Adema, Reveille, and Stabbing Westward. Time flies.
I was at this concert though I can't remember for the life of me who else played. Drugs are a hell of thing.
Was this at Hampton Beach in NH?

This was after Springfield Mass. I was in radio wandering back stag lol
What a show... Wayne was a genius
I saw them 03 for their Shadow Zone tour in a pretty small venue too and they were amazing. So glad I got to see Wayne live once.

Poor static x. They didn't get the recognition they deserved. Great band.
Always a bad ass set!! I love how when they started the speakers couldn't hang..they eventually got the speakers to keep up with their instruments!!
